RomanceRe: Am 18 And Am In Love With A 30yrs Guy by rman:

Am a 200l student, I met this guy here on NL, though when we started I didn't tell him am 18, I told him am 24, I cooked up different lies for him, so that he won't see me as a teenager, but with time, I felt deeply in love with him and I think he felt the same way, though we have never slept together.

I decided to confess all my lies to him....which I did on Saturday, though he was angry initially but he later calm down and said I should come to his place today so that we can talk about the issue....av never been to his place b4, we only meet at public places. The problem now is he is threatening to call it quit if I did come to his house today, though I really love him but am not ready to go his house now. PLEASE NO INSULT
Are there no guys in your immediate circle or environment that you had to hook up with a 30yr old on nairaland at your age?

Relationships with the opposite sex at your age should be with people that can easily be traced, not complete strangers on an anonymous forum where people can claim anything.

The fact that he is threatening to break up with you if you do not show up is a RED FLAG for me. As a 30yr old, if he is genuinely in love with you, he will not take advantage of your innocence. I am sure he does not know your house too.

Run as far away as your legs can carry you from this guy. He is manipulating you.

Best of luck in your future relationships. You can start with guys you know already in your immediate circle that you fancy.

Leave online hookups for experience ladies for now till you have learned a little.

I sometimes don't know why you people type like this with this silly abbreviations when it's not like you skipped nursery and primary school. Some years ago, I had an ex who used to chat like this with me and I sort of picked up the bad habit. It stopped after we parted ways cos there was no body to communicate with like that. Today, anytime I see facebook posts I made in the past with such writing pattern, I get really ashamed and embarrassed I actually wrote that... I know it's your life and your choice but trust me, it doesn't sell you a good image to someone who is reading you for the first time. Makes it look like you have a bad command/use of English and also makes it look like you're local.

Please, I'm not trying to insult you or anything of such.

9. Three guests check into a hotel room.

The clerk says the bill is $30, so each guest pays $10.

Later the clerk realizes the bill should only be $25.

To rectify this, he gives the bellhop $5 to return to the guests.

On the way to the room, the bellhop realizes that he cannot divide the money equally.

As the guests didn't know the total of the revised bill, the bellhop decides to just give each guest $1 and keep$2 for himself.

Each guest got $1 back: so now each guest only paid$9; bringing the total paid to $27.

The bellhop has $2.

And $27 + $2= $29 so, if the guests originally handed over $30,

what happened to the remaining $1?
There is no missing one dollar.

The moment he handed over one dollar back to each guest, the total sum that should be used for calculation is $29 instead of $30

A man lives on a 10th floor of some building. Every morning he takes the elevator to the ground floor to go shopping for groceries.

When he comes back, he takes the elevator to the 7th floor and continues by stairs to reach his apartment on the 10th floor.

Why?

Acidosis:
Beyond being a mobile banking code, GTB uses that number as a marketing strategy.

The idea is to make you and other Nigerians (non-GTB customers especially) dial the number on their mobile phones to see the actual purpose when in the real sense, the code is of no value to non- customers. So in a nutshell, GTB wants you and other non-GTB customers to see what they're missing.

You'd notice that throughout the ad (video) play time, the name "GTB" was never mentioned. They kept making reference to *737# and "Nigerians". If they had mentioned *737# and "GTB Customers", you'd not have created this thread.

That's the power of advertising bruv; the purpose is to first create awareness, get you thirsty for more knowledge/interest which you have just displayed by creating a thread. I bet, you would end up being a GTBank customer..

Advertising is powerful, especially when done rightly cheesy

I know that they all exist. I mean that they are not in the premier league. I'm used to watching them compete in the premier league. I've been closely following Nigerian basketball since 1985 and a relative of mine played for YMCA and NEPA in the league from 1987 till he got injured c1992. I know Noik, Colonel Ahmedu (Musa Ahmadu is Colonel Ahmedu's protégé), Lati and all of them.

First Bank are the powerhouse of the women's game, just like Kano Pillars is in the men's game.

This year's league is kind of strange to me because quite a few of my favourite teams from the 1980s and 1990s are not in the premier league. There's no Lagos Islanders, Ebun Comets or Dodan Warriors.
Comets was relegated. They are in div one and played last season and will compete this year.

Islanders, Union bank now Stallion boys and Dodan warriors were victims of Nigerian basketball politics for partucipating in the ABL.

All these teams still exist and with a new NBBF board , majority of them will return as most of the owners of this clubs now have their cronies on the new board.

Sound Sultan does not own Islanders forget the claims in the artucle he is someone I know very well.

When ABL was formed, he was one of the celebritues that was used to promote the league. I hope u know that years back, before his music career blossomed, he tried out for Dodan Warriors and did not make the final cut. His nick name then was "Effedrin". He later became a warriors ambassador and do grace their games.
Since he is a musician that loves basketball, they call on him a lot.
The ABL chnaged to CBL and Sound Sultan's club was Eko Kings because Islanders did not participate.

Islanders was formed years back and Mr Toyin Soniki was the coach and proprietor until 2004 when he quit the stage.
Damoye Oyeshiku bought the club and retained the name till today. Everyone very close to and follows Nigerian basketball knows all these.

FYI, I once captained Islanders and played for Nigeria and four different clubs before retirement. I am still very much involved till today..

Kwese league for men

Zenth league for women

Then the lower divisons (Div 1 and 2)

The top league for has two conferences of 8 teams each

while the women is not split into conferneces but olayed in phases until a winner emerges. There were 5 phases last season and First Bank club won the women league

Just one, the Kwese Premier League (and its lower divisions) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_Premier_League_(basketball) ) . Winners of the Kwese Premier League play in the FIBA Africa Clubs Cup (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FIBA_Africa_Clubs_Champions_Cup ).

However, in 2016 some of the most famous clubs created a new African league (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Basketball_League ) . The clubs included Lagos Islanders (partly owned by Sound Sultan), Lagos Warriors (of the Dodan Warriors/Dodan Barracks Basketball programme) and Stallions (Union Bank). Clubs from Senegal, Ivory Coast and Gabon were also involved in the league.

They then sought permission from the Nigerian Basketball Federation to play in both their new league and the Nigerian league. The NBBF told them that they should have sought permission before creating the league. They said that they had the permission of FIBA Africa, but FIBA Africa wrote to the NBBF that they never gave permission for the new league to hold. Then the NBBF indefinitely suspended all the Nigerian teams that took part in the new league.
Lagos Islanders is not owned by Sound Sultan but Damoye Oyesiku. Sound Sultan is just an ambassador of the club.

RomanceRe: All Her Friends Are Boys. Can Any Girl Explain This? by rman: 9:06am On Sep 01, 2017
olaboy1:
I think some girls keep close male friends for validation, financial support, educational support and lastly sex.
Girls are very smart and believe that not keeping those beta males as close friends would not bring anything to the table...I knew some girls back in the days who played guys whilst assuring them of some fake friendship.

Girls know fellow girls like themselves can't be used for financial gains, so they are quick to call the beta guys their closest friends. Often times the guys are far below the girls in the looks department, so they can rationalize it in their heads that no sex could ever happen considering the zero attraction they have for those beta guys.

The downside is that this beta guy who is more than happy to be placed in the friend zone initially, would one day become sexually violent after norturing those sexual feelings for years and analyzing all the cost implications.

The only time such a friendship may end up sex free is if the girl is like 8/10 and Mr nice guy is 4/10 in appearance.

If you are in a committed relationship, you should only keep casual male friends and stop sleeping over at best male friends. I don't believe that shit that girls don't get along with girls. What happens in a girl to girl relationship is obtainable in a guy to guy relationship, it's all excuse for freebies and stuffs.
God bless you!

Guys need to be wise. You understand why girls value male friendship more.
RomanceRe: All Her Friends Are Boys. Can Any Girl Explain This? by rman: 8:54am On Sep 01, 2017
After reading 6 pages of comments, Is it not strange that 99% of femaile posters claim they have more male friends than female?

Could it be that these guys are actually waiting for an opportunity like some posters claim?

Some guys have been firiendzoned. Some know it and can wait 10yrs in this zone, these are actually the dangerous guys. Some bare their minds and move on

Also, any guys that claim he has more female friemds is just a player and Number 1 pretender.

Ladies, be careful with your so called closed male friends, especailly those that do favor for you without expectations. Of course they want something.

The most dangerous guys are the overly nice and patient ones. By the time you end up sleeping with him as a lady, you will still be wondering how it happened.

Opposite sex can be friends, but close ones is a fraud. One or both are just pretending. You can take this to the bank

PhonesRe: My Bitter Experience With Airtel Unlimited 20 Data Plan... How Airtel Blocked Me by rman: 5:56pm On Aug 26, 2017
Sanchez01:
If I am to judge you with the emboldened, I would rebuff your claim about being a Globacom staff.

There are two kinds of bandwidth; the shared bandwidth which we all use on our phones and the dedicated Internet bandwidth which involves using a radio to pull capacity from the nearest Base station to a customer's server room. Now the difference between these two is that shared bandwidth could be affected by so many factors, not forgetting that download speeds would vary since it is shared by all customers in a particular location.

Wrong or outdated access point setting (s) on customer's devices, data network type restrictions (2G or 3G only settings on device), proximity of the closest 3G site to a customer, high data traffic during peak hours, the thickness of walls in out homes or offices among many other factors impact customer experience so far data is mentioned.

The shop folks can only take up a customer's complaint based on what he or she says. If a resolution is arrived at the shop, it is believed the issue has been treated and the case closed. The shop guys don't concern themselves with network issues in a particular location as it is the responsibility of an Area Sales Manager who operates within the affected location. He or she has to speak up because it would impact his performance and a quick response from the network team is always in place to see that the problem is corrected on the part of the business.

I don't need to run Globacom down because I sure believe there would have been a massive improvement if attention is paid to netwo rk anomalies as you claimed in your post.
From your write up, I can deduce you are a telecoms engr. You know your onions too.
PhonesRe: My Bitter Experience With Airtel Unlimited 20 Data Plan... How Airtel Blocked Me by rman: 4:05pm On Aug 26, 2017
Sanchez01:
Apologies though.

First off, the Unlimited 20 plan is a 20k monthly plan. Immediate two months would see that you get a two months Unlimited subscription + one month free and a WI-FI and not a MI-FI as you stated. The Unlimited 10 is the one that comes with a MI-FI.

Your problem was more of a network issue than the data subscription itself and the network guys that came around your office would only relay their findings to their head who would in turn push for an optimization in the area.

The Shop attendants are managers are sales people and don't have full grasp of network issues and how it affect customers. Your complaint at the shop wouldn't have changed much as the Shop manager does not have the capacity to resolve your issue.

For certain reasons, your location has poor network 3G coverage and you didn't share if it has been like this or it started recently. Either way, you should go back to the shop to demand for your extra free month, if you never got it that is.
This makes sense.

It is clear you understand what the issues are and how the industry opertaes. Kudos!
