if there is going to be any form of share exchange. it wld only be fair enough to compare / exchange like with like (i.e. NAV for both)

Instead of make the world grind to a halt, Trump go find trouble. Either NK or IR.
My Oga i know say d world no go end if the thing no hold

na the kind of maneuavering wey go happen to hold the thing they fear me (i.e. a repudiation of market economy by direct tampering with market and not through policy options)

because above wld mean that the very essence on which the foundation of the 20th /21st century economy is based is a mirage

Pls speak newbie's language so we can know whats up sir. Which one is second base ooo? grin
Oracle was looking at two indicators (i.e. DJIA at 27000 and WTI at $27) as a confirmation signal on his outlook being right

the first happened last week and teh second is about to happen this week

Whether is liquidity or insolvency issue, the uncertainty is underpinning factor of either, anyway! Insolvency issue - I was referring to - is more to do with the companies/businesses adversely affected cash-wise by this one-off exceptional non-business issue.... My point, exactly! And once the mkts are able to assess this uncertainty, mkts would naturally rebound....
My Oga it is well

My prayer is that in the absence of a vaccine / drug soon (30-60 days) at the least the first mover nations )(china / south korea) should not have as resurgent as they wound down (new cases in both places had subsided considerably) so that at the least the cycle of the pandemic as it affect a certain location cld be ascertained (along with the steps taken to bring the pandemic down in these places)

if above cld come to be true it wld bring some element of certainty (cycle wise) to the table and help calm the markets
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by robobo: 11:51am On Mar 16, 2020
Marlianvestor:
That was a scary and massive move by Fed, reasons for the scary reaction of the mkts. Besides, it is not quite a liquidity issue, folks have been harping about (cos the mkt was awash with stupendous liquidity pre Convid-19) but more of an insolvency issue....
i dont think its a insolvency issue either

is the world going to end if the markets froze for 30 dayshuh

i dont think so. yes some permanent damage wld be done but on comparative basis to the whole, the damage wld be quite negligible

me think it is the uncertainty (not knowing when this cld possible end or be contained) this is really spooking the market. once this (end/ containment) cld be ascertained calm and then growth wld resume

A wacky move by Zenith, if executed.... No synergistic, commercial benefit one bit in the said acquisitive move! Question is why Union Bank? Jim Ovia's personal business empire building move? On current valuation form, Union Bank shareholders will be smiling and not Zenith's....
oil dey ur head

if true cld only be for Ego sake, so his story wld look like something out of fairy tale of buying a company where he started his career at teh lowest rung of the ladder

or at best as a means to personally sequestered the property arm (a large cache) of UBN for himself

Both of which is a negative to the other/ minority shareholders

N.B. im heavy here and this if confirmed cld be a major red flag for me

At cp ,Union bank is one of the most expensive banks in the sector.
Just hope that zenith will not over pay for this acquisition.
My fear also. Plus i dont see any value add in Zenith getting bigger within the country. Strategically it wld make more value for zenith to expand into other African market both for diversification of its revenue base and also hedge on stiffer regulatory environment that Nigeria had became

So long as investors are seeing that that it can be contained as seen in China and South Korea, then this would be fully priced in sooner and markets willl normalise. The next stage of recovery and economic impact counts will start. That is the crucial phase.
cldnt agree less. the uncertainty wld end as d cycle becomes more predictable

Zenith missed the Friday forecast. Ori yo e! grin

I think the technical bottom was 10.85 seen on Thursday.

If on Monday, Zenith goes on full offer, then it will touch 10.75. This could become the spring board for a reversal.

Keep an eye on the world events over the week. Though there are slowing cases in Asia but EU and US will start to add terrifying numbers.
my oga the tin (corona) had exhibited a cycle (on china and south korea) that could be use for forecasting

they (china / south korea) are experiencing slowdown because dey are pass the peak per the studied cycle of the virus

Europe is approaching peak now (it shld come next week)

US is still at early stage and peak wld not come until upper week or more, they cant escape it

so there is still plenty of volatility to come
