SOSinNigeria:
It is fast becoming clear that Igbos will eventually exit Nigeria. Only the blind, deaf and dumb will argue this. Although Nigeria was programed to fail due to structural defects and the emergence of a character like Tinubu, through a highly flawed election, has finally sealed its faith. Peter Obi and the Obidient movement offered a silver of hope that Nigeria could possibly survive against all odds but the opportunity was missed.

Two things will happen going forward, or maybe 3.

1. Nnamdi Kanu dies in prison;
this will trigger severe crises that would lead to loss of lives. The Nigerian economy will be hit badly. Nnamdi Kanu will become a marty and separatists, particularly the IPOB will ride on the backlash it will generate against the state to escalate their calls for Biafra. They will win huge sympathy from overwhelming majority of Igbos and even other neutral minded Nigerians. The heat will be so much that referendum will eventually become inevitable.

2. Nnamdi Kanu is released after so many years in wrongful detention: He becomes another Nelson Mandela to his people. He promotes Biafra actualization with more vigour and mood of invincibility. He forms a government in exile and continues to gain ground till referendum becomes inevitable.
I prefer option 1 where the terrorist dies in prison and the SE burns.

PoliticsRe: Obi & Mmesoma: Similarities by Roger3D(m): 6:45pm On Jul 08, 2023
ALMUSTAQIM:
12 Similarities Between Peter Obi and Mmesoma Ejikeme - Reno Omokri

1. Obi voted in Anambra. Mmesoma wrote JAMB in Anambra.

2. Obi won Lagos. Mmesoma's 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice of schools are in Lagos.

3. Obi insisted he won #NigerianElections2023. Mmesoma insisted she had the highest JAMB score.

4. Obi claimed to be a youth at 62. Mmesoma claimed to be a minor at 19.

5. Obi blamed INEC glitch. Mmesoma blamed JAMB hitch.

6. Obi did a broadcast vowing to reclaim his mandate. Mmesoma did a broadcast promising that her results were genuine.

7. Mmesoma's daddy said she was always crying over JAMB. Obi cried 'Yes, Daddy' over the election.

8. Obi won 98% of Anambra's votes. The majority of Anambra supported Mmesoma.

9. Obi went on TV to cry. Mmesoma cried on TV.

10. Obi's followers insulted everybody. Mmesoma's supporters attacked everyone.

11. Obi lied that his brewery employs 60% of Anambra people. Mmesoma lied that she was the best pupil in Anambra.

12. IPOBy Ezekwesili said the certificate of return given to Tinubu belongs to Obi. IPOBy Ezekwesili insinuated that the highest score belongs to Mmesoma.

Moral of the story: Those who play emotional politics will always end in frustration, while those who play strategic politics will always end in dominion.

#TableShaker
This analogy is simply just bullshit

A 13 year old is still a little too young to be married in this time and age but what most of us fail to recognize is that throughout the thousands of years humans have inhabited this planet the age of marriage for a woman has never been fixed. Today we we frown upon a 13 year old getting married but 400 years ago it was perfectly normal.
PoliticsRe: President Tinubu Celebrates MKO Abiola On His 25th Death Anniversary by Roger3D(m): 7:25pm On Jul 07, 2023
jumper524:
Sorry Bro it was never a northern governors affairs, it was a group of politicians across all regions fighting for their personal interest that did that to mko.
Ibb himself was the Head of the movement, he never had the intention of handing over to democracy,
Kinigbe was never really loyal and served under Abacha, one of the masterminds of Abiola death.

Tony anenih an edo man was the happiest man then and was even mocking abiola.

Obj can't be left out.
Oladipo diya and many more played their role in ensuring mko doesn't win.
Yes IBB also tried to maneuver behind the scenes to see if he could stay in power and when he lost the support of the military, he had to bow out. But also note that the northern governors had little to do with it because the truncation of the 3rd republic would have meant their loss of power which is exactly what happened when Abacha took over.

Guy go and read your history very well Abiola brought IBB into power, Abiola knew the military then just like he knew his himself
Abiola didn't bring IBB to power, he merely provided financial assistance to the coup plotters who overthrew the Shagari regime and of course he also lent his media outlets to launch viscous attacks against the Shagari government. Abiola had no power in 1983 or '85 to bring about a change in government.

I recommend you read Max Siollun's book 'Soldiers of fortune' which is by far the most comprehensive and unbiased account of contemporary modern Nigerian history . There you can get the inside details of what really went down behind the scenes

greatiyk4u:
This is what happened in the most popular and largest cattle market in Bali local government of taraba state where the prizes of cattle and other livestock and food stuffs crashed by over 50% this week as a result of the week long sit at home order by the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).

This sit at home hindered many igbo traders from going to the North to buy these commodities leading to not just prize crash but equally low patronage. I was able to buy a sizeable goat that used to sell for 35k at 15k yesterday from the market.

Those who think the sit at home is affecting only the south east should have a rethink as even movement of goods, services and persons to south west and other locations were equally slowed down minimizing the volume of trade....this applied to banks and other agencies of FG.

Indeed, this sit at home favored me as I enjoy my goat pepper soup and enough meat for merry when I go back east by Sunday.
Keep sitting at home and stop disturbing the peace of those of us who don't

IBB should have just handed over...but the Northern guys were threatening fire and brimstone, and Nigeria was in a scary place that 1993.

But honestly, I do not understand why Northern governors in 1993 were threatening fire and brimstone if MKO took over. At best he had 4 years to do his thing, and if he messed up, he got thrown out. 8 years even. But fire and brimstone, and then we got a 'Interim government' and then Abacha came and swept away everything in Nov 1993. Four years later, Abacha was essentially running a personality cult. (It got so bad that people were wearing Abacha badges, buying Abacha televsion and cooking with Abacha stove. And you best not talk out too loud against the man).

We got 5 more years of army rule because some people could not wait 8 years for their turn, and could not accept defeat and were stoking the spirit of 1966-70.

That's when I understood that Nigerians are not interested in development, but only in their side winning.

(I didn't expect MKO to do great...I just wanted us to have civilian government like all our African neighbours. Benin, Ghana, etc were having presidental elections, presidents getting sworn in, and here we were in Nigeria...)
^It wasn't the northern governors who forced Babangida's hand but rather the small click of northern military officers who brought IBB to power. Actually IBB did MKO a favor by not handing over cos those guys swore to kill him which they eventually did anyway

Go to Cameroun, Benin, Ghana, Ivory coast, Gabon, Congo, SA, Mozambique, US, Asia, Europe etc. Igbos are in large numbers in all those places.

With or without Nigeria, it won't stop us from traveling the world. How many Igbos are in the North or Lagos that makes you believe they can't relocate elsewhere with ease?
Then why haven't they done so already?
PoliticsRe: Reason Why Many Igbos Will Prefer Nigeria To Biafra by Roger3D(m): 1:47pm On Jul 06, 2023
Truth is a vast majority of Ibos need the huge Nigerian market in order to survive. This is in contrast with other groups who don't really make much money from the SE market. We should look at their agitation for independence from the prism of them being a major ethnic group and still not able to get the presidency and/or run things in the country.

PoliticsRe: Forfeited $460,000 Was A Civil Matter: Tinubu's Witness, Bamidele Tells Tribunal by Roger3D(m):
It was not a civil affair and since the FBI won't come clean with all the details of what transpired it is best to assume that no one really knows. Also Tinubu cannot be disqualified on that basis because as the same FBI said, there was no criminal conviction. Tinubu is really a smart guy but I still believe he laundered money for drug barons
