layla129:
From my head sir. Just like you said, personal convictions and things i see happening around me.
It's okay if it's from your personal convictions and experience around you. But brandishing it as verity isn't true unless more information is furnished on how cohabition affects intending couples sex life and weakened their chances of getting married among other things you listed.
Romance › Re: Reasons Not To Live Together Before Marriage. by ronald4lif(m): 3:44pm On Apr 28, 2016
Seems your list is based on personal convictions and sentiments with no grounded basis to support your points. Just the number 2 appears factual the rest have no grounds whatsoever.

They don't experience best sex, lest likely to get married and likely to divorce blablabla please where did you pull out this piffle from?
Family › Re: What Is The Essence Of 'bride Price'?. by ronald4lif(m): 3:15pm On Apr 28, 2016
As said by some already, bride price is a culture that has been in practice aeons ago and although not in support of it I'm not against it either. The bride price praxis in itself isn't a problem, the problem is the list that's attached to it. Those tubers of yams, kegs of palm wine, drinks etc should be scrapped. Those items shouldn't be mandatory but voluntarily.

Many keep saying that bride price has been reasonably reduced to 5k or less in most places but that to me isn't the problem. The obscene and irrational list is the problem.

Don't blame it on the bottles mate, you knew exactly what you intended to do but just got blotto to garner moral.

There's nothing you can do to regain your self respect back at this point. You just have to conduct yourself like nothing happened. Perhaps, with time things may get back to normal around her. But never again will she respect and hold in same regards like before.

Once you chyked a lady you bring yourself to her strata and all respect she has for you dissipates, sorry.

Romance › Re: Wrong Things Ladies Consider Before Marrying A Man- DanceVille by ronald4lif(m): 8:28pm On Apr 26, 2016
DanceVille:
Bro! That's why I said considering a man's proposal takes a lot of time.

Are you suggesting a lady should consider physical appearance(handsomeness) to accept a man's proposal? Love and trust is the main purpose of saying Yes to a guy's proposal.
Do you consider a lady's pulchitrudes, ass, boobs etc before dating and marrying them? Are you as an individual attracted to ladies who aren't attractive and appeals to your sultriness? The answer to this is obvious coz I'm near certain that you don't just date any lady without weighing her beauty and charm. Thus, ladies too reserve the right, among other things to consider a man's looks too.

Forget love thing, that's too cliche. Love won't pay the bills and provide the necessary comfort and responsibility that comes with marriage. A lady also reserve the absolute right to evaluate a man's income, resources and ability to provide for her and her unborn kids before saying yes.
Romance › Re: Wrong Things Ladies Consider Before Marrying A Man- DanceVille by ronald4lif(m): 7:52pm On Apr 26, 2016
Are you serious, mate? What do you reckon they consider before marrying a man? Let's start from there before addressing what you listed here.

For once, I absolutely agree with what a male nairalander says.
A girl should not take pride in asking her boyfriend for material things. I personally think it's a shameful thing to do.
Only hungry and rachet girls do that. grin
Leeches be like why is this one ruining show for us? grin

You have got pride and self-respect. A wifey material unlike the spongers we have nowadays who sees relationship as a survival means.
Romance › Re: The Bitter Experience Of Dating A Broke Girl by ronald4lif(m): 6:41pm On Apr 26, 2016

Arrant nonsense. Why should be looking for a man to make a billionaire when she can work to becoming one herself? Or is she allergic to being billionaire.

A man can be rich and his girlfriend or wife broke. If she want to be rich let her get her ass off and hustle like he did. undecided
Romance › Re: EBUBEY Is A Theif!!! "Dating A Broke Guy" Is A Thread I Created Two Years Back!! by ronald4lif(m): 3:23pm On Apr 26, 2016
Oh well. I'm not supporting leeching or dependance on a man under any guise but I fail to see anything wrong in discouraging the idea of dating someone with no stable source of income and defined blueprint on how to make meaning out of their lives.

It is trite as it's basic common sense that money it's essential in the smooth functioning of a relationship and the seethe usually generated whenever such topic comes up its completely insipid and unwarranted. No need to flare up.

However, I'm vehemently against any lady who holds this believe without any stable source of income herself and no cogent schema to better her own life. It's okay to want a well-to-do guy but absolutely stupid if you have nothing positive going on for you.

Why must ur boyfriend impress ur female frndx by buying things for dem?? Dnt they have their own bf or does this means all ladies are beggarshuh

Why must ur dreams be fulfilled through him being financially okay?? U cant struggle for ur own dreams?

If you truly love a guy... u will be proud to show him of no matter how rich or broke he is. Ur relationship shouldn't be based on other pples impression about him.
What's love?

I think you're being idealistic but the writer of the exegesis is realistic. Everyone wants their friends to have a positive impression of their partner, male and female alike. Parading anything otherwise is self-deceit and misleading.

Well, except for anyone who lives in isolation and seclude themselves from friends. Once you've got friends, to positively impress them is indispensable. This I believe you know very much.

Go to the nomination thread and nominate yourself by tagging the organiser of the event and he'll brief you on what next to do.

You stand as much chance to succeed just like every other contestant. And even if you don't there's nothing to lose really. You gather the experience, the fun and learn from it should incase you venture into any other beauty contest in the future. Good luck with that.

Romance › Re: 7 Reasons Why I Am Forced To Agree It's A Man's World by ronald4lif(m): 3:47pm On Apr 22, 2016
Olabestonic001:
I don't think your last statement is correct.
Neither patriarchy or matriarchy is better, but a fairness to all humans. Forget the brainwashed ideology of gender equality, it's the cause of moral decadence. Men and women were never created equal but rather complimentary. A man is the head but I pity my world who sees that as an advantage rather than a grave responsibility and reasons for accountability. The day I began to understand such load, I had to lament that nature favored women far better than men.
Imagine when a lady needs to submit to you as a man and she's smarter or richer. imagine that she's more talented or luckier. To me, men have failed our societies by agreeing with those things that set them apart as "Superhuman " rather than Responsible Creature.

A man who truly understand submission of a wife to him will be far humbler, meeker and loving. But, since like the op, our world had turned manliness to lasciviousness and our women also want a cut in the "Lascivious cakes", frustrations of this world will have no bound till we know that manliness and womanliness are sources of dignities and not equal but supremely distinct.
Fair retort. I'm guessing you assume only women are at the receiving end of a patriarchal society based on the premise of your argument. And you're focusing on the domestic and marriage angle only but that's just a snippet of the myriads of problems associated with patriarchy. The major I think borders around the limitations, stereotypes and social confinement of women's role on politics, religion and career. As much as we may hate to admit it there are some jobs an average lady in Nigeria can't accept for fear of being stigmatized. And likewise men too.

Patriarchy isn't just about all people having the same rights, choices and opportunities. It is about people who were born with a specific type of genitals automatically having more rights, choices and opportunities than the people born with the other type of genitals.

If people choose to live a traditional type of lifestyle, that's fine but purposely limiting all women to a domestic servant role that is subservient to males is not only extremely unjust and unfair, it also limits the potentials of half the human population. In the West, women have equal footing as the men and the resultant effect of this is that their human resources is aggrandized as there's no restriction to the career path both genders can adopt.

When women are compelled into taking a traditional role that is subservient to men or when there are some jobs/career they can't freely accept without being tagged contemptuous names it is a type of oppression and that is why it is wrong.
Romance › Re: The Fallacy Of Unconditional Romantic Love. by ronald4lif(m): 1:05pm On Apr 22, 2016
Nice piece. No such thing as unconditional love. It's a farce.

Even God's love is conditional. His vow to punish sinners and send them to hell makes his love for his 'children' comes with clause and conditions.
Romance › Re: That Awkward Moment When You Are Duped By Your Girlfriend! by ronald4lif(m): 12:58pm On Apr 22, 2016
sapien:
She arranges for a date for both of you to see a movie at the
cinema. She decides to foot the movie bill.

Meanwhile, you pay for the cab to and fro the cinema.
After the movie, she says she is hungry and you order for a
food worth three times the movie ticket.

Who gains, who loses?

Nigerian girls are bunch of smart asses.

On her birthday, you spend for her. On your birthday, you
still spend for her.

You recharge her phone.

You fuel her car tank.

You give her money to fix her hair.

And someone, somewhere would still be championing the
gender equality cause.

We can never be equal. At least, not in this country - Nigeria.

Until Nigeria women take full responsibility for their action
and inaction, we are never equal.
The bold is faulty. A handful of women who champions equality takes full responsibility and are in total control of their sustainability. The ones who don't are cool with the status quo. So do we lump these two together and punish the former for what is ordinarily not their offence?
Romance › Re: What Is The Cost Of Love? by ronald4lif(m): 11:54am On Apr 22, 2016
Love is never free. The energy expanded in putting up constant communication with our partner is humongous and exhausting. The inconveniences one goes through just to please their partner cost so much too. Then the unceasing drama.

I think it's easier to put up with a 9-5 job than being fully committed to a relationship. Still love is a beautiful thing we can't live without.
