Where did they get this figures from sef. Are there really up to 3million Nigerians in the UK? Doubt much. |
Me sef don taya these oyibo people sha. Every grocery get expiry date and they're usually valid for less than 2weeks. Initially, I didn't bother but as time went on I became uncomfortable consuming whatever the label said has expired even though I know doesn't mean sh1t. |
A lot of comment here are implying it's a set up and the man never committed the offence. I think such conclusion is premature as we don't have the detail information of what transpired. For all we know, the man might be guilty and the plaintiff must have thoroughly examined the case to arrive at this verdict. Be that as it may, I believe we should look beyond the surface and handle this kind of problem from it source by evaluating the importance of marrying from Nigeria and bring this women abroad. There are countless cases of Nigerian wives who turn out a monster after their arrival in Britain and the West. Even as there are some which pans out well. The laws here demands the man to leave his home for his wife whenever there's a dispute to forestall violence and provocative reaction. A woman can just wake up, dial the cops and allege verbal or physical abuse and the cops will come kick you out of your home. A house you struggled to acquire. Getting married abroad is like a Trojan horse which hound from within and can destroy a man in no distant time and I believe it's the source of the problem, not the aftermath of plight like that of Mr. Ngene. |
I'm dumbfounded to say the least. Don't know whose side of the story to believe but I can confirm that the practice of getting married in Nigeria and facilitating the wife's relocation abroad is usually counter productive. Sometimes, one feels like the best approach is for Nigeria diaspora men to just get a woman abroad who are already used to life and the lopsided laws favouring women at their place of resident than bring in someone who's alien to such extant laws. I feel pity for Nigerian men settled abroad who are faced with the quagmire of either marrying home or manage the idiosyncrasy of the spoilt and ill-mannered ladies bereft of family values in Western world. Liberal Left politicians sponsored women empowerment legislation has ruin the system and left men in the mud in this part of the world. The UK and the US are the worst countries to get married. No thanks to Lefty leaders. |

Tamee:Halo darl, how's it going? |
Saw a thread somewhere earlier today that implies today is the birthday of Wristbangle and Agarawu23 but can't locate them anymore. I just want to seize this opportunity to wishing the both of you a happy birthday and pray that as you commence this new year may it bring you fulfilment and unprecedented achievement. Yea coming late but better than never. Cheers guys. |
Strahovski:Persuasion is different from begging. To beg is when a favour is being expected and requited but in sexual relations no one party benefits more than the other. Someone is usually meant to make entries and initiate sex, doesn't translate to begging. |
Long overdue. I expect Manchester United to show Louis Van Gaal the boot too soonest. He's equally a disgrace and unfit for the club. |
While Internet banking is the most effective and less cumbersome means to perform banking transactions, Nigerian banks need to do more to ensure identity theft and unauthorised transaction by card holders should be refunded. I've countless times, read different accounts of people whose banking details were tampered with and all their effort to retrieve their money back from their banks were unsuccessful and virtually fell on deaf ears from non-challant bank staff. Such incidence will only discourage more people from taking a leap in online banking experience. I mean if I can't get my money back if I didn't authorise a transaction why would I bother? In the UK, it takes less than a week for banks to reimburse any fraudulent transaction that were unauthorised by card holders. We can do same in Naija. Not go come today and tomorrow till the person is exhausted and gives up the money. |
Aptly written. I think humans are increasingly becoming insatiable and insecure which is a catalyst for a relationship breakdown. More often than not people expect you to give up your way of life and centralise your existence around them just coz you both are involve in an affair. They think and demand that you have to check up on them every time of the day regardless of what your schedule and engagement are, and as soon as you don't their curiosity builds up. Once one don't chat their loved ones up they quickly assume his/her attention is with someone else, though true but not absolute. Every human loves some space and sovereignty and the earlier lovebirds understand and respect it there would be peace. You don't always have to know who he/she talked to or where they have been daily. A relationship shouldn't be a trajectory to servitude and captivity. The quest for self validation would always lead humans to flirt even when they're in a serious relationship, and without the intent to cheat. An attempt to stifle and censor this innate desire to associate freely with opposite sex by wanting your lover not to express themselves will serve as an omen for dispute. In a nutshell, one shouldn't be too inquisitive in finding out about every details of their lover and gives them some freedom. Whilst I'm not dismissing the importance of questioning and challenging suspicious moves by our partners, it should be moderated. |

Emac34:Sure. |
Emac34:I don't subscribe to the true love creed. Love can't be true if there are prerequisite and precondition that must be met. For me, I belong to the school of thought that true love is an illusory and believe in sine qua non and of which a bedwetter is a no. Can't deal. |

I'm inclined to think it's coz of women's innate and habitual urge for comfort and the inane believe that having a car connote affluence. However, some other thing in me is telling me it's coz of the persisting hardship and poor economic welfare that's responsible for such behaviour. In most advanced nations, having a car doesn't make people assume one to be wealthy as it cost nothing. So, the need to impress or attract ladies attention coz you own one doesn't come into play. Agreed, some ladies might still feel impressed, especially when the car is a flashy one, with mobility here but they don't make it that obvious like their Nigerian counterparts who doesn't shield their love for toys and materialism. |
zinachidi:Aptly said. Provided she's happy and contented she doesn't need marriage. If having another kid(s) is a need she can can have one without marrying or even adopt. Also, she can still have a subsisting relationship without appending her signature on a ceremonial piece of paper. Ende. |
Well, never ever bothered nor considered a sexless relationship even for a sec. Perhaps I'd have coped or perhaps not. But I think I'd rather be single than get involve in a sexless affair. I fail to see the point, really. |
stupidity:Haha, where Amaka dey o. Abeg show biko. ![]() |
Don't worry about his to-be new wife, as you've moved on do so completely and face your front. Whatever challenges she faces is hers to worry about and no one else. Except if you're regretting that someone else was able to date and indeed marry the 'chronic womaniser' ex of yours. You think if most women were to quit their relationship/marriage just coz their men cheated the institution marriage would still be in existence today?. I'm not holding brief for philandering men neither am I encouraging it but you see, a lot of men would cheat once the opportunity surfaces and if certain their secret rendezvous won't be exposed. Yea sadly, get over yourselves. |
