Your threads tend to show that the ijaws are related to we the Yorubas one way or another and a myth in Yoruba also claim that Oduduwa a Yoruba dropped from the sky while another state that the Yorubas originated from Egypt/Sudan.

Politics › Re: Exposed. Why Yorubas Oppose Biafra by Rotimi47: 6:16am On Oct 24, 2015 |
mej67: These are the facts -the key points:
1. In 1966 when it became clear that the amalgamation was a ruse, the Igbos at the helm of affairs pointed it out and wanted a split.
2. The Yoruba, initially accepted to pull out also from the alliance whereby the north was causing every other region retardation.
3. But, the Youruba hatched a different plot and made a volte-face and united with the north. Aim -to crush the Igbos. Reason -competition and envy as I explain below:
4. It is on record that the white man (civilisation) came through Lagos colony which existed before 1900 and was, in 1906 merged with remaining southern territories under the British, and the territory was officially renamed the Colony and Protectorate of Southern Nigeria. In 1914, the Southern Nigeria was joined with Northern Nigeria Protectorate to form the single colony of Nigeria. But as time progressed, under pure, clean and fair competition, the Igbos had shot ahead of the Yorubas and all other tribes in Nigeria to be leading in the military, trade and commerce, civil service, transport and real estate. Igbos were the most educated and most widely travelled, existing in all parts of the country at the door steps of Nigerian independence in 1960. This is a long established fact.
5. The reason the Yoruba betrayed the cause and joined the Hausa/Fulani to crush Igbo in 1966, was a way, in their mind, to crush the competition and their envy of the tribe of Igbo.
6. And they succeeded...... The Igbos best brains and youths were mercilessly and brutally crushed in the 30month Biafran war. While the Hausa/Fulani led the brutal edge of the onslaught and genocide, their Yoruba allies provided the brain, the policies and tactical support for complete subjugation of Igbos. These include horrid programmes like economic blockade that led to hunger and malnutrition, the popular 20pounds and the abandoned property policy. Many children, that should have been the brains of today, wasted under hunger and kwashioko. The surviving Igbo males were made to be grateful for not being completely annihilated as proposed actually, and started life all over again with only 20pounds a head.
7. But it was only temporary.....
8. The Igbos defied all odds, all ill-treatments and the age-long marginalisation and survived the conspiracy.
9. It remains a wonder to the Yoruba, that the Igbos they thought they had finished off forever, is now competing with them on equal level in Lagos of all places. The Igbos have even found themselves to be leading with a great margin in some areas like real estate investments (Abuja as a case in point). In politics, education, commerce, transport, etc. the Igbos are more alive today than ever.
10. The Yorubas who thought and expected the Igbos to give up in 1970 and become their house servants and slaves have now become even more bitter.
11. Above is the reason for the ferocious attack on the new rising wave of Biafran agitation. Guess who attacks is the most -Yorubas. They won't attach Niger Delta struggle, they won't ever comment on the killings in the middle belt. They are obsessed with Biafra and IPOB.
12. Many of them (Yorubas) actually know that their alliance with Hausa/Fulani is not working. Today, Nigeria is stagnant as a result. But they are divided. Many are practically ashamed to admit it. Many are very bitter that the Igbos survived. But a few are beginning to wake up to stark reality -IT IS NOT WORKING!!!!!!!

13. In the 2015 election, instead of a united south to face and debunk the born-to-rule and the new i-must-rule-or baboon-and monkey-will-be soaked-with-their-blood, the Yoruba once again broke ranks and united with Hausa/Fulani. The very aim of it was to get at Igbos and the South-South brothers who, for the first time, was beginin to regain their voice and identity.
14, But this time, it is different.
15. The cabinet being cleared has clearly shown that the Igbos are more than a blowing wind. Just see the harvest of the best of Igbos. It is now being touted in the media that Igbo Okechukwu Enelama from Abia State will head Finance.
16. Yorubas, please ponder the current situation. Igbos (Biafrans) are not angry with you. They simply want you to wisen up. Come back home, we are Southerners. Leave the North. Or, just leave us ans stay with them, abeg!!!!!!! Stop trying to twist the truth! The Yorubas never see the Igbos as a rival but the Igbos are the one that envy the Yorubas; Ojukwu & other Igbo leaders met with Awolowo & came up with an agreement but the Igbos betrayed the Yorubas. The igbos even went further to invade a Yoruba town called Ore in Ondo state, Banjo & several Yoruba military men that fought on the side of Biafra since the start of the civil war were killed by Ojukwu after he claimed that they wanted to overthrow him: if I may asked how will a Yoruba man who risked his life to give the Igbos most of the victory they achieved during the civil war try to overthrow an Igbo leader in his own declared country? Let the truth be told as only the Yorubas handed back all the properties the igbos left in Yoruba land in the beginning of the war back to them & the Yorubas were the first tribe to allow Igbos back into their mist before any other tribe in Nigeria, so how will a sensible person lie through his anus? Many people have to go back & do a lot of research on what actually lead to the civil war and what happened during the war rather that listern to only your tribes side of events. |

Some people will always dispute the truth since its not in their favor but what i know is that several horrible things took place during the civil war which if the federal government declassified may lead to ethnic cleansing because some tribes would want to take revenge even if the side they fought on won the civil war.
I have heard from several people & family members who fought in the civil war & I have read lots of books/memos writing by all parties involved in the war; I have compared the informations & it opened my eyes to the truth which some people are trying very hard to play around.
The truth can be hidden for years but one day it will surely be revealed.

flyingsnail: Aka Ikenga Backs Radio Biafra, Warns FG Against Dictatorship
By Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos Igbo Think Tank, Aka Ikenga on Wednesday said the federal government should desist from acts capable of overheating the polity over the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the Director of Radio Biafra. While throwing its weight behind the operation of the radio station, President of the group, Goddy Uwazurike in a chat with Daily Independent, said the federal government through its action wants to suppress freedom of information while hiding under the guise of fighting secession. He said it was the same path the late dictator, Sani Abacha threaded when he tried unsuccessfully to stop Radio Kudirat from operating in the days of NADECO political struggle against military dictatorship. According to Uwazurike “I think the federal government should draw a line between suppression of opinion and fighting what it perceived as secession. Freedom to hold views different from government’s own and freedom to disseminate such views and receive information are fundamental human rights”. ” In the world over, anyone arresting people for operating radio and news media has always ended up being the loser because the world is in favour of protection of Freedom of Information, and not its restriction”. “We therefore, are saying that the federal government is overheating the polity with the arrest of its Director, Nnamdi Kanu. In the South East, the major problem there is not Radio Biafra but preponderance of kidnappers and inability of the security agencies to curtail their activities”. ” We don’t see Radio Biafra as a threat to the peace, unity and security of Nigeria. Radio Kudirat operated here for years. The then government of late Sani Abacha went after them and we all condemned it. So, why won’t we condemn those going after Radio Biafra? Wole Soyinka was in charge of Radio Kudirat with Kayode Fayemi”. “So if today, Fayemi is a Minister in the government that is trying to suppress Radio Biafra, it just doesn’t make sense. We are saying they should let Radio Biafra be and stop the persecution of Nnamdi Kanu. It doesn’t make sense” he said. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/10/aka-ikenga-backs-radio-biafra-warns-fg-against-dictatorship/ Why can't Igbos fight their battle without dragging Yorubas into it? You hate us but are always quick to use us as examples to get your folks out of trouble. Why do Igbos like using Yorubas as a yardstick for their struggle? Abeg, the heaven will always be higher than the earth. |

IamAtribalist:
I am not very surprised. I have always suspected that our amala-eating conehead compatriots are descendants of remarkable forbears. If you have lived among the coneheads you will know what am talking about. There is always this ancient depth and wisdom that underlies their culture and mannerism. Unfortunately, they have been corrupted by a sick Nigerian society and externally imposed religions (Christianity and Islam) -and now they have become the most conniving, cunning and manipulative political sector in the country. However, who can really blame them considering how frustrating/corrupt the Nigerian Zeitgist is. To be righteous in Nigeria is to be a fool. A real big fool.
When I visited South Africa 5 years ago, I met an old Zulu chief who told me the Zulu (his people) traded with ancient Yoruboid/Edoid tribes as far back 700 years before the Europeans came to the the Horn of Africa. Apparently (According to the chief) these conehead amala-eating muthafvckers and their Edo brothers build sea vessels that traveled from Western coast of Africa down to the shores of South Africa. I asked him how he knew they were Yorubas and he said all he knows is that those people came from the same place the present day South Westerners reside today - and the story has been passed on from generation to generation. He said grandfather visited Nigeria pre-independence and was able to swap stories or oral tradition of trade with some of the Egbas of the South West.
We Africans have lost our way. We have allowed the white man to tell us lies about our origin and our destiny. Findings like this should be used to enlighten our people (all over the world) to help us retrace back our steps so we can rule the world again. Who would have thought that the Jewel of the Middle Ages was built right here at home in Nigeria by descendants of our conehead conniving compatriots. Even though I am a tribalist - this is great news not only for Nigerians but Africans and blacks and all of humanity. True as the Brazilians have also been trading with Ile-ife before the so called White guy discovered River Niger; the records are there to show that the Yorubas have been navigating the seas from Africa to Brazil but problem came in when we the Yorubas started having our civil war which lead to slave trade. Though flat heads/chest beaters don't like us & we tend to return their gestures but the truth is that the Southern part of Nigeria is one of God's best gift to Africa & to a larger extent the World. |

Yorubas have been the most accommodating tribe in Nigeria and your have more Igbos living in South West ( Yoruba land ) than any other region outside the south east. I just don't know why some people tend to make funny comments because the Yorubas understand the benefit of commerce while some loud mouth think establishing businesses in the South West make them the main beneficiary! You all need to checkout why the united States is one of the most advanced/developed countries in the world & how they went about it when most countries were super racist. Do people think American Visa lottery to bring in people from all over the world is for you to dominate them as evident in the the funny comments some Igbos like to make? It is a well known fact that territories of any accommodating tribe develops more than those that are less accommodating & the host community & all other people living or carrying out business there enjoy it together not the way some people see it as only they that do business there enjoy the benefits. |
