PoliticsRe: Incessant Insults On The Yoruba's » Igbo Need To Apologize by Rotimi47: 8:34am On Oct 28, 2015
kinibigdeal:
Late Suadauna Bello of Sokoto in an interview once said in quotes "There were less than 23 indigenous Northerners in the Northern Regional service by the time i first became the leader of Government business in Northern Nigeria, the igbos had dominated the public services up until that time, I quickly drafted and pass into law "Northernization policy" where I appointed only British, Indians, Pakistians and Eyptians on contracts basis as public servant while tunning down the applications of Nigerians from the south because I felt the igbos were bent on marginalizing the Northerners which am not going to allow"

Igbo started the slavery they accused the Yoruba of

Awolowo and his Action Group(AG) were ready in 1959 to form a coalition government with NCNC mostly dominated by the Igbos and controled by Azikiwe. The coalition will have made them to push the NPC(dominated by the North) into opposition before independence but the Igbo dominated NCNC under Azikiwe did not want any meaniful collaboration with the Yoruba-dominated Action group led by Awolowo but instead prefer to form a coalition with the NPC dominated by the North, but Awolowo Action group did not want any collaboration with the North because the Northern at that time was always going back into a coalition with the igbo dominated party.
The only Nigeria politicians who made a serious attempt to change the status quo was Ladoke Akintola who try to change the status quo of Nigeria politics by rejecting any attempt by Awolowo to form a coalition with NPC likewise. He formed is own party named Democratic party in the western region which later form a coalition with NCNC creating a counter-force to the Igbos NPC/NCNC. The igbo did not appreciate what Akintola did because they knew their game was over. They could no longer dominate most of the federal jobs. The Igbos did not forgive Akintola till date but many forgot he did what was right at that time. The Igbo preferred a Government headed by Tafawa Balewa to the one proposed by Awolowo because Azikiwe wanted to become the prime minister and Awolowo the finance minister. And that was the turning point till date.

The Yoruba gave the Igbo's Sugar cane but in return, they gave back Bitter Leaf

Most Igbo will tell you that they love the yoruba's but they hate Awolowo, Benjamin Adekunle, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ladoke Akintola or Fani-Kayode(Not Femi please) but the fact is, you cannot claim to love the yoruba's and hate our best leaders. The yoruba loves the Igbo more than they claim to love us

How?

1. Kenneth Olawale, an Igbo man was born in Akure and elected as speaker in Ondo state house of assembly. Who voted for him, the Yoruba's! Can it happen in the East?

2. Ogbuefi Nnendi Azikiwe almost wanted to become the first premier of old western Nigeria region in 1954 supported by a powerful yorubaman Adelabu Penkelemesi, he was voted by the yoruba's but lost out

3. When Awolowo launched free and compulsory education and medical treatment in the west, many igbos parent and their children emigrated to the west in large numbers to take advantages. Yoruba accepted them without resenting them back to the east where Azikiwe couldn't offer such program. Okonjo-Iweala, Ibe-Opadike, Alex Omeke etc are the beneficiaries of free education in the west.

4. Non of the properties left behind in Yorubaland by the Igbo's during the Biafran war were confiscated or taken away by the Yoruba's, like the Rivers people and Ikwere people did to the abandoned properties of the igbo's in portharcourt

5. Odumegwu Ojukwu came back from exile from ivory coast to recover all his father's properties in Lagos, well kept by the Yoruba's

6. Prominent Yoruba citizens like Late Tai Solarin and Wole Soyinka all stood up for the Igbo's right to live in peace

7. At a time no Nigerian of consequence from the North was willing to travel to the east to persuade Ojukwu not to secede, the same Awolowo that the Igbo's hate was the only Nigerians who risked his life to travel down to enugu.

8. Colonel Adekunle Fajuyi of Ado-ekiti land laid down his life to save the life of Aguiyi Ironsi at Agoji Ibadan because he viewed it as betrayer

9. When Igbo's came back with Nothing after the civil war, yoruba embraced them, gave them money, their land and resources in other for them to bounce back. My dad once told me how they hide some igbo's in a cave during the period of the civil war and they fed them for the period of the war?

Igbo should prove what they have done for the Yoruba's? Am not a tribal bigot but I deem it fit to enlightened some Igbo's that fail no know the truth. Yoruba's don't think like the igbo's if Nigeria is ever going to break up, it needs not to be by force or by war but by consensus. The yorubas are the consulate diplomate in Nigeria. Igbo have never acknowledge that yoruba have been kind to them at any point in history.

Igbo have done yoruba harm than good
My family also kept many Igbos safe from the beginning of the war to the end even though some of my relatives fought on the war front but thank God they all survived.

PoliticsRe: S’court Ruling: Nobody Can Steal My Mandate, Says Wike by Rotimi47: 8:16am On Oct 28, 2015
ORACLE1975:
The Supreme Court has ruled that the relocation of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal from Port Harcourt to Abuja is in order.

In a ruling on Tuesday, the Supreme Court held that the relocation of the tribunal to Abuja did not vitiate the jurisdiction of the tribunal to hear and determine the petition challenging the election of Governor Nyesom Wike.

The Justice Mohammed Ambrosa-led tribunal had on Saturday in its judgment on the petition by the All Progressives Congress and its candidate in the April 11, 2015 election, Dakuku Peterside, nullified Wike’s election and ordered a fresh poll to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

In its judgment on an appeal challenging the tribunal’s jurisdiction on Tuesday, the Justice John Fabiyi-led seven-man panel of the Supreme Court in its unanimous judgment dismissed Wike’s appeal as lacking in merit.

According to the lead judgment read by Justice Amiru Sanusi on Tuesday, the Supreme Court held that the President of the Court of Appeal justifiably directed the tribunal to relocate to Abuja in view of “the tense atmosphere of insecurity in Rivers State at that material time.”

But Wike has said that the people of the state would resist any attempt to steal the mandate they gave to him.

Wike, who was reacting to the verdict of the Supreme Court on the jurisdiction of the Rivers State Election Petitions Tribunal, maintained that the court decision was part of the gang-up against the people of the state.

Speaking on Tuesday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, the governor declared that his adversaries were making moves to steal the mandate given to him by the people of the state.

According to him, “The judges should be careful; the courts should be careful because the mandate was given to Governor Wike, which his adversaries are trying to steal through the backdoor by going to the court.

“Rivers people will definitely want to protect that mandate and will resist any attempt to steal it from Governor Nyesom Wike.

“Rivers people will not resign themselves to fate and allow their mandate freely given to Governor Wike stolen away. I enjoin all the political and judicial coup plotters to give this a penetrating thought. We shall defend our mandate. The voice of the people is the voice of God and the people have spoken; it is Wike or no one.”

The governor said that despite the Supreme Court verdict, the APC should not be under any illusion that it was about occupying the Government House in Port Harcourt.

He added, “As of the time when the tribunals were set up, the Court of Appeal and the Federal High Court were sitting. The state was also peaceful. Why move the juridical seat to Abuja? The answer is simple; to subvert the will of the people.”

Reacting, the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Chris Finebone, said it was wrong for Wike to say that the people’s mandate belonged to him.

Finebone argued that the party and its governorship candidate would not have gone to court if the mandate actually belonged to Wike.

He said, “It is our (APC) mandate and not Wike or PDP’s mandate, otherwise we would not have gone to court. We were not allowed to choose our representatives. Believe me, if we have a free and fair election, the APC will win. All we asked for was a free and fair election, which we did not get.”

Calling on the state PDP and Wike to accept the ruling of the courts and stop criticising the judiciary, Finebone assured that the APC would continue to abide by the decisions of the courts.

He maintained the APC was not stealing anybody’s mandate through the backdoor, adding that going to court to seek redress was the best the APC did rather than resorting to self-help.

“For us in the APC, we don’t know what would warrant anybody to talk about the judiciary in such a manner. If the court rules, it should be obeyed. Our concern is that we will continue to abide by the rule of law.

“Going to court is not stealing. So, I do not know where stealing comes in. We went to court and that means that we are mindful of the law and not ready to resort to self-help,” the state APC publicity secretary said.

If BIAFRA separate from Nigeria, The Hausa/Fulani will seize Yoruba land, they first of all invade Lagos and install emir as they did in Kwara and continue their conquest until they occupy all the land, fear of Igbos is what is making them to drawback now, when I was in the north they use to call few Yoruba people living there Baraleba.
You people like lying through your anus! Check your history properly and you will discover that it's only the Yorubas that have single handedly defeated the Fulanis in an all out war; usman Dan fodio and all his Fulani and fellow Islamic army were mercilessly defeated by the Yorubas when they tried to spread violently spread islam to the South after they have easily defeated the Hausas.

Usman and his remaining forces never recovered from that defeat the Yorubas handed them; as for Ilorin that most of you Igbos who are not children of history tend to mention in your argument was all about afonja an Ilorin Yoruba war general who planned a coup against his Oba( king ) with the support of his friend alimi a Fulani and he prevailed because afonja was a powerful war general who had lots of supporters but he won't have won if the Oba requested for other Yoruba kingdoms for help, likewise the full support afonja got from alimi gave afonja the victory over his Oba and he became king.

This afonja who forcefully made himself king gave alimi and his Fulani kinsmen free movement in Ilorin so as to compensate them but after some years alimi went to war with afonja and afonja after several months of doing battle against the Fulani requested for help from his Yoruba kinsmen who initially refused due to afonja treachery but they later sent troops but alas! It was late when they got close to Ilorin as news got to them that afonja is dead as a result of the defeat he suffered from the fulanis.

The Yoruba troops had to return because the person who of afonja who they see as a betrayal is dead though they tried to later help him due to the Yoruba factor but it's not worth it again since he is dead.

Let me state this; the Fulani only installed a ruler in Ilorin which is just one town in kwara state as they couldn't spreed their testicles outside Ilorin due to the other Yoruba towns and villages coming together as one.

Let me state that the Yorubas are known to be seasoned professional warriors who have fought several other tribes before the British and some Yoruba kingdoms also fought the British but the British only won when they brought in their war ships which shelled those Yoruba kingdoms into submission.

Let me ask you the Igbos, how many wars have you ever fought & won? Have you ever won any war against another tribe before the British came or even when they came to colonize present day Nigeria?

The answer is capital NO.

Now let analysis what kwankwanso actually said, he tried to persuade the Yorubas not to see the Fulanis as their enemies because the Fulanis are mostly illiterates who seem not to understand what the law of the land say on grazing; those who said he mentioned shut up are simply economical with the truth as we all know that its even the igbos who are the main people clamouring for secession and it might be a jibe at them.

Let me state that the Fulani can never win a war against the Yorubas even if they get all the support of all their allies; they all know that it will lead to a Yoruba victory which will then lead to the division of Nigeria as you the Igbos and other tribes who are secretly seeking for Nigeria to divide since they don't want to go to war as they are not sure which side the Yorubas will support if another war breaks out.

No tribe can or will trick the Yorubas to go to war so that they can use such to get what they term as freedom and I will say to such tribes; fight your own war & we will fight our own war if any arises and several clashes that took place with we the Yorubas in modern time from kwara to Lagos, Ogun to Oyo, Ondo state & even the support we gave our cousins show that we are very capable in terms of holding our own without forming any alliance with other tribes.

Let the truth be known, only 2 tribes can divide Nigeria without bloodshed and they are the:

1.The Hausas.

2. We the Yorubas.

If any of the 2 make up their mind that they have enough of Nigeria, then that's the end but if not; any other thing na joke.

And funny enough, Edo IGR is 4 Times that of Ekiti the Yoruba state with the highest number of phantom professors! grin
And only Ogun in SW bettered Edo.

This is a proof of the fact that Edo is higher than Yorubas. Indeed this shows that Oduduwa the progenitor of Yoruba race was actually an Edo man, and that Oba was indeed an Edo man.

Edo has historically been ahead of SW, now see why the rejected being under Yoruba subjugation in Western region, but instead sought for and fought for the establishment of the Midwest region.
What a funny statement! Oduduwa was never a Edo person but he rather sent his youngest son to rule the Edos.

Check out this analysis bellow:-

South West revenue without kwara state which is classified as North - 333.4b

South East - 61.1b

South South. - 180.2b

Now let add South East & South South with all the crude oil that our oiyel people are always making noise about

241.3b that is it is still short of 92.1b after comparing SE+SS - 10 states to SW - 6 states.

Please do the maths.

They can only go home when Nigeria divide. Kwankwaso have told you people to shut up, that anywhere you live in Nigeria is your home, Lagos is the home of Igbo people living it, currently occupying 45% and paying their tax for good of Lagos their home.
Kwankwaso never used said shut up but he rather pleaded by saying the Fulanis are illiterates and as such they don't know that they're wrong & please stop saying Igbos make up 45% of Lagos population because Igbos only make up 15 to 18% of Lagos population.

As per your claim that they pay tax can't be disputed because most people that are eligible to pay tax do pay & Igbos contribute less than 8% in terms of tax distribution and tax is also paid to eastern state governments by Yorubas who work and those that do business there, so issue of tax doesn't warrant the kind of noise Igbos make since People of diverse ethnic groups pay tax wherever they do business.

Finally, let me state that the highest percentage of tax comes from company tax( multinationals, factories, banks etc), others comes from payee, property taxes etc, so people should get their facts right.

pazienza:
The recent development in Rivers state that saw Wike lose his electoral mandate with a re run to be scheduled is quite an intriguing one.

There seem to be a grand plan by the central government controlled APC to seize control of two of Nigeria most lucrative states of Rivers and Akwa-Ibom. This plan in Rivers is being hatched using willing tools
in the state.

In the center of all these is Wike, the embattled governor of the state, and also the flag bearer of PDP in the state,
In the lead up to the last election, he had the then PDP controlled FG behind him, and easily coasted to victory at the polls using all the state apparatus at his disposal.

But this time around, he is in an uncharted territory, the FG apparatus is not in his favour, his master GEJ is out of power and isn't of much help to him now, worst still his arch rival, Amaechi has grown in leaps and bounds with the help of the APC controlled FG. The clouds are gathering above him.

It is believed that the population of SE Igbos in Rivers state is massive and second only to those of Rivers indigenes, , Wike during the last elections sensed this and made sure he won the Igbo votes by appealing to the Igbo emotions, Wike was seen portraying himself as Ojukwu, and the APC as enemies.
The akwa ibom people come next in terms of population in rivers.

CrimeRe: Biafra: The Nigerian Civil War In Pictures (Warning Disturbing Images) by Rotimi47: 8:17pm On Oct 25, 2015
zendy:
To your 5 points I say this.(1) The secession of eastern Nigeria as Biafra was far more valid and sacrosanct than the existence of Nigeria because unlike Nigeria where the British used superior military power to force different ethnic groups together without their consent,Ojukwu sought and obtained the permission of the Eastern Nigeria consultative forum (the body representing all the districts in eastern Nigeria) before he declared Biafra.

(2) You should remember that the timing of the secession. Ojukwu declared Biafra in line with Gowon reneging on the Aburi accord by dividing eastern Nigeria into states. It left Ojukwu without the ample time to arms as he would have wanted to before war erupted.

(3)There was enough investment in food production, infact, there was an initiative for aggressive food production to feed the masses however,in the war situation it was not sustainable. The largest food producing area like Abakilki was lost early in the war.

(4) Ojukwu did not declare Biafra just because of defence alone although just the fact that over 30,000 easterners were massacred under Gowons administration was enough reason to seceed. What kind if person stand by and watches over 30,000 people murdered but still chants 'one Nigeria'? Ojukwu was forced to seceed by a combination of Gowon breaking the Aburi accord he signed in Ghana by creating States, the continued massacre of easterners and the overwhelming mandate given to him to pull the eastern region out if Nigeria. Either way you look at it,Ojukwu had the moral high ground to declare Biafra.

(5)remarkably,countries like France and Portugal did lend support to Biafra although it was no where near the huge support Gowon and Nigeria got from Britain,Russia and the Arab league. Despite all that,Biafra still fought on for 3 years. You can imagine what would have obtained if the support had been equal. Biafra represented the right of a people to be free and it still does.
The igbos got lots of support in terms of arms, training & foreign fighters, even some Yoruba military experts fought on the biafran side but the reason they lost is as a result of Biafra invading Ore a Yoruba town in Ondo State; this resulted in many Yorubas who initially sat on the fence to enlist in military that went on to win the war.

If the igbos can stop all these hate against the Yorubas & simply channel the energy towards legally fighting for what they believe; they will be far better for it as more people might support them because you cannot win a fight like this by hating on people but you rather need all the support you can get.
