I dont think where we are today (the success recorded) in our fight against corruption is too bad. I think we are too impatient and everything thing about us must be the usual 'fire brigade' approach. What I mean is not tolorating corruption, but in realizing that steadily and purposefully, we can overcome or reduce corruption to the bearest minimum in this country but that can not be achieved in a day. If we'll be honest with ourselves, we'll agree that it took almost all of our years of existence to nurture this monster and killing it won't take - in my opinion - even two successive administrations. Corruption has become almost normal to us and we see that everywhere everyday. Having said that, like the VP said; “I don’t think that the people, especially the civil society have shown enough outrage that one expects in order to consistently beam searchlight on the perpetrators...where are the campaigns, we should be able to point out these persons so that they will not be able to spend these monies." Take the recent Kachikwu/Baru saga for instance. People are already taking sides. As a people, if we, irrespective of where we come from, after waiting and nothing comes out of this matter, throng the streets of our major cities demanding for justice, things will definitely change. |
moshino:I wonder o! |
Fyi0:Sorry about that. I didn't really mean to hurt. Ndo o |
Yyeske:You might be right but look at it this way. The method adopted by Kanu may have been bad but the agitation is/was not completely bad. Observing from the sidelines, I can confidently say nobody or group truly cares about the welfare of the Igbos like the Onia led Ohanaeze. Their mild condemnation of IPOB but subtle support for the agitation was purposeful and has some political benefits to the eastern region, just that our youths (as expected though) can't see what the elders are seeing and therefore are misbahaving and insulting their elders. Believe me, if Ohaneze will completely take advantage of the positive side of the agitation, with the support of the youths (that is if they wake up), subsequent administration will never subline the region again. Ohaneze should make further moves to; - sensitise, reorientate and incorporate the youths fully of/in the political rebirth of the region. - douse the tension caused by the activities of IPOB both within and outside the region through peaceful and friendly meeting (a sort of, wine and dine as we rob minds). - move closer to the corridors of power through pressure, negotiations and involvement. Our elders are wise! |
Fyi0:I am sorry bro. I don't normally respond to comments with insults and abuses. Sorry if I offended you. |
agbangam:Don't mind (some) Nigerians. the only people that want to drive forward on reverse gear. We want a decent society but without decency and discipline in our actions. If China, North Korea achieve any great feat, we will be quick to compare and condemn Nigeria but in those countries, Government fully own and regulated internet facilities, even e-mails are checked. There is no country that allows absolute freedom of (press) information and even speech, not even the pretentious US. |
vedaxcool:The way Nigerians react to everything in an emotional way surprises me. Are we saying anybody should just go on air and say anything because we are in a democracy? We all watch and listen to foreign media outfits. Even certain words are not allowed on air. Nigeria mata tire me sha |
freshboi88:This is how a reasonable Nigerian should think and talk. |
If I talk now, dem go say I talk. I wonder why people will always choose and follow emotions over reason. According to him; "This is a Northern agenda to cleanse the entire igbos." How can the North cleanse the 'entire' igbos? Are we that weak and vulnerable? What exactly is the agenda of the north? To islamize or to cleanse? These Northerners must be gods in themselves and over others. Barr. Ify, I think you know what you are doing but it's a dangerous game you are playing. |
What bothers me most is that we Africans believe the whites are racist, exploiters, enslavers etc but always look up and run to them for help/support. Almost like we can't survive without them. They may be ahead of us in some areas of life and that's not because they are superior but because they have existed as nations/countries many years before us, keep improving on their 'little' beginnings (in additions their exploitations). |
Unfortunately, the President does not have the powers to grant your demands. Restructure! Restructure!! Just imagine these same people being Governor(s) general of the various regions. |
tobiasbeecher: ![]() I like smart people! Thank God you didn't answer the question. But as per "if the army invade your house and started started shooting and killed some people and thereafter, you started looking for your brother who would you ask about the whereabouts of your brother?" That's what I am saying. Shouldn't it be NK's immediate family's place to mourn or ask for the whereabouts of their son? Has Nk's brother openly declared his brother might be dead or missing? |
unohbethel:Alright. Till tomorrow. |
tobiasbeecher:Do you believe NK is dead or in NA's custody? |
tobiasbeecher:Alright. Agreed. Can you now answer my question? |
decasey:The one we have in Nigeria ![]() |
starstunna1313:Me too ![]() And I pray you live up to 180...no, 200 years ![]() |
I can't wait to see what the NASS and EFCC will do about this should the Presidency look the other way. |
starstunna1313:I like the sincerity. Once again, NK has a right to a lawyer and Ify also has a duty to defend his client. But like those guys said, I think he might end up complicating the whole issue by claiming NK is missing or dead. If Nk's right had been breached and his property destroyed, Ify should sue the FG for remedies and not to play this game. |
gidgiddy:Thank you. Now are you saying the real crux of the matter is the legality/illegility of the operation python dance II declared by the NA and not whether Nk is dead or in their custody? my point was he or IPOB accusing/sueing the NA for NK's whereabouts. Now tell me, do you believe NK is dead or in NA's custody? |

Target? Well, I can't say the NA entered Kanu's house or not. But my point was he or IPOB accusing/sueing the NA to for NK's whereabouts. Now tell me, do you believe NK is dead or in NA's custody? |
starstunna1313:NK has the right to a lawyer and Ifeanyi Ejiofor, defending his client against any form of injustice is right. But, my point was he or IPOB accusing/sueing the NA for NK's whereabouts. Now tell me, do you believe NK is dead or in NA's custody? |
Rawani:Chaiiii! Some people can be heartless. Please, just take it easy with them...it's just politics of opposition (or maybe incitement and indictment). No 'harm' intented ![]() As for me sha, I no gree. Jubrin is not my President. |
gidgiddy:One problem I have with those who think they are smart is that they think every other person is a fool while they are wise. Was NK the only person (as in family) in the house when the alleged operation took place? Where are his father, mother and brother now? NK's brother was on air telling everybody his father was taking to an undisclossed facility for treatment and that they are safe just that some IPOB members where killed. Was it that the NA killed some persons and even a dog, killed or kidnapped NK and his family are not mourning their great son? Can IPOB and Ifeanyi Ejiofor be more concerned or mourn NK more than his family members? How do you want me to believe NK's brother, mother or father (who raised an alarm that the FG was planning to kill his son), will suddenly be quiet about their son's death/disappearance? I had predicted long ago that IPOB wants to use this guise to make NK evade his appearance in court knowing he might be remanded. But this move is lame. 1. NK's credibility will be affected as only gullible, undecerning fellows will take him serious after he bragged he can never run away from the zoo army instead, the zoo army will run from him. 2. Will he hide forever? Will he change his identity? He had broken almost all known laws in Nigeria but not appearing in court will be a disaster because one day, some day he will definitely reappear. The Nigerian government may be... but Nigerians aren't stupid. So stop that cheap, unintelligent propaganda. |

Thank you Kachikwu for being honest and courageous. PMB needs to address this issue wisely and timely before our oil and gas sector suffers another setback. Emotions are already high and fingers pointing bitterly to a particular direction. The ND youths, if they perceive the slightest threat to their dignity, will borrow the devil's tools and that won't be too good considering the uprising in a nearby region. |
Una don start! Evangelist, if APGA wins I am sure you will commend INEC for conducting a free and fair election and say it's victory for democracy. But if APC wins, you will say you told us about their plan to rig in conjunction with NA, NPF and INEC while APC will sing the aforementioned song. I wonder when we will outgrow this 'politics of incitements' in Nigeria. |
wordbank:Something tells me you are correct ![]() |
fastgyal:You are pretty also |
Op, I am not sure that's the photo of Chidi Okoroafor. |
The first thing that came to mind; if one of these were to be my wife, what will I do? Sincerely, I don't know just yet. |
