magoo10:Mr International community! I am very sure Biafra will be governed by either Israel or United States, whoever is the stronger while elections will be conducted by UN or EU. |
Op, you are always trying to appear intelligent (or logical) but intelligence isn't using mere rhetorics. I find it hard to understand how almost all the notable people in Igboland had written, talked and presented their facts/reasons why this agitation should be done with caution and properly, yet, young, inexperienced but self-conceited young men will always put reason aside, girdle themselves with unbriddled emotions that will surely lead them to damnation. Let me ask you this. How would you feel if a group of people conduct theselves in this same manner in Biafra when it comes? From my observations, alot of Nigerians would want Biafra to come but this foundation of lawlessness, absolute disregard for constituted authorities and disrespect for elders will surely be the bane of Biafra. I was happy when I saw the topic but unfortunately, you carried on with thesame thing that has brought so much disdain for the struggle and unfortunately too to the Igbos. I think it is time to lie low, make for peace while restrategizing. It's absolute insanity to expect a different result when the methods remain constant. if we want other Nigerians to love us, lets stop insulting others, embrace peace and love them. |
horsepower101:You are very correct. But we are not supposed to "go back to tolerating injustice." We can team up as a people to fight injustice. I guess the move by this group is a step in the right direction and should be commended by any reasonable, peace-loving, progressive mind. You don't create and build a nation (in the name of fighting injustice) through lawlessness. |
Promismike:Because you have noticed that your empty cry of "no election in Anambra" has failed and your ofe nsala is likely going to 'gba'uka' - go sour since are will likely eat it alone, you are now trying to bring in sentiments. I can assure you, that will fail also. |
months:Why are you always talking rubbish! "Nnamdi Kanu said the killings from the North will eventually arrive at the East. That is wat we are seeing." Nnamdi Kanu said...and you are proud of that? May God save your soul! |
Each time I remember them, I feel very bad. I can only imagine the pain in their hearts now. Even if Kanu didn't talk about them, can't the Elders in Igboland (especially, Ohaneze n'digbo) do something about them? This is not fair ![]() Today, everybody talks about Kanu (even now that he is hiding for a few days). We all tend to regard some peoples lives better than the others. |
I am proud of the people of Anambra...and then, Enugu. No wonder you are leading... |
GavelSlam:You are quite right but I wish they could all be gathered and reared in a sucluded enclosure. You can't possibly imagine how I feel at the sight of that creature called snake...ironically, if you give me a well prepared hmm...hmm, I go cho... |
MissChievous199:Thank you! |
MissChievous199:Where do you think Nigeria would've gone to? Nigeria will be here. Unless Jesus comes. |
FortifiedCity:Let them go abeg |
TheCabal:Hahahahahahaha... ![]() You people will not kill somebody on NL. |
Tolexander:That's the irony of life my brother. There is no paradise on this side of life. I wish my brothers here understand this. |
Ö gidgiddy:Following your line of reasoning, will it be safe to say that if we have 'one Nigeria' and then Nigerian unity is 'pointful,' we won't need laws, rules and regulations, the police and other security organization to guide our actions? Yes, one man's hate speech can make "people get slaughtered elsewhere" no matter how united they were. It all starts fron eroding the love, trust and confidence we have one for another and then bitterness sets in and finally... this has been proven over and over. If you'll be honest, you'll agree that the OPD was neccessary and it was for our good (not bringing in extrajudicual killings if there were any). |
Unfortunately or rather, fortunately, you are not the President. Wait till you become. |
"When the INEC officials got tired finally, they went in front of Senator Dino Melaye's office and dumped all their documents there." Was this a good idea? What if he claims he never saw those documents after collaborating with hoodlums to evacuate them? |
CaptainG00D:You think Kanu will be dead and his family will be silent? His brother talked about his father, that he was recieving treatment in an undisclossed facility. They are all safe...he is just trying to play smart. And note, when you hear his house was besieged, it's mere propaganda. The NA never went there to arrest or attack him. |
RomeSankara:Just like the one we have now is being abused. So you see, the wrong is not in the idea/strategy, it is in the nature of most people to always look for ways to defraud others given any slightest opportunity. |
RomeSankara:I think you were right when you said "We need to start reasoning beyond sentiments." No matter how hard we try, people will always look for loopholes to propagate corruption. But look at it this way. - Is it that Dangote Group will no more have their Annual Financial Report (Prepared in accordance with FRS - IFRS) audited? - is it that the Groups CIT ordinarily can't be properly computed/evaluated? - is it that that value of the work done can't be fairly determined? Now. Dangote finishes the project and claims he spent #2trillion. The groups Annual Reports and Accounts show a tax liability of #1.2trillion. The Federal Ministry of Work hire an independent foreign auditing firm to evaluate and give a fair value and they say #1.9trillion for instance, what do you think will happen. "If tomorrow every company in Nigeria say they want to fix infrastructure in lieu of Tax rebates," I don't think "a new Era of Tax evasion an corruption would have started." As a matter of fact, that will be better for us provided the right financial and accounting standards and followed. Look. Tax collection involves a lot of cost and there are higher chances of misappropraition and embezzlement of funds. The planning and execution of projects also involve a lot of cost - project design, bidding and selection processes, mobilization and 'kick-backs' etc. To me, it's even better for coys to 'pay' their taxes directly through executing projects provided the process is fair and accountable. |
OnucheAdams:Which do you prefer? To have the work done (mind you, it was budgeted for but funds not approved for it) or to let it go because NASS refused to approve it? |
RomeSankara:The reasons for imposing tax is to finance public infrastructure and this is a direct (and maybe, more efficient) way to use taxation for its purpose provided there is fairness and accountability. If govt collects the amount for that project through FIRS (which incurs cost - cost of collecting tax and may be embezzled) and uses it for that purpose or 'collects' the equivalent directly (without the cost of collecting tax) in terms of the project, I think they are thesame, though I would prefer the later. Provided there is fairness and accountability, i.e, the project will be properly valued. We've been told foreign auditing firm(s) will evaluate the cost. So, for me, if the value of the work done by Dangote is equivalent to the CIT he would have paid, there is no wahala. My only problem is that our govt keeps making the strong stronger. |
This whole idea/strategy sounds cool since one of the reasons for imposing tax is to finance public infrastructure and this is a direct (and maybe, more efficient) way to use taxation for its purpose provided there is fairness and accountability. But I share MaziOmenuko's sentiments. The NASS should not be allowed to continue like this. If this continues, I foresee a time the NASS will hand-twist and blackmail the Executive into carrying out their biddings. |
kenonze:Hi |
paschu:Mr comprehensor. Once again, we will know where this leads you. Continue! |
paschu:Please tell me how you are fighting injustice in clear terms. |
You people should continue to promote hatred and spread bitterness, at the end, we will know who suffers most. Just keep it up! |

davibid:That's ok. |
davibid:Me? Hate him? Ok, give me 30 lashes but I don't hate him. As for being "still ambiguous rather than to be precise," please read my conversation with CaptainFM1 and PointZerom, I couldn't just repeat what I'd said here. FFK is an intelligent guy, but if you will be fair-minded, you would agree with me that he is being manipulative, that's all. |
CaptainFM1:Agreed. By the time we have Biafra, we will be united. I would rather we salvage this marriage than having it severed. But if we can't truly cope, then let's part in peace. |
CaptainFM1:Bros don't attempt to digress. So secession is the historical and cultural identity of the Igbos? Do you know what that suggest? That the igbos have a culture of always... Don't go there o! Even in marriage, no party to the marriage wakes up one morning and goes away like that no matter how unbearable the union might be. Until the right customary and legal procedures are followed, if you like leave you wife and go to Ghana and marry another woman, the one you left is still your wife. So bro., if you need divorce, follow the laid down procedure and stop attacking your 'inlaws.' |
davibid:What I know and my objective 'criticism' is that what he said in that paragraph and a few others aint true. They are baseless, motivated by hate, ladened with emotions and intented to incite the weak and vulnerable against another. |
