His legacy is on the line and history will remember his faults more. Just ask past leaders. Few will remember what he was called. Most will remember how he reacted. It might be true every President gets insulted everyday, but Kanu's case is beyond mere insults. If it were, Fayose, FFK, Reno and others would have come under serious attack. But have you ever heard the President respond to those insults? Remember what happened to Amechi, Tambowa, Tinubu, Okadigbo etc. |

You might feel you are hurting some other persons, while in reality, you are hurting yourself. Hatred makes you vulnerable. It invades the mind and corrupt it from rational thinking. Nothing stops ejiofor from defending NK as his client. And if he feels he should defend his people from injustice and military brutality at the UN, he can do that as a true, loyal citizen of the eastern region as a person. I am not a lawyer, but I don't think he can or should use the property of the FGN to attack the sovereignty of the nation. I never condemn his intention to defend his client and region. Daboomb: It is one thing to act as Cousel to your Client and take briefs. It is another thing to use the Seal of the NBA (which is not a personal property of any Lawyer but that of, one of the three Arms of the Nigerian govt (Judiciary) in a letter attacking Nigeria and putting Nigeria in a bad light.
It gets even worse when Ejiofor tries to legitimise and legalise the concorted, propaganda and lies of his brief, by putting a Nigerian, National Seal (Nigerian Bar Association, NBA) on such private and personal letter.
Ejiofor as a lawyer, should have been aware that the NBA comprises of not just himself or IPOB supporters but that it is a non-partisan organisation of Lawyers from all parts of the country and to use it in a letter originating per a brief from someone who says Nigeria is a Zoo, he will burn down Nigeria, solicited money and bought Arms to fight the Nigerian govt, e.t.c amounts to recklessness and abuse of priviledge.
Barrister Ejiofor's action is capabe of politicising the NBA, plunging it into rancour, tribal agitations and bring the noble profession/organisation to disrepute.
We hereby call on the NBA to discipline Barrister Ejiofor and debar him from practicing henceforth. The body of benchers should also withdraw his Law license immediately. He should also withdraw that letter he wrote or be arrested, tried and jailed for spreading falsehood, incitement and propagating hate speeches.
Now that Nnamdi kanu is A BONAFIDE TERRORIST and his IPOB organisations has been declared a terrorist organisation, l hope everyone knows what it means and the criminal implication of associating with, being a member-of or operating on behalf of A TERORIST ORGANISATION?

Following series of analysis from the Nigerian Army on the activities of IPOB over the years and the recent fracas between IPOB and the Nigerian army, the Nigerian Army finally declared IPOB a militant group. The information was conveyed to the general public through the Director Gen. Defence headquarters. He advised parents to caution their children from joining the group and the general public, especially those in the southeasthern states to distance themselves from the group. Meanwhile, the Southeasthern Governors had appealed to President Muhamadu Buhari to withdraw the Nigerian Army from the region while they look for ways to curtail the activities of IPOB in the region. The Chairman of the Southeastern Governors forum, Dr. Dave Umehi read the communique after the meeting which was held today. Details later. |

obailala: You are totally right about this ma'am. But something I'd like to point out is that a Biafra without at least, one of the coastal states is economic suicide.
In my own opinion, the actual mistake of 1967 which is being repeated 50 years later is that Nnamdi Kanu/IPOB has not thought it wise or necessary to intellectually engage the southern minorities to win their trust and support. This was about the biggest error made in 1967 when even the closest neighbours of Igboland did not trust/support Igbos, but rather were forcibly dominated anyway.
50 years later, that issue of lack of trust and unity between the SS minorities and Igbos which greatly hindered the previous war effort still hasnt been solved, but IPOb just seems to be deluded with a fake sense of southern unity (probably because of the united voting pattern in the last election).
It must be pointed out that the only strength the north has in Nigeria's political affairs is their ability to be united when they need something. Until the south learns to be united, it will continue to be at the receiving end of the domination of the north. Even IPOb hasnt thought it wise to maturely engage the SS but rather just assumes the SS minorities are in support of their campaigns (probably because of the common enemy). "It must be pointed out that the only strength the north has in Nigeria's political affairs is their ability to be united when they need something." Bro., that's just the truth. So when people accuse them of 'born to rule mentality,' I just laugh. The Hausas and Yorubas take elections seriously and position their own in key positions but not so with the others. Take for example. In the last election, even in the heat of boko haram - it was even reported that there were attacks in some of the voting units - yet they came out to vote just to make sure Buhari wins. But what do we do in the south? 'Oboy leave those people, dem go still rig the election.' Today, instead of fighting to elect the best for Anambra state, the Igbos are busy shouting "no election in Anambra state" while a 'stranger' like 2face is sensitising Anambranians on "vote not fight." I think it's time to wake up! |

attackgat: Those nations would have followed the rule of law according to their constitution which is what I expect Nigeria to do.
Whst did Kanu do?
He flouted his bail conditions? The law says only the courts can revoke his bail not the federal government
He said he wants Biafra? He is allowed to agitate for anything he likes under chapter 4 of the constitution.
He commited treason? He is already in court for that
He formed BSS? Anyone can form any group and call it any name. What matters is what the group does. Has BSS touched anyone?
Has Kanu or IPOB taken up arms? No
So what is this incredible thing Kanu has done ti warrant bringing in.Soldiers and shooting up the place?
How many times has the federal government reacted this way when herdsman massacre people all over Nigeria? But it is Kanu who had no gun that they came after. In as much as you didn't answer my question directly, I must say I appreciate your stance and agree with most of your points. I am not actually happy with the way the FGN is handling the Fulani herdsmen/communities crisis. As a matter of fact, this is the greatest bane of this administration. But to compare the herdmen's activities with NK's activities isn't correct. While one is a national security problem, the other is a national threat. Yes, the sovereignty of the nation is being threatened and no responsible government tolerates rebels. Talking about BSS, that was a terrible mistake. BSS is a 'paramilitary' outfit. How do you run a parrallel govt in a soveriegn state? I repeat, I do not support and will never support violence. But when one man challenges the other to a fight and then the other accepts the challenge and both engage in a combat, I honestly don't see any reason one, irrespective of who is stronger or weaker, should cry of oppression. I just remembered a sister who will provoke you to hit her, and when you want to hit her, she screams; 'don't hit me here, hit me in this other place.' Finally, NK's father is the traditional ruler (Igwe) in his place. Please tell me the truth, if any of his subjects looks at him in the eyes and say - for instance - Igwe, you are an osu, an idiot and a curse to our kingdom. Will he walk out of that palace smiling? |

No point fighting in vain....... It might actually be possible for the dead to win an agitation and thus, not a fight in vain - if the fighter doesn't live the see the result he is fighting for, the next generation can. But the real issues here now are; - What are you agitating for? - What's the justification for your agitation? - How are you going about your agitation? - What clear, specific, concrete, communicable ideas/strategies do you have in place? - Who are you agitating for? Are they wholeheartedly with you in the agitation? Concerning the case at hand, why attract violence and the death of your people when, not even the BOUNDARIES of Biafra is know? |

Can you imagine if it were America or Germany and the Soldiers gunned down unarmed peopl. And when the Soldiers were asked why they did this, they say they were "confronted" or "challenged".
The Soldiers would be in a Military court the next day on murder charges.
This sort of backward Nigeria where life and the rule of law doesnt mean anything isnt what I want my fellow Igbos to belong to. It is a nation of darkness and we should aim higher than this You only quote laws and make reference to other Nations when it is convenient. You support the massacre of your fellow Igbo people by the so-called "Operation Python Dance"? How senseless and insensitive you are! I guess if a relation of yours was among the victims of soldiers' brutality in Umuahia, you won't be making this reckless comment!
I am NOT in support of secession but suppression isn't the solution to the problem either! The federal government dialogued with a globally-recognized terrorist group, Boko Haram, but has refused to dialogue with a nonviolent group. Your so-called Operation Python Dance is a pure genocide against the Igbos. It is a calculated attempt to suppress the Igbos. But one thing is certain, Buhari and APC cannot suppress the Igbos. We are insurmountable and undefeatable!
Buhari's python will not dance but it'll die! "The federal government dialogued with a globally-recognized terrorist group, Boko Haram, but has refused to dialogue with a nonviolent group." Has Kanu either expressly or impliedly shown he cares about dialogue? In case you don't know, "It is Biafra or death" and "Biafra or nothing." Do you remember Kanu saying the FGN offered him a Biafra of the five eastern states, a property abroad and a huge sum of money which he turned down because he needs a Biafra with Benue, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom? His actions has ridiculled Nigeria beyond what Jonathan did.
You send well armed millitary men to unarmed civillians to molest, intimidate and probably kill them.
If he feels Kanu has violated any law why not order his arrest, why the sporadic shooting and killing.
I fully support the disintegration of this country so the common man will get a better deal.
The same set of people involved in different coup and govt since 1960 are still in power. Where is the place of the youth. They will never allow you to ascend but prefer to transfer power and our common wealth to their children.
They have privatised and bought same for themselves leaving crumbs for the common man.

Severally, he threatened to 'burn down the zoo,' inciting his followers to do same. The worst being commissioning a paramilitary outfit on uniform in a sovereign state, yet not even the Governor of his state condemned it.
