Lagos was a farm and commercial point of the Oyo Empire and was occupied by Yoruba warriors and it extended into benin republic and Togo.

Yorubaland and Yoruba people does not end in Nigeria or Lagos, it ends in Togo and some parts of Ghana.

When the Portuguese came they traded with Yorubas in the places now called Lagos, Cotonou and Porto Novo.

Lagos, cotonou and Porto Novo used to be one whole Yoruba farm and commercial point.

Lagos was called Oko.

What did they trade in? You seem t be the one trying to redefine history here.

Does the fact that English-speakers use the word "Germany" to refer to Deutschland now mean that Germany belongs to the British? A place having different names in different languages says absolutely nothing about who its indigenous inhabitants are or how it was founded.

Even if he mistranslated the word Lagos he is not wrong in reference to what Lagos was. It was actually a slave coast. You can do your research. You will see it. In as much as the present day Lagos is a South western state in Nigeria,it used to be a slave coast. Europeans used to come to buy slaves and other commodities in the slave coasts,one of which was Lagos. Check and see. So Seun Kuti is not ignorant.

It's not completely wrong. He may have mistranslated the word "Lagos" which is a Portuguese word but he is not wrong in referring to lagos as a slave coast. It actually was. The europeans were buying slaves and othet comodities. And who were the Europeans trading with? Other "Nigerians".

I made the clown comment in response to your rehashing of the lack of structure yarns. Nigerian politics is not so well formed. It's not ideologically driven. People just want a govt that will do well and serve Nigerians.So saying LP won't be relevant again is premature. And they won 34 seats in the HOR in this election. If the ruling party believed in their myopic "no structure" talk,why did they send thugs to disrupt voting in the polling units? And you say "this is not how to play politics". Is thuggery and vote disruption the way to play politics? I remember how 2015 was when the APC was campaigning. They went as far as making people who opposed them lose their jobs.

Same Lagos where people erect canopies on streets for parties? No state govt really has the moral high ground to beat their chest and say they are champions of upholding the law. The govt reacts to noise pollution complaints but watch as danfo drivers park anyhow on the road to pick passengers. It's almost as if they are invisible to LASTMA. To call out another region is ridiculous and daft when you've not finished dealing with your own flaws.

Mbappe had more successful dribbles. So it's not a matter of favouritism. FIFA even has more impetus to favour Europe because it's the centre of football in a way. The last two FIFA presidents have been European,they have the highest slots. Ronaldo won the ballon dor in 2013,was that favouritism? Or the term should be used when we want to project something? It's okay to love who you prefer as your goat but stop crying foul just because Messi won something that Ronaldo has not won.
