ifyalways: The late mrs Babangida touched a lot of lives with her SAP. Stole a lot too obviously.

What's Abdusalam's wife's name?she was the least heard of, least ceremonial and least drama.
If she wanted to touch alot of lives, she would not steal.

Entrenched corruption brings down lives way faster than SAP can attempt to touch it.

Stealing from people and giving back peanuts in extravagant public shows is not touching lives.

That last statement also applies to TB Joshua:

You forgot the 8th reason.

8. Just being a plain Naija girl.

For some reason, being a naija girl means most have some agbero personality and think any man that woos them (trying to be with them) needs to confirm he is serious and worthy by accepting 2 foul behaviours. Her rudeness and exploitation.

They think approaching them justifies being nasty or askng for top-up credit or to be fed. To them that is just normal and acceptable. To them, the former is a way of showing the solid proof of their chastity and the latter is justified to give any sex up.

But the problem there is that he is claiming glory. I think this is just a marketing ploy so he can milk more from his moronic flock of followers.

atbu1983: PHD takes three years/session. Each session/year in oxford is about 22,150pounds. (66,450pounds for d 3years) yearly living expenses is about 13,000 pounds (39,000pounds for the three years) Altogether 66,450 plus 39,000 equal to 107,450pounds aproximately 100,000pounds.
See below.
The issue is that typically if you are accepted into a PhD program, you'll be working as a research assistant or teaching assistant. As a result, you don't have to spend any money out of pocket on tuition. And you are even paid a small salary.

That is why this story is strange to me.
No mind them.

Not to talk of if it is Oxford.

Oxford is looking for the best minds to come and do research, not who can afford it. So they will provide immense financial support especially for someone from a third world country who's father is not a special civil servant. They just want your brain to add to their world class research. The funding comes from companies and philantropists, not tuition fees.

Shollypopz: For all those saying he is broadcasting his works, Trust me when I say the only thing you get to hear is 1/100 of what he gives to the poor, crippled, widows/widowers, orphans.

But I know it's either the requirement for his powers was to give cos that guy gives. Gosh, y'all don't understand when I say that guy gives!! No pastor, no church in Nigeria can come out and say they give quater as much as the Synagogue church. I don't mind u saying shit about the man of God, but before u talk trash, do ur research!

Do you think he knows a thread was created on NL about this?? The guy is too busy serving the poor, all u supposed Christians should start doing what the bible asks of u. Nowadays we are settling for a Christianity that revolves around catering to ourselves when the central message of Christianity is actually abandoning ourselves.
You are a person!

This is as moronic as saying "Gosh, y'all don't understand when I say that guy gives!! No banker, no bank in Nigeria can come out and say they give quater as much as the Union Bank. I don't mind u saying shit about the investment banker, but before u talk trash, do ur research!"

So a banker giving out other people's money arbitrarily, without transparency and living a luxurious life off it is some form of achievement?

You are advocating christianity of caring for others while the person you are praising is using church money to live like a King.

The definition of democracy is "every foool has a vote", so saying something is democratic is not evidence it is good.

When it comes to judging quality by comparison, it is best to let a group of experts do the judging based on a set of reasonable and professional standard.

Not a group of moorons voting based on "this is our own" and then call it democratic.

I agree with your second point but without the insults.
The last time I checked, the average tuition fees for Oxford was £16,500. In 3 years, that is less than £51K.

Monthly expense of 1K for 3 years is £36K. that is £87K in total.

Not to state that I don't see why someone that is being sponsored should stay for for 12 months in a year in a more expensive country, instead of 9 months.

Not to talk of the fact that PhD students get paid for teaching and research assistant work, so sponsors don't have to give them all their money requirement in full in the first place.

Talk Hoha: Thank you, Beta Things. No, we shouldn't do everything that animals do! It's just that from Mugabe and so many others, there was the argument that it wasn't in nature because even animals didn't do it. It pervades the animal world, including the primates most like man. I'm sure you'd at least watch videos posted. I wonder if this hate is caused by the feeling that gays stop population growth, or just something instinctive, hating the unusual, the unknown. The second reason is behind much of racism - refusing to see a human being in all his complexity and just hating based on skin colour. So, rightly we say 'homophobia.' I mentioned all those names in history to show the ordinariness, and that it's existed throughout human history, and that only a selective application of Hebraic doctrine caused this present prejudice. Of the first reason, population growth, the world's challenge now is population explosion. In any case, many straight relationships are not aimed at reproduction, but braced by contraception and abortion. So, we should hate and jail anyone who has ever been involved in contraception or abortion. There wouldn't be many adults out of jail, from Mushin to Lekki. If we thought of the greatest happiness of the greatest number, gays might be nature's way of dealing with population problems. The irony is, quite often lesbians and gays play special roles in families. They nurture and unify. They make great aunts and uncles, providing insight and guidance. On the practical side, if we have a world where lesbians and gays can't live in peace, and are forced into straight marriages... If straight people who truly love each other find it hard to make marriages work, how would people who get into it by force fare? They'd become drunks and drug addicts in frustration, there would be domestice violence and children of doubtful paternity. All these would swell our country's social problems. Please look at all the videos posted. Forgive me laughing at an image from your post, but I'm sure no grirl would reach for your whatever 'after a round,' as the widow spider might do. No, the girl would want it preserved for her future bliss! Thank you. Bless.
This dumb person produces another rubbish video by a gay so-called academic with self-interest.

Talk Hoha, just use the right grammar:

"The irony is, quite often lesbians and gays play special roles in families. We nurture and unify. We make great aunts and uncles, providing insight and guidance. On the practical side, if you have a world where we (lesbians and gays) can't live in peace, and are forced into straight marriages... If straight people who truly love each other find it hard to make marriages work, how would us who get into it by force fare? We'd become drunks and drug addicts in frustration, there would be domestice violence and children of doubtful paternity."

PoliticsRe: Shouldn't Every Nigerian Be Entitled To A Monthly Allowance? by Sagamite(m):
Ilekokonit: Before you castigate the poster, ask yourself the reason unemployment, homelessness, hunger and general hopelessness does not push any legal resident of the UK into Armed Robbery like it does in Nigeria ?

If a legal resident of the UK chooses to commit Armed Robbery then it is not because of hunger and it's most likely to fund a drug habit or because of sheer greed.

The UK Govt looks after its citizens from cradle to grave and has a safety net called "social security" that is designed to catch you if you fall on hard times through no fault of your own.

Your housing and feeding (for all legal citizens) becomes the responsibility of the government until you get a job at which time you have no choice but to pay back into the social security pot by way of PAYE Tax and National Insurance Contributions that is then used to fund social security payments to the currently unemployed, child benefits and pension payments to the elderly.

And both able bodied people and the disabled are entitled to this safety net as long as for the able bodied he or she can show regular verifiable evidence of their job search activity.

And the UK does not have the oil that Nigeria has !!! BUT what they have is a system that will continue to work into perpetuity because it was designed with fairness and an even distribution of wealth in mind

Tell me how the violent crime as a result of hunger will not be low in such climes ?

WHY CAN'T THE UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE AND PENSIONERS IN NIGERIA HAVE SUCH A LIFE SAVING SYSTEM huhhuh

The UK system is not perfect and you have the odd greedy person who cons the system out of money they were not entitled to but if caught, they pay the penalty which could be a prison sentence of 6 months or in one severe case a prison term of about 2 years for a con carried out on the system 25 years earlier.

Also, you do get some people who become lazy and make a life out of living on benefits but a) the system eventually catches up with them and b) the amount given to them is just enough to keep body and soul together and is not enough to tempt someone with dreams to want to depend on for life.

Just because some people might abuse a noble system is no reason not to introduce such a life saving system in Nigeria. The benefits of such a system far outweigh the disadvantages.

Compare this with Nigeria where even disabled people with no family to support them have to fend for themselves. I continue to say it that a lot of the violent crime in Nigeria will stop if such a safety net such as outlined above is introduced in Nigeria.

Funding such a system in Nigeria

If the so called overdraft and/or lootocratic billionaires like Otedola, Dangote, Adenuga, IBB, OBJ, Danjuma, Atiku, Abdusalami Abubakar paid their fair share of taxes to the Government coffers then it is possible in Nigeria. Remember that Danjuma stated in 2009 that he made 2 Billion dollars from an oil well given to him by Abacha and he does not know what to do with the money. Yet millions of Nigerian adults, children, the sick and the disabled are going to bed hungry or half full every night !!!!!

If only 20% of all the money stolen by Nigerian politicians at all levels is collated and used to fund such a scheme as described above, I am 110% sure that crime will be drastically reduced in Nigeria AS NO ONE WILL GO TO BED HUNGRY AND DESPERATE.

We need a safety net in Nigeria to catch and cater for the feeding and housing of the desperate poor in Nigeria. A hungry man is an angry man.

And because no condition is permanent (as the Global recession has shown and continues to show us), we should not pour scorn on any effort to at least feed and house the poor in our midst as the events of the past 4 years have shown us that, let him that stand take heed lest he falls since NO ONE IS IMMUNE TO THE EFFECTS OF THE GLOBAL RECESSION THAT HAS TURNED ERSTWHILE MIDDLE CLASS FAMILIES TO NOW DEPEND ON FOOD HANDOUTS.

But the sad aspect in Nigeria is that our leaders know perfectly well that the idea is a noble one but they will not do it because a) it reduces the amount they can steal and b) such regular life saving payments to the poor will mean that there is no longer a large pool of desperate Nigerians for the politicians to abuse and exploit for the menial jobs which their own children will not do.

There is no country in the world with 100% employment which is why Governments who see it as their duty NOT to look after their own pockets and those of their cronies BUT to look after the unemployed and less priviledged in their societies introduced such a safety net as described above.

Where there is a will there is a way. But only a God sent leader can implement this in Nigeria not the current devils ruling us.

Need I say more to our wicked and deaf leaders whose conscience has been seared with hot iron and they are now irredeemably wicked and hostile to the well being of the long suffering Nigerian masseshuh
Part of the reason the UK does not have armed robbery is because they have a good police force and a culture of hard work.

Also learn that the UK has more oil than Nigeria if you take into consideration oil production per capita. Some of you have been fooled by this rubbish about Nigerian oil. The UK has a lot of oil, they just consume it all. Nigeria is only famous for oil because we export it, we do not have the economy to consume it. We export it and do not consume it like the UK because we are backwards and under-developed. Being an oil exporter is nothing to be proud of. It is a shame!

Don't compare a welfare system to what this person is advocating: National sharing of cake.

Moreover, how do you expect a country without records or data to set up a welfare system?

A country that does not even have a reliable census?

A country that has porous borders?

A country full of morally bankrupt and dubious minded people?

A country that can't pay pensions old people worked for is the one you think the corrupt officials will pay benefits to young, able people that did not work for it?

Stop dreaming!

Never compare what is being done in the UK to Nigeria.

odumchi: What you're talking about and what I'm talking about are different. The UK's social welfare plan is designed to accommodate those of low income who are unable to take care of their families because of one financial issue or another. When someone gives birth, they receive a check which is meant to take care of the expenses of the new baby (diapers, formula, etc). The US's social welfare plan is also similar to the of the UK, but instead of giving away checks, it gives food stamps which can only be used to redeem food items (this is to make sure that the money is used for what it was intended for).

In the case of Nigeria (or in any country, for that matter), handing out Naira notes just for breathing is unacceptable because it breeds the "why should I work when the government is paying me for being alive" mentality. Instead of wasting money this way, the government should subsidize things like education and healthcare so that things would be cheaper and more accessible.
Don't mind the fucktards!
