if truly covid 19 is in Nigeria, the easiest place to contract this virus are schools. Is it University students that walks around the country anyhow just to achieve their passion? Or is it primary school students that plays with no precautions? So is better that all schools still stay on shutdown
Your comment shows how dumb nairalanders can be.

If you think Schools are the hot spot of coronavirus then i don't know which planet you are from, have you been to any major markets before? Onitsha main market, Alaba international market, Trade fair. For Godsake these markets are fully open without any social distancing measures...

How many students are in a university compared to markets, a university can be controlled, wearing of face mask, social distancing and all that can be achieved there than markeks, churches and majid... Other countries we copy and starting from somewhere which is phase reopening of their schools...

Do not get this wrong, no kobo enters Nigeria govt purse from education and they do not want Nigeria youths educated, so Schools will be the last thing they will open for their selfish reasons....

In England, Pakistan, Finland, Universitity students and lecturers are busy in school searching for vaccine here in Nigeria university students are running home together with primary school students, say it to anyone, this country is gone and gone forever.

You are just spewing trash, and it's just sadden coming from someone who acclaimed himself has a bookworm, did you even read what you wrote.

So let me follow your logic, if FG is gaining something by inflating the number don't you think kogi will want to inflate his own numbers to gain this something too. Or you are saying govt gain something whenever they are dishonest irregardless of the lies.

And back to Kano not number not going up, test in Nigeria is not done for everyone but for people with symptoms, so population does not matter, china has over a billion people and had only about 80k case, us has 300mill and has almost 2mil cases, so what does that tells you.

Now let's go to what govt is gaining from covid cases inflation..the economy is in disarray, these so called politician that you think love incrementing the number can't get out of the country to go and enjoy their money, their local business are hurting cause or the economy downturn.... everyone is losing in this way against corona.
Some more than others though.

Next time just make your point without looking down on people or there opinion....

You believe government officials do not benefit from coronavirus means you new to Nigeria.

We all saw what happened in North eastern Nigeria, atleast it should give you a clue about coronavirus... Do yoi know how much have been donated both locally and internationally to this government?

EU, Germany govt donated twice, USA, Worldbank loan, IMF loan etc, do not defend the government if you don 't have evidence please.

You need to understand how things work. Those patients DO NOT want to be shown on TV.. Would you announce your positive status if it were you? They know how ignorant the society is and the stigmatisation that may follow.. The tests cannot be manipulated by anyone. I've former colleagues at both NIMR and 54gene and I'm a microbiologist. These analysts overwork themselves and report what they see. Let's stop all these please..Imagine sacrificing your rest period for overtime in the Laboratory and you hear people calling the figures a scam.
We are killing the spirit of the frontline workers. The government partnered with 54gene and Lifebank to conduct these tests and these are reputable organisations who will not alter results. Why will any government play politics with a disease that killed the COS to the president? Why are Nigerians like this?
It is either you are an agent of NCDC or you are not a Nigerian for asking why would any government want to play with coronavirus.... What have they (Nigeria government) not played with... Bokoharam? Ecological funds? Health budget, just name them.

Bro wake up, you need to think smart, coronavirus is very actice in Nigeria but there is something the government are not telling us.

I also have my doubts about these fiqures because NCDC are not telling us the truth.

Hogwash. What is with u people and increasing testing capacity so that the figures can increase, don't be such a dummy. It's only in Nigeria that Covid patient are asking what the difference between Covid and malaria, it's only in Nigeria that Covid patient are protesting, it's only in Nigeria that Covid is being forced on a state, it's only in Nigeria that an isolation center that is supposed to be containing 800 patient was empty.

Open your eyes bro. You're the Covidiot here. The government have you fooled. This government has done nothing but lie to you since its inception and it's now that they won't lie to you? If you are so desperate to see the figures skyrocket then give yourself and your families up for testing and stop disturbing us with useless statistics on Nairaland.

NCDC are recording just 105 discharged patients meanwhile borno state alone discharged 135 yesterday. Use your brain. Something isn't adding up and NCDC keeps losing credibility each day and questions are being raised each day. this is why they are lots of doubters

Covidiot are the ones that government have fooled

Either you're a paid NCDC supporter or you're just plain gullible, either way you're not to be taken serious or even heard for that matter
If you add the number os 135(Borno), 29(Lagos) 5(Enugu) 11(Edo) and other states like Oyo etc that didn't mind to announce their own.. We should be getting around 250 discharge.

Also, check the number of sample tested, NCDC claimed it ommited out 7222 samples from the chart, everything does not add up.

How comes Kano, Bauchi, Gombe and Borno all of a sudden start having 2,3,5 cases per day...

How comes Edo start having 25+ cases after APC announced direct primaries for the state. Time shall tell, but in the main timme, they should please open up the economy.

This is so confusing. Early report from Nairaland shows that Borno discharged 135 covid 19 patients today. This is different from Lagos and other states discharge.
Yet NCDC is telling us that it's 109 patients that were discharged.
Can som1 please explain this?
If we should go by that then the number of discharge for 29th of May will be close to 300, so experts will assume we are making success, NCDC and PTF don't want that, they don't want to stop cashing out yet.

Coro numbers in Nigeria na scam.

See how they refused to record the 135 patients discharged by Borno state, and how they added around 7222 more tests to the records.

Who is decieving who, NCDC better stop this scam of overreporting cases and underreporting number of discharges.

Borno State Government has discharged 135 COVID-19 patients.
The patients, who initially tested positive for the virus, later tested negative twice upon treatment.
Speaking on Friday at the Abba Kyari COVID-19 Isolation Centre in Maiduguri, Deputy Governor, Usman Kadafur, said the state has recorded successes in recent time while commending the efforts of the World Health Organisation and other developmental partners.
The deputy governor, who is also the Chairman, Committee on Response and Prevention of COVID-19, described the collaboration as a huge success in the fight against COVID-19 in the state.
Kadafur advised the public to adhere strictly to COVID-19 preventive protocols to mitigate and completely eradicate the virus.

When they test around 1800+ we will have high case, we have lower cases when the number of test reduce to 1000 to 1200.

They want to make it look like with more test more cases, so the comfirmed cases will continue for a long time, no end in sight.

AlexReports:
The 15-man medical team from China who arrived Nigeria on April 9 to help contain the Coronavirus pandemic flown out of the country.

This was disclosed by Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, whose husband, Matthew Ekeinde is a pilot.

She took to her Instagram page to announce that her husband was embarking on his first flight in two months due to the shut down of the nation’s airspace.

Sharing a picture of her husband and his co-pilot fulled kitted in a face shield and a mask, she wondered if it was the new normal.

The Nollywood diva eventually added that he was flying the Chinese doctors who arrived Nigeria in April back to their base.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CAvWHpIgmga/?igshid=18412zqwc9bmt

She wrote, “Is this the new normal? #TheCaptain went on his first flight today in two months! Those are the Chinese pple that flew in some time ago! Not sure how to feel”.

Recall that Nigerians opposed their coming to the country, while the Federal Government assured that they will be quarantined for 14 days on arrived.

The Nigeria Medical Association also kicked against the decision of the FG to invite the Chinese doctors to help the country curtail and contain the spread of the deadly virus.

But the Federal Government last two weeks denied knowing the whereabouts of the team, claiming that they were guests of the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
