Unfortunately, you cannot compare offices or banks to schools, because adults can comply with physical distancing rules. It is only the people that do not value their lives or know the implications that mingle in crowded markets or public places. That is why online sales of of everything including foodstuff is booming now.

How can you prevent children-to-children or children-to-teachers contact in a nursery/primary school? How will you take care of an infected child in an isolation ward without parents?

I do not think the argument of teachers being affected most is right because entertainment industry is worse off. Most private schools are organisizing online classes , and parents are paying for it. So how are parents selfish? I think that is what you should advise your school owner to do, if they are not doing so already. Also, how many companies can operate at even half capacity with the current curfews and economic condition? Hence whether we like it or not, there is going to be reduced income and economic hardship for most people - parents and teachers alike.

Even if you open schools today, attendance will be very low, and teachers will still be laid off. It is only schools for children who are old enough to fully observe social distancing rules that can be opened, but it is not safe for nursery/primary schools for now.

Moreover, nobody has a right to criticize parents for protecting their children as it is their duty to do so. Government can go ahead and open the schools, but teachers will still not earn any income if students don't turn up.

The point is this, after the day's work, you go back home and meet your kids.
What if you are infected, are they not at risk also?

The teachers are the worst hit of this lockdown with no form of support or relief from the govt. If we all decide tomorrow to change career and quit teaching for good, then will people understand our importance and the need to always put us into consideration first before any other profession/als. Because we have been relegated to the shadows so much that some can no longer hold their heads high and proudly say they "i am a Teacher". I am a teacher and a proud one at that.

Without " Us" many of our parents won't attain the level of education they did today.
Without "Us" the parents and society at large will not be able to travel to the abroad independently and be able to get good jobs or even put in for further studies abroad.
They won't be here expressing their thoughts and feelings in black and white.

Schools, especially pricate schools only want the extortion to continue in the name of school fees. No logical government will ask schools to resume at this time. Who will coordinate young children who cant stay safe independently? Many of the tertiary and secondary students will have to travel to various states for school. Does that mean the interstate travel ban will be lifted too. The teaching sector needs to know they are as affected as other sectors too. Ask entertainment and events? Nobody is screaming parties and shows should commence. Open schools and get ready to start reading 5000 daily new cases.

FG is planning on reopening the economy fully from next week, that means every sector would be opening, now if FG will reopen the economy, it means interstate travel will resume, you hear about plans to reopen airports.

France, China, South Korea, Israel, Germany and a host of other countries have already opened schools, even Zimbabwa, Cameroon and Ghana are opening school.

OP we have 1442 tests, how many did Lagos test to arrive at 256 cases, now dose it mean that 50% of the total test per day in Lagos comes out positive every day?

Lets say Lagos tests 500 people per day and gets 250, 200 cases per day... How possible is that, it means everybody is positive or should be positive in Lagos.

Nigerian coronavirus patients on admission at the various isolation centres across the country may now go home even before they tested negative to the virus.

This is because a new study by researchers from Singapore have found that coronavirus patients cannot infect others after 11 days of being ill, even if their test still comes back positive.

The scientists also found that an infected person becomes contagious around two days before symptoms show.

They said the patients then remain contagious for between seven and 10 days after they start showing signs of the disease— which include having a high temperature and a new and continuous cough.
The scientists further noted that COVID-19 ‘could not be isolated or cultured after day 11 of the illness.

The scientists from Singapore’s National Centre for Infectious Diseases and the Academy of Medicine examined 73 patients with coronavirus.

They looked at whether the bug could be passed from them to someone else, the New York Post reported.

Positive tests in patients that still had symptoms after two weeks could be picking up sections of the bug that cannot pass the virus on to someone else.

The authors of the study said: “Based on the accumulated data since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the infectious period of coronavirus in symptomatic individuals may begin around two days before the onset of symptoms, and persists for about seven to 10 days after the onset of symptoms.”

They added that active viral replication drops quickly after the first week, and the viable virus was not found after the second week of illness.

It comes as the UK reported a further 118 coronavirus deaths, a 30 percent drop since last Sunday’s 170, taking the total to 36,793.

The daily death figure, revealed by Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the daily press briefing on Monday, is the lowest since the lockdown was put into force on March 23.

Scientists hope that their research on the disease’s ability to spread could help hospitals figure out when to send admitted patients home.

I could be happy now but the next minute, she changes mood all of a sudden. We dated for over year after someone match make us but this mood swing things continued overtime so sometimes I get confused even as i really tried managing the pressure. That doesn't render the reported cases a scam, there are other isolation centres in Kano. More so, this could have been made up. Kano opened 5 new isolation centres for Covid-19 as at MAY 1st. Ask him to show us the rest:

The five facilities: the Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, Murtala Muhammed Library Complex, Hospitality and Tourism Institute, Kano State Sports Institute at Karfi village, & the Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Kano.

These, supports the 3 existing ones, at the Muhammadu Buhari Specialist Hospital, Kwanar Dawaki Hospital, and Sani Abacha Stadium.

So, since Sani Abacha Stadium is empty, show us others.

Whoever thinks Covid19 is a scam should take for granted the precautions, and get infected to confirm for us.
