I had some terrible neighbours at my residence then I needed to move to another rented apartment and I was short of money. She loaned me 50K, less than six months later she joined me in the house as my better half.
I must say she sowed her seed properly, because she is having a great harvest. |

AmIaYahooGirl: Hello Nls, I'm not really someone who listens to what people say but I just want to share this so that y'all can air your views.
I'm a young girl, 23 and an orphan, dropped out of school and came to Lagos to make ends meet. When I first came to Lagos, I stayed with a married female cousin of mine, along the line, the husband started making advances to me which I politely declined. He got angry and told his wife to throw me out of the house, and yes she did.
I was thrown out of the house without anywhere to go and as someone who has survived losing both parents at such a young age, I literally lived and survived in the streets. Did all sorts of menial jobs, hawked purewater, soft drinks, worked in a bar and all that before I finally got an apartment.
The story isn't quite necessary but when I get talking with people and I tell them that I stay alone, next thing I'll hear is "you're too young to stay alone... it's not a good idea...blah blah blah. Some older woman even told me to go back to my cousin's house and beg them so I can continue staying with them, another told me that it's better I stay with my boyfriend than staying alone.
I really don't understand all these talks, like despite all I've been through, isn't staying alone the best option? Or is there something wrong with staying alone as a single young lady?
Your humble opinion is needed, thanks Life has made you grow up, life has made you independent. Unless for security sake please enjoy your accomodations. |
Family › Re: My Uncles Fixed My Late Father's Burial Without Informing Me, His First Son by saintneo(m): 9:49am On Jun 09, 2020 |
Aizen123: Please I need advice. I lost my Dad over 2 months now and he hasn't been buried due to the pandemic. My Uncle's are all in Lagos and can't come back.
So after the lockdown was over we decided to go to the village.. On getting I discovered that his shop was open and all the money going into the first Uncle (first son) account.. So I called my uncle because he told me it was locked and he was saying did he need my permission before to open the shop and i decided to just control myself because i like peace and i decided to go to the house in the village...
On getting there I called my uncle and he told me the keys are with them in Lagos ... That it was waybilled and i said ok and went back with my brother and sister.
Fast forward today... I got a call from someone in the village that my Dad's burial death has been fixed and i was wowed because as the first son i haven't been told yet by my uncle's. So right now i am about acting but i need advice. How old are you? Do you have other relations apart from these uncle's? Are you ready to fight? |
Family › Re: My Husband Wants To Know Everything About My Finances. by saintneo(m): 3:31pm On Jun 06, 2020 |
UzorChinonso: Good day Nairalanders, I have been married for just a year now and it has not been easy here! My Husband wants to know every thing about my finance. He has disturbed me to know how much is my salary worth of.
I have always denied him of the fact, what I know is that I used my money to refurbish our flat, got some new things to change the outlook of the place....
But I am not really finding it funny any longer. As we speak, he collected my ATM card since last two weeks, said I must tell him the pin or I should forget having it back. I went to my bank, told them that I lost the card and they changed it for me last Friday and he collected it again said it's either I tell him the pin or he will do something funny ...
I don't know what funny thing he's gonna do but I am worried! Pls is this how marriage is? He claims to own me and own my salary! Is it fair? This marriage is too early instead I would have quit and I am pregnant at the moment! What do I do? I don't want anybody to know anything about my finances including him till I have my baby whom my spirit accepted that I should make my next of kin.
What do I do ? Humans are naturally selfish, if you can't trust your husband even in this early time of your marriage, then why did you marry? |

Modesthy: I had a good uncle who passed away three years ago. His wife morned him for one year. I lived with that my uncle until I got married and parked to my own house.
I use to visit the house sometimes. After the mourning, his wife called me and told me that I should give her more children. She has only one male child. I refused. But She said I should do it for her because she doesn't want children outside the family because she loved my uncle and our family and that she can't continue to stay with only one child.
I'm completely confused. First I'm married doing that is infidelity, sencondly, the uncle was like a father to me before his death. And I see it as a big sin.
Please somebody should help me, what do I do here? How do I handle this issue? Thanks for your candid advice. IVF option. Donate sperm via fertility clinic with your wife's consent. |

samicine: Greetings one and all. I'll try to make my lamentation as short as possible.
My mother accused me of stealing her 2k, but I assure you, I didn't. The money got missing on Thursday night according to her and my 13 year old brother. I won't do such a thing, because the times are hard and the pandemic is fueling this hard times. I'm not lazy, I kind of work from home, I write for opera news hub and to some extent I get money from there, currently I have 19k in my account. I have no motive of taking her money, but she insists I took it, and is currently threatening to throw me out of the house.
This is not the first time such thing has happened. When I was still in secondary school, money got missing often and she'll blame me, beat me and starve me for stealing her money, but God helped me and the culprit was found, my other brother was caught, he is 18 now and doesn't stay with us anymore. He stays with my dad. She never apologized for what she did and the scars of that emotional and physical abuse still ripples across my body. But this time I'm not sure I will forgive her if the money is found. I'm planning on leaving home and starting my life somewhere, it's hard, it might just be my naivety speaking, but I need your advice.
The only skill I have is writing and web designing, which I'm almost getting good at. I just need help and guidance. I'm a 200level student and I major in psychology. I'll be 21 by November. Tough one mate. Isn't there a way to talk to her about this? She is your mum, isn't she? I will say you inform her that you didn't take her money, but you are willing to give 2k for peace to reign. Going to join friends might end up well or ill. Given that most reponsible people of your age stay with their guardians, I'd suggest you stay with a friend still residing with their guardians. |

Localemperor: Its is no longer news that I have been declared insolvent. After all effort to maintain my liquidity level to no avail I decide to let her go.
Just as organization retrenched worker during periods of economic downturn in order to cut cost of operations, I sent her a massage expressing my regret and reasons.
I feed her I pay money for hair dressing I buy clothes I take her out every weekend I buy shoes I do everything thinkable
She works and earns but I still wonder why she would want me to do everything for her. I compiled my income statement and statement of financial position for the first quarter and found out that expenditures have exceeded income and debt is on the rise.
So I wholeheartedly declared my self insolvent yesterday and decided to cut cost in order to protect my goodwill. So what's your plan? I hope you are not turning to Vaseline. |
