That was then. Things are different now

There is a rule in the jungle, " Lions don't eat each other" but with humans, the narratives changes.

I pray Nigeria never witness war again.
I don't think that type of genocide can happen in Nigeria because the 3 biggest tribes are roughly balanced. The type of genocide that can happen in Nigeria is systemic genocide like it is happening in the middle belt with fulani herdsman. The dangers of middle belt style is that on the surface, you think it is a minor issue but over a decade you could find out that some people and their ancestral lands are nowhere to be found.

Wao. That means he survived the genocide to later become president. Does it mean Hutus voted for him?

Nigerian army has killed more Nigerian civilians than they have killed foreign soldiers they are meant to fight. Which kind of country is this?
I have not heard of any other army killing their own civilians in their own country, why must Nigeria's own be different?
Foreign AffairsRe: Donald Trump To Terminate Birthright Citizenship by Saintp(m): 2:26pm On Oct 30, 2018
If I read well, his aim is to stop visitors and illegal immigrants from giving birth to citizens. Legal immigrants will still give birth to US citizens .

I think this is good move for Nigeria. It is because of this cheap access to the US citizenship that our healthcare is in a mess. If the likes of Buhari and other politicians including celebs and rich Nigerians do not have access to developed countries to take advantage of, by now they would have fixed Nigeria healthcare and other sectors

An enlightened population is a politicians worst nightmare. Uninformed people vote against their self interest because they don't know what, why, and how the policies espoused by politicians will or will not benefit them. They are easily swayed by bumper sticker politics, religious and tribal affiliations devoid of substance and a few pieces of silver. On the contrary, I believe the people hold all the power, they are just not aware of how to wield it and in Nigerias case, are unwilling to do what it takes to wrestle back power from the greedy politicians.
I think you are right

Really?...noooo!...the number of executions of Blacks has been reduced due to protests.....especially when our celebrities are adding their voices and getting involved....as well as the few retaliation shootings and killing of police...that really put a check on the rampage. But no doubt...we need economic power....but unity comes first...in unity there is influence..and in influence there is power. E.g....why do politicians bend backwards to the Jews?...is it because of their wealth?...noooo!...the Jews vote in blocks!...2 million Jews...2 million votes all going one place...2 M votes guarantee. ..politicians will lick their feet to get those votes...that be a stairway to power. Should Nigerian youths unite... lay out what they want ...promise any candidate who can meet the demands their votes...politicians will do the same...become stooges. In this game..unity is the gateway to power.
At the end of the day, it is the presence of a working democracy that makes the difference. Here, leaders know that their fate rest in the hands of their people through the ballot box so the must work for the people.

In naija, leaders know the people hold no power to do anything. After all, they can always manipulate the process for their own gain. The likes of INEC,police,DSS etc will always be an extension of the ruling party so why would they have to work for the people when they can stay in power without them.

Lol...so you people have finally admitted pmb do have some policies in place but because they are impacting positively on the economy going forward and impacting negatively on like mind pockets hence the whining.
Your party pdp and your heroes ran the country aground for 16years despite the enormous Goodwill from Nigerians, deep financial resources and "made in heaven" policies all failed to put Nigeria in the path of greatness but you now expect pmb,the miracle worker to turn it around in 3years still beat my imagination.
It's even ironic that same set of people that call the country all sort of names, same people that want secession with the threat of boycotting elections before now are the ones claiming to love and more patriotic than the real Nigerians.
Hmmmm...set of confused people.
Guy, don't spoil this thread with your tribalism. I know it is difficult for some of you to avoid going tribal on any discussion but I take God beg you don't do it here.Your last paragraph was unnecessary.

Goodness, all one has to do is google these easily accessible answers to these questions. Childcare subsidy ( I think you mean daycare ?) is different and goes by your income. Most, if not all benefits in Canada is usually determined by your income. Except for things like education or healthcare.

Sorry,no vex. Actually I got confused along the line as one of the forms mentioned previous year tax and that is why I asked the question.

PoliticsRe: Why Lagosians Switched Loyalty From Ambode To Sanwoolu. by Saintp(m): 12:51pm On Oct 03, 2018
One of the greatest problems of an average Nigerian is not having an independent mindset. I think the type of education administered in Nigeria is responsible for this.
I remember months ago when people who said Ambode was not performing were insulted messlessly and their entire tribe was not spared by the people who are now anti Ambode now. To them Ambode was the best governor in Nigeria other governors should emulate and they were backing him to continue until all of a sudden he now became the devil. So this means critics of Ambode were right all this while.

In the next 4 years, this new guy will face the same problem for sure and the cycle continues cos all you guys do is to fight another man's fight.

The juju that this politicians use that is so powerful that makes them manipulate adults mindset to fight their fights is indeed powerful and I think I will like to meet the babalawo

To get something out of naija politics, citizens need to have an independent mindset and consistently fight for what they want and not what the political class want. If someone is not good, then he is not good based on your own analysis not because the political class says so else you end up fighting for the political class who puts their interest first before the people.

Lastly, with the situation playing now,it means whether it is Ambode or the other guy ,the people have lost already as whoever governs will put the interest of some group of people first before the citizens

Hi, you can go to any Service Ontario centre after landing and you have all the required documents to register. As you rightly stated, you get access to public healthcare 3 months after landing and living in the province. The requirements and other relevant info are listed here, https://www.ontario.ca/page/documents-needed-get-health-card
It's not something to be unusually worried about as if you enjoy relatively good health then you'll be fine. I and my crew came with just a pack of Paracetamol and a dose of anti malarial drugs in case we break down from the stress of relocating as well as worm expeller. I ended up throwing most of them away as we didnt need them and everyone was fine. If you need to cover yourself though, you can get medical insurance from IGI, AIICO and AXA Mansard to name a few. They are a cheaper alternative than going with Canadian insurance companies and paying from your precious POF.
Thank you

Lol.The writer is exaggerating Nigeria. Nigeria has nothing to offer for world powers to be scared or contain them. Nigeria has not even reached the level of Iran. The writer should be more concerned about Nigeria solving her basic problems like electricity ,water, roads, health care system etc instead of worrying about US bases.

Yes, the certification has a project component. The project has to be work related and deliver hard savings (financial results) to the organization you work for. This means that you have to be employed to be able to meet the project requirement for your certification. The size of the company you work for or the nature of their business do not matter as long as the project provide solution to a problem in the organization. In fact, it could be a one man business type of work. Also, the company does not need to have a Six Sigma program in place as long as they will allow you to apply Six Sigma approach to solving the problem that they have. In my experience, no company will be against that as long as using Six Sigma enables you to solve the problems cheaper, faster and at high quality level than any other approach the would have used otherwise.

If you are in Canada already and not employed yet, my recommendation is that you go ahead to complete the training part for now (if you can afford it) while you continue to look for work. With the training only, you can include in your resume that you are Six Sigma Black Belt trained. If you are invited for an interview, telling your prospective employer that you are Six Sigma Black Belt trained and letting them know that your goal is to use the skills you already acquired help solve their business problems can open the doors for you.
Thank you very much

I must say this is very comprehensive, thank you very much. I see the certification has a project component , where and how will this project be done? Is it for people who are already working in an organization?

With due respect, you are one of the reason why this country remains the way it is. IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE FOR A CRIME. If she can go through a standardized system abroad to obtain her degree, what stops her from doing so in Nigeria. You obey the law in another man's land and disobey your father's law; only a bastard would do that.

It is only a pity that you are giving a lame excuse for her, this simply means you buy into the school of thought of those bypassing a regulated system which has kept the country backward.
Make no mistake, he is giving these excuses because the person involved is his favorite thief. Change the name Kemi Adeosun to another thief like Saraki, FFK, melaye etc, then his position on this same issue will change automatically and he will be the one calling for their prosecution.

See the greatest problem we have in this country is hypocrisy and not corruption because it is hypocrisy that makes anti corruption fight to be useless.

You igbo youths are doing incalculable damage to the image of your tribe and coming generations of igbo in Nigeria.

What will happen if you igbos don’t get Biafra?

This bigotry has really eaten deep into the fabric of igbo society and it’s so sad to see such a big tribe languish in the abyss of hate. Is it the civil war loss that caused this?

Just consider what your children will go through in this same Nigeria where your likes have burnt bridges with other ethnic nationalities.

Time for everybody to defend his own 'thief'. Lmao. Those defending Saraki will still turn around and call other politicians they don't like thieves. Lmao.
Lol. Nigerians will always defend their own thieves. The most stupid thing is that people fight the battle for these thieves while the children of the thieves enjoy themselves. I expect the likes of Yusuf buhari, saraki's children, Tinubu children, all the children of PDP and APC politicians fight themselves since they are the biggest beneficiaries but no, it is the online miscreants who take it upon themselves to fight for these thieves we call politicians.
Make no mistake, the person who called saraki a thief was just fighting for his own adored thief not because he believes saraki is a thief. If saraki changes course and start supporting his own thief, this same person will no longer see him as a thief.
I don't know when average Nigerians will understand that these political fights is not for thier interest rather it is for the selfish interest of the political class.
