The kind of money people make in Nigeria can't be made in Europe or America. I visited Delta state for holiday and I am amazed at the investment made by individuals. Even some petty stores are doing great and people are smiling and enjoying life. The only people not smiling in this country are those who refuse to engage themselves in something meaningful and those who wish to travel abroad. These set of useless people can be found all over nairaland

There are no open gutters like you have in Africa. At least I have not seen any in all the cities, towns and rural areas i have been to. The last gutter I saw with my eyes was in naija. Every drainage here is underground, you can't see it but it exists in all roads. Access to the drainage is mostly through a covered perforated manhole you see on the roads.

In a saner climes where I live, your poo poo, kitchen sink waste water, bathroom waste water etc are channeled underground to only God knows where cos I don't know. My own is to poo, I don't know where my shit goes to. So you don't have incidences of tanker coming to pack shit.
When we criticize naija or Africa, it is out of frustration of seeing things work abroad but can't work in naija, I feel so bad about it. These basic things are some of the things that devalue us as a people. When oyibos come to Africa and see the rot and the environment and see us in their land, they now look at us as people who escaped from a jungle.

Even if we can't build planes, missiles etc what does it cost to do a proper urban planning, design and build a clean environment instead of building roads and littering it with open gutters here and there and expect that no one will throw something into it?

By the way, I wouldn't insult you back, I don pass that level. If I have to insult someone, it has to be on one on one basis not hiding behind a faceless forum to throw insults.

Most times, you don't have to totally blame Buhari. Our problem in Nigeria is that majority of the people don't stand for anything.

If Buhari advisers and aides keep telling him that everything is working perfectly fine and people who say otherwise are his enemies, why will he not believe them?. They tell him what he wants to hear in order to be in his good books.

We know we don't like the way the country is being run, but the thing is the government have actually done their part, Yes I know the federal capital is supposed to have a better drainage system but the one being provided by government is being used as dumping sites by us THE CITIZENS,

When will it ever occur to us that we are part of the government and we have our own roles to play.

The governance of this country doesn't just rest on the shoulders of the leaders alone it is a joint project.

The only thing the government can do now is to clear the blocked drainages but I can confidently tell you that the next heavy rain will see the drainage blocked again because the average Nigerian see drainages during period of rain as dumping sites without taking into consideration that the rain is going to stop thereby stopping the movement of the dirt being thrown into the drainage.

Let us all do our part and help the government make easier decisions
