Luckygurl:im glad you specified your os as windows 8...creating a new user profile is quite different from the one i described earlier(windows 7) but the expert way remains the same on both so i suggest you read carefully.. 1..just type CompMgmtLauncher in your search box and press enter 2.when it finds it...just click on run command or press enter 3..a new page would open "computer management",on the left pane, click on "local users and groups" to dropdown the submenu 4..click on "users" the check on the right pane to list all the available users on your system starting with administrator to your account.. 5..right click 0n any free space on the right pane and select new user 6 type a new user name..(it should be different from the one u presently use) and password(optional) 7..uncheck the box "user must change password at next logon" to unlock the greyed options 8..now check the box "password never expires" 9..click on "create" then close..u would now see the new username name with the previous list. 10. right click on the new user name and click on "properties" we now want to assign administrator rights to the new user created: 11..click on "member of"..u would see a list of the current groups it currently belongs to(homeusers, users) 12.select each one and remove till u have a blank list..then click on "add" and a new window would pop up 13..on the new window, click on "advanced" and a new window(select groups) would popup as well 14..click on "find now" and all the available groups would appear below..look for "administartors" and select and press ok 3times.. now u have created a new profile which u can logon to immediately or on ur next restart i actually made a video tutorial of this but i couldnt attach it(i dont know why)..its just 1.45mb i hope the moderators can look into the problem and allow it for effective training purposes.. u can send me ur email if u still need it |
Gbengem:u need to run all the drivers including that network controller cuz that where the wifi drivers are....thats the main reason it aint working... i just looked it up on hp site,if ur os is WIN 7,here is the link http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Mini-110-3600-PC-series/5046265/model/5059496#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1 u need to download all the drivers(all of it)to know which would work...i think the 1st 2 shd solve your prob(atheros 2011 and brodcom).. i normally use drp 15 to automatically install drivers if u have it... wat do u tink "all4naija" ,could u give us ur "all avenues" or "registry delete and flags-creating method" formular? |
all4naija:is someone intimidated?nawa o...i tink i wld be foolish to stoop low to ur level and be debating wit u....av not been on this forum for a very long time and i tink my image/integrity precedes me..im here to help the people like sly(u just read my posts2days ago and i attended to his prob instantly-let him testify)..ITS NOT BRAGGING CUZ I CAN ALWAYS BACK IT UP.. on a last note,u can decode this statement "the complexity of the problem in view dictates which method to use..alongside ur experience" i dont pretend to be a man of the people but a man for the pple |
Gbengem:oga, state the model of the mini laptop...if ur sure its not a device driver problem...them u havent turned on the wifi hardware using a combination of keys...check on ur laptop keyboard or look for a wifi switch on the body of the laptop....(keystrokes may differ according to different makes and models)
|
adexcoco:im sorry,i tink using a desktop is better wit a cool 19" widescreen led monitor...there is this dell model i now use for my clients for pos softwares.. its a dell optiplex gx620 usff...its cute, effective and portable and u can find it in core duo..its affordable

Luckygurl:pls always make it important to always version of operating system in full like windows 7 ultimate, premium 32bit or 64bit so we can knowhow to assess the problem accurately(different os versions have their limits) its hard to access the problem from here but ur proxy issue may be from multiple connections or from the use of an earlier proxy setting or software(hotspot shield or those software u pple use for free browsing)..in mozilla, goto tools--->options,advanced--->network then settings and choose "no proxy" as for ur multiple tabs opening,i suggest u uninstall and re-install it (if it were mozilla,u can refresh the settings to default) or simply try this just before anything else(in case ur system has been hit by an adware)as a temp measure..create a new profile: 1..goto control panel then users or user account 2..create a new user wit adminstrator rights 3..log off the current account and login to the new one and observe if the problem persists... until then can i make further suggestions |
all4naija:I expected some1 like u to know better wen I say "it's still in testing mode"..just cuz they say final doesn't mean they stopped testing it-it means its stable enough for u consumers..and the compNy now awaits pples observations, complaints and suggestions which wld aid they in preparing updates and in turn a service pack..I suggest u start reading the information contained in the updates u install so u know beta.."on the road of quality, there is no end or final " |
all4naija:Do u wan bet restore mode can be ineffective Atimes?besides i can't recall it being mentioned in the post.its allowed u corrected urself saying using attrib with malware byte.i really don't wan debate this issue longer than necessary but the complexity of the problem in view dictates which method to use..alongside ur experience.the new variant is A stubborn Trojan dropper(fraudrop) and it's more potent than u think.. |
okumbe:windows 10 is still in its testing mode...so expect errors... i would always advise a clean install in most cases..obviously,your system make is currently experiencing difficulties from any: 1..certain updates not compactible with ur driver and components, applications 2...ur hard drive may have errors ie bad sectors thereby making it difficult to boot for now, assessing "only" your present complaint and observation,i would leave the rest because any other cause wld appear after booting and give an error.. solution.. bakup your files first...(im sorry i cant type how to again..im tired) 2...specify the previous os before the upgrade(ie win 7 or 8 32bit or 64bit) 3...contact me on 08061679732...i have only win 10 enterprise 64bit...it wld work for a clean install no matter the os u had.. else contact bill gates(lol) |
martinNO:possible causes: 1..ram memory issues..blowing the ram slot used to work back then but its most likely incompactible ram module..remove the ram modules and fix one by one and restart...or get a working ram and fix.. 2...it might be ur motherboard is faulty- press the caps key to toggle on/off..if it doesnt come on then meet ur hardware tech... |
thorsyne:in addition to what u have been advised to use an installation cd to repair,i suggest u remove ur files safely before u start ur adventure.. for me,it wld av been easy to mount ur hard drive using my hiren tools but u can as well remove ur hard drive and put into a HDD ENCLOSURE and slave to a working system to backup ur files.. else find a competent professional to help u restore ur system easily.. |
all4naija:the attrib command only restores the attributes of ur folders and files temporarily but never removes the causing-virus itself...had a similar case over the weekend and like a joke it took 3hrs to remedy the situation(he is a dj playing live at a lounge)..first,i tried to download the latest kaspersky 2016 antivirus staright to the system(i dint wan infect my hard drive) and the new AV comes wit the complete updates..problem was,i restarted the system then the trojan took over again... solution that worked(i described it some days ago).i put in my live usb and re-installed win7 (not upgrade, clean install without formating the partition)..it would warn u there exists a current OS..not to worry, continue ur installation.. when its done, all ur old files wld be stored in a folder "windows.old"(dont open them yet.. quickly install a strong antivirus and its corresponding updates...now scan the whole computer or just the folder windows.old.. the shortcomings of ths type of recovery is that u will need to re-install alll ur apps but alll ur files wld be intact.. THE BEST METHOD remains...remove the hard drive, put in an external hdd enclosure and scan from a clean system with a strong antivirus...if u wondering why i dint use this method the..its simple--i started getting some messages that some certain systems files were corrupt...its very possible too that some may be corrupt wen u use this method(some infected files may not be disinfected but qurantined and for mr "avast" it wld delete...so in the end u may still have to reload the os! THE WORST METHOD wld be to install an antivirus into an already infected system...pple that right malicious codes aint dumb, the make smart viruses that can render the AV useless the moment its being installed... |
Elegantdiva:hmmm,i knew it was always the "usual suspects":AVAST,2g memory but i never knew VISTA was still alive(i bet u may be only person still using it) solutions: 1..get rid of the VISTA..on its own,its very bulky and consumes all ur memory,i suggest u upgrade to atleast windows 7 ultimate(it wld be the best to carry all those Rdbms(u know wat i mean) u are using)) 2..get rid of the AVAST..its a large consuming AV and its other shortcomings are:it attempts todo a realtime scan on any or everytin u open which in turn makes the system slow--its being responsible for major hardware crashes..u can use it effective if an expert can help u modify the settings. also, avast has no tolerance for infected files...its a STRAIGHT TERMINATOR programmed to delete not quarantine or try to disinfect..wen one or 2 of ur core files have been deleted, then the whole system becomes unstable.. 3..try find out which 10g was installed, then i had my own 10g on linux dual booting wit windows..if its a straight oracle windows-its fine.. 4...2g memory is fairly alright but not on vista(i wld av suggested that u upgrade the ram but it wld come last)u are likely to get better working conditions wen u change ur os,antivirus and one last tin: modify ur services and startup programs ie oracle 10,peachtree are engines(not applications) designed to load automatically in ur system memory on startup...u can tweak then to start manually only wen needed(pls dont ask how yet)resolve first the important issues.. are u a RDBMS expert?i have the necessary dumps if u need(pass4sure) and testking exam engines.. |
Karlebolu:congrats..but i suggest that u tell other "curious" pple ow u resolved it..so we can all learn .. i normally experience that update issue esp wen im needlessly updating drivers using driver pack... here is an advice in the future, before u make important changes on ur system, take a time out to CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT before ur adventurous journey..so when there is a problem,u can easily revert back.. also u can manually ERRORTRAP which update is responsible...HOW? simple, update each app/driver manually and restart..wen u get to the one that makes it unstable u wld know it then avoid it in the future...its important atimes to update but needless too.. |
Gaiyalo:possible causes are: 1..your bootloader may be corrupt 2..your 0s may be corrupt of missing some files 3..your hard disk may have encountered some bad sectors so windows is having trouble reading from them solution: be careful though...most pple aint aware the recommended win 7 for mini laptop is win starter, they force other win 7 versions on it experience serious problems(u can only do that wen u slipstream the version) get a win starter cd to repair the os or press f8 and enter safe mode then do a system restore point..choose a 2 days eaarlierlier towhen when the preoblem started |
Elegantdiva:forgive me miss,ur information is incomplete and not accurate.. im an oracle 10g and a peachtree expert... first u dint state if u installed an oracle 10g on linux on windows or oracle 10g windows... 2..u dint specify how u installed the oracle 10g(if u were to install 10g from windows,u obviously wld need a vmware or its type to simulate it..) 3..u dint state the specification of ur system(memory and hard disk) possible problem are: 1..oracle 10g and its parameters were not properly installed.. 2.peachtree accounting is another powerful engine strong enough to use up ur memory 3..a combination of peachtree+oracle 10g+os simulator(vmware) automatically starting up on a ram memory of even 2g will choke a system(remember ur antivirus is also running and if ur unlucky to even have avast then ur doomed) 4..if ur using an os simulator like vmware and ur system dont pass the minimum requirements test.. so read carefully and fill in the spaces to ur earlier complaints so we can know wer and how to help u... |
igben:wat more wld u expect from a free antivirus..commercial antivirus are never free and very potent..for now, dont even try to install any antivirus on the system...the virus wld render it useless and impotent(its like a policeman man walking into a thieves hideout blindly) here is a brainer that works: method 1- get an up-to-date rescue disk of a strong antivirus like kaspersky and run from live or linux mode to scan the system method 2- u can remove ur harddrive and slave into an external casing then find a clean system with a strong up-to-date antivirus and scan ur hard drive as removable.. method 3- lets say ur system is a win7,get a windows 7 installation cd and try to re-install ur system(its possible the virus wld have infected some system files and some antivirus may not be able to disinfect them but delete them)that way,ur system becomes unstable.. WAIT!not to worry,u aint losing ur files...dont cho0se upgrade but choose clean install,it wld alert u that there is a previos installation of windows, disregard and continue the installation..when ur done, the old installation wld be in a folder called windows.old(dont open it yet). on ur new installation, quickly install an antivirus(not that free jagbamjantis) wit a proper license key and update..wen done,u can now scan the whole system to remove the virus.... mind u,some of ur application wont work as u will have to re-install them but ur files are intact... trade secrets!! |
charlie42:a few days ago,i recently changed my keyboard completely.....(letter t,y,backspace ,shift and caps were not working) naturally, when u use a blower to blow out the dust, the keyboard starts working again.. another option is(advanced user only),use a needle to swipe the connection port pins(where the keyboard connector enters) gently when all these fail,u may have to replace ur keyboard as i did... as for ur mouse, possible causes are: 1-the power rating of ur power adaptor may be incorrect 2-virus activity--u may have to reload ur system and everytin else wld start working 3-the synaptic pad drivers for ur system may be corrupt of missing 4..ur touch pad tray may be fault(very rare for ur keyboard and mouse to go fault at once but possible) besides u dint even mention the model/make of the laptop... |
byko89:thats an old problem i tink i have experienced before on an older system.. PROBLEM:the system NETWORK BOOT is enabled and its even the 1st boot option...ur system endless is searching for network credentials.. SOLUTION:just enter ur bios setup(check the startup page to know which key applies..f2,esc) goto ur boot options disable network boot..(remove it from ur boot options) or make sure it aint the 1st boot option there |
Rick9:your question has to be relevant to a need...your friends system is multi-booting and its even based on the archietecture of his system..here are questions u need to ask urself: 1..what do i need ubuntu or linux for? 2..would your system configuration run steadily for multi0booting(remember u have an intel celeron processor..when overheated,a celeron processor is likely to shutdown...so let a professional advise u better..VMWARE is the perfect tool also,to partition(u call it divide)..u can use windows "shrink volume" procedure or u can get 3rd party softwares like minitool partition wizard(mind u,u have to know what ur doing, its an advanced user tool else anything may go wrong" for ur windows 10 upgrade or clean install... your system is qualified for a windows 10 64bit upgrade(as ur current platform is 64bit) but then u dint specify if its home edition, pro or so..these are where u may encounter problems: 1..microsoft says the upgrade is free..that only applies to users with original microsoft license(oem) so if are using a cracked version or computer village installation key,ur doomed.. 2..you will only be upgraded according to your class,if u are using windows 7(starter,home basic, home premium) or win 8.1---then u can only upgrade to windows 10 home; if win 7(pro,ultimate) and win 8.1 pro---then u can upgrade to windows 10 pro..(mind u,windows 10 enterprise and win 10 student are the best so u wont qualify) 3...u may get compatibility test error ie some applications may not work on win 10..can u imagine kaspersky 2015 cant even work on win 10-kaspersky had to quickly release kaspersky 2016 for us 2wks ago.. 4..last problem, some of ur drivers may not work properly yet wit win 10..i had vga problems last week,it tool an act of God to restore my vga.. to avoid all these problems, for me(not u),i had to do a clean install of win 10 enterprise 64bit cuz i wanted to play fifa 15 ultimate team and my system was windows 7 ultimate 32bit(no bridge or fly over was available) windows 10(enterprise) aint a hype..truly its the best windows ever created(u can pass thru the window now into tablet mode, smartphone apps and even HEAVEN).. call me on 08061679732...if u need any assistance or activation problems |
Palmwinetapper:all those women have traded marriage for an successful career....so once again,i ask u women: "are u the man or u need a man"... |
onuwaje:with that checked,im afraid the other probable cause would be your battery..it may be bad.. u can use this software(s) to check the health of ur battery.. download battery care or baterryinfoview |
harffie:just before u replace the hdd,i suggest u let a professional check for u...im aware the a protect setting in the bios that stops u from reloading atimes...i remember yrs ago on my hp paviliion dv 1659ea..i tried to reload it for over a yr so i cld downgrade it from vista to xp..but i cldnt..then i forced it to format... it took a friends friend at hp us that actually told me the feature to disable in the bios.. also u can remove the harddrive and attach to another computer to run tests on the hdd.. besides,if the hdd aint physically damaged,i can repair, regenerate and restore its contents.. take all the steps before u decide to buy another |
nonxo007:thats a hard disk failure resulting from a corrupt filesystem or operating system or bad sectors or a fatal physical damage.. i know the smartest thing to do would be to try reload or reformat the system...wrong.. in most cases, when a hard drive has been regenerated, the data is been moved to another sector where it can be read and accessed and without doing do much, everytin returns back to normal(the bad sector wld have been marked as BAD)and data wld never be stored there again...formatting wld make u lose the whole data and in the future data wld still be written in the bad sectors..moreso,most pple dont even know the difference btw a quick format and a full unconditional format..a full format would test all the sectors during the format then report the status/condition of the hard disk after formatting it..(this is one of the reasons chinko flashdrives, memory cards never really pass the full format test) subsequently,on recent laptops there is a feature call SMART((Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology)if active on ur laptop would have alerted u prior to this errror message u are just getting |
onuwaje:ow are u so sure that was the exact charger returne back to u...to clear ur doubts, find another charger that is the same rating as whats written under ur laptop and see if u still get the same results |
onuwaje:he rating of the charger is not the recommended one for the laptop..ie if the laptop requires 19v 4.5a and the charger is 18.5 3.5a..then u wld get that error message...check under the laptop to know the exact rating needed then compare to wat the charger is |
