Thank God o! you are highly favored. You are part of the lucky few that recover their stolen vehicles. Point to note- nairalander - Must we always be opportunist anytime someone announces a stolen car the next thing is to start advertising all sorts of car anti theft gadgets the irony of this situation is that most of these products you advertise would let you down when you really need them!!!!! Haba!!!! |
Na wa o!!!!! so why did you post this? you need an advice? for what? i think i am silly for typing a reply, ![]() |
****walked in, read the topic, hissed and left***** |
Please post your picture and we can judge whether you really look that good. |
T cchioke:It seems there is a syndicate collecting Honda models, my friend had a similar experience a month ago, also similar Honda car but earlier model. They were guys on bikes around berger. Give more details, the area and how it was snatched, every information would help. |
There are two types of Okada riders in V.I , the normal okada, the Aboki- speed demons, It is only in lagos that they snatch your phone at the busstop in braod day light, run into the computer village you would see it on sale and they no born you well to claim ownership. It is only in Lagos that mechanic would remove your car original part, replace it with a spoilt part and still collect money for purchase of new part. it is only in Lagos they you look at everybody as potential theif when you just collect money from bank. it is only in Lagos that 5min difference (5:00am and 5:05am) departure time can make you get to work 2 hrs late. If you leave in Berger and work in the V.I. Only in lagos would you see okada drag right of way with 10 ton trailler (Aboki alias Ghost riders) If you are a driver in lagos, everyday you run from Road safety mashal, VIO, Lastma, Local Govt Tout, Kai, Yellow fever, check point Police, Mopol, armed robbers, window cleaner boys, beggars, street hawkers trying to scam you, okadas, trailers with no brake, learner drivers, etc, na wa o! It is only in Lagos you would enter an hospiital with headaches doctor would say you have lung cancer and brain tumor just to fleece you of your money Only in Lagos Chinedu in Chemist would prescribe drugs for sick doctors. the list is endless. |
onokha:Everyday for the thief, someone should complete it for me, i don't know why some peoplew would never investigate products given to them to sell, many innocent people are languishing in jails just because of their carelessness,,Emeshot you might be innocent here but this would teach you a lesson, lets pray you don't get implicated. |
By now it is clear that the car is gone for good except a miracle happens but it would be wise for us to be cautious. It seems there is a syndicate picking up Honda models because i learnt an EOD was snatched near that same area in Ojodu. so if you use Honda model especially Baby boy and EOD, becareful. wacth out for tracking Okada riders especially when they are 2 on a bike and wears helmet. Also be on the look out for vehicles trailing your car or desperately wants to overtake you on a lonely street. I pray your car would not be another statistics in the hands of the Nigerian police. |
well, few weeks ago, i posted that my friends honda bulldog was stolen at gun point by guys on okada who trailed him to his street, i got some ridiculous comments here. does it take similar incidence to happen to you before you sympathise or realise we are in trouble in this country? Chief, eh ya sorry o! i hope nemesis would catch up with the theives; as for the nigerian police, forget that side!!!!! ![]() I think Seun should create on nairaland a section for stolen cars where people can put details of the stolen cars and nairalanders can be on the look out for such cars and also where security experts can give advice on cases. |
TheSeeker:Yep, upgrading, same way Rihanna upgraded to Chris Brown and Chris did a fist uppercut downgrading!!!! |
That means you all agree that it is ok to do that abi?especially the replies of majority of the girls implies likewise. well, No problem, what goes round comes round, if na man do that kin thing, you girls would bring down the roof of Nairaland with condemnation, e dey ya body!!!! |
I have a friend that had a girlfriend on a reality music show sponsored by MTN, before his girlfriend got into the house, they were both madly in love with promise of marriage. No sooner she got into the house and Fame came her way, we started noticing her frolicing with a male housemate, the camera caught her once but i didn't want to be the one to disclose that to my friend. The funny but sad tales was that my friend used all his money to send text to vote for her, kept vigil at the venue to give her all the support but at the end of it all when she got out of the show she ditched him for one of the contestants. I heard one of the girls in BBA wants to do same, ditch her current boyfriend. Why do people do such, some even go to the extent of saying boyfriend while their boyfriend is actually watching them live on TV. Na wa o! What love of money and fame would cause for this country!!!!! |
On a good day, if Yobo no get money, that girl no go touch am with a 10 foot pole not to talk of engage or marry!!!!!! women and money!!!!!! God dey! |
Fhemmmy:See, i'm not saying getting a good bargain on vehicle sales is a crime but when you buy a car and the whole scenerio seems suspicious, do not just ignore it and say i'm lucky, report the case. Crime fighting is a joint responsibilty, if the police won't help us why don't we help ourselves. if you have a friend with doubtful character; report him, if you don't you might be his victim oneday. The incidents of stolen vehicle is now on the rise, December is around the corner. Please be careful, do not maintain a regular routine i.e. going to work and coming back at a predictable time. When driving be vigilant of trailing bikes or cars, roll up your glass in hold ups (whether you have A/C or not). The funny thing about us Nigerians is that we never learn from others experience. An advice for the criminals; one thing i'm sure of, you can't create unrest for others to buy peace for yourself! Everyday for the thief, one day for the owner!!! |
jay bee:To reply your question i have a quote, "Bad things would definitely happen to bad people" does this statement means Bad things don't happen to good people too? Thats the answer to your question. Nevertheless whatever a man sows, he shall reap. Please do not qoute me out of context i.e. in isolation of the whole fact of the case, I said "If you buy a stolen car, it would be stolen from you" I did not say all stolen cars were previously stolen too. I'm sad because i have been a victim too and i know how it feels, mine was moderate; my laptops, phones and documents at gun point. It is not our generation i'm afraid for but the generations to come, Instead of trying to find a loophole in my statement think about the facts of the case. ![]() |
I helped a friend to get a flat in my area Ojodu, yesterday he called me that his car has just been snatched at gun point on his street. There were two bikes with four guys, the two bikes blocked him, pointed the gun at him and snatched the car. It is a dark green Honda Bulldog i can't remember the Reg. No now. It's so sad that you work hard to get the comfort of life and some b-st-rd would come and take it away. Please beware of some cars you are buying, they may be stolen cars, don't just buy a car when it is a good bargain, always ensure you do enough investigation to know the previous owner if possible. Lets be security proactive, any car parked and hooded in your area or compound and you suspect the owner cannot explain its history; please inform the police, if you think this is stupid I pray you would never be a victim and know how it feels. Reasons If you buy a stolen car, it would be stolen from you too. what goes round comes round, Law of Karma. Avoid police wahala, if the robbers are caught you would be in big trouble too. Be your brothers keeper, anyone can be a victim. |
What the hell is everyone talking about ![]() when did virginity go out of fashion? it is similar to saying, Most Nigerian leaders are thieves, therefore stealing is good and all Nigerian are thieves![]() for those that says virginity is lack of opportunity; don't worry your sisters and your daughters would find plenty opportunities, infact they would take hold of every opportunity until they become opportunist.-Amen.If abstinence is out of fashion just remember HIV and STDs aren't out of fashion. The only thing i would agree with others is that virginity would not guarantee you a successful marriage but it's a good start. Moral decadence is the order of the day, it's so shameful that some girls have lost count of the number of men they've slept with, they are still counting and they are very proud of it !!!!!! If you think sex would keep that guy tied to you then you are the greatest foooooool!!!!!!!!!!! |
Seun:i was expecting someone to say the right thing and Seun finally said it, he is a smart one. , This is a situation they called Notional Prepositional Agreement. You can use IN or ON, depending what you have in mind. If you use IN, you refer to V.I as the Name of a Location, If you use ON,you refer to V.I as a geographical attribute. Sorry i'm no English teacher but if you have written GMAT International (for American Masters program), you would be familiar with all these. |
Rome was not built in a day, the problem with most of us is that we are not patient. Spread your net wide, the competition in big companies is so so so much. Not everyone would start big but they would end up big, what really matters is the experience. Keep studying your GMAT, Know the current affairs, improve your interpersonal skills, improve your communication skills, be confident when you attend interview, ask your interviewers questions, speak intelligently and last but not the least; trust in God, be faithful and wait for His time. There is no shortcut to the top of a palmtree!!!! Trust me I've been there!!! Peace unto you. |
I was watching a program on Zone, Near Death Experience of Stars. There was particular case where a Guy pet Tiger almost tore him apart, although he brought up this Tiger from birth and the Tiger really loves him but it didn't stop the Tiger from tearing him apart because a Tiger would always be a Tiger!!!!! Lesson, A woman is like the Tiger, yes they love you, yes you two are very close, but one thing you can't take from her, her nature. Your woman earns more than you? trouble waiting to happen!!!!! It is not a life threatning situation but thing might get really ugly.trust me i know, i know some women would react to this mail badly, but it doesn't change the truth, Guys when you wake up every morning, say one prayer line, when i get married, make me the head of my Family in all ramification. I'm now an accountant in Nigeria biggest communication company and i earn far beyond my spouse but i've been there before,it happens everyday among friends, family, school, church, work etc, Till the world comes to an end, this formula would never change- Men seek women, Women seek money, |
I have actually had several terrible experience with the men of the underworld, the latest was on 2nd April 2009. I work on the island and live on the mainland, i am the typical backpack carrying, laptop carrying, tie wearing, glasses wearing guy. On this particular day i worked late (accountant), my manager dropped me near the bridge opposite JULI pharmacy in Ikeja, near computer village, As soon as i alighted from his car; i was accousted by six guys on 3 bikes, two came down with guns, asked me what i had in my backpack, i said nothing, they hit me and dragged the bag from me, they took everything i had, My offical Laptop, 3 phones, my ATM card, My documents, my ID cards, all other stuffs i cant remember till today, they pushed me to the ground, jumped on the bike and was looking at me as they were driving away, a police was near there, i ran to him and he just shook his head and smiled helplessly, i ran to Area F, the policemen there told me Nemesis would catch up with the thieves, i was there till midnite writing statement, nextday the police demanded for money to give me a police extract. The guys that robbed me were young nice looking boys, wore face caps, the irony is that some may even be on Nairaland and reading this message, the traumatic experience stayed with me for a while, its just funny how your sweat would be taken away from you with force, what excuse do they have? i am a struggling guy myself, i'm working hard, what excuse do they have?, I have moved on with my life but they are cursed for what they did to me and every other innocent people in that ikeja, ![]() |
@ poster Even A fool is considered wise until he opens his mouth to talk, Whatever you call yourself, you are an ignorant S.O.B, A Bastard would always show himself as one regardless of his upbringing, I believe you are not a nigerian, in this age and time? If people are deceiveing you, dont deceive yourself, I'm not sorry for you but for your father and mother that wasted their time that particular night you were conceived, can you believe this IDIOT's boldness to declare an ill gotten wealth, Nigeria is in trouble!!!!!! ![]() |
The situation is what i call VICIOUS CYCLE OF POVERTY, That means we keep going in circles, you earn salary, you borrow money before the month ends to augument your expenses, at month end you collect your salary to pay off loans, you borrow new loan to meetup before the end of the month, you collect your salary to pay off the loan, you borrow loan to meetup again, and it goes on, The cycle is completed!!!!!! The children of the rich gets good job cos they have connections regardless of what grades or what schools they attended, they become bossess of their seniors at work because they can afford a UK or US masters program, When i was in the labour market, i went for a PZ test that only needed 30 management trainees, over 10,000 jobless graduates came for the test, PZ staffs has internal candidate that wont write test, those ones were even more than 30, so tell me "when the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?", Elected politicians are getting richer by the day, senators and Reps members are living in paradise, sharing the blood of people in Niger Delta, The president is a weakling, Ministers are incompetent, PHCN is a whole new topic on Nairaland, its a demon we cant cast out, My Refridgerator has become a cupboard full of cockroaches, i even hang my shirts inside, I REST MY CASE, THE VICIOUS CYCLE OF POVERTY!!!!!! |
I have noticed the zeal with which we all seek for Jobs, especially graduates with no experience, the desperation that would make you accept any offer of employment. Employers have capitalised on this, you see a situation whereby a driver vacancy seeks for HND holder with upper credit. What of the pay? Ask workers in Lekki, any offer in Lekki that pays you lower than N50,0000 per month, you would be running at a loss, Imagine someone living in Sango ota, working in Lekki, you leave your house by 4.30am and return by 10.30pm, another name for Nightcrawlers or Batmen and women. Working condition is another thing entirely, No break, salaries come late, No welfare or Health facilities, all your sweat makes your greedy boss richer, so what makes you different from a slave? You dare not leave cos there are millions of jobless graduate waiting for something bad to happen to you, Everyman for himself God for us all, N.B- I'm working with a consulting Firm in V.I. |
Your tale is a fabricated one but has a resemblance to reality, Personal experience, For those whose case might be true, You better holdon to your marriage and please your husband, Let those girls that said your husband is Daft donate thier Boyfriends to you so that you wont end up comfortless, or let them allow you move into thier homes so you wont be homeless, cos when your marriage fails, your weight would be the least of your problems, |
We Nigerian are gullible people, they believe anything, thats why 90% of us fall into the Hands of "419", money doublers, con artist, Fake prophets, etc, Thats why churches are making hell of money and Herbal drug makers are millionaires!!!!!! If half of what we claim to have achieved are true, Nigeria won't be in the situation we are today. Everyone wants to be a Millionaire over night, especially we the youths, Hardwork is old fashion but scam(mers) are King of the streets!!!!!! About the one with the Bike, He alone knows the truth, As for me i reserve my opinion, but one thing i'm sure of. He who chases after the wind, would eventually reap a whirlwind, |
i should forward your details to EFCC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 |
there was a time in my secondary school then soldier were introduced to build man o war out of us, these soldiers were terrible, coming late to school was hell, with them at the gate, entering school was like entering heaven, we used to scale the fence until they discovered us, one of those days, we came late and jumped the fence, i was on the chubby side so they had to push me over the fence, to my horrors, i landed on the ground while staring at a shineing boots!!!!!! Alas, i landed at the foot of a waiting soldier, the funny thing is that we were told not to warn our yet to jump accomplices, t'was that day i learnt how to plant my head,a sure cure for running nose, we were given a befitting beating reserved for hardened criminals, infact i still have the marks on my back. The soldier met their water loo when the principal caught their oga hand on a students bra, trust the iron lady, she bundle them out with happy cheers from the students |
I couldnt do anything in the office today cos of this post, just couldnt take my eyes off, i started reading this post around 3pm, and now its around 5pm, i have never read anything so interesting, please, lets make a best seller out of this, lets make a book, Seun, its an idea, it could be titled, Crazy things we did in High school, it would be a hit, then with more contributors, i've had a good laugh, My contribution-I had a very very interesting High school days, I attended All the Schools in Maryland,(ikeja) In primary school, i invented the draught (draft)in my class, it became the in-thing in the whole school, so when the teacher was taking us maths, we would hide and be playing it, one day, a particular teacher noticed our inattention, she caught us unawares and told us to report ourselves to the headmaster, Fortunately, the headmasters secretary son was among so the secretary begged the teacher for us, we escaped suspension, The class was asked to bring flowers, we all forgot and the teacher was the mean type! so next morning we jumped into the garden of the convent near us and recked the whole treasured garden of the Nuns in the convent, they actually came out and cursed us, Men they treasure the garden like thier children(may God forgive us) In Jss 1, we invented dry garri mixed with sugar, you would then use the empty biro case to "smoke" the garri out of paper just like cocaine, but my class captain was caught during a lesson smoking garri, He was embarrassed, |
