Immediate Past Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has advised leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, Benue States and the FCT to unite and work together as the success of the party in the next national elections depends on its ability to win across the North Central Zone.
Saraki while addressing delegates during the Zonal Congress of the Party in Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, on Saturday Saraki noted that in all the past elections that PDP won at the national level, the party has always recorded sound victory in the North Central Zone and that the calculations has not changed.
“We have looked at the statistics for past elections since 1999 and projected into the 2023 elections, for PDP to return to control of federal power, the party needs to return to winning ways in this Zone.

Bandits have attacked Government Science Secondary School, Ikara in Kaduna State. The armed men invaded the school in the early hours of Sunday but their plot to abduct students was foiled by the military, according to Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.

Aruwan confirmed that all 307 students of the school are safe. “The attempted kidnap was foiled. Fortunately, the students utilised the security warning system and were thus able to alert security forces. The security forces comprises the Nigerian Army and the Police with some security volunteers moved swiftly to the school to engage the bandits, the military and police are currently trailing the bandits,” he said. The incident happened two days after 39 students were abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Afaka, Igabi local government area of the state. The gunmen were reportedly heading to a secondary school but when they learnt that security had been beefed up at their target location, they invaded the school. This is the third major feat recorded by security operatives in Kaduna in the last 48 hours. Daily Trust had reported how soldiers prevented gunmen from abducting students of a Turkish school in Kaduna. Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has marked East High Academy for demolition, Igbere TV reports.
IGBERE TV gathered that the School is owned by former Governor of the State, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
Speaking to journalists, Imo State Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba said apart from the school, more property belonging to Senator Rochas Okorocha which were illegally acquired have been recovered.
IGBERE TV recalls that the police had arrested Sen. Okorocha during a fracas over the government sealing of a hotel, Royal Spring Palm Hotel, belonging to his wife.
However, Sen. Okorocha, was later released from the police headquarters, Owerri, where he was briefly detained and asked to respond to a complaint filed against him by the Imo State Government.
Since he left office as governor in 2019, Sen. Okorocha has been having a political battle with his successor, Mr Uzodinma.
Both men are members of Nigeria’s ruling party, APC.
How does the governor expects the affected teachers and dependant to survive this Buhari economy for 5 grueling years without salary ?
