More like the only way you want Biafra achieved is via war, where you believe you would have upper hand as you continue to count on the super nations of the world to support your war efforts.
You don't want peaceful dissolution, which is not surprising, considering that Gowon your frontrunner did the same..
Truth is, he is right. The only way Biafra can be achieved is via war since most of its citizens call for death or Biafra.

As much as I admire your post, I must confess that it reeks of bias and subjectivism. Perhaps you didn't know that top powerhouses were divided between Biafra and Nigeria?

Nigeria was supported by;
USA
United Kingdom
Soviet Union
Bulgaria Bulgaria
Egypt
Syria
Algeria

While Biafra was supported by:
France France
Israel
Portugal Portugal
Spain
South Africa
Rhodesia (Presently unrecognized)
Tanzania

Both sides had good back ups and Ojukwu even got the help of Belgium by bringing in Belgian mercenaries.

What you don't know is that if there be another civil war in Nigeria, Nigeria would have to sign away its future in slavish pacts and trade agreements to those super nations to attract their support to supply them with unlimited weapons to suppress Biafrans again.
If there is another civil war, God forbid, Nigeria would not only suffer the casualty. The other side would receive more blows than Nigeria itself. Ojukwu never wanted a peaceful dissolution and he thought he had everything all mapped out until he saw that the odds were in his favour, which prompted him to flee to Abidjan.

Trust is, Biafra too would get the support of other countries. Don't be surprised that a particular country try might be selling weapons to both. After all, it is profit first before allegiance.

It is either you have your cash at hand or trade with other means you have.

And when the dust settles, Nigeria will become worst than it is today, as your super power helpers are not father Christmas and would demand for their reward.
I don't pray the current madness generate to this level but I can assure you, those who would stand by Biafra would surely ask that they be paid, just as the Belgian mercenaries left when Ojukwu could no longer pay them.

And so I ask, is it worth it? Why can't the black man learn to peacefully divide Africa into real nations without getting the Caucasians to enslave us all in needless war support pacts?
Are we saying that the colonial abominations created by the Caucasians in 1886 with aim to exploit indigenous people are the best we can do as a people.
Before you blame the black nation for the present woes, let it be known that no country has ever seceeded peacefully. That Spain and Catalan are yet to means they haven't gotten to the brink. This is not just about the black man. Yes, Caucasians enslaved us but an Igbo man thwarted the North from seceeding and even signed the anti-secession law you suffer from today.

Nigeria is not a super power like China, she doesn't manufacture weapons and so can't keep a formidable major ethnic group like Ndiigbo down in an all out war without soliciting for help from Super powers. She can't afford to keep Igbos down like China is doing to Tibet without getting itself exploited in the process
Interesting but true, and last I checked, Igbos don't manufacture weapons too. Understand that no two groups/countries/territories clash in isolation. The exploitation is not for Nigeria to worry about so long its purpose is served.

So what on God's earth are you talking about?

Don't blame them. Majority groups worldwide are always interested or desperate over minority groups in order to use them for greater influence, significance and to do their bidding.

This is one fact i wish the OP fratermathy should also know.
South-South minority groups are even lucky because they have a greater autonomy unlike those of us minorities from the North-Central and North-east whom are always overshadowed by Hausa-fulanis.
And to worsen our plight, Hausa-fulanis have succeeded in using religion (islam) to divide our people and gain the allegiance of our muslim groups. It's just sad.

Can't u see how the Russians were stripped of being world power and lost their world influence as soon as the Soviet union collapsed and the minority groups liberated? This is one thing most majority groups dread.
This is so on point, but trust me, majority of the Biafran foot soldiers on here don't have in depth political analysis. All they know is when Biafra was formed, who starved them and whom they won't forgive even in their Graves.

Their sudden love for the Urhobos is bent on two things; the oil and the water passage way to the Atlantic for trades.

True, knowing full well that there is greater autonomy is the sole purpose of the region being calm even in the face of provocation.

The funniest thing is, these online agitators only end up causing more damage in their bid to force alliances on minority groups that wield more influences than them.

Ask them to read up on the Scottish referendum and the Catalan referendum and they would tell you that they have, yet, they take away nothing from the two citations as lessons for tomorrow.

Interestingly, they leave out their regions and claim they intend berthing the capital of their utopia in areas belonging to minority groups.

Today is almost gone. They would scratch their butts and resume their land grabbing activities again tomorrow. Perhaps tomorrow would be Ore since it is considered a part of the Delta.

Oniovo me. Vwor ruru! Do!

These ekpari'hwo just cannot accept the reality that we are not interested. Who gave them the right to speak for us? We all know the facts of the matter.

I raised simple issues with their Biafran agitation and see what their responses were. None of them even pretended to shove aside their Igbocentricism. They are so igbocentric yet they want non-Igboid groups in their Biafra. The way they rush to defend their cause without objectively addressing facts shows us how they would do in their Biafra. No sane Urhobo man ever thinks of Biafra as a choice.

We discussed this thread in Urhobo People's Forum group on Facebook and in South South People's Forum group. You need to see how the reality didn't even surpise all of us. Even the few that were indifferent are now strongly anti-Biafra!

They keep creating enemies. They said I shiold substantiate my statement that only 1% of minority groups are interested in Biafra yet fail to prove otherwise even when there are statements from the recognised socio-cultural mouthpieces of these groups; even when many of us have come to this thread to deny Biafra! Some of them are even impersonating Urhobos now. See the video of this IPOB idi*t, whose accent is clearly Igbo, claiming to be Urhobo here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8Wr4zq73dU

After impersonating us, they upload videos on the Internet, the likes of what one of them uploaded on this thread to say Rivers and Akwa Ibom women support them even when it is clear that these minorities have rejected their Biafra. Erue ri'hwo!

I asked them why they want to create another Nigeria in the name of freedom and they can't answer. You want a country. Why don't you take your people alone? Must you drag others with you? All the minorities have their own destinies and fights and Biafra is not one of them.

They ask me whether i have a right to speak for Urhobo and the minorities without asking themselves who gave them to rights to speak for Igbo and the minorities!

They said they need referendum. Oghene biko o! Did we ask for one? Has any group asked for one? Even if any has asked, was it so that they would be Biafrans?

The reality is glaring and they have refused to accept it. Just like in the issues I raised, they argued with emotions and tribal sentiments rather than logic and reason. They acted like the semi-literate IPOB traders that they are!

Okoh, biko yanjia vwo. Awanre mla ye vughe nurhe. Ayen rhi ihwo gbogbo. Ayen vwon ohor o! Biko rue mu ofa. Doh! Kobiruo!

Ekuogbe r'Urhobo v'Isoko Wadoooooo!

Hailings to my Efik, Ibibio, Oron, Eket, Anaang, Epie-Atissa, and Edo people!
Our destiny is in our hands, not in the hands of any other group or tribe!
I died laughing! grin

He said his name is Oghene-ochuko blah blah blah. They don't know that the first letter from the latter part of a compound name is eliminated. This impostor couldn't even say OGHENECHUKOME! cheesy cheesy cheesy

For every thing, there is a point of no return. And like the adage would say, a dog that would get lost would not listen to the whistle of the hunter.

I don't understand this level of land grabbing antics one bit! It beats my imagination! I guess they want to assist us in developing the Delta since they are done with Lagos cheesy

That we are open to all and sundry doesn't mean we can't be hostile and territorial if need be. This video would fan their ego but wouldn't lift a hair on an Urhobo fellow because it is obvious the dialectics is missing.

They want the oil and want the water. It is obvious that they are not ready. When they are, they wouldn't think of others before leaving. Funny folks! cheesy

Count us out of your plans – Urhobo nation tells Biafra proponents

The Urhobo Progressive Union, UPU, has denounced its inclusion in the proposed map of Biafra by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, warning that Urhobo and its territories should be counted out of any IPOB plan.

Faulting its purported membership of Biafra in a statement issued yesterday, the UPU National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Mumakai-Unagha said, “IPOB have their rights of agitation for freedom of self determination as enshrined in the united nation declaration stressing that other ethnic groups should not be dragged along to avoid the mistake that led to the civil war.

“The magnanimity of Urhobos in allowing Igbos celebrate the Igbo Cultural Day should not be taken for granted as we urge IPOB to delist Urhobo from its proposed map,” they stated.

kingzizzy:
Whenever someone from the minorities of Nigeria says they are not interested in a referendum, it is a clear case of an impostor.

The minorities of Nigeria rarely have a say in what happens in Nigeria or how their future is decided.

So when someone is intent on making themselves more minor by denying themselves their right to a democratic referendum, then the person cannot be from the minorities. The minorities have had their oil wealth stolen for years, the suffer the effects of Oil exploration and they have been impoverished. It is not in that situation anyone rejoices about one Nigeria.

I remember what Asari Dokubo said about Itsekiris in his his phone call to Radio Biafra a few weeks where he declared himself a Biafran. He disparaged them saying that only a referendum will allow them be part of Biafra. However, facts do not lie. Urohbos have become regular callers on Radio Biafra, the head of IPOB in Delta state is actually an Urohbo man. A few weeks ago, Radio Biafra was hosted in Urohbo language. I even.learnt some Urohbo that dat and was surprised that the word for 'blood' means the same thing in Urohbo and Igbo languages. Many Urohbos called in and pledged allegiance to Biafra.

So whoever started this thread is ignorant, naieve and definitely not from one of the minorities.
This is so unfortunate. Sorry, it only goes to show how shallow-minded you are. Perhaps you would call Igbos who don't align with Biafra as Osus or slaves, perhaps Igbos whose blood have been perverted.

The Itsekiris in question speak like the Yorubas, does that mean we should call them Yorubas just because Urhobo and Igbo call blood almost the same, and as such be the same?

I'll help you here. By design, the minorities you speak of, hold more power and influence over the country because they control the country's resources. Now, who wouldn't want to listen to the Urhobos or the Ijaws when they talk, knowing full well that they have the oils and pipelines at their disposal?

The so called minorities in the South South are not just minorities. It would be very easy for the FG to listen to the Urhobo/Itsekiri/Ijaw/Isoko monarchs before listening to the Ohaneze ndi Igbo. It's quite sad but it's the truth.

By the way, most of those who have impoverished the region are people from the region. The likes of Tompolo, Boyloaf and Asari Dokubo have all co tribute their massive share into desolating the creeks. So before you blame the North for certain woes which does not concern you, I'd suggest you study these things well.

Asari Dokubo is most angry today because his means and source of income has been blocked. His open agitation is just to keep him afloat and relevant in the scheme of things.

Biafra might have been hosted in French last week, that is none of our concern. The Gospel truth is that the Igbo man is not special in the eyes of an Urhobo man than the Yorubas/Ibibios/Anangs and the Hausas. We see everyone as one and the same.

If we would want to break away. Trust me, it wouldn't be with Biafra.

Below is a 2015 piece.

Uyo —The ethnic nationalities of the South- South geo-political zone, yesterday, denounced demands for Biafra by Igbo in the South-East zone and called for an immediate cessation of pro-Biafra protests on their soil.

This came as the South East Governors Forum, SEGF, summoned an emergency meeting of Igbo leaders to discuss the persisting protests by members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which have paralysed economic activities in the old Eastern region.

In a 10-point communique issued at Uyo at the end of a meeting held under the auspices of the Conference of Ethnic Nationalities of the South-South at Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, chaired by HRM, Obong (Dr) EU Ekidem, Ntisong Ibibio III, the Ntisong of Ibibio land, they dissociated the South-South zone from the “so-called Biafra.”

Representatives of Ibibio, Efik, Anang, Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Ikwerre, Oro, Isoko and several other nationalities attended the summit.

Among them were the interim chair of the group, HRM Ekidem, Convener of the meeting and Secretary of the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILoT, Delta state, Barrister Edward Ekpoko, Albert Akpomudje, SAN (Urhobo) and president general of Ogbakor- Ikwerre in Rivers state, Prof A.M Onyeozu.

Pastor Nelson CocoBassey (Efik ethnic nationality), Ulap Bidiak Uloh (Oro ethnic nationality), Amechi Ogbonnia (Itsekiri), Obong Ukpong Umoh and Obong Aniedi Ndem were at the conference and signed the communique.

The South South nationalities said, “We will not allow any inch of the land of the ethnic nationalities mentioned above and other lands of the South-South to be part of the ill-thought-out enterprise.

“We call for a halt to demonstrations for Biafra on our land henceforth as it touches on the collective sensibilities of our people and could provoke ethnic crisis.

“We are not only surprised but shocked that Igbos who returned to Nigeria after the fall of Biafra in January 15, 1970 with tales of woes and horrors can talk about Biafra.”

They added: “It is in the interest of Igbos that Nigeria is protected as they have more investments outside their homeland.”

The Conference called on governors, political leaders and traditional rulers of the South-East geopolitical zone to “speak out now as their silence is becoming eloquent.”

Furthermore, the South-South ethnic nationalities urged “well-meaning Igbos to call their children/wards to order to prevent an avoidable crisis.”

“We call on the law enforcement agencies to be more vigilant. “We believe in one Nigeria and will do all within our power to protect the unity of Nigeria,” they stated.

Sahara Reporters screwed up again like they always do. All these grasping at straws is doing them no favours. They should investigate properly before rushing to the media. Someone has to hold them to account so they can inculcate proper ethics into their journalism
Read between the lines here. Any HOD can waive a course on behalf of a student, no one is disputing that. The question is, did he graduate despite the waiver? Pardon me for mismatched elitism.

The contention is distortion/misplacement of facts. You mentioned the contraption as Zik's "brainchild " which is wrong. He supported the idea, but never originated it.

See the meaning of brainchild as attached.
Quite true. I take that blame. Again, the 'contraption' might have been birthed by a Brit, it does not take away the fact that an Igbo man moved against the Hausas when they considered leaving the 'contraption'.

It is pretty much interesting to know that his speech and anti-secession pact which is coming to haunt most Igbos today is not being frowned at. If there seems to be an anomaly anywhere, it is allowing the Hausas stay against their wish.

For the umpteenth time, what is the Biafran ideology?

2. When was the Northern and Southern Protectorates merged by Lord Lugard ("The contraption"wink... )

3.How old was Zik of Africa then?

Your objective response to the above questions go further to corroborate the unbalanced and sentimental viewpoint as already established on here about the OP and his fellow comrades.

Biafrans remain objective irrespective of whose ox is gored.
It is laughable to know most of don't even understand the history of Nigeria, let alone come out to talking about it. I guess it was never revealed to you that the late Zik threatened the North in 1953 for wanting to pull out of the 'contraption'?

Maybe someone is not following the trend.

For your information, many housas and Yorubas share in the ideology of Biafra. I overheard an housaman publicly profess his unshakable loyalty to Biafra if they leave, that he would seek its citizenship.

You can only speak for yourself but when the chips are down, the turn of events may be the greatest surprise of the century. Tell me who is not tired of the contraption we have as a country!
Tell a whole lot of lies to yourself to massage your ego. As it stands, every region has its secession plan, save the Hausas. They are not ready because they rely on the Oil in the Delta, at least, pending when oil would be discovered in Benue and the Basin.

The Yorubas have the Afenifere who has always made their interest known as piloting the Odùduwà region, just as the Delta areas have been whispering the Niger Delta region. So trust me, until 2/3 of the Delta scream Biafra, know that a referendum of the entire region is nothing but a pipeline dream.

Unfortunately, the 'contraption' is the brain child of the late Nnamdi Azikiwe. The Hausas never wanted to be a part but he claimed other regions needed them. Therefore, if there is anyone you should be cussing and cursing for your woes, it is none other than the late Zik who thought to wake hornets with fire.

So tell me again, what is it the ideology of Biafra that the Hausas and some Yoruba people share?

Is it possible not to include consideration in an offer b4 acceptance? I want to believe this is just an anecdota but not real? OFFER-CONSIDERATION-ACCEPTANCE. These three are d basic elements of any valid contract. Pls clear us on this.
I would want to believe he is trolling. It is not possible for a company to ask you to resume with them without discussing your NET and GROSS, alongside perks.

Besides, he gave himself away by painting a picture of a well structured coy 'there's this organisation who's name has gained so much acclaim that I thought those working there are swimming in money.' and then failed to follow through, thereby hinting us that it is a one man business 'I told him outrightly that it was too small. He then said he will ask his boss so he can add something then he will get back to me tomorrow.'

Besides, I know of companies providing accommodation to certain staff, but doing so with the company's premises when it is not a teaching/security job?

This is definitely unleavened bread. I no chop.

I see people smiling and laughing all over the thread when it is not in any way funny.

Here is a graduate who can't even spell properly let alone string words together. Unfortunately, these are the types of graduates our institutions produce. If it is not the Dino type of Students, then it must be this. You ask them to send their CV to an E-mail address and they just do so without a cover letter, no introduction, nothing.

This is heartbreaking, biko.

Yorubas and Hausa Fulani people were not invited. Therefore, no referendum will hold in their place
Oh! So referendum only takes place in certain areas you say it should hold just because you invite them? cheesy

I'm sure you understand why some of us still believe your agitation is bent on greed and confusion?

I want to believe you are educated. However, let me show you how it works;

We have to first show interest before a referendum can be extended to us. And by interest, I'm talking almost about 2/3 of the people.

Some of you don't just understand how these things work. Pity.

I don't understand why people hate Tboss this much when she is the second most interesting person in the house presently after Bisola.

She has my votes and she is obviously not going home come Sunday.

Don't speak for other Urhobos, they will speak for themselves through a referendum
You know, you can as well take a referendum to the Yorubas or Hausas. One thing is this, I don't need to act as the voice of the Urhobo nation before it takes every one of us to figure why IPOB is interested in lumping us with them.

A referendum would only affect a part of Delta and not the entire state.

why are u guys fighting over nothing? I would prefer to see a constructive and robust discussion on the need to restructure the country. i am an indigenous Biafran and a citizen of Nigeria. i want to see this country restructured as a confederation. every section of the country should develop itself and contribute to the national purse. the confederation should legislate on defence, foreign policies, immigration, aviation and space technology, marine and oceanology and few other sectors. the federating state could take charge of every other sectors like; education, agriculture, mining and commerce etc .

my humble opinion though. May God bless Ndi Biafra. God bless federal Republic of Nigeria.
This is sensible but then, it won't happen. Most of these parts thinking of breaking away have the intent of doing so without looking back.

Besides, confederation is not realistic. The closest we have to it today is the EUROPEAN UNION and we all know what is happening with the UK today. Eventually, even those within a confederal state would think of pulling out as they would believe it is high time 'they took over their own destinies'.
