Nnemuka:Look past those 'little things' and bring yourself to like the good part of me. Why we often find it difficult liking people is because we unconsciously look out for the horrible part of them and then take note without knowing it. |

ornicus:True that most snakes don't take care of their young but there are a few that watch over their eggs and even babies, albeit a short period of time. Can't confirm if the snake uploaded by the OP is a viper since he captured the belly area. |

Eh yah... ![]() Unfortunately, no one geopolitical zone can singlehandedly make their own a president in Nigerian politics. IPOB and the hunch man have abused, insulted and ran their mouths almost against all other zones in the country while Igbo politicians looked on out of fear. It's a game of numbers and I very much doubt we'd be seeing an Igbo candidate fronting for any of the two political parties. PDP, as it is, will most likely hand theirs to Atiku while the APC will look the South West direction. Perhaps it is time to put APGA to test. |
Ryan03:Summary of her post: Tit for tat. |
Florblu:My point is, your mindset reveals you have a space already reserved for 'wàhálà', particularly when your other half buys something solely in his name. Before it gets to that point, spend more time looking/talking for/about these stuff prior to marriage. If you sit a male down and he tells you that he sees no reason why he should buy properties in both your names, then by all means bail or walk away to avoid future problems. The idea of doing things seperately, particularly property related voids marriage design. I know some would claim 'anything can happen tomorrow'. The idea of 'anything can happen' in itself gives an idea that they are going into a lifetime commitment with a higher probability of bailing tomorrow. I sincerely wonder what people discuss in courtship these days. |
nlPoster:The family section is a toxic place brimming with masculists/meninists and feminists. You barely read one tale about a happy home there. Rather, it is one problem or the other. |
Florblu:This, right here, is one of the problems and mindset people take into marriage. If you have already reserved a space to be 'petty' this way instead of looking for someone who shares the whole idea of 'what belongs to you belongs to us', I'd say it is better to stay away from marriage because problems will start the very moment you look out for those receipts and don't find your name. |
The world's understanding of marriage today is very scary. If people go into a union with the intent that there'd be trouble, then it doesn't make sense at all, not in any way. IT DOES NOT DEPEND ON AGREEMENT. By default, what a man owns belongs to his immediate family (wife and kids) and by default the same should apply to women. The idea of family members will always be secondary. If a man solely buys a property in his name just because IT IS HIS MONEY, then there's a problem already because the world will ask questions when his wife does same. Bulk of these problems which shouldn't be a big deal is as a result of lack of proper or no counseling. Marriage, today, is no longer an institution but a contract where both parties just while away time, waiting for the day issues would come and one or both will bail. |
LearnITsmash:How do you comprehend stuff? She's a queen. What can one sugar papa provide that the Aláàfin cannot? What is wrong with some of you? |
LZAA:A whole lot of you were handed one sided or half truths. The CIA published a material about two years ago, blaming Ojukwu for the death of Igbos who died of starvation. I'm sure you never saw it. That said the counter coup was a reprisal of the first. The first wasn't even a coup but an attempt at getting the North out of the way. Unfortunately, it was championed by Igbo soldiers, so what are you talking about? At the emboldened, I'm glad you know all is fair in war but how you all scream Awolowo's name for starving your people beats me. |
Beverlyjean:Not at all. They didn't cause it and they didn't start it. An Igbo coup did. Nigeria's first elected leader who was a Northerner was assassinated in the coup. Some Northern elites were targeted and killed while Igbo politicians were either out under house arrest or 'went on leave', just like Nnamdi Azikiwe. The soldiers didn't stop their, they posted bloodied pictures of assassinated Northern leaders on walls in the North and even shared the graphic details of the assassinations with their Northern soldiers who were lesser in rank. No doubt, the coup failed because Nzeogwu who led the coup and Ojukwu never agreed. The former was a younger colleague to Ojukwu and Ojukwu who knew about the coup ab initio foiled it to prevent a younger soldier from becoming his head. The North retaliated the attack by killing innocent Igbos residing among them. In the East, a reprisal followed but it wasn't as strong as that of the North. Ojukwu had plans, no doubt, he foiled the coup for one major reason, to get Nzeogwu who was younger in rank out of the way. That wasn't just it, Oil had been discovered in the then Old Eastern Region roughly three years before the war. Ironically, the North had wanted to pull out of Nigeria prior to the discovery of oil (14 years before the war) but Azikiwe read the riot act to the Northern Elites in Yaba, in 1953. https://nigerianwiki.xyz/nnamdi-azikiwes-secession-speech-of-1953/ Ojukwu wanted an independent nation all for oil. The secession act was a bargaining chip that failed. Gowon called his bluff, rescinded on their accord in Aburi and Ojukwu declared Biafra. It was only natural that a sovereign Nigeria will fight to keep her territory together. When food supplies were cut in Port Harcourt, Ojukwu was handicapped at that moment but he never stopped fighting. Stashed foods were moved into his residence to first take care of his family and then his generals. Hunger crept in and first it was water, then lack of protein. To live, starving Igbos fed on burnt corpses as meats, a horrible but natural survival instinct. When help arrived via Médecins sans Frontières, it wasn't for long as Ojukwu wanted to use their planes for transport of ammunitions. For choosing to remain neutral, Ojukwu rejected further help for his people and asked BBC journalists (now late, can't recall their names) to report the situation of his people, with the intent that he'd get free foreign hand to assist in the war. Note that Ojukwu started the war with allied countries just as Nigeria and a handful of foreign veteran war mercenaries who left after they no longer got paid. Eventually, he lost the war as it was obvious it wasn't about protecting his people and territory but also wanting to seize Lagos. His soldiers were greatly defeated and repelled at Ore. A man who never took counsels realized he had failed, took his two kids and fled to Abidjan, leaving his second in command to surrender. How then is the North responsible for the war? |
Beverlyjean:The North didn't start the war. |
Shawnnn01:The coup was no doubt one sided and executed with an agenda. Ojukwu's hands are not in any way clean, particularly for stashing food away for his family and generals and for unnecessarily stretching the war when he should have surrendered, resulting to massive famine and cannibalism but it shouldn't be hard respecting the dead. Sheath ya sword. |
Thegoodone13:Atiku is seen as an outsider in the North. His lineage has been questioned time and time again and more so, recently. Atiku against a Tinubu is dangerous all thanks to their reputation but nowhere in hell will Atiku defeat Tinubu. |
Ashabbiiee:Not at all. The only candidate that can best Tinubu in Nigeria today is none other than Buhari, and that is because of the Northern factor. Atiku...? Well, that's one story for another moment in time. |
CallMeDrino:They are the same. What determines your CPC is the quality of your traffic clicks on ads. That you made 30 pounds isn't because of the AdSense geo-type but the kind of visitors you had. |
Her name is Katie. Not surprised as she is white. The she lives in a society where HIV is seen as a virus, not different from other viral infections, in a society where they don't say 'God punished or rewarded' for premarital and most importantly in a sane society where living with the virus doesn't make you a lesser human. Strangely, Katie would marry, live her life more than most normal humans would, give birth and die at old age. If only we had this mindset, people living with the virus among us won't either be on a 'revenge mission' or live like outcasts, all thanks to stigmatization. |
Donald95:It seems one small girl messed your heart so bad that you can't see the humour in this. |
chachanga:Deep stuff! But then, this is Nigeria. And as much as the petty war of the sexes rage on the forum daily, the society has successfully bent almost every lady to think or believe they are incomplete without a man or kids. The testaments on this very thread, Linda Ikeji, a trip to the diary section of this forum, etc, all back this claim. Most men out there today are errors. It is quite difficult for ladies to see a guy whose thoughts and ideas are greatly treated towards a meaningful relationship, marriage and family. The odds that she'd end up with a wrong man is quite high. If having a child out wedlock will give her peace and pressure her less, then if suggest she goes for it. I'd like to believe she's okay, to a reasonable extent, which for me is good enough. Whether or not the child's father is very much around isn't the issue, if I'm asked. We have a fair amount of homes with both the father and mother and kids and the man is as useless and unsupportive as anything. That in itself is much more difficult than Uriel's idea. She owes a future babies a good life and if she can do that without a trouble in the guise of a man who'd come destabilize her life and leave her in the cold later, then she should by all means proceed. |
We have a problem in this country and it is unfortunate that they youths are the problem. The average Nigerian youth is only interested in talking but not communicating! Like I don't really understand... Uriel shared a concern via a video. The video is very touching and quite emotional. I expected someone to talk about her concerns along with the counsel she sought but typical Nigerian youths are busy going off point. Getting old isn't a crime and whether or not one is 30 doesn't imply you won't find happiness or get a man. HER MUM IS DYING SLOWLY AND SHE FEELS TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. LEFT TO HER, SHE'D WAIT BUT SHE FEARS HER MUM WON'T SHARE ANY CONNECTION WITH HER KID AS THE DISEASE (DEMENTIA) WOULD HAVE EATEN DEEP IF SHE DECIDES TO GO THE WAY OF LOVE BEFORE BIRTHING. Lobatan o and everyone is saying something different. Na wa o! |
OGHENAOGIE:The average Buharist is as dumb as donkey? This is about a citizen's right to protest and not about allocations. No go back to the post and come back to apologize ![]() |
When are we going to start seeing this type of resignation in our darling Africa? Nigeria and Africa as a whole would have developed drastically assuming all our bad past leaders listen to the voice of the people. Some ruled for many decades and some democratically elected presidents will even fight to have a way to change the constitution so that they can serve for a 3rd term (greedy criminals)! Africa our Africa! Voice of the people. Voice of God!
It would make sense to use Buhari and Sowore as case study rather than African leaders who have been in power for donkey years. |
ZombieTERROR:This is the reason why you guys will NEVER compete in Nigeria. If you are weak-willed to FIGHT for power, don't expect smarter people to DROP power on your laps. WORK FOR IT! |
