Hhmmm!!!!! 5N-BED had to rest someday after "a life well spent" with ADC as able and willing undertakers. Enjoy, nothing spoil o. But una don do serious research because ADC had removed their identity from the plane so as to avoid this kind wahala. World people!!!!! |
how old were you? |
thats a McDonnel Douglas DC 6 of BOAC = British Overseas Airways Corporation higher up there is the VC-10, British, while the DC6 is American |
May you continue to Enjoyment1 |
Lets not waste tears on Okada and other historical names. We should be welcoming the likes of Arik Airlines with their up to date fleet of B737-700-800 series and competing with the Cathay Pacifics of the airline world. Arik Airlines Airbus 340-500 is the newest machine operating on the international scene beating Virgin Atlantic and others hands down. Their aircraft maintenance is being carried out by Lufthansa Technics. Flight Operations control is state of the art. Im not canvassing here. |
The Boeings seen in the pictures and belonging to SpaceWorld, NICON airways, FRESH Air, BELLVIEW are lying in the "graveyard" because they are the B737-200 series, are well over the stipulated retiring age of 22 years and nobody wants to buy them because of the huge amount their sringent checks would entail and cost the prospective buyer coming from even where their usage is still allowed. The most feasible solution is to "cannibalize" them i.e cutting them up, taking the fuselage to aluminium smelting plants and moulding the retrieved metal into cooking pots and what have you in the aluminium industry. The metal is used in the making of aircraft body because of its resistance to rust and its light weight. |
Ear trouble during flight is made worse by poor cabin pressurisation control and the quiet landing on the F-28 aircraft is due to the absence of reversers which constitute the noise heard on some other planes. The purpose of reversers is to assist deceleration of the plane during landing roll by reversing the engine push. F-28 deceleration is solely by application of the brakes and wing spoilers. |
Nice pics and good job. Airlines all over the world come and go. Yet others stand the test of time. It is easily one of those high risk investments. |
I always knew Lawyer wont be away for long. He actually enjoys the role he is playing here. |
@africhika blast me, you were proven right. and i had been consuming catfish peppersoup with reckless abandon, thinking fishes are generally low in fats (cholesterol) when compared to beef and the likes of animal produce. But wait a minute!! there may be that chance that American catfish outscore their Nigerian mates in their level of cholesterol, dont you think? Did you add mercury? I always had my suspicions that those things had nothing to offer, then this, poison. |
@africhika, seriously now, that sounds like your personal and biased opinion I will appreciate the real facts and source if you will. Thanks. |
@ THE-AMAKA, did i clip your wings? not intended ooo |
@markt, TCAS stands for Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System and not Transport Collision Avoidance System. Proper air traffic control is essential in the airspace and the use of TCAS is just a back-up when that primary control suffers from inadequacy or flaws in its execution. Ordinarily it should only provide flight crew with the situational awareness of other aircraft in their proximity and as such, readiness to avert disaster just like in the case cited in your post. Hence the air traffic controller apparently gave wrong clearances to the airplanes which resulted in their conflict and TCAS came to the rescue just before disaster struck. Its hasty to rush into concluding that the other airplane didnt have an operative TCAS. The matter is being investigated by the relevant authority and we can only await their findings so that we all can learn a lesson from that and put things in place to avoid a re-occurence in future. |
Given the presidency job, Fash will be better than all his predecessors (put together) since Nigerian independence. |
If some enemy carpet- bombs Nigeria, we wont even know their identity talk less of retaliatiating. |
@Carlosen, im not about joining issues with you. Since you seem to be so clever what stops you from making a check on the nigerian airforce aircraft inventory which is all over the internet instead of your arrogant posturing here. |

I can point to others if you are interested in bursting this military propaganda. Could you then explain what the Nigerian flag and Nigerian Airforce number is doing on the Chinook? Simple: Its all about graphics!!!!!!!!!!! Take another look, closely this time. |

However, is it not to your knowledge that some of the military equipment shown are not Nigerian? Just as a chunk of Israel military hardware is American it doesn't stop it being for the Israeli Military You miss the point. None of the military equipment shown was manufactured in Nigeria and probably will never be, but some in the pictures are not even owned by Nigerian armed forces. For example is the Chinook helicopter (with twin propellers) depicted as belonging to Nigerian Airforce, whereas it has never featured in their aircraft fleet. I can point to others if you are interested in bursting this military propaganda. |

Avoid having "buyers regret". Do this: 1. Choose Japanese i.e, Toyota, Nissan, Honda. 2. Buy a fresh "tokunbo" thats not been driven on Nigerian roads. 3. Budget some 400-500k for good results. 4. Dont rush into buying, take your time. |
i never believed it was feasible so im unmoved |
Bearing in mind that most of the catfish consumed are from various fish farms where their feed could be just anything and the fact that the retailers keep them without much care, just a change once in a while of the water of the container where they are kept, i cant help but wonder whether there will be any nutrtients left in them as a source of protein. |
Pastor Bakare cuts accross like a religious pragmatist. He just earned himself a convert. |
Heard about that somewhere recently and that they can also remove your car number plate while you are parked somewhere and draw up with you later in another car when you have driven off unknowingly, then waving the plate at you so that you will come to a stop and they can get at you in a neighborhood that suits their nefarious purpose. |
I have a temper that has been of benefit to me at times while the opposite applied at other times in the ratio of 30--70% and in that order. I believe we can work on it since we know the negativity it brings along with it. |
I will always advise anybody to buy a new car because they give no trouble for years if serviced as scheduled by the manufacturer. KIA cars are much improved and are coming ever closer to the Japanese cars technologically. Used cars carry that risk that you dont have to worry about when buying new with warranty. If you have enough money for a new car, please dont hesitate. New is cool. |
@poster' people who cannot create should not destroy what others have created and being enjoyed by not a few. |
