U right meant Chief pilot is the Chief Technical Officer.

 
Chief Pilot is not exactly the Chief Technical Officer, but his functions, duties and responsibilities
are flight crew related particularly in flight operations concerning the airline pilots. His only contact
with tax is what he pays from his salary.
