Family › Re: My Sister Is Being Beaten By Her Husband. How Can I Help Her? by SavageResponse(m): 3:09pm On Apr 12, 2021
GODmyHOW:
My younger sister got married December 2019. Before the marriage I advice her not to marry the man due to his background. The same advice was given to her by our mum. She so much believe that God would change him when they get married. Since they got married, the husband has turned her into a punching bag. I cannot say I warned her and then foiled my hands. He might kill her. What should I do? I need your advice on this please.
You sister is very foolish, how can she expect a grown man to suddenly just change habits that are already a part of him?

The family members tried to collect some of her properties, In fact they have succeeded in collecting some before madam wise up and got married to Oga personal lawyer. That seems to be a wise choice.
That's probably what saved her from being thrown out in the street by her late husband's family

Ibadanboyy:
Thanks for the info, I really appreciate... I just want to know if I can still get it cos I read somewhere that I might have been forfeited since it has remained unclaimed for more than 7 years.
Please disregard that information...

I also had outstanding dividends which I had not collected for about 5 years but last year December I went to my registrars, First Registrars at 2 Abebe Street, Iganmu to make a claim by filling the E-dividend claims form.

All the outstanding dividends for shares i have in companies being managed by First Registrars were paid to me in about 3 weeks, about 200K, that was what I used to buy suya during the Christmas holidays. grin

Don't let anyone fool you, go and collect your money.

Just make sure you go with a valid government ID card and a passport photo; you can complete the process in less than 1 hour except if you go there late and there is already a large crowd.

I have not done business with EDC Registrars before but I'm sure the process should be the same as for First Registrars.

Unfortunately, it's not sustainable on the long-run. That money could be put to better use if it isn't going to be mismanaged
I know it's really not sustainable but I really don't care cos I know of subsidy is removed it will only provide more money for our politicians to steal and the intended benefit would never be achieved!

Any help to get this sorted will be appreciated.
You don't need to contact anyone to do this for you.

Just go to the registrars for Dangote Flour:

EDC Registrars (Formerly Oceanic Registrars)
154 Ikorodu Road, Lagos

They will give you a form to fill with all your details including a passport photo; you should get all your outstanding dividends within 3 weeks

Have u been there before bro?
I'm not a forex trader and have no experience in it.

The only thing I know about forex trading is based on the research I have done and information I have suggests that only a very small percentage of forex traders are actually profitable...the rest who are in the majority are busy chasing referral bonus, training fees, third party account management etc.

It's mostly the failed ones that open threads on Nairaland trying to deceive people with the 'Audio money' they're making from forex trading eg Leonardemma1 etc

Properties › Re: Osborne Foreshore Resident Association (OSFRA) Beat Up Lekki Gardens Contractors by SavageResponse(m): 5:12pm On Apr 10, 2021
Melaninprincess:
The baseless and desperate vendetta of the Osbourne Foreshore residents’ association was taken to a new dimension yesterday when they resorted to violence by beating up the contractors and staff of the developer.

This is coming up barely a week after the stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Ministry of Planning and Urban development where stakeholders were advised to engage and resolve all issues.

The developer had mobilized her contractors to some of its sites following approvals recently received from the state government only for the contractors to be prevented from gaining entrance into the estate by OSFRA. They were only allowed in following the intervention of the authorities to which the developer appealed in her bid to maintain the peace.

Feeling thwarted in their plans to frustrate the developer by constituting a major nuisance at the gate of the estate thereby disturbing free flow of movement into the estate, the association led by the chairman Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa mobilized touts and stormed the site of the company where they resorted to rough handling and beating up everyone they saw on site, insisting the contractors must leave the site.
It has become very clear that the association will stop at nothing including ignoring constituted authorities and resorting to self help to get their way, even if it means constituting themselves into a nuisance to disturb the peace, standing in the way of progress and development or preventing legitimate business owners from accessing their investments all for the achievement of their personal agenda at the detriment of the common good of Lagosians.
You need to give us the background story for this incident

90% Forex brokers do not trade but they want you to.

Forex will not make you rich.

No matter how u master the art of Fx trading, you must blow up your account at least once.

The best forex teachers are not the best forex traders. Dont be surprised that those who tutor you on Fx trade do not have any Fx trading account in their name.

There is always a bigger margin for losses than gain in Fx.

Forex brokers earn when u loose or gain while trading...

Forex brokers volunteers to teach you how to trade for free without a fee, but their reward is having you sign up with them and invest, every time you take a trade position they take a percentage of it through spreads.

Those who makes average success trading forex is less than 30% and these set of people are the ones who makes Fx their main source of income and not a side hustle.
I don't agree with the bolded part, I think the percentage of those who can be said to be successful and profitable forex traders is even less than 10%!
Investment › Re: Who Owns The Nigerian Stock Exchange? by SavageResponse(m): 4:56pm On Apr 10, 2021
AdvisorOpe:
Not many know the right answer.

In March, you probably heard about the demutualization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and how its name changed. It's okay to be lost about what all these mean, many are. So, we thought to help with an explainer.

Like many other exchanges across the world, the exchange is privately owned. If this is new to you, there are many like you.

A stock exchange is a marketplace where shares of various companies are bought and sold.

At inception, the exchange was set up as a mutual company [not mutual funds]. That is, a company owned by customers.

This mutual structure comes with a number of limits. Stears Business highlighted them as:

1. Low trading volumes
2. Weak stance against the competition

In essence, the demutualization process was about reworking this mutual structure. Today, the Nigerian Stock Exchange is now known as the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and operates as a public company.

To retain control in NGX, the Nigerian Stock Exchange was restructured into a holding company: the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group).

A holding company is one that is created to buy and own shares of other companies.

Bro I have a very good offer for u. With this cash u can make 5m or more in less than 10 months, the platform I will link u up it is so amazing. U can check my profile I have never scammed anyone. Or better still if u are in Abuja we can meet 1 & on. I don't mind signing an agreement to show u is not a child's play. Check my posts for my contact on WhatsApp.
Piss off!

If it's actually possible to turn 300K into 5 million in 10 months you will sell all your property to raise the money instead of coming here to ask this guy to invest the 300K (Which he's not even sure of getting) with you.

You're asking him to come and sign an agreement as if it's a guarantee he wont loose his money. I got news for you - Signed agreements such as this are useless in Nigeria and do not guarantee anything!
