zoboizee: have seen all of them play before. only chucks aneke in midfield can match top nigerian standard/ quality. he is very intelligent and presently plays in belgium, the rest- i mean solanke, semi and ola are very dispensable. semi is no match for wilfred ndidi, ola is left footed LB but presently plays RB, is no match for musa mohammed, mustapha or okon or omego. And solanke is no match for the likes of success, kelechi or alhassan. i have seen them all. typical english players! we are talking about boys, you dey talk of men. atleast we know solanke and co use their real ages not men claiming to be boys that will burn out before they turn '28'. |

dabossman: You're right. I think another way to get past this problem is to work on the psychology of our players from a young age. The average Nigerian player's highest life goal is to play abroad (anywhere will do; Europe, Asia, anywhere) and earn dollars, then hopefully play for the Super Eagles one day. Once they achieve that they've hit the glass ceiling. I think they need to look beyond that.
Our players need to aspire not just to play abroad, but to play for the top clubs in Europe. It is okay to start out in Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Belgium and the likes, but don't be satisfied with that. Aspire for more. Even if you cannot be a Ronaldo or Messi at least be a George Weah, a Finidi, an Okocha. Be among the best. And this doesn't come by just depending on the skills and talent you brought from Africa. They need to apply themselves to development. Spend more time on the training pitch. Develop your technical abilities. Free-kicks, corners, on and off the ball movement, positioning that kind of stuff. You hardly see any form of that development these days. The same Musa, Ambrose, Echiejele, Nsofor and the likes that we saw at youth level is what we still have till today. No marked improvement.
We need to pay more attention to youth development. All these "we have talents all over the streets of Nigeria" crap will take us no where. You don't develop world class talent by playing monkey post. Street soccer is high on display of skills and low on technicality. While 8-13 year old in Europe are learning technique, our own kids are playing by natural instinct. The same Musa, Ambrose, Echiejele, Nsofor and the likes that we saw at youth level were atleast their mid 20s.. how they go develop. i had the opportunity to watch some airtel future stars games and i saw really "small" boys. none of them made it to the u 17 team, instead we have clean shaven young looking men posing as boys. The national coaches are to blame too, i remember some times last year where an American born player came to the u 17 squad and they said he failed his MRI test?! It was insulting.. just because his mum did not part with dollars. is it not the same way we lost Adebayor. We are all part of the problem |

italo: You are just making up conjectures and assumptions for me.
I only asked two simple questions which no atheist can even attempt so far. Rather you choose to rant and evade and
Why is murder immoral?
Who defines it so?
Concerning the bold, is it the individual or the society that defines what is moral?
If it is the individual, then Hitler's actions were not immoral.
If it is the society, then ISIS' actions or Belgium killing children is not immoral.
Agreed? To the German society at the time of hitler his actions were not immoral, so is ISIS actions against children. For them, these actions are morally justifiable. |

TheBigUrban2: You are quite dull.
"More likely" is the important phrase here.
Let me teach you basic maths and grammar.
A study of cows and intelligence -there are 2,000 cows in Nigeria -only 1,500 are smart -out of the smart cows, 900 are brown and 600 are white
Following the above study of cows, I can say that intelligent cows are more likely to be brown. THAT DOESNT MEAN THAT ONLY 900 COWS OR A ONLY MINORITY OF COWS ARE INTELLIGENT =============================================
Parallel to the cow analogy, just because intelligent people are more likely to be atheists it doesnt mean that only atheists are the intelligent people or that there are no intelligent christians.
So the 1% of atheists is no determinant of the total percentage of the intelligent people in nigeria Oh boy.. See schooling.. Even I was being taught.. |

onetrack: 1. Evolution and big bang theory are not mutually exclusive. I believe that the existing evidence points toward both the big bang and evolution being true.
2. I don't 'trust' science; I'm a skeptic. Scientific facts and theories can change as new evidence disproves previously accepted information. However I trust the scientific method as being the most accurate way of discerning the truth.
3. Art, music, and religion are all deliberate man-made inventions. Language is innate and a critical tool which evolved to enable humans to work together to survive.
4. No.
5. I don't follow superstitious rituals and I don't give my money to money-grubbing pastors or mallams. I don't worry about some fiery afterlife punishment from some angry, immature, selfish god.
6. The null hypothesis for me is that there is no god actively involved in human affairs. In order for me to accept that my hypothesis is wrong I need scientifically acceptable proof.
7. It is not for me to prove that a god (or gods) does not exist because I cannot prove it. I make no claims about any gods or the lack thereof and so it's for believers to prove that their gods do exist.
8. It's not important for me that everyone should become atheist. It would be enough for me if religion became strictly a personal, non-political affair for each person to follow privately. Something Jesus said about hypocrites who want to be seen praying on the street corner I quite agree with. Oh, and stay out of trying to interject religious mumbo-jumbo into science. Spot on.. Love it... Can I follow you? |

KenGali: You have only read a part of my post, suggest you read the earlier ones from which they arose.
To cut you short, the evidence is the fact that till today, we have not seen any evidence of a natural process that independently designs consciously and randomly to create intelligent design. Not even evolution, as it requires an initialisation and seeding, not to talk of the algorithmic guiding the use and disuse or survival ( which are all optimisation processes).
Both you and the rat you talk of, are too complex to be created by chance, hence are evidences of the work of a conscious and purposeful being. In all our human intelligence and capability, even we are yet to design biological machine, talkless of randomized chance. Further evidence is that in unregulated form, the world we live in is very volatile, from the Universe or multi-verse, to the sun and asteroids and stars, to our moon and our planet. The probability of the stability we enjoy today in our world is near impossible to be ascribed to chance. Dude.. Humans have started cloning living things, and have you heard of stem cell technology. In time I believe biological machines will also be developed (if they haven't started already) |

KenGali: You are really so used to desperately trying to debunk specific religious beliefs that you cannot do without a specific God.
If Atheism is true, then you do not need the name of a specific God to debunk the God Gap as you call it. The God Gap, leaving out any details of the specific God, whether he is a life form from another planet, a whole population of them, male, female, divine or not, or whatever, totally renders your core belief in the lack of existence of a deity baseless and actually stupid.
Like I told you before, if you woke up in a desert and saw a white washed building, with no one around the first realisation is not the name of the person who built it, but the fact that someone did build it. Hence, you can not blankly say you are the first person at the location. Which is what you atheist are trying to do all the time. Albeit with the most faulty logic I ever heard of.
The fact that you or I cannot bring a physical proof of the name of God if not by faith, does not in any way debunk his existence, there are plenty physical evidences of his works. And what are these evidences? And pls don't insult my intelligence that it includes my waking up everyday, rats wake up every morning and I don't see them praying to god. And you guys really make funny, near impossible examples to illustrate ur arguments.. What's with the whole waking up in a desert and finding building (whether whitewashed or plastered with a new paint job). We are using logical points here to discuss and you come up with funny stories. Well, am not surprised.. If you can believe in god then its only fair you buttress ur ideas with far-fetched examples. |

emmerks: Pretense will do you no good. In the words of Augustine of Hippo, one of the essence of human existence is to have happines in our everyday life. If u decide to pretend, u could be made happy but u will never be happy within.
However, according to Paschal Blaise, in his work about the existence of God, he noted that; if we say God doesn't exist, and decide not to do good or believe in, and at d end we discover He exist, we will be at a lose.
Nonetheless, 'if we say God exit and decide to do good and believe in Him, we have nothing to lose at the end if we really later discover He exist.
The truth is nobody has ever been able to Logically proof that God exist, and nobody has also been able to Logically and conclusively proof He doesn't exist.
Science itself hasn't been able to prove He doesn't exist. All it has been able to deduce is that 'there's a higher being that control nature and the course of things'. Who tells the Sun and moon how to shift duty?
From the above, it is important for u to realize that there's a higher being.
In conclusion, it is not possible for u to deny the existence of something that does not exist. In the latin phrase "Cogito ergo sum" summarizes all that has been said above. Some people are really ignorant to the lowest level, the sun shift everyday?!!! Even a kindergarten kid knows the earth revolves round the sun.. Get out of ur religious delusions before its too late.. Wait a minute, from ur statements its already too late |

Black Human: The way i see it; The fact that there are living and non-living things prove to me that God exists-, the only difference between a human being and a piece of furniture is that the human being has a spirit/ soul i.e the human is conscious of his/her environment and existence but but the furniture is not. Therefore the furniture exists only physically but has no soul so it is oblivious to even it's own existence.-WHY?, because the furniture lacks the prescence of a soul to occupy it's physical body....therefore somtin must have caused this difference between the living human and dis piece of future. What could be responsible for this difference if not that someone/being has sort of provided the living body with a soul/spirit to occupy it ....THAT BEING DAT PROVIDED THAT SPIRIT IS GOD....if u take away the soul from the body, the body becomes a corpse(i.e non-living) just like the furniture. but where did the spirit go?- where else could it have gone if not to the one who made it. "ONLY LIFE CAN GIVE BIRTH TO LIFE" And other living things don't have spirits too? Since they are alive they too should have the 'spirit of god' in them.. |

Gates: In terms of doing things I take a fairly scientific approach to why things happen and how they happen. I don't know if there's a god or not, but I think religious principles are quite valid.
