ezeaguisforever: So Port Harcourt, Sapele, Warri and Calabar are in sheltered estuaries and islands? Second question, you believe Port Harcourt can be legally blocked from the sea, no matter what country it's in? Yeah. The Onne port is in a sheltered estuary. Sapele also on the estuary of the Benin river... Warri, Calabar (Escravos and Cross river estuaries) I don''t believe this will be a matter of "Blocking" one country from trading or not, as every sovereign country has 100% Jurisdiction over every waterway and land within its territory. If you want a merchant ship passing through another territory, well, you better be ready to seek the necessary permissions. Moldova is a landlocked country, even though it has points extremely close to the black sea of less than 100 meters at some points. Wanna see what was in the way? A stupid obstruction of a tiny piece of Ukrainian territory. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/660/23486676082_35ce752ded_b.jpg

AfricanFinest: That's not the definition of landlocked. May be you should call that waterlocked too, I think it will make a lot of sense. That's why I told you that you should let that definition of yours guide you... As anything you add or remove when making assertions will alter the definition of a landlocked state. Which you have just did. There is nothing like waterlocked. Countries like Malawi and Swaziland have entire lakes and Waters within their territory which drains into the sea eventually. That does not make them any less landlocked. |

ezeaguisforever: Okay, so with Nigerias coastline, can you please name a port that's directly on Nigerias coastline? All Nigeria's ports are located either in sheltered estuaries or on Barrier islands, These locations are called "Natural Harbors" in Geography- and are the best locations for seaports. But the point is that they are all surrounded by Nigerian territory, no matter how short the distance is to open oceans. |
Politics › Re: Igboland Is Not Landlocked by scholes0(m): 11:35pm On Dec 07, 2015 |
AfricanFinest: The definition should now guide your utterances...
You can now go back to your pics and count the locations where the waterways of the sea touched Igbo lands and the one that transverses through Igbo land.
You can tell me how many locations you counted. And if any, what it means. Are you smart at all? No part of Igboland has direct Ocean access. It is entirely surrounded by other parts of Nigeria Be it Land or Water. |

tarano: Yoruba say Ekaro...Ana-ife say Ekuoni Very good. I am curious about something. According to the Slave trade records, there is a group in the Benin Togo-Area that contributed a lot of slaves into the Atlantic slave trade into the Americas. This group has been variously spelled as Chamba or Tchamba. There is a Chamba in Taraba state of Nigeria and Cameroon, However we know this chamba is not the one being referred to in the slave trade records, because these particular Chamba were 'exporte' to the new world through the Bight of Benin. The only other Tchamba is in Togo, near Bassila and the Manigris & Kamboles. I suspect these unknown chamba tribe in the slave records are Yorubas of Togo. Can you tell us what you know about the Chambas/Tchamba area? I am asking this because The proportion of Yoruba slaves sold to the Americas might have been grossly underestimated because everyone is busy limiting Yoruba to Nigeria. |

ezeaguisforever: Name a Nigerian port that's directly on the sea. Igboland is landlocked, not on the premise of it having or not having navigable rivers, but rather because it is completely surrounded by Nigerian land and waterways. |
Politics › Re: Igboland Is Not Landlocked by scholes0(m): 11:11pm On Dec 07, 2015 |
AfricanFinest: Go and study what landlock means...
Look at waterways that went into Igbo land that can be dredged to navigate big ships and docking ships... Igbo land can have as many ports as possible as there are strategic places the waterways from the sea touched Igbo land.
Meanwhile will you also say Biafra is landlocked too.? Landlocked: DefinitionA landlocked state or country is a sovereign state entirely enclosed by land, or whose only coastlines lie on closed seas. Describes igboland perfectly. No part of Igboland connects directly with the sea. |

Tequilah: I don't know the answer to question 1, but I know the answer to question 2. Port-harcourt has direct access to the ocean. A sea port was built there, years ago. The port is at Onne , which is Okrika & Eleme land, not Port harcourt. |

tarano: History of Ana-Ife People in Togo
FACTBOX: A Brief History of Odon Itsu party History remembers that Ifè who left the locality Ilé of Ife (Nigeria), through Kétou (in Benin) and Tchéti Atakpamé arrived in 1700, a mountainous site sure that protected against possible pursuers. Arriving in Atakpame, the Ife have brought with them, planted a root which fed them by producing many tubers. It is in recognition to their deities would have donated this root, and that Ifè other allied communities, celebrate Odon Itsu meaning in Ife language: "yam festival." On this occasion, the tradition is that the beginnings of yam are first offered to the deities before consumption, to thank them for having promoted abundant crops, and benefit from their protection and their blessings on the families and the next planting season. Beyond this traditional look, the celebration of Odon Itsu is an opportunity to return to the fold of all son of Grand Ogou, today marks not only a trait union but a unifying element in many communities E ku Odun Isu (Odon Itsu) ooo, Happy New Yam festival ..... Oduduwa a gbe yin. Please we need you around here more, to tell us about the Anago (Yoruba) communities of Togo. Merci Beaucoup. |

Lagos has had only the following yoruba governors - Jakande, Tinubu and Fashola
What did they contribute to Lagos? Liar Liar, pants on Fire Akinwunmi Ambode: 2015- Babatunde Fashola: 2007-2015 Bola Tinubu: 1999-2007 Raji Rasaki: 1988-1991 Gbolahan Mudashiru: 1984-1986 Lateef Kayode Jakande: 1979-1983 Adekunle Lawal: 1975-1977 Mobolaji Johnson: 1967-1975 Mike Akhigbe 1986-1988 (I consider Etsakos one of our own) And are you seriously asking e what Tinubu, Jakande and Fashola have done for lagos? Your kinsmen are still in Lag till date fighting for residential spaces in Jakande estate and and a host of others. When Eko Atlantic , Lekki Airport, Lekki FTZ, Badagry Seaport, Lekki Seaport, the Lagos rail system are complete, then you will know the real contributions of Fashola and Tinubu. |

Where is the seaport located? Where is the airport located? Where is the stock exchange and the headquaters of all financial services firms located? Airport is in Ikeja, formerly Western region Seaports are on Tin Can and Apapa, port of original Lagos Colony A lot of offices are on VI/Lekki/Ikoyi. VI and Ikoyi are part of the lagos colony, most of Lekki is new. Exchange and Offices are ADMINISTRATIVE.... production does not take place in them, but rather collation. So, you could only mention Seaport, Airport and Stock exchange? lol |

Please can you tell me where the economic strength of Lagos is situated? No you are slow. and the strength of Lagos is in it's Industrial estates and hinterland periphery. Those areas you listed are mostly Offices and residences. I can tell you that there aren't nearly as much Banks, Hotels, Companies etc in these areas, compared to the inland bulk of Lagos Metropolis. |

By the way, if we shall follow the trend in the public school model, the private school could not sway the trend. Just browse the data. from their website. onenaira3: One I thing I hate about you...you present FALSE fact, claim it as a source of groups that never said wtf you presented. That's the most descipical thing about you. It is similar to how you provided "FACTS" of ondo labeled the 4th largest oil producing state of Nigeria yet a quick analyzes of the site you copied it from showed Ironically enough the site was made 2years ago which ironically the same year when the argument of "ondo begin the 4th largest began."
Anyway, This is a statement STRAIGHT FROM NBS website
http://www.nigerianstat.gov.ng/information/details/Anambra
Thus provide us the so called NBS report you quoted that contradicts NBS statement on their own website. We are all curious to see it This is the NBS website. Go and learn to browse their data portal Abeg. And Anambra does not have the least poverty in Nigeria Abeg. The NBS just proved otherwise, the UN-Oxford data on Multi dimensional poverty also says otherwise. That was the same way you guyz were saying the SE produces half of Nigeria's crude oil, until data from the Oil companies showed that all of SE does not even produce as much as Ondo.

How many airports and seaports did any state governor create in Lagos. I am telling you that the only areas that enjoyed these privileges you keep talking about is The administrative quarters of VI, Ikoyi, Lagos Island and a small part of the mainland. 80% of Lagosians live outside these Zones. Until the creation of Lagos State in 1967, which led to the splitting of Lagos city into the present day seven Local Government Areas(LGAs), and an addition of other towns (which now make up 13 LGAs) from the then Western Region, to form the state. |

Duru1: Few of the statistics you posted to support your arguments are hilarious. For example, Ogun State enrolled more students than Anambra but produces less school leavers than Ananmbra State. If Anambra State is in close proximity with Lagos State as does Ogun State, it will amount to insult to compare Anambra State with any other state but Lagos. That is just the enrollment in Public secondary schools, not all school enrollments, Genius! |
