O su mi.I swear we're the one killing the South-west ourselves.Eeeeverything is about Lagos.I heard the reason why Dangote didn't site it there is because the host communities weren't co-operating.They were demanding for too much.I don't even know what's going on regarding OKLNG.
What were they demanding?
Was it not the same demand situations by Lekki communities that Killed the director of the Lekki FTZ a few months ago? Did u see the news?

The leaders of Okunraiye community, one of the host communities of the Lekki Free Trade Zone in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, have attributed the death of Tajudeen Disu to a stray bullet fired by the police.
Are these people not sensitized on the potential benefits or what?

Gbam!! cheesy I have said it before over and over, if Nigerians do not exploit the potentials of their waterways, they would lose out on a huge source of revenue and an efficient way to ease transportation for the masses.

Someone once told me that from Lagos to Ondo State via the waterways is just a journey of 2 and half hours. I don't know if his estimates are accurate. Why can't an interstate ferry service be developed?? It would beat having to stay choked up in Lagos-Ibadan expressway traffic, just because I want to get to Ondo by road. sad

Ever since I can remember, the bitumen in Ondo state has been a subject on the pages of newspapers. What has been done to actively market and exploit this resource? Very little. It is just so sad. undecided

Dangote's refinery should not be the only one in the South-West. It was reported recently that Buhari has issued licenses to 65 private investors to set up modular refineries. What has Ondo State government done to actively get some of them to site those refineries in Ilaje area?? Lagos State has a Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources charged with actively seeking investment opportunities that would enable the state tap into the oil & gas sector. What is Ondo State with its potential oil wells doing?? shocked shocked
It is true.
The Lekki Lagoon links through Ijebu waterside into Southern Ondod. A speed boat will probably cover the distance in no time.
But they would rather get stuck in Ibafo-Mowe or Ibadan innercity because they want to visit Akure or Ado.
Useless country.

This is Yorubaland and surrounding area of allied groups, the most urbanised country in Sub Saharan Africa. Notice that most of our big cities are inland in the tropical forest, with a few in the Savannah like Ilorin, Saki, Kishi, Fiditi Etc ...
The coastal area has just lagos, and the Ijebu Cities as only noticeable settlements of note. The Ilaje area does not even any major have motorable roads linking into it , in an area with massive potential. Why can't the Olokola FTZ be developed? This will bring settlement and development into the area and we would be spoilt with choices.
Western Oyo is also scanty with lots of free land. Why cant people like Adenuga and the rest of them build an industrial park there or something?

These are projects that can easily make Ondo state the most prosperous state in Nigeria

Laudate how do you enclose your post?
SouthWest leaders are stupid and visionless.
There was an OK free trade zone that was supposed to be cited in the Olokola area of Ondo/Ogun states. The present Dangote refinery under construction around the Lekki axis was supposed to have been cited there.
Instead of them to have put enough pressure on the guy and the other involved chinese investors to ensure that the Olokola area is developed, they allowed them to move it to Lagos state, when we know very well that Lagos is already teeming with enough commerce and industry.
Why must we put all our eggs in one basket, what kind of visionless leadership is that?

We need another developed coastal city in Yorubaland. Southern Ondo state in the Ilaje Axis would be my location of choice, or somewhere in Ijebuland.

For quit some time now have been meaning to creat a thread about the lack of development in the entire OKUN KINGDOM . I understand the OKUN people are wonderful people and hard working people but still held back by lack of meaningful infrastructures .SONS AND DAUGHTERS of great OKUN KINGDOM cut across various state of in the country this is the time for us to find a lasting solutions to this stagnation.
There is no Okun speaking tribe. Okun is not a Language.
However, there are groups of Yoruba speaking people, who speak dialects such as Bunu, Oworo, Kabba, Yagba - that choose to come together and call themselves the Okun people.

Shalom.

My favourite city in the north, followed by Kaduna.

These two cities are not your Typical Kano-Maiduguri-Bauchi-Katsina-Damaturu-Dutse kind of cities.

What I'm saying is that Akure left the Ekiti arrangement preferring independence. Whether they are culturally Ekiti or not, They remain Everly close to us but hold themselves distinct from Ekiti. .and this is not about Ondo state/Ekiti state. Ijesa are also culturally and dialectically identical to Ekiti
Btw There's no single "Ekiti" dialect, like you said there are variants but we understand ourselves perfectly well. in my home town we say "mee se" others say "mi ke se". "Ifaki tia" others may say "Ado ria"
That is why Ekiti say "Ekiti a ti parapo, okan la wa nse" we used to be different. If care is not taken Imesi will be said to be Ekiti. .maybe even Ilesa because Ilesa were also in Ekiti parapo
There is the confederation of Ekiti, Akoko, Ijesa and Okun, known as the Ekiti Parapo (The Military unit which came together to checkmate Ibadan expansionism)
Then, there is also the Ekiti CULTURAL group/subdivision of the Yoruba race who share dialect and culture. Ilesha belonged to the former, not the later, they are culturally ijesha just like Esa Oke, Ibokun, Erin Ijesha.
the mountainous Efon Alaaye region in Ekiti state is near the border of Ekiti sd Ijesha sub-groups. By the way which Imesi were you referrig to? Imesi Ile or Oke-Imesi ?

Italy is not exactly a very good country.
and they are having massive problems right now.

You better go do your masters man. At least when u are done, you can be sure to have conpleted something (a major step) in life.
Going to hustle in Italy, a backwater Southern European country that is right now on the edge and hostile to most things foreign (especially African) is a huge gamble with a lot of risk.

Igalas alone are approximately around 40% sha, but the entire Kogi East, maybe around 47% of the state like you said.
