Please recheck the online data again. Avalon can’t be 20mpg in the city. That is what a 4 cylinder sedan was meant to drive and you can’t even get that in Naija with our type of fuel.

What you need is Mobil1 5W-30 or any other good synthetic oil. Please don't ever listen to mechanics that will tell you to buy Mobil HXP or Visco 2000.. Please use Synthetic oil....

Your Mechanic is right but since you're using an oil that is not trustworthy in terms of quality, I'd advice you to change to Mobil once and for all. I'd recommend Mobil 1 but it's expensive. Bought it for 29k 2 days ago. Remember to also use the recommended oil for your car. You should find the recommended oil at the cap of your engine.

The OP has been using the 20w50 mineral oil since. I will advice if he’s changing to another brand he should go for Total quartz that’s the top grade mineral oil. All this forte and Mobil zhp are produced inside their shops.

OP the Agent is telling you the truth.... Lagos plate numbers are no longer uploaded on FRSC website anymore... Police are aware of this also... Several times I've been stopped here in PH and they verify my number plate without issue.

From codes I see, you’ve messed up your engine and transmission.

Now I’d be blunt with you; people like you will use a Mercedes or Infiniti then will go about advising others not to buy those cars that they’re bad. Whereas you have a terrible maintenance culture. Just imagine when you’re scanning your car, after doing those major jobs, that’s when you even remembered there’s a scanner?

I won’t pet this issue. If a 2005 Camry (with great engine and gear) can torment you like this, then I don’t know of any car that you’d be able to use. You have also been in Nairaland since 2013 and you don’t know of auto section?

Here comes my honest advise: change the entire engine and get a new transmission because I don’t know how far that kazeem has gone with your car.

Any engine can be rebuilt, no matter their engine compositions (aluminum+aluminum; aluminum+cast; or cast +cast ).
