Suarez as a twin strike combo with no clear objectives as against having god-Messi play along them upfront. Marcelo had a field day, as there was nobody to keep him quiet on the right flank. He was Madrid's most dangerous player on the night.

Messi playing through the middle also did not help matters. I thought Marcelo would have his hands full combating Messi, but he was free to do his things while Messi was facing serious tackles from Casemiro, Ramos and Pepe. Arda could not offer anything close to what Rakitic did which left the defence badly exposed.

The foul on Messi was not a penalty as it happened very close to the edge.
I don't think our defenders relaxed in the last 20 mins too. The removal of Rakitic piled more pressure on them. Rakitic was responsible for shutting down Modric in the middle. He never allowed his fellow countryman have any impact on the game while still supporting Alves on the flank to silent CR7. That allowed Busi to do his work well and gave balance to the midfield. He was already on a yellow card and the coach removed him for Arda. Arda was probably carried away by the awe of playing his 1st clasico as he was no where to be found. That gave room for Modric to stamp his authority and took control of the midfield. Iniesta too was already worn out which left Busi to be exposed against Madrid mid fielders which in return increased the pressure on our defence. Marcelo and CR7 were let lose on the flank while Modric and Kroos had their time through the middle. Zidane introduced a sharp Jesse and our defence couldn't handle the pressure. Hence, the collapse.

I have some friends on my contacts, they will only say hi when Barca lose a match. The last time I heard from them was the day we lost to Sevilla and guess what? Most of them are Arsenal fans

Success, they say always attracts many friends, but reverse is the case for Barcelona. Our successes over the years have earned us many enemies and haters all over. Where I saw the match, the whole place scattered immediately madrid equalised. I quickly made a mental note of the centre and discovered that all the guys hailing and Madrid were:
30% Chelsea fans, 47% Man U fans, 20% Arsenal fans, 1% Madrid fans and 2% follow follow. Funny enough, it's almost same on Nairaland.
And I concluded by imagining the havoc Barca have wrecked on these fans and their respective clubs over the years. It's not easy being the best club in the world with the best set of players they can always dream of.
We lost to Madrid and the rest of the world would pay dearly for it, because we are starting another unbeaten run that would run till next season. We are coming back stronger and better, we are Barca!

Give these guyz a break. They travelled thousands of kilometers to arrive in Barcelona on Thursday evening for this match. They only participated in only one training session. It's obvious they weren't properly rested and also the inevitable jet lag. I'm sure that against another opposition, Enrique would've benched at least two of them. We hope they physical conditions would've improved by tuesday against Atletico.

I have already blamed the lacklustre performance on fatigue bro. And, as a matter of fact, Suarez should improve on his goal scoring ability. It's increasingly disturbing how he misses the simplest of chances only to score a cracker to appease us. He messed up for missing a clear seater honestly.

Treble still on course, yes. But, we have to be careful. It's obvious fatigue is setting in and how we manage and respond to it really matters. Our boys seem to loose focus in the second half these days and it must be addressed. A shabby performance like this could be costly in the UCL where little details really matter.
The boys must come back stronger to keep the dream alive.

This is what you don't get - a player can be tightly marked and yet have a game-changing moment and make the headlines. I never said Messi didn't do all those things you listed but the fact remains on EVERY site CR7 will be rated above Messi and rightly so coz Suarez and Neymar couldn't make use of the balls he gave them. Which El Clàsico match is CR7 not marked tightly? He's marked tightly, yet he made intelligent runs, defended well too, hit the crossbar and even scored a goal. All these surpasses what Messi did coz Suarez and Neymar lay to waste all his efforts. Ronaldo came out tops over Messi in this match. If you wanna prove me wrong show me 2 CREDIBLE SITES that rated Messi over CR7. I'm waiting.

No site would rate Messi over CR7 in that match. I wouldn't even do either. Ronaldo grasped the headline for that beautiful goal. MSN flopped big time.

Kudos to Madrid for a well deserved win. Zidane and his boys approached the match with more determination, passion and idea than our team.
BBC won them the game while our MSN failed to impress. Suarez never did anything right all night save the sending off of Ramos, Neymar had a game to forget and Messi was silenced by the combined efforts of Madrid midfield and defence.
- Messi was denied a clear foul at the edge of the box.
- Ramos should have been sent off even before he was finally shown red.
- I still don't understand why Bale's goal was disallowed.
All in all, the loss should serve as a wake up call to the team, nothing is won yet and care must be taken to avoid any upset.
Busquest was my best player till Rakitic was removed. Alba, Masch and Pique also had a decent game
Zidane got his tactics right and must be praised for a job well done.

Oya they gave him and Vermaelen chance to play against Athletic Bilbao during Super cup, they both played woefully! Vermaelen redeemed himself by having a run of good games and even got MOTM in one game like that! But Batra still remained where he was!

Sergi Roberto started impressing right from pre-season, if not, na him and masip go always dey among the audience when other players are on the pitch or substitutes bench!

Just so you know... Mathieu is the fastest Barça player currently. Yeah, you got that right, fastest.

Alba has better acceleration, but Mathieu has better speed. And of course if you did physics you would know that ultimately speed is better. So, if you talk about a short distance run, then Alba would appear faster, but when it comes to long distance thingy, then Mathieu takes the baton.

As for Bartra, he is not fast. He may be a bit faster than Piqué, but not Mascherano. Aside Mathieu, our fastest CB is Mascherano.

So as far as our defence and team is concerned, Mathieu, Alba and Aleix Vidal are the fastest.
