If you apply for Masters program in Design, while having a degree in Industrial Chemistry, your chances of getting admission would be slim, but not impossible( especially if you have good portfolio). However it is safer to apply for a first degree again. Germans value specialization a lot, they do not seem to understand this switching of a thing, so most Masters Design courses would require a degree in Design or similar.
However with your good portfolio, you may find one or two schools willing to accept you, but they would likely be few.

Thank you my brother,I just feel it is too late to pursue first degree in design at 35years..would have love to do it.

Yes it is, since you have a good portfolio, you can also apply for internship while in school.
It is in demand in places like Berlin. You may have to learn German to an extent though depending on the requirements of the company.

Can i apply for internship while studying something else?or you mean i go for interior designer as a course.Do i have to go for first degree again?

You can search for design courses generally on daad.de. You check for Bachelor's in Design first, because you have a degree not related to Design, and so getting a masters program directly would be difficult, but you can still check for the requirements of various schools ( Masters and Bachelors) on daad.de.

I checked all required English proficiency test.

Yes it does. It depends on the job and whether or not you studied in Germany. My only work experience in Nigeria was NYSC and the rest na hustle. The kind of hustle you cannot put on CV.
For my current job, it didn’t matter because I studied in Germany and they only cared about my degree. But when I worked as a student assistant during my studies, my NYSC teaching experience, helped me get the job.

If you studied in Germany, you can get a job even without previous work experience. But it does help if you have work experience in Nigeria or anywhere else. Yes, the employers ask about it. German companies are mostly focused on your degree and knowledge of German language. International companies focus on your degree and previous work experience.

The answer to this is subjective. It was not important for some people when they got their job, and it helped some people when they got their job. But generally, it does help to have previous work experience and/or other professional certificates. People from other countries, usually have lots previous work experience listed on their CV. Especially people in IT and engineering.

I am an interior designer with good potfolio.
I have been executing project since 2015 and my company
is registered.I want to migrate to Germany via study pathway.
Kindly advice which course i can do for MSC.
NOTE:My first degree is Industrial chemistry but i hate chemistry
Therefore,i can not do anything related to chemistry.
Can i get something under construction or interior design?

One of the best skills you can learn is how to do hair. You will make a lot of money with this. The black barbers here are very terrible. There is also high demand for braids, dreadlocks and anything with female hair. My friends are always begging, looking for people to do their hair and they’re willing to pay anything. Especially the black Americans, they care so much about hair and hair products.

If you can make dreadlocks and twists, you go make money tire. Even me sef dey find someone to do my dreadlocks since 2 months now. The last guy that did my dreads charged me €120 on a friendly level. He charges the white people up to €300 and they pay without complaints.

Another skill is construction work. Anything that has to do with house construction, you will always have work. It is also not as hard as in Nigeria. There are better equipment and machines here to make the work easier. You’d just have to learn how to use them, but that is not a problem. Even if your German is bad, you will still have work in this sector.

Blogging and Vlogging is another great way. If you have something interesting to talk about, people will follow you like MTN (everywhere you go). Just don’t write things that would cause controversy, otherwise you will gather the wrong attention.

Music and Arts. If you’re a musician and you are talented, you can make some money. Just don’t expect to be famous. If you play musical instruments, you get lots of attention. Keyword is: be talented.

Modeling is one of the best ways to make money here. Photographers are always looking for models (male and female) for their projects. They can also get you jobs with big companies. You would also land an advertisement job with companies like H&M, Zara, Primark or Zalando (the company I work for). Just have the looks and body and be open to nude photos.

Videography, Photography and Graphic design are also great skills to have. There are a lot of graphic designers here, so you won’t be anything special. But videographers, especially editors and color graders, are in very high demand. Color graders are mostly wanted and well paid.
Photographers too can do well but there are a lot of photographers here, so you’d have to be outstanding.

If your own is Football, pls don’t waste your time. Just face your studies and graduate. Lots of dreamers here hoping to get into local and international leagues. Especially these Owerri and Anambra boys. That one is a Disney land dream.

If you are an Athlete (except football), and you’re very good, Germans will claim you easily. I know a Nigerian girl that was a good runner. She was granted German citizenship because of it. No questions asked. She also made a lot of money but she squandered it on drugs and lost her endorsements. Now she’s telling old stories.

Please expatiate on the construction work,as am an interior decorator and my passion is still within construction.I will like to go into construction in germany..But constructioon engineering is a long thing now considering my age.

You can't claim what you don't have. Since you don't have a landed property, a verifiable duly registered business with corporate affairs commission and good tax returns is adequate enough to demonstrate your personal financial establishment in Nigeria. Your immediate family (spouse and kids) are the strongest tie you can ever think of when applying for a Visa to Canada. So, emphasize on your family the most in your application.

It will end in praise.

Thank you so very much,God bless sir.

Me if I remember I use to smile and swear for her with my smile smiley
She's grace, fondly called Gracey, I met this werey when I was serving at Abuja 2014, But with the way we met seems like God wanted us together.

She works where I did my PPA, The first day we met I was working on some files and she was kinda asking her colleague who Steve is when she walked up to my desk, she called my name I looked up and she lost it like I could remember we both lost at each other for like 60 seconds before the lady sitting beside me called her name loud( that one don grab watin dey sup)

To cut the past lost story short.. we started talking we exchange contact and weeks later we started dating... Later she came over to the apartment whey I rented, I could tell her reaction she does not like the place (it single room thou )

Months later our relationship became so close that people started noticing in the office, exactly August they paidsalary and to my surprise, as we were going home together she gave me her August salary asked me to add some few bucks to it I should move out of the one-room apartment am staying saying she doesn't want me sharing toilet and bathroom...

Like I was wow. To be very honest that night I was so happy to the extent I had to cut all my spouse contact off and focus on only her... Like that night I vowed not to cheat on her ever...

So I finished my NYSC in Abuja and luckily my PDTF scholarship application was successful I was preparing to move over to Greece for my masters...

I and Gracey parted ways but we still dating, we call each other text each other... Months later I started sending money to grace for our building project, all the money I sent was around £125,500+ (54,233,804.62 nairas)

During this process, grace sends me pictures of the land she brought and how the construction is going on.....

To round up this painful crab cry only for me to come back home to meet my wife, married with a kid...

I arrested her and all she could say was "she thought I was just joking with her" that she never thought I still love her... Out of 54m, she could only recover 2.5m...

I was hospitalized for two weeks then... I sort I almost died the shock and trauma almost killed me... But thank God later I just have to return to Greece and start all over again... But what she did then is still the reason why am single today...

The truth sef is I insult any Nigerian girls I see in Greece... Nigerian girls in Greece are all lonely so anyone of then that comes across Nigeria guys is always waiting to be loved but I can't stop hating them...

The trauma still lives.. sad embarassed

Can one make so much money in greece like that? And am still considering canada seriously even after visa refusal.

@Frankrobbn1 and friends
Due to the fact that i havent receive any favourable reply from CIC regarding my application and my resumption is suppose to be May 18th and orientation was May4th,I had no option than to defer which i already did.

Now the bone of contention is this:
1.I am scared because i have to build another POF and the money will stay atleast 3Months in my bank account.

2.I can raise the living expense for 1year before september which is my new start date but i am sure i cant raise it until maybe july or august. So can i use one month SOA for the re-application ?

3.Do i need to ask them to defer till January because of the SOA as am self sponsor.

4.Yes i got bvl already no final decision yet but i am trying to have a backup plan.

help a brother !!!!!!

It seems like he is into those weed smuggling operations across the U.S - Canadian border, if not what will fetch you that amount so quickly. They show them on national geographic. Please don't get into that line of work. The west is truly lands of opportunities though. I have seen crane operators earning 150k dollars a year, that's like 60million naira year, or 5million naira a month. That kind of work is what we in nija will consider undesirable because we think it's low grade or degrading when in the real sense, it's actually high skilled job. Thats how the Nigerian system messes up it's youth with so much theoretical education and completely ignoring hands on or technical education which is in fact the bedrock of development. Most of the developed world owe their development on the backs of technical schools. In the west, to earn a million naira a month is actually extremely easy. Forklift operators, truck drivers, machine tool operators in factories, even construction workers earn that, you just need a few months of training. If you have the means, seriously plan to leave this mess of country. The future is bleak here mehn

Thank you for this deep message,i have read about the truck and forklift drivers, infact during lockdown truck drivers that move essential goods are still working..i wouldnt mind having your email or something i will love to chat or talk with you sir.

Then you'll have a good idea what kind of contractor business i got into to make bank wink.

You try but i still cant decode it anyway.

Lol i left for Canada last December. My salary at my suit and tie job back in Naij ( i won't call it home) was just under N200k per month.

I just calculated the income i received this month after taxes. Your boy netted N1,700,000 (6,200 CAD). I'm not even doing a professional job. I don't have a boss. I sleep and wake up when i want. I go to work when i want. I can take a month off ( not any time soon tho wink ) and return and still continue making money.

One caveat tho is that i worked every single day to make this. Day and Night. But i enjoy the job so it's nothing to me. Plus making good money is so addicting. I don't anticipate i'll clear this much after tax going forward but i can still net over 1 mill a month if i choose to.

The West is truly the land of opportunity. Dream come true.

Enlighten me about the job, maybe its something i can do too when i join you in canada..

Even this year someone still updated very recently. He got a BVL and was already consoling himself expecting the denial only for a medical letter to drop. All I am saying is don’t give up. Even if it’s a rejection you just restrategize and refire. There was a time on this thread they used to refer to a rejection as a “delay” because they were certain they were going to reapply and get their visa. And most eventually do. Immigration journey is one of determination.

Thank you for this, its highly motivating..God bless you.
