You have given two very mature replies in this thread; one to me, and the other to that onuwaje guy.
I understand both positions very well, no group wants to be dominated or have their uniqueness blurred, and everyone wants to exert their independence. Even within Yorubas in South West and North Central, you will still see some people saying they have their own identity, It is all accepted.- and that is why I said earlier that Itsekiri language and culture is a unique form of Yoruba, that should be strongly preserved and shielded from decline. Infact, contemporary Yorubas have much to learn from our itsekiri brothers. It might surprise you to know that Itsekiri preserve many forms of old Yoruba, that modern standardized Yoruba has lost.
But to outright deny the "Yorubaness" of Itsekiri, or that Itsekiris are a completely different ethnic group, as if they fell out of the sky and settled in their current location, is just plain silly. like you said you feel very at home with yoruba peeps, same way a yoruba would feel at home in any itsekiri village- From your reply, I take it that you have a good knowledge of central Yoruba, do you find it to be starkly different from Itsekiri?
I have more than a good knowledge. Am partly ekiti kete. Omuo ekiti to be precise. There is no difference. A yoruba person will understand itshekiri wiv much concentration because ede itshekiri yen lo gan (twisted) ... another example of similarities is ekaro in yoruba is erewuro in itshekiri. Ekasan is ereosan. Etc

It is not Ayonmike, but Ayomike, who is just another Yoruba guy, from the Itsekiri subgroup of course.
Oritseweyimi is my name. Which means Oluwadurotimi or oluwa, wa leyin mi. The similarity is glaring not to admit ties wiv yorubas. But I understand sha cus popsy always says itshekiri are a independent ethnic group. The long and short of everything is no ethnic group wants to be swallowed or dominated by the other cus this leads to discrimination and other things.

I understand that smaller ethnic groups like to have their own identity. It sounds stupid to me when they have a very similar identity to a larger ethnic group and yet deny it. If u keep saying itshekiri is not yorubas. What would u say about the language and the name? This are two very strong ethnic ties. I am itshekiri. I feel more at home wiv the yorubas. You also mentioned something about clothing. Although it's part of ethnic identification but clothing changes wiv time and food to but language stays d same.
My humble submission!

Exactly. There should be a good opposition to always put the party on check. I can't imagine a Nigeria wivout opposition. Baby Osisi is just as bad as the doctor she's foaming in the mouth about. She lives a wretched life in Houston and comes on naira land to misrepresent herself. Wonder why she couldn't show her face. She's one of the worst tribal jingoists on naira land. She wants to damage the man and his career before she would be satisfied. Most of the holier than thou critical of the Dr. have their own agendas. What's the essence of death threats and the KKK nonsense people are spewing. The doctor lives in a conceal and carry state and I hope he has FOI card for him and his family protection. I will go to any extent to defend my family.
U dey mind that one. See how she was foaming up and down the thread when she herself is not a saint. I am no saint either. I have talked against igbos a lot. Talked against yorubas too. And even where my dad is from. Itshekiri. I will not apologise for that. Many of us who are vocal only say what is being said in the confines of the so called non tribalist crew.. No man is absolutely devoid of prejudice and misconception. We all strike a balance when trying to look good to others. What irks me is that there are so many igbos who make inciting comments and hate speech. I mean igbos wiv very good jobs home and abroad. Just follow Ndigbo page. Should we then start taking out things from their pages and posting it to their offices. Enough of this victim mentality.

Nobody stops u from hating, after all FFK, kunle kelani, oba akiolu etc and many other yoruba bigots have been making hateful comments about igbos including the "omo Ibo" rants all over lagos. All these don't bother us, But clamoring for d slaughter of igbos is what We can't keep quite over.

The Rwanda "Kill d cockroaches " hateful comments that culminated in genocide started like this.

U can hate But I won't tolerate call for mass slaughter. I will slaughter u first with petition and all I have
Also make sure igbos worldwide who are doing well don't make such statements. Simple.

The owner of Ndigbo page afikpo chic. She is another bigot. Many times I have cautioned her. I follow Ndigbo page on fb and I see few igbos who are doing well abroad in their careers say all sort of things against yorubas. Nobody says anything. It is just wrong for anybody to lift up things from my wall and start displaying it.

I was firmly against Tinubu. I always write a lot of things on my wall on fb. I did not no the owner of proudly yoruba page was also a friend. I started seeing things on my wall posted on the page. If u see d way the yorubas there finished me. I was very upset. Had to investigate and I found out who the person is. It is utterly wrong to take post and comments from people wivout consent. One time I Googled my name and I found out one guy used my article on his blog. I wrote against muslims and why they have remained silent all this while. I was so critical about the situation. If u Google my name those are the first things u will see. Proudly yoruba page, and that guys blog. It's painful but that's the price of being vocal.

She is also abroad. If we are to collect things from her old post on social media and start a campaign against her. It would not be a bad idea.

The handling of Boko Haram was very poor, the economic situation in the north was not seen to being addressed, the extravagance of public office holders, the proliferation of private jets, acting as if this party would never end. “All these abused the sensitivities of a large section of the population. It was just a way of live for so many people. The divide was strictly between the rich and the poor. The middle class was eradicated; all that has to be addressed.

That's it...

Certainly not. But the government I no likes doing wuruwuru. Before embarking on things like this. There should be enough notice on ground. I doubt if most traders no that at anytime the government can come and change them. So it's not a bad thing but people need to be aware of the possibilities.

This is what we need. We can use the social media to our advantage in this country. Expose the public officials and make their misdeeds trend. They will do something. Find out what their children are doing. The kind of schools and cars they drive. Expose them. Don't keep quiet. This is what will ginger them to do something.

Silent no more!

Eventually Ladipo and computer village will have to leave their present sites...it's not hard to figure out. Once the LASG is ready to move them out...they will be moved out.
One thing I have noticed about Nigeria and lagos in particular is that we do not understand that there is town planning. Government owned land earmarked for schools and hospitals. Etc. Yet we complain of government not doing our roads etc when some people built houses untop of drainage and close to canals.... every area in lagos has a plan. Some even build houses and turn a street into a close. If omo onile is selling to you, why won't u go and make enquires from lagos state town planning. The moment government wake up to their responsibility, a lot of things will go and it will affect people. As for Ladipo, they might not necessarily move them, they can find a large expanse of land in ilupeju or turn an unused factory into an ultra modern market for spare parts. To me it makes more sense than totally moving them. But that computer village is very tricky. The only solution I see there is for it to be removed.

Is it a crime if we close a market notorious for its piracy?

Is it a sin if we shut down markets that do not conform with the mega city plans of Lagos, just because we want some wandering descendants of Cain to be happy?

We will go ahead and nothing will happen. Peter "Adaobi" can run into Jonah's wrapper at Otuoke once more.
Was actually told about this four days ago. It could be a rumour. But we cannot discard it cus it's not the first time such issue will come up. I think 2 years ago, Fashola talked about computer village. How the original plan for that area is residential. The fact that the roads on that axis are being constructed and also leads to other link roads. Well, I just feel before the government embark on such thing, they should create another place just like they did in tejuosho. But..........

Back off a little....how is computer village and Alaba sitting in residential zones? Have you been to Computer village before? That place is a trade zone abeg.

Go away with your conspiracy theories
Oga it's not my conspiracy theory as I have been hearing it for sometime. Yesterday most yoruba genre entertainers matched to government office and Fashola addressed them. From what I heard they want the total closure of Alaba market cus of piracy. That's the root cause. So I am not making up stories.

As for computer village and Ladipo. The master plan of lagos state shows that those areas are residential. This is not the first time such issue is coming up. There have been plans to relocate them for a long time for some reason, it was quenched. Only for it t o resurface again. Lagos State government plans to follow the master plan of lagos. By doing that a lot of businesses will be affected. Houses will go too. I heard from a reliable source hence I have been voicing out. So please this is beyond conspiracy.
