Ezinne, are you saying you like to share your men? |
Try asking your dad to introduce you to each of them one at a time. Since he's the one who is primarily related to them, he should be the one to introduce you. Be prepared - you may have no common interest with any of them, but it's ok. Others will definitely have better advice |
I interviewed a friend of mine, an experienced ladies-man, to answer this question. Question: Ok, so tell me, why is love so painful at times? Answer: You see, emotions in relationships are normally experienced by ladies. They put so much trust and sometimes their whole life into the little thing. Answer: Well, it's not their fault , because the guy you know would do what it takes to get her totally. I mean by crazy words and all that. Ladies read too much romantic novels and expect things that are in words to be actually practised, and this leads to dissapointment. Question: So what should they do? Answer: We just cant change the way a gender reacts towards things. A guy can walk away easily. But for a lady, it's another story. Questions: So why do the ladies enter into these relationships? Answer: Emotions, again. They are easily suseptible to, should I say, "scopings" (as you guys call it) A guy says 'I love you' on the first day and you take it like he has stood in front of what he believed in and sweared. Question: So what we should do is teach them how to resist scopings? Answer: Dr Love. Guys are manipulative. They can look innocent, they can look charming. And women are meant to melt. Besides, one thing that kills women is the money or beauty. It really kills them. Question: So what are you final words for the Nairalanders? Answer: Get a life! I mean, they are mature enough to know all this, especially those that have gone through different relationships. Wow, Dr. Love says you ladies take relationships too seriously. What do you think? |
This is how it's done A corrupt local government chairman passed away and a new one was appointed to take his place. When the replacement took charge, the citizens complained that the previous chairman was so corrupt that he got money sanctioned for a community center building, but used the money for himself instead of constructing the center. The new chairman promised to look into the matter and found that it was true. So he promptly had more money sanctioned to get the building demolished. |
What do you think about the thread Take Pictures With Your Computer Monitor? |
Hello, Why is it that when someone's husband, wife, fiance, fiancee, boyfriend or girlfriend indulges in sex with someone else, the person becomes very angry? Why is it such a big deal? Here are some factors that came to my mind:
[li]Your wife/girlfriend/fiancee could get pregnant for the other person and give birth to a child that is not yours. Note: DNA analysis can be used to determine the paternity of a child.[/li] [li]Your husband/boyfriend/fiance could father the other woman's child and consume resources that would have been used to take care of the your own children. Once again, we observe that such pregnancies can be prevented using various methods.[/li] [li]Your partner could contact STDs or the HIV virus and pass them on to you.[/li] [li]Your partner may spend a significant amount of money on the other person, therefore 'shortening your ration' (I guess this applies more to unfaithful men ...)[li][li]You feel bad because the infidelity implies that your partner is not satisfied with your 'performance'[/li]
Ok, that's all I can think of. It sure seems as if the above 'disadvantages' of sexual infidelity are just too weak ccompared to the indignation that people display when they discover that their partner has been cheating on them ... |
A Nigerian politician was opportuned to visit Columbia. While there, he met a civil servant who owned several luxury cars and lived in a mansion with several servants. "How can a mere civil servant be so affluent?" asked the Nigerian. The Columbian took him to the window and asked, "do you see that road?" "Yes?" The civil servant patted his pocket and said, "15%". So the politician returned to Nigeria. One year later, the Columbian was in Nigeria. When he noticed that the Nigerian now had a more lavish lifestyle than himself, he had to ask, "how manage?". They went to the window. "Do you see that bridge over there?" "What bridge?" The Nigerian pats his pocket and says, "100%". |
I forgot to mention the Bill Cosby Show. Definitely one black movie that I think is funny. |

War is not as easy as some of you are painting it. Even if the conditions in the country are not ideal yet, why is secession the answer? Civil wars are always bloody. Old2boy, you are right: the reason the yorubas (excluding me ) are no longer talking about secession is because a yoruba man has been in power for 6 years. The hausas, I am sure, are not interested in any secession - all they want is for the next president to be a hausa man. Perhaps all we need in this country is for our next president to be an igbo man? There is no way the south-easterners can break out of the country without the loss of millions of their lives. Is it really worth it? Because even if they succeed in breaking away, they will start fighting among themselves (for control of the oil fields). You see, the "Igbo nation" is not a homogenous nation; do you remember that this is why Lord Lugard's indirect rule system did not work for them? This goes to show that no good can come out of Igbo secession. Not for them, and certainly not for the rest of us. We need to stick with Nigeria and make it work. We need to be patient with the process. Nigeria, as it stands today, remains the giant of Africa. |
.. The end? |
STB appointed principal Mastercard Member MasterCard International, the world’s leading payment solutions company, has appointed Standard Trust Bank Plc, as a principal member of its consortium of partner financial institutions worldwide. The appointment, which is in recognition of STB’s dominant position in Nigeria allows the bank to issue the flagship MasterCard and Maestro Card; the debit card version of the MasterCard. The credit and debit cards would be dollar-denominated and acceptable as a means of payments for goods and services in over 210 countries at more than 22 million locations worldwide (shops to restaurants, hotels, internet and over 350,000 automated teller machines (ATMs). STB is also a member of the ATM Consortium Limited (ATMC) which represents a collaborative effort to develop a shared infrastructure throughout Nigeria for participating banks (members and non-members alike) to dispense cash to their customers through the ATMs of the consortium. http://www.standardtrust.com/STBNews.htm |
YInka, you need to tell us more. |
And what gives you the impression that children of yesterday were not just as smart as the children we have today? Just because a child knows so much about sex from watching PG-13 hollywood movies doesn't mean he/she i's smarter. The time he/she spent watching the PG-13 movies could have been spent doing something else - like reading books - that brings genuine development of the mind. This whole "children are smarter" belief is really wrong, but since it's harmless I won't say any more about it. Just make sure your children learn about love and sex from you and not from hollywood movies or steamy novels! |
Welcome to Nairaland, Yinka! |
Nice tip, Angelgirl. If you've noticed the GPRS, please share your experiences here. If this is true, then some of us who have abandoned the MTN network might decide to come back! |
While we're on the issue of foreign investment in Nigeria, the following blog posts:
[li]Lagos: (Relative) Business Paradise - on AdamSmithee, and[/li][li]New Kid on the Block - by Abiola Lapite on Foreign Dispatches[/li]
... have noted that Nigeria, inspite of the (partly deserved) reputation for fraud and corruption, is rated better than China (and the Phillipines, Venezuela, Lebanon and Indonesia) and only slighty worse than India, Egypt and Russia in the Kurtzman Group's 'Opacity Index', which basically measures the level of corruption in a country. A chart which summarizes the Opacity Index, including Nigeria's position in the index, is available here. You can also download the full report as opacity.pdf. |
Ok, let's assume for the sake of argument that the Nigerian census population figure is inaccurate. Would you agree with the CIA's estimate of world population? According to the CIA website,
[li]At birth and up to the age of 15, there are 106 boys for every 100 girls.[/li] [li]Between 15 and 64 years, there are 103 men for every 100 women.[/li] [li]At 64 years and above, there are 79 men for every 100 women (men die young).[/li] [li]Overall, there are 101 men for every 100 women[/li]
Source: http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html (search the page for sex ratio) So during the period when people date, get engaged, and married (18-35), there are more men than women. |
ThisDay Online is now reporting that Vodacom is set to take over Vmobile Nigeria. Talk about a change of mind! According to them, "Barring any last minute changes or a more substantial offer from United Kingdom’s Virgin Mobile, South Africa’s Vodacom is set to win the bid for a majority stake in Nigeria’s mobile telecom operator, Vmobile Nigeria" The reason given, though, is very weak: "THISDAY gathered that it is the value shareholders are going to get from the Vodacom deal that has informed the sudden change of mind. A source close to the directors, however, said that 'nothing is conclusive yet'". Source: http://thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=18473 (username nairaland, password nairaland) |
According to the National Population Census, there are more men than women. I am so tired of hearing that there are more women than men, because it's a big lie. There are more men than women in Nigeria. In 1998 there were 55.9 million men to 54.6 million women. Please, let's correct ourselves. http://www.motherlandnigeria.com/population.html |
Manuel, I have noticed that most admirers of Omotola Ekeinde (and Genevieve Nnaji ) are female, so Mr. Ekeinde probably has nothing to worry about. Unless they are lesbians .On a more serious note, I think people like me and manuel - as men - are more qualified to determine which woman is more attractive ... |
mosiate: Seun, why do you have to join razor on this issue? Genevieve is the bomb. The problem with Genevieve Nnaji releasing an album is this: she's a star actor, but in music she's a novice. So there is no way her first album will satisfy people who have been used to getting the best performance from her; there's no way it would not fall short. I am not dissapointed in the album. I didn't expect it to be anything special, so I was not dissapointed. It's not only in Nigeria that popular actresses make the mistake of going into music (for example, the young american actress Lindsay Lohan is guilty of one woeful album, too )What makes their albums so "bad" is this: the albums are average, but our expectations are so high. We expect the best from Genevieve but the album was just average, therefore we are not happy! |
Very interesting. I know a lot of people in my area who use Starcomms lines. However, they all spend much more than 500 naira per week (business lines) so I doubt that they'll be able to tell me much. Has anyone else on this forum experienced something like this? |
Ka: If she's still sticking with him despite the complaints, she must have her reasons.Possible Reasons:
[li]The sweet words convincing her that he really loves her?[/li][li]Fear of being dumped if she refuses to cook as demanded?[/li][li]"Good cultural upbringing" that says a dutiful woman is supposed to cook for her man?[/li]
Tayotina, at this point you need to give us more info! Tell us more about your friend. |
Branson can only hav at most 49% share in VmobileI'm relieved to hear that. Which means he won't necessarily be controlling the company. This means he's going to have enough Nigerians on board to frustrate his decisions and oppose his bold business moves. ![]() |
