Fellow Nairalanders,

Nairaland was down for two hours due to a minor miscommunication with our host that was related to copyright infringement.

It shouldn't have taken as long as 2 hours to restore Nairaland, but it took a while for us to figure out exactly what to do because it hadn't happened before, and we also had to wait for our host's support team to restore us fully after taking the necessary steps.

We are sorry for this inconvenience.

We know that keeping Nairaland working is especially important in this terrifying political climate, and we take it very seriously. Nigerians need a platform that they can use to share their views freely with each other. We believe that Nairaland is that platform.

I noticed that when I post a blog-site the thing is cut off and part deleted on this forum.

Spammers were using and WordPress to create infinite urls, so we had to block them.

I can defend myself and also act on the things that I know how to act on. This is a false choice.

People need to know that we are ordinary human beings and treat us with basic respect. If I devote my life to a site for other people to enjoy and some of those people cannot show us basic human respect, then it sucks.

I've read the suggestions and I appreciate each and every one of them.

The supermods have been instructed to inform me about any complaints that they come across, but sometimes they will delete the threads without telling me. If I happen to discover those threads they will say that it was a mistake. If I don’t, then nothing happens, which is the case most of the time.

However, to be completely fair, once I have read a complaint and it’s been addressed, the thread will be locked because it would have served its purpose of giving me information that I can act upon. If the thread makes dangerous, false accusations then it will be hidden because nothing good comes from lies.

Cry me a river. The truth is always bitter. In the same way this place reflects our physical environment, those in authority cannot claim they haven’t collected payment to push a narrative.

Anyone with who reviews what I write critically will find that my views are logical and sincere and fair. I know what I have done and what I have not done and if you claim that I’ve done something I know I didn’t do, that violates rule 8.

Why can't you resist the temptation to ascribe sinister motives to us as we face these challenges. Seun wants this, Seun only cares about that. How do you know? I'm used to criticism but to have lies told about my motives is much harder to handle and emotionally draining. Please stop doing this.

Boss you may need a special mod to ban or 'remove' those Illicit topics and threads once they are spotted..

Israel has suffered a lot in spite of the covenant. Most of them don't even believe it.

Until they stop firing rockets into Israel, a ceasefire isn't possible. I think Israel is trying to totally destroy Hamas so it will take a very long time for them to regroup, buy weapons, and attack Israel some other time. It is terrible that poor Palestinians are caught between Hamas and Natenyahu with nowhere to escape to.

If you see anything that is not right, report it and it will be removed.

No I wasn’t confirming that. They can be defeated. Thats why they have to work extra hard to avoid defeat. If they relaxed, they would be defeated and it would be very terrible for them.
