Career › Re: How Much is a Good Salary in Nigeria? by Seun(mod): 6:08pm On Jan 28, 2007
Some industries are consistently more lucrative than others, for various good reasons. Even abroad.

All right, cyberangel. Thanks for the correction. So you're going to pay for every script submitted. Cool! smiley
Politics › Re: Is Nigeria A Failed State? by Seun(mod): 5:53pm On Jan 28, 2007
this is like a slight on some Nairamembers who graduated in honours but are still searching for jobs.
I've repeatedly adviced people to focus their efforts on self-employment, but they refuse to listen.
In an under-developed country like Nigeria there are always going to be more business opportunities than jobs.
Jobs only appear in the market when there are many entrepreneurs exploiting these business opportunities.
If people start channeling their super-human efforts at job-seeking into self-employment, they will all be employed.

Seun, A comparison is based on two known conditions. You have to know New York before you compare it with Lagos. New York is a well organized city and Lagos is opposite.
The traffic in Lagos is bad. The traffic in New York is bad. For the same reason: heavy population. Simple.
The roads in a city like Abeokuta may be worse than the roads in New York, but they are not congested.

Nigeria is not at war period and cannot be compared with other war torn countries.
Nigeria being a "failed state" is often used as an excuse to start a civil war to divide the country. I'm just preemptively pointing out the far more serious problems of African countries where that has been tried.
TV/Movies › Re: Needs A Movie Script Buyer by Seun(mod): 5:22pm On Jan 28, 2007
Someone wants you to give away your script because you "may" win big. How re-assuring.
TV/Movies › Re: Will Nigerian Home Videos Run Out Of Titles? by Seun(mod): 5:11pm On Jan 28, 2007
Hollywood has produced many more movies than Nollywood and they are yet to run out of titles, so the correct answer to this question, as hot-angel has amply demonstrated, has to be "no way!" Imaginative producers will always be able to come up with good names for their movies. A movie with a bad title simply lacks a good producer.
TV/Movies › Re: High Definition TV (HDTV) In Nigeria by Seun(mod): 5:05pm On Jan 28, 2007
Most TV stations in Nigeria can't boast of noise-free standard definition signals. More importantly, they don't have enough interesting programs to fill in their daily time slots.

More tellingly, the VCD format, which is half the resolution of standard definition, is still the standard for watching movies in Nigeria. In fact, some people still watch movies on VHS tapes.

So it's too early to be thinking about high definition TV in Nigeria. It's not a priority, and not worth the cost at all.
Nairaland General › Re: How Long Does Your 'Meter' Say You've Spent On Nairaland? by Seun(mod): 5:00pm On Jan 28, 2007
Hey, Seun, you have spent 165 days, 10 hours and 26 minutes online. Even hot-angel can't beat that. wink
Autos › Re: Motorcycle Operators Banned Indefinitely In Calabar by Seun(mod): 4:56pm On Jan 28, 2007
Our government needs to learn to stick to it's primary responsibility: protection of freedom.

How do you protect freedom? By using force to limit the activities enemies of peace and freedom like armed robbers and burglars, thugs, murderers, kidnappers, rapists, domestic abusers, et cetera.

When the government, instead of protecting freedom, chooses to becomes an enemy of freedom, then there's a problem. (This problem is not unique to Nigeria, though. Afterall George Bush is also busy mis-"managing" America.)

If some okada riders are nighttime robbers, catch them and prosecute them. It's painfully obvious that banning the innocent will only lead to more crime. One would expect better from the famous Governor Duke.
Family › Re: Would You Marry An Actor Or Actress? by Seun(mod): 8:52pm On Jan 27, 2007
am already married to one
Have you fixed a date for the inevitable divorce? grin (just kidding!)
Family › Re: Would You Marry An Actor Or Actress? by Seun(mod): 8:06pm On Jan 27, 2007
Unless you're ready to share your spouse with the world, you probably shouldn't marry an actor or actress. Any attempt to prevent the actor from accepting sexual or romantic roles will be to the detriment of his/her career. That will eventually cause the marriage to dissolve if one is not an extremely understanding spouse. It must be hard!

However, if I have such a privilege, I'd probably consider it very seriously. It might be beneficial in many ways.
Family › Re: Should Wives Submit To Their Husbands? by Seun(mod): 8:03pm On Jan 27, 2007
But when it comes to money spending, they're so quick to shout that it is a man's responsibility
Actually, it's the "submissive" types that behave like this. Also, one can't be forced to accept the "responsibility".

layiforen: I don't believe in the bible. I don't claim to believe in it. And this is not a Christian thread. wink
Family › Re: Should Wives Submit To Their Husbands? by Seun(mod): 7:54pm On Jan 27, 2007
The bible is also written by men. Out of 66 books in the bible, none was written by a woman. No wonder.

Yes. I think our criticism is only meant to bring more attention to the show and spur it to greater heights.

Experienced stock traders will tell you to never allow your feelings to affect your judgement about when to buy or sell. That's what separates the professional gamblers from those who just lose their money.

DO you have a good reason to believe that your broker doesn't know what he's saying?

They went to cool fm, the palms, eko hotel e.t.c and got quite a lot of commitment to attend from apparent high income earners ( and some white guys)
Their success in these tasks might be purely due to their attachment to this TV show?

I think the problem about the arrangement is the ethics. Is it ethical? Can it be misused? What are the problems of sperm banking? etc.

Science and infact Medicine is advancing at an incredible rate but we must remember that as good as this is, if we are not bound by the laws of ethics then all these can have negative impacts on the society.
I think this is pretencious, but I'll humor you. Can you help elaborate on the "ethics" of this simple question?

Neji brushed the sound nins he fought but gara would have
died if not for the fact that kimimaro was sick before the battle.
Kimimaro was Orochimaru's ultimate vessel. The sound ninjas Neji fought were not. Advantage: Gaara!
