texazzpete:My thoughts exactly! |
Her video is going to be posted on right wing channels as one of disadvantages of immigration. They don't care that she's only acting a skit, it'll probably be presented as "Drug up illegal African suffers psychiatric episode on the streets of England". |
This is sad news. He was a good man. I trusted him with all my car repairs because he knew his stuff from back to front. I would even take my parents cars to him all the way from the Island. May the Almighty give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

CSTRR:Not nitpicking. It is not totally correct to call Airbus German. It's owned in part by the French, German, and Spanish governments as well as other investors. |
People raised by single parents are usually dysfunctional in marriage or in a relationship because of their own circumstances. Being raised by a single parent would include absent parents. That is, mom and dad are together but one of them lives separately because of circumstances including working out of town. The only way out of that loop is if the subject recognises this issue and compensates for it. Unfortunately, you already have kids with her and she's going to bring them up with her poorly ways. Please try to be there for those kids as much as you can. |

It looks like a dark theme. I unplugged my charger thinking it was sth wrong with my screen ![]() |
The guy was all over the place accusing people of hating on him for asking him about the source of his wealth and or asking him to be clear to his followers about how home purchases in the western world works. Although he didn't say, I think he probably has a mortgage. When you get a mortgage, your lender gives you a set amount of money to buy the home. You agree to pay back your loan – with interest – over a period of several years. A $150,000 30-year mortgage with a 4% interest rate comes with about a $716 monthly payment. The exact costs will depend on your loan's term and other details. Details such as his status in the US being he's Nigerian, his deposit contribution to the home (10-20% of the price of the home), his credit score, etc, will be factored in. TBH, some of the people asking questions were genuine, others were just trolling him. Better to avoid posting things like that on social media in the first place. You also don't want to give people the wrong impression about how life abroad is. |
thisweekng:WTH is "fowl word"? |
ahiboilandgas:This man, you're citing the worst experience in discouraging people from taking a chance of a better life/future. Another person can cite examples of hundreds of thousands of Nigerians in the diaspora doing excellently well. Worse still, your brother couldn't get more than a 60k job in the same Nigeria you're encouraging folks to stay back in! According today's rate, your brother's monthly salary is hardly equal to the daily wage of a blue collar worker in the same UK you're shitting on! |
ahiboilandgas: ![]() I am pretty sure you posted here some years ago about your wife and kids moving to Scotland and then you mentioned that you were considering joining them or shuttling. You also wrote that you sponsored your brother for his masters in Ireland on the Ireland visa thread. |
It's sexy, I love it on my spouse. |
mrcodebreaker:Went back to Naija because I had a plum job waiting with housing provided and all. I regret it to date. |
solalal36:This was years ago. As a student or a single person, you can put up with a not too optimum situation just to "balance your books" insofar it's not illegal and you keep your eyes fixed on the ball, you'll be fine |
Lexusgs430:Mahn, I feel you, it was crazy. An angle was that I left my great job in Lagos to pursue the better life only to end up doing menial jobs to survive. However, it has been for the best so far. Here's my take: Don't do it for yourself, you may be comfortable, you may have a job, house and car, what about your children? Do you think they'd have the same opportunities as you? Does it look like Nigeria will do right by them? Give them a fighting chance if you can. Enough said. PS: people, please don't come abroad by force, do only what is legally allowed. |
This thread reminds me of my time in the UK - studying full-time and working as a porter in Lang Stracht just to survive. I worked from Fridays to Sundays because there were no classes on Fridays. Although the restaurant I worked with offered more hours, I had to stick to the 20 hours PW term time quota because I was dead scared of flouting the visa rule and ending up in Lagos. I knew so many guys who did 40 hours PW and nothing happened to them, but mahn, I was a good lad To balance my account, I worked hyper during the holiday periods. At the minimum, I earned 600 GBP PM, my rent in a single room shared apartment was around 210 GBP PM, living expenses was low because I always had food from work and I lived with a wonderful Nigerian lady who worked part-time as a chef. In all, I worked as a porter, a ticketing agent in a club, cashier, service at events and as a kitchen hand. For me, it was back breaking work but it helped pay the remainder of my tuition, my monthly rent and bills, the money I sent home and the land I bought in Lagos. And against all odds, I still graduated with a first and with the class prize. The story still plenty Shout outs to ABZ! |
Those messages were composed by either an Indian or a Pakistani. This is the way they write and speak their upside down Engrish. |
Spent about €2000 on a 2-week holiday. I don't have a place or a car so I have to stay in an hotel, eat in restaurants and use ride hailing apps. Of course you have to be kind to your family and friends. |

cbrass:It is. The people of Bini may not be Yorubas (although there's a shared history, however that's not the point here), but the kings were by blood. This was evident in the culture, rights and language of court being Yoruba. https://www.jstor.org/stable/40465021 It is just as the blood line of the English throne is German. The House of Windsor is the reigning royal house of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. In 1901, the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (a branch of the House of Wettin) succeeded the House of Hanover to the British monarchy with the accession of King Edward VII, son of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. In 1917, the name of the royal house was changed from the anglicised German Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to the English Windsor because of anti-German sentiment in the United Kingdom during World War I. https://doi.org/10.1111%2F1467-954X.00200 Note that I have neither claimed Yoruba ownership of Benin nor it's current Kings, all that is history as neither the English throne nor the German people lay any particular emphasis on the German origins of the throne anymore. |

I pay more than that in taxes to the useless FG every month, so I don't owe anybody a dime. National debt is not a bad thing if it's used to finance infrastructural development and to create jobs. For example, the UK's national debt is about £2.4 Trillion which is more 100% of the country's GDP, that is, about £38.650 per citizen and £66.477 per taxpayer. However, in Nigeria, we all know where the money that is generated or borrowed goes to. |
The port of Dover is the closest channel port linking the UK and France/EU. There's the port of Calais on the French side. This is one of the immediate "benefits" of BREXIT. These ports have the highest passenger traffic between them. So any delays due to customs checks will cause gridlocks as you can see in these pictures. The UK keeps losing relevance with more conservatism and isolationist policies, but the English seem to be happy with this. They've gone from the empire on which the sun never sets to a tiny island in western europe. Scotland is soon to be free. Wales is tethered to England for economic reasons. Maybe the Irish will get Northern Ireland back and we can have a united Eire once more |
mimimiles93:I don't know what your contention is here if not that you are a jobless gnat. It's his thread, he can post whatever he likes. If you are not satisfied with whatever he has posted, get yourself busy by posting yours. |
showerspro:Yes! Thanks. I found them funny, they were mute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOn2DZPJskE You woke up a 2013 thread though ... LOL |
Hi Purples25, what is your take on this topic? |
