PhonesRe: Rooting Tecno F7 by seunpayne(m):
until it so happens that someone uploads the system image, this is the quickest method to unbrick. most people calling me didn't back up so if you are reading dis and you haven't bricked or fone, you had better backup with either cwm or twrp. you really have no excuse if you have a rooted phone.

here are the steps: (note this step is for cwm users only)
note: you will need a working f7 too. so go out and look for one. people in abuja can call me.

1. go to the tecno f7 official discussion thread here and download d tools I uploaded there. (I might post d link here later sha) download everything including the cwm recovery image and put in one folder. if you dont have d correct drivers den download d tecno f7 root tools zip file too. make sure everything is one folder. now download the so flash tools and make sure its the version specified in the posts above or else it won't work.

2. at this point everything should be downloaded and installed. root the working f7 and install mobile uncle tools from playstore now follow the instructions I wrote in the post where you downloaded cwm from and flash it into d working f7. once that is done boot into recovery and backup the phone (nothing will go wrong but we need to)

3. now open the folder where u downloaded d files to (everything must be in d same folder o) and cut the scatter file out and paste it in anoda place (anywhere. just make sure its not in d same folder as the other files).
open so flash tools and use d file tab to load DAT scatter file. copy d cwm recovery and overwrite d recovery inside d folder

now it should show u a list of things to flash. untick everything except recovery. now double click on d word recovery andselect d cwm recovery you copied there. please make sure everything is in d same folder o.

4 remove the bat3 from the bricked f7. click download in sp flash tools and plug d bricked f7. flashing will begin and whenn it ends you should see a green circle.

5. now put d memory card from the working f7 inside d bricked one and put the bat back. press and hold d volume up + power button and you will see 3 options when it boots. use d volume up to scroll to the first option (recovery mode) and use d volume down button to select it. and cwm should boot.

6 now use d volume buttons to scroll down to backup and restore. use d power button to select it. chose advanced restore and den choose d file with DAT days date and den chose restore system. once that is done your phone will wake up again.

I'll answer questions now.

Oya lets do this once and for all. In the past week i have helped more than 7 people unbrick their phones all because of this font issue.

My number is 08068081502 so add me on whatsapp nd I'll guide u thru the process. Until i get enough data to upload d system image, if you want to unbrick ur fone u will need to get a working f7 along with your own so we can mount its system on urs.

Also if anyone can, please upload your system image so that people can download.

And please if u have not done it... Backup your rom today...

etekamba65: i found it a bit stressful too but later discovered the secret is to press and HOLD untill you hear the "snap" sound. now i do it as i want, when i want. just learn it patiently. there is no need installing an external app (with inconveniencing ads for that matter) for a function thatbisbinbuilton d phone. secondly, it will be hard to get a screen shot app thay works with f7. i tried it when i was ignorant.
Thank you very much, will try it now
PhonesRe: Tecno F7 (Phantom A1) Discussion Thread by seunpayne(m): 12:08pm On Jul 09, 2013
Ok, i have noticed that a lot of people have managed to brick their phones when trying to change fonts. I feel really bad for you. Unbricking is really simple but i cant upload d files you will need until next week.

Anyway, this is for those who havent tried it but are thinking of it. It is important that we all know that rooting ur fone and installing superuser is not the end.

If you want to make changes to your system partition you will need to have busybox installed and working.
So please if you havent done that, please head over to playstore and download a busybox installer app and get that done.

Also, please try to flash either twrp or cwm recovery and do a nand backup. It is the quickest way to unbrick a bricked device and if you really need to customize then you really need to backup

Happy modding

Oh, btw can anyone recommend a good screenshot app? That volume nd power button scope doesn't work for me
TV/MoviesThe Nigerian Film School: A View by seunpayne(op): 11:43am On Jul 01, 2013
THE NIGERIAN FILM SCHOOL
Nigeria became involved in the production of films and by 1970, the first indigenous feature film was produced in Nigeria: Kongi’s Harvest. It was however directed by an American and it featured many foreigners as crew members. Later more people got involved in the production of indigenous films, people like Eddie Ugbomah, Ladi Ladebo, Ola Balogun, among others.
In 1979, the Nigerian Film Corporation was established to provide structural backbone for the development of the film industry in terms of manpower training, marketing assistance and infrastructure. A decree validating its existence was released by the government and the facility was allotted to it in Jos, Plateau state but it did not help the industry much. This was as a result of the expense of creating films in celluloid form, which was later curbed by the introduction of home videos in the 1980’s. The home video made use of cassettes for production.
Due to the process of film introduction in Nigeria, a number of film schools have emerged. Schools set up to train for professional film makers and actors, and to make good films. The most popular and widely known film schools are the Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo film schools. They are popular and widely known because of their presentation and representation of indigenous Nigeria. This indigenous representation is in terms of language, dressing, beliefs, food, norms and values, culture and tradition as a whole.
The Yoruba film school could be referred as being the most popular of all three as it carries out more activities and has turned out more films and there is this argument that the Yoruba film school started the film making process in Nigeria.
Herbert Ogunde is a resounding name in the Yoruba film school as he and his family –commonly called the ‘Yoruba Travelling Theatre’- went from place to place staging dramas. He later proceeded to films produced in Yoruba language alongside film producer Ola Balogun and others. He is referred to as the ‘father of Nigerian theatre’. Some of the early Yoruba films are ‘Ija Ominira’, ‘Aiye’, ‘Omo Oro’, ‘Ija Omiran’, ‘Jaiyesimi’, and a few others. Following in Ogunde’s footsteps are people like David Folayan, Tunde Kelani, Jide Kosoko, Alade Aromire and a host of others.
The Hausa film school has a shocking effect on people as it is northern and the north is known for its poor rate of civilisation and development. Despite these though the film school emerged and has made waves round the nations, especially with their ‘Bollywood style’ acting (singing and dancing). The school is called ‘Kannywood’ and is very promising. Some early films produced by the school are ‘Shehu Umar’, ‘Kanta of Kebbi’, and lots more up to date. Sadiq Tafawa Balewa is a resounding name in the Hausa film school.
The Igbo film school’s existence is not exact as you cannot particularly point it out. Arguments in favour of the Igbo film school states that most films produced by Nigeria’s Nollywood portray the Igbo cultures and ways of life to a large extent (this we can all agree to). It is also argued that the Igbo’s paved the way for film making in Nigeria, since the colonial masters collaborated with the natives and produced ‘Amadi’, the first film portraying Nigeria, but especially Igbo culture.
Some films that represent the Igbo culture are ‘Living in Bondage’, ‘Things Fall Apart’, ‘Taboo’, ‘Jezebel’, ‘Rattlesnake,’ and many more. Kenneth Nnebue, Zeb Ejiro, Kenneth Okonkwo, Amaka Igwe-Isaac and a few other film wrights make it a point of duty to represent the Igbo culture.
It is safe to say that there exists an Igbo film school, as it has been portrayed since 1992, it just is not as advanced as either the Yoruba or Hausa film schools respectively.
There has also been production of films in minor languages such as Efik, Ijaw, Itshekiri, Ibibio, and a few others.
In time past other film schools have emerged out of the existing film schools, just that they are less indigenous. Some of such are PEFTI film institute, Mount Zion ministries, Lekbat film school, Zenith film institute, and a few others.

Ok, for those complaining about the bat3 i think by now you know even samsung hasn't made a phone that will satisfy your needs. For those who wish to speed up d charging time here is my tip
1. Root your phone
2. Get setcpu from apkmania
3. Reduce ur max clock speed to 835mhz
4. Change ur governor nd scheduler to ondemand and cfq respectively
Download du battery from play store to keep d phone from heating

This will charge ur phone quickly without it getting hot. If u wish to play game as well u can change ur max clock back but dont change d governor.

Enjoy... With this setting brenda can last a whole day with average use.

What is all this poo about the bat3? Does samsung galaxy s4 last a whole day with heavy use? Bashing a phone because you don't know how to use it or probably don't have it is immature. F7 is awesome. Granted its an old chip but please don't call it substandard. The bat3 is up to par and lasts longer dan every phone with its exact specs. Consider d fact that u r running a hd screen... D phone try abeg. And for those calling it a hot plate. You are simply just ignorant.

Also before go, hollasyd posted twrp. Dont compare dem as dey do the same thing... If this is the first time you are using recovery i suggest u use twrp because it has a user friendly ui.

Also if its only the recovery you flash you CANNOT BRICK YOUR PHONE... So please do just dat and make a backup before trying anything else. 08068081502. Contact me anytime nd i will answer your questions.

HOLLASLYD: Are you posting my recovery or yours undecided

If yours, what is it based on.
I plan on bringing touch Wiz to f7
This is the reason i like to keep to myself. Wetin consign recovery with touch wiz? Your recovery... Did you give me any or post one for me to download? What is it based on? Are recoveries based on anything apart from normal ram disks? You plan on bringing touch wiz den please do... All i did was post cwm that I ported myself. Its not a competition nd if you dont want me here i will gladly leave. But don't use me to catch cruise. If you want to know something ask. Dont first make yourself larger than life and if you know something tell us don't make yourself an island of ignorance because xda dey... Nuffin we do here is new...

Warning again... Dont run any memory test with flash tool

I don't mean to be mean and insensitive. Forgive me if i give that vibe but the essence of a forum is so you can learn. If someone has posted that something is bad why will you go on an try it to?

Now the phone done brick and you need help but instead of waiting for help you try to tinker and make things worse. My number is up there. Holla but remember i am not God and i dont work for tecno. That means i may not solve your problem.

The first custom os will be out next week. For those of you that cant wait i beg you to chill till we have a working recovery so we dont run into more brick issues.

Happy modding. Btw anyone who knows how to use android kitchen should please contact me. I need an extra hand

janga: dude i'm if i derail ur thread,
plz u knw d key combination to boot Tecno N7 into fastboot, its stucked on bootlop after installin font and i wnt flash d system.img file
f7 doesnt have fastboot...it uses a uboot partition. which means you will need a system to flash anything into it. until we manage to port either cwm, twrp into the recovery that is the only available option

too boot into uboot, press and hold the power button and the volume up button. its written in Chinese however. i do know that the last option is to reboot the device, the first is to display the phone info. the third would boot the device after a hard reset...not sure sha...either the third or the fourth. since u already have a boot loop u really have nothing to lose.
if you need the rom sha...i will try to see if i can upload the whole thing tomorrow.
happy modding
