Even all the courses you've been taught were taught in English (except our native language), so why make lame excuse(s) for a lecturer's crass ineptness? true talk, but you know mistakes are made. In communication if you write the correct English and people don't understand you, you have not communicated. I believe the people the question was set for understood him because, he had communicated to them effectively. |
Politics › Re: Why My Father Is Not Aware Of Poor State Of Aso Rock Clinic –zahra by sexy74(m): 6:37pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
Nne5: President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter, Zahra, has explained why her father may not be aware of the deteriorating state of the Aso Villa clinic.
Just yesterday, Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari ”flamed” up over the state of the hospital which according to her is shameful.
But before then, Zahra had on September 29th called out the permanent secretary of the state house over the poor condition of the hospital.
Zahra asked why the hospital lacked basic items such as a syringe even when it has a N3. 2 billion budgetary allocations.
After she called out the Permanent Secretary, Nigerians reacted in different ways; while some applauded her for speaking out, others asked her to go and seek answers from her father.
After her mother’s speech yesterday, Zahra took to her Instagram page to reply some of the question posted by Nigerians.
The President’s daughter wrote, “I was insulted a lot about the hospital thing and I have to tell you that I laughed at a lot of them and was really sad at a lot of them because it really made me understand that a lot of Nigerians are not as educated as I thought.
“Many people were saying that I should ask my father, I should tell him. The thing is that many people are appointed at different stages and they make sure that whatever they are in charge of works out well and they monitor properly.
“So, the president can’t be at every point. He can’t be monitoring everyone’s post. It is impossible. It is literally impossible. So there are some things happening now to help with the state house hospital.”
http://dailypost.ng/2017/10/10/father-not-aware-poor-state-aso-rock-clinic-presidents-daughter-zahra/ We know his ears are disturbing him so he cant hear well, so please go and shout on him so he will know. |

Christianity Etc › Re: I Just Gave My Tithe To A Beggar. Was I Wrong? by sexy74(m): 9:53am On Oct 08, 2017 |
mdokaba1: It was a very stressful week for me as it involved lots of travels and all. So its a Saturday and I was paid for a project I did for the month past.
Going by my tired nature, I knew deep down me that there was no way I could have made it to church the next day and I was hell bent on paying my tithe because of the inherent blessings therein and the last thing on my mind would be to give it to my nebor to pay it for me. (The guy broke and besides I didn't want him to start calculating my take-home (Na sharp man). And I knew deep down that if I keep the money till the next time I would be in church, I was sure I would spend it. (God have mercy on me sha)
So I decided even before getting home to package my tithe and while in the market on a shopping spree I package my tithe and dropped it in the plate of an old beggar. (A mulsim beggar precisely)
Instantly, I saw 50 shades of shocks on her face as she looked at me for a few seconds and I could read her facials more like "For this Buharia?" Lols. And before I disappeared into the crowd, I could see/read her lips mutter prayers pointing towards me. And deep down, I felt blessed and fulfilled.
But was I wrong to have given my 10percent to a beggar instead of to the alter?
Opinions please. My brother capital NO. You have done no wrong, may God bless your heart. |

betterABIAstate: "Amounted to zero or did not amounted to zero" what kind of English is that? It should be "amounted to zero or did not AMOUNT to zero"
So much from unilag, its like saying "arrived at zero or did not ARRIVED at zero" the correct statement should be "arrived at zero or did not ARRIVE at zero" or saying "he did not came to zero"
Up unilag simply means less than or equal to zero |

I told them that when I bought the decoder initially I had no location problem everything was working fine then suddenly location problem came up. After much argument and nothing been done about it I had to dash out my decoder and I put a curse on them that nothing good will ever come out of them and their fortunes will continue to dwindle. I wonder how people see things, you have cultures and it does not mean our cultured are evil. This can be for entertainment. You don't throw away your identity all because of religion that is based on the culture of other people. Where has the so called religion we all practice taking us to? You have more wicked people practising religion than practising culture because the repercussions of the culture is immediate and fatal. |

Spiritualism: Re: I Will Be in Senate for Life - Bukar Ibrahim
By Ifeanyi Emeka
The slant given to the humble, appreciative and simple expression made on the flour of the Red Chamber of the Nigerian National Assembly by the Senator representing Yobe East Senatorial District, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim by some media houses is very uncharitable, inciting and unbecoming of a media house that worth it's name.
While some media houses titled it: ''I'II be in Senate for Life - Bukar Ibrahim,'' others captioned it: ''I will only leave the Senate when I die - Ex-Governor Ibrahim.'' All these screaming headlines and sensational interpretations are far fetched from what the distinguished Senator said while making his contributions on the flour of the Senate.
Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim being a humble and simple Senator of the Federal Republic appreciatively said: ''We are very greateful to God and to all Nigerians . Let me categorically say Mr. Senate President, that Insha Allah meaning if God permits, I will stay in the Senate until death do us apart.''
Is there anything too difficult to understand in what the distinguished Senator said?
But some media houses reported it as if the Senator is arrogant and unappreciative to God and Nigerians for the opportunity given to him to represent them.
In the same vein, the media reported the story out of context with the intention to incite the people against the Senator.
Senator Bukar Abba was only speaking in the context of appreciation to God and Nigerians. That was why he appreciatively read his profile from nursery to primary school, from secondary school to university education level as well as his political career from commissioner to governor and from governorship to the Senate.
The event that warranted the discussion was Nigeria's 57th independence anniversary which was as a result of Nigeria gaining her independence from the Great Britain on 1st October, 1960. So, while celebrating Nigeria at 57 as well as her prospects in the future, the distinguished Senator also celebrated his birthday in advance because he was also born on 1st of October 1950 about 10 years before Nigeria gained her independence.
Hence, he was also expressing his prospects in the years to come if God permits and that was why he subjected everything thereof to the will of God Almighty.
But the media mischievously interpreted it to mean something else.
The question is, is there anything wrong in expressing one's prospects in life? Or is it because it is coming from Most Distinguished Senator Bukar Abba?
Besides, in America we have people who have been in the Senate for many years. For example, late Senator Edward Kennedy from Massachusetts was in the United States Senate for 46 years; from 1962 until he died in 2009.
Senator Patrick Leahy from Vermont has been in the Senate for 42 years; from 1975 till date. Senator Thad Cochran from Mississippi has been in the Senate for 38 years; from 1978 till date.
Senator Joe Biden from Delaware was in the Senate for 36 years; from 1973 - 2009 before he was sworn-in as Vice President to former President Barrack Obama.
Senator Mitch McConnell from Kentucky has been in the Senate for 32 years; from 1985 till date.
The last person out of many United States Senators I want to mention is a maverick Senator from Arizona, Senator John McCain, the man who ran for the Office of the United States President against former President Barrack Obama in 2008. He has been in the Senate for 30 years now; from 1987 till date.
Therefore, the case is really about political experience and service to the people and not otherwise as the enemies of distinguished Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim would want the world to believe.
They should therefore stop the cheap blackmail and get serious with the task of making Nigeria great again.
Ifeanyi Emeka writes from Lokoja

aiyele200: Hi Nlanders,
Good morning and happy weekend. I am posting this due to the fact that my patience and understanding is being taken for granted by my wife. 6 years already into this marriage, disobedience and unfaithfulness in terms of not being straightforward with me has been the order of the marriage, though a times, the woman changes for good, then later she starts again.
One sunday afternoon after returning back from church, she quickly rushed to me saying she wanted to go and drop her sister at the hospital since the first malaria treatment she had didnt work. I asked where the hospital is, said somewhere in gbagada, knowing fully well that my wife does not know gbagada well, and knowing well also that she was going with the kids, I volunteered to drop them off, but she kept mute, and her body language showed that she didnt want me to drop them off. So I said, plz be careful, gave her money to branch at the filling station to top up the fuel in the car.
On their way going, I got hungry cos lunch was not prepared b4 they left, I decided to rush down to the nearest eatery to get sumtin to eat, on entering my own car, figured out my fuel was low, so I decided to go to the filling station. On getting there, I was packed at my wife's car, she was actually standing beside the passenger side which is weird, cos she was the one that drove off, I looked at the drivers side, and I could see a man's head. So my wife came to meet me, said she just paid for fuel, they are leaving now, at that time, I was expecting her to at least explain who the person at the drivers seat was, with my kids in the car oooo!!! She just went straight to the passenger side and closed the door. I was really stunned and surprised.
I pressed the horn for her to come down, soon as she came down, she immediately said, oh i forgot to ask you if it was ok for Segun to drop us at the hospital, I was like why, she said because he seems to know the place. Funny thing is, this guy I have never met before, but she has told me about him b4 and I know him as the guy that loans she and her sister money when urgent funds are needed. So she called the dude down from the car, introduced him proper and I asked them to leave. A lot of people will sure blame me for allowing someone I dont really know to drive my family to a location, but at that moment I was still stunned because to me it was the highest level of mistrust and disappointment, so I could not take a drastic move @ that moment. They left, and the same guy dropped them off.
That night, I called my wife and sat her down, that I need an explanation on how the whole scene played out, cos I volunteered to go and drop you guys, u didnt answer me, and all of a sudden, I am seeing another man whether known or unknown person in the car with my kids without u telling me b4 u left the house that someone was going to drive u guys. She responded saying, to be sincere, they had plans seeing the guy at the bus stop to discuss loan, but she decided to have the guy drive them since he knows the hospital and since he is a man. I was like fine, but when u came to meet me, I thought u were supposed to tell me who was in the car, instead u walked off, she said actually I forgot, that it was the moment that u pressed the horn that I realized I was suppose to ask u if it was ok for segun to drive us. Oh well, they say communication is key in marriages, I will not say she was lying, thought I know something dont add up, so I moved on.
But the damn thing that really got me worried was that, few days to that very day, I noticed her being worried and soliloquizing, asked her what the problem is, claimed that its the money she lent last from the segun guy which she has not been able to pay is what is worrying her, that the dude has been askeing her for the money since it has elapsed the paying time. With that alone, it gave me a worrying thought that, it was the same guy that I ended up seeing on code @ d filling station driving my family off.
Nlanders, sorry for the long epistle, if I dont explain well, you guys wont understand in details, for the married guys and ladies, whats your take on this issue? Does something really isnt adding up?
Thanks! To me this does not add up. your wife borrows money for what purpose and from a man you never met or understand his source of income. For me first is to stop your wife borrowing funds from the guy and tell her to stop seeing him. Why does she nor bring you into the negotiation when she wants to borrow money? My people say na from clap e dey enter dance . If I may ask the money your wife borrow is for what? |
