Chibuking81: That's good information. Please as am going on invitation to spend my vacation, which I gave the details of whom am visiting and his address and phone number, did I still need invitation later from him to go along with on my interview day?. Yes but they may not check it... in short it's not really important because it can be written by anybody. |

oluayebenz: Don't mind some people with their assumption. Embassy check applicants Facebook lol How many people is even using their real name on FB You seems to out of tune with smart AI and algorithms... Your email address, phone number, names, picture and ip addresses can be used to trace your social media account, we can't blame people who dedicate their lives in making things better for the citizen for our shortcomings. Starting later this year U.S/Canada/UK and Australia will be using social medias activities in deciding visa application and issuance. Meanwhile, over here in Nigeria, we're asking if something they've been using for the past 5 yrs is possible because you're not using your real names. |

vibrant99: Please i need enlightenment on this argument please...
The Wife has her mom and her siblings living in the USA....
The Husband is travelling for a business trip( not related to the family of the wife), and in the Application form where he has to "fill in family members in USA", what is he going to fill?
Note that the man has no family Members in the USA except the Wife's!
Is he now going to fill the Family Members of his wife or say NO?
Urgent Reply needed please, before a mistake is made! Hope they're living in U.S legally. |

Chibuking81: I don't think it has K- Leg, because from the heading of the page as seen in the attached form, Titled Family relatives, with explanation of been Biological Parents, or adoptive parents. Since I don't have any of the both in US, but my extended family relation, I will bring in the point of having extended family relation during the interview, which I filled in the form been the person that am going to spent by vacation in his place , through his invitation.
The question and answer will go like this, VO: Do you have a family relation in US. ME: Of the immediate relation NO, but of the extended family relation YES, and that's whom am visiting.
Main while, I believed so much in God with prayer. Because through prayer with my faith and trust in him, he can do all things. They won't bother asking that is the problem. |

Chibuking81: Since I am been invited by my relation from my kindred, who is a Roman Catholic priest based in USA, do I need anything like invitation later from him, to go to embassy on my appointment date?
Again when I was filling the form, he gave me his address and details which I filled in the form been his place and his location where am going, on the relationship with him, I put my relative. But in the Parents biological relatives. On the questions whether any of my immediate relations lived in America, I answered no, and the second question whether any other of my relation live in America, I was ask to answer no too based on his advice, on the ground that I don't have biological relation from my parents over there. Hope that is the right answer and it doesn't contradict the first answer of visiting my relation? Am asking because the Rev. Fr am visiting based on his invitation is from my kindred, which we both shared the same biological great grand parents. Hnmmmmm this one get K-Leg but if I was in your situation I will say yes and tell the V.O about sharing the same biological great grand parents with clear explanation. |

Teshoma11: Okay. So my time was for 10am this morning. I got there at 8.50am. There was no crowd at all today, right from the gate where they do the checks till I got inside.
Immediately I got in, I was directed straight for biometrics, as there was no queue. After the biometrics, I was praying there would be a little queue so I can atleast rehearse in my head before I am called upon. Lol. But no, immediately after biometrics, I was directed to an empty counter straight for the interview.
Below is the transcript: A white guy on glasses attended to me. VO: Good morning Me: Good morning *with a smile* VO: Can I have your passport? Me: Hands it over VO: Why do you want to go to America? Me: I will be going on my annual leave, so would use that opportunity to spend it with ...... (a family, they are family friend) VO: How long have you known them? Me: I have known them for over 10years VO: Where do they stay? Me: ........ US VO: How long are you staying? Me: 14days VO: Where do you work? *he is typing * Me: I mentioned where I work, and what I do together. VO: Have you travelled out before? Me: Yes, been to the Uk severally since 2010, dubai twice, Kenya and Ghana. *he is also flipping through my passports and checking. VO: Are you single or married? Me: Single VO: Any kids? Me: No *He continues typing* *keeps my passport on the box beside him, and brings out the white paper. Pick up at the circled location...bla bla. Me: Thank you... Leaves there, with a wide grin.
I got in at 9.30 and by 9.45 I was out. Even before my 10am time. Interview itself took about 5mins. Congrats.... when last did you traveled out of Nigeria? |

OmoBendel24: Culled from QUORA
What should I absolutely not do when visiting the USA?
Overall the US is a pretty laid-back country and welcoming to foreign visitors. You’re not likely to offend people as long as you try your best to be polite. However, by following the tips below you can ensure the smoothest visit possible:
Don’t look grumpy or sulky. Americans smile a LOT! A friendly smile, eye contact and a firm handshake when you meet someone new will help you make a good impression. Outside the big cities, it’s normal to smile and say “hi” to strangers, and stop to chat with people you know.
If you visit the US, I hope you have an amazing time exploring this wonderful country! Feel free to send me a message with specific questions and I will try to help.

My question is that shld the invitation letter carry his wife former surname or the Guy's surname AND while filling the visa application form, shld she fill her former surname or the husband surname. A quick response will be much appreciated I see no problem at all.... if her maiden name is on her passport that should be the name she should be addressed with. |

These people are extorting us. Why must I pay the fee first before you determine if I'm qualified at this time or not. Didn't you see my form before? When Americans applied for Nigerian Visa, it is pay before service too. |
