sholsy: Hey! Not sure if the VO would look at or rely on those documents. It is inconsequential. Anyway, do as the spirit leads you. I think they will check just for confirmation purpose in his own case because parent going for graduation is normally one of the easiest visa to get. |

Dejavu31: Good afternoon Mr Seyewest, what of a lecturers going for an academic conference for three days at Havard medical school Bro anybody can get U.S Visa but you must have a very good ties (Havard Invited Conference included) weigh your pros against your cons honestly and work on how to present yourself to the V.O without deceit. Good luck. |

Sparkle1515: Still a hasty generalization..who told you? Where are your facts and figures?do you work at the embassy ?did the embassy tell You this?are you a VO? I know so many HMos workers,Telecom workers, media workers, private coy, yahoo boys who have travelled and didn’t returned..stop this baseless assumptions You still don't get it... U.S is really not mad at Nigerians staying behind in U.S but those that will enter U.S and move across the border to Canada (US and Canada shares info about applicant now) If you do your research very well even though I'm not V.O but I'm privy to a lot of these information and I can tell you categorically that between 2015-17 Nigerian bankers crossed U.S border to Canada then any other profession. Banker don cast... ask around and look around... how many bankers get B1/B2 nowadays. |

stevewale: K1 visa is a legit visa for migration to the States ... You should have invited her yourself and state the your wife would be responsible for the expenses (probably because you aren’t working then) instead of having your cousin or wife inviting her.
I’m a citizen and went through K1 too, making good 6 figures in IT field but they still denied my mum visa so I honestly don’t know what those VOs are looking at.
I’d suggest you do what @seyewest suggested you make a copy of your visa page and green card so she can just display it to the VO on that glass even if he/she won’t collect or request documents from her.
I’m re-inviting my mum again in few weeks time and I will come over just to escort her to the embassy (I know I won’t be let in but maybe that would boost my mum’s moral a little bit haha) photocopying my passport page and wife with kid’s own along with tax returns to give to her o. Haha we die put this time oo lolz.
If it doesn’t work out this time around, then I will resort to filling for her.
Guys do you think if she mentioned that I was in Nigeria 4 times last year to visit her will increase her chances? Yes of course na die there ooo (Give her enough document)... insist on following her inside or get in touch with the embassy before the interview. |

Sparkle1515: What kind of generalization is this??simply say people can not be trusted..so many bankers have travelled and returned Bankers are part of the reason why we're in this mess in the first place... do your research and you will understand what I'm talking about... by the way they hardly give any banker not in Management level visa nowadays. |

mynameisnoname: please i'm still waiting for answers Let them apply together and you should send them a copy of your letter of admission, school ID Card, graduate list (Something to show you're truly graduating) and they should not spend more than 8 days as trip duration... they will like issue your parent the visa but I'm not sure about your brother... one more thing let your dad talk at the interview. |

gimakon: Wrong, because I haven't traveled in my life. The same thing I say here is already in my ds-160 and I will say on my interview day the same.. Don't have to lie. As you can see, I didn't state if it was a success or not not everyone travels but they get it. Sorry I meant dummy interview... As much as travel history is very important, it's not the only determinant and I will advise you to work on the rest of your ties... nothing is impossible. I apologize once again. |

pipz: My mum was denied a visa last year as we were not ready to invite her then and I’d not yet been approved of my GC. My cousin invited her and the consulate denied her stating “why isn’t your son inviting you” as my cousin had filled on the DS 160 that she had a son in the US. Fast forward to late last year, we decided it’s time we invite her as we now have a baby. People advised us my wife be the one to invite her since I’m yet to be approved GC, so we decided to start processing another appointment for her but could only secure a March 2019 date for appointment. Alas, I was granted a GC without being asked any question at the interview, coming from a K1 candidate. My question now is should I go back and edit and resubmit the DS 160 so to indicate I’m the one inviting her or just leave it to be my wife inviting. Thanks and I wish everyone a blissful 2019 Leave it the way it was and send her your GC document just incase and also tell her to chip it in during the interview. I'm sure she will get it this time around. |

Ejiroogidi: Good day all,I sent my passport in for renewal of my visa in December, passport was sent back with a 221g paper. I tried to schedule a follow up appointment and got a date this same January. On the 221g form,I was asked to bring my bills for child birth. The interview day came and we were 171 people for 8.05am appointment mainly 221g. It got to my turn and the VO asked my purpose for traveling and I said holiday. He looked at his computer and asked why how long I stayed in the us the last time and why I stayed for 2 months. I replied and told him, child birth. He asked to see evidence of payments. I started giving the receipts one after the other and explaining the receipts to him. He then told me that the average cost of birth in Texas is $33,000 and my hospital bill is showing way below that. He said taxpayers get to bear the burden of this underpayment and the government.
I then showed him the mail I sent Dr X when I took in and and the bills I was sent from both Dr X and HNWMC. I told him I paid what I was asked to pay and even have receipts for as little as passport photograph I took for the baby at the passport office. He smiled and continued typing. He asked what other countries I have been too and I told him,Canada,Uk,Spain,France,Germany,South Africa,UAE,Belgium etc. He asked what I do and what my husband does for a living? I told him. He asked who will be paying for vacation and I said my husband and i. He said,my visa has been granted and will be ready in 3 working days. I thanked him and left. wow... another angle to birthing. |

gimakon: I will be going for my visa Interview come March 6th this year, conference invitation though on Oil and gas, I have taken to memory the hotel, the address as well as the inviting party Invitation Information there in Texas. I am believing By the grace of God I will make headway, I have over 5 years of experience Working here in Nigeria, Not married... Now here comes my question.
If I am going for a Conference would the visa officer ask me Questions Relating to the Conference? I am a Solutions Architect / Software Developer and I am going for an Oil and gas conference. We have built some Automated Projects for Some oil and gas companies too, and I stated it in my DS-160. Again, At the University, We did borrow courses for Engineering and that's how I came to understand this course as well, Though not 100 %, its a borrowed course - Remember.
What do you think, I am already studying about the Technology and Naval Architecture. Advise needed. Do you have travel history? |

slydog: Lol, thank you.. Its determination I guess, I did both MSC and PhD as a banker. I'm a marketer, so I always had a way of going for "marketing", then I find myself in sch, really wasn't easy though. At the PhD level it became challenging given that my bank ran into murky waters. Stress of marketing plus PhD plus threat of job loss and its attendant insecurities, my colleagues even graduated before me, mehn at 30 I have serious grey hairs..... But it was worth it at the end. Intend leaving banking, so I need this conference to give me a head way into academic. I will be getting the invite letter from the conference organisers next week hopefully, the conference is for June this year. I'm very sorry ooo but I think your intention is to leave the country for good upon getting the visa.... Hope you're not offended oooo |

The obvious question from the VO is to ask you what value would the conference add to your bank work. If you can give a convincing answer, you might stand a chance. Not sure the VO would be interested to hear about "budding academic". Unfortunately Bankers can not be trusted. |

kaampe1: Good day house, Pls I would like to know how good my chances are in getting a us visa. I want to apply soon. I actually want to take my children on a vacation. Ages 10,8 and 4months currently. I am a business owner and I earn an average of 1mil monthly. My husband is currently in the US (3months now) and will be back next month. I have no travel history but I choose us because most of the products I deal in I buy from there so this looks like a good opportunity to see new products and my daughters long dream is to visit Disney world and again is it better to get an invitation or should I just apply without. Your honest opinions will be appreciated. Thanks all Kindly note that am sponsoring the vacation Why is your husband in US for 3 months? |
