jamoyakz:That's actually for the US petitioner as proof of income level. The Nigerian beneficiary does not need any tax clearance. |
jamoyakz:Tax clearance? From? |
Chapecoense:Sure. You can always use a joint sponsor. Although, I think the income requirement is not difficult to meet. |
K1 Visa Requirements. Some of these have been stated before, this is just to reiterate. Not everyone will meet the K1 visa requirements. These are the main k1 visa eligibility requirements, but every petition is different. USCIS and consular officers are different and some countries may have additional requirements. 1. The petitioner of a K1 visa must be a United States Citizen 2. Both the petitioner and beneficiary must be legally free to marry 3. The petitioner and beneficiary must convince USCIS agents and consular officers that the relationship is “bona fide”, and that they truly intend to marry within 90 days of entry. This is to avoid fraud from scammers marrying U.S. citizens for the sole purpose of immigration. 4. The couple must prove that they have physically met in person at least once within the last 2 years. This doesn’t mean they need to know each other for 2 years, just that within the last 2 years, they have met. Whatsapp or Skype calls don't count. 5. Meet the income requirement. The K1 visa counts on the U.S. petitioner’s financial ability. They must meet the minimum income requirements, or use alternatives to meet the requirement. |
LegitBachelor:Ha! Me I don't know o. Maybe peeps that have applied for two different types of visas can help. |
Additional info on the K1 Visa. 'A K-1 visa is a visa issued to the fiancé or fiancée of a United States citizen to enter the United States. A K-1 visa requires a foreigner to marry his or her U.S. citizen petitioner within 90 days of entry, or depart the United States. Once the couple marries, the foreign citizen can adjust status to become a lawful permanent resident of the United States (Green Card holder). Although a K-1 visa is legally classified as a non-immigrant visa, it usually leads to important immigration benefits and is therefore often processed by the Immigrant Visa section of United States embassies and consulates worldwide.' (Wikipedia) 'K1 Visa Process 1. USCIS Filing: The United States citizen sponsor files the K1 visa petition with the USCIS by mailing the completed I-129F petition package along with a check to the Department of Homeland Security. 2. Notice of Action 1 (NOA1): Two to three weeks after mailing your petition, you will receive a notice of action (NOA1) indicating the USCIS has received your petition. 3. Notice of Action 2 (NOA2): Usually (currently), between 5 and 7 months after mailing your petition, you will receive a notice of action (NOA2) indicating the USCIS has approved, denied or requests additional evidence for your petition. If approved, you do nothing at this step. If you are denied, (end of story, marry your partner and file for a spousal visa). If you receive an RFE, you need to respond to it with the evidence requested. 4. NVC Phase: The service center that handled your petition forwards your case to the State Department’s NVC (National Visa Center). This will happen within two weeks of your approval. The NVC will run a security check on your fiance. 5. NVC to Embassy: If your fiance’s security check comes back clean, your approved K1 visa petition will be routed to the Bureau of Consular Affairs. The Bureau of Consular Affairs will send your file to the U.S. Embassy in your fiance’s country via DHL. 6. Embassy Letter: After receiving your visa petition, the U.S. Embassy (usually in the country of origin) sends the fiance a letter with instructions for scheduling the medical exam and interview. 7. Gather Embassy Documents: The U.S. Embassy will instruct the fiance to return some of the documents immediately. Other documents will be kept until the interview. 8. Medical Exam: The fiance must have a medical exam. The package sent to the fiance by the U.S. Embassy will explain how to schedule the medical exam. 9. Embassy Interview: The fiance must attend an interview at the U.S. Embassy. All applicants must bring their passport, including children of all ages. If children are joining on a K-2 visa, they must also attend the interview. 10. Visa Issued: If approved, there will usually be a wait of up to one week. The visa will be delivered via courier. 11. Travel to U.S.: The fiance has 6 months to use the visa to enter the United States. He or she will be given a package of documents by the U.S. Embassy which he or she will surrender at the Point of Entry (POE) into the United States. 12. Wedding: The petitioner must marry the alien fiance within 90 days of entry into the United States. If a wedding doesn’t take place within this time, the fiance must leave the United States. The 90 day clock starts on the date you enter the United States, which is normally stamped in your passport. The K1 visa beneficiary can only marry the person who submitted the petition. Eventually the alien must file an adjustment of status petition to receive the green card.' (RapidVisa) |
slimturay:Taking pictures together is the strongest evidence though. That shows there is an ongoing relationship and the visit was to meet the fiance(e). As many pictures as possible at different locations. It can't be too much. |
slimturay:The requirement is to meet at least once within two years prior to filing the petition by the USC fiance(e). The time together can hold anywhere but it's important to document with pictures and receipts of places visited together. Flight tickets and boarding passes is also good evidence. Be careful with having a formal introduction though as that may be considered as being married which will disqualify the applicant from getting the K1 visa. |
slimturay:The outcome of a US non immigrant visa does not affect your chances of getting a K1 visa if you qualify. However, if you lied in your past visa applications, it may count against you and can lead to a denial. |
abbey503:Please share your interview transcript. |
ntyce:Same situation. Stated he was attending a particular training on a particular date. Did not attend that one but went for the next run of the same training about 7 months later. |
jason02:Wow. That's a new one. I know someone that travelled 7 months after his original travel time although for the same event and there was no issue. |
OmoBendel24:Unfortunately, i do not have the data to answer your question but clearly the % of successful applications for non immigrant visas have dropped significantly. My point is....getting a US visa is more difficult than it used to be (I think everyone knows that already). Genuine applicants are being denied for various reasons including the reason you mentioned. Chances of getting a B1/B2 visa is slimmer than it was last year. I am not asking applicants(genuine or fake) not to apply (is it my money?). I am only passing information based on my observations and i believe aside the usual requirements needed to get a visa, there is a deliberate policy to reduce the number of visas issued. |
ayenikunle:Of course people are getting visas. Question is.......what is the percentage of successful applications? |
ayenikunle:I know a company who's staff has never been refused a visa to the US for a training up until 2017. This year, they have bounced 3 of their staff for the same training. |
abnot:I am asking where you got your 50% from. Do you have info on number of applications Vs number of visas granted? Your link doesn't state that. |
abnot:You have evidence of the bolded? 50% seems quite high and not in tandem with reality. |
seyewest:We have been waiting for your POE story for days now. When it's not game of thrones. |
LadyGuinivere:Anyone? It would be nice to hear some success stories. |
mane48:Ibadan embassy..... |
AZUH:Oga.... go and sleep. You don't know jack about US visa processing and interview. |
I had planned visiting Qatar on holiday in the nearest future but I don't think I will ever visit Qatar again. No need wasting my money, their immigration can be unreasonable at times. Also, I will never fly Qatar airways again. I will rather fly Emirates. So I visited the US Las month and booked my flight with Qatar airways. Since the stopover took over 8 hrs, Qatar airways gave me a complimentary accommodation. The accommodation could either be inside the airport (no need for entry visa) or in DOHA town (an entry visa would be obtained for me by the airline) depending on availability. The first leg to the US was smooth. Got to Doha and an accommodation was gotten in town so an entry visa was obtained. I preferred an hotel in the airport as it would increase my resting time. The issue came with the second leg on my way back to Nigeria. I asked for an hotel inside the airport cause I was tired and did not want the stress of long transportation to town but was told they already reserved one in town. So after over 45 mins, a Qatar airways official comes and says their immigration did not grant me an entry visa. I was mad. On what basis? Because I am on my way to Nigeria? It did not just make sense to me. Oya, give me a hotel in the airport, I don't need an entry visa for that....the official said they didn'thave a reservation for me in the airport. Bottomline, I had to look for a chair to sleep and rest for the next 9hrs. So I have made up my mind. No more Qatar airways and no holidays in doha ever..... except of course the World Cup in 2022. If I want to holiday in the Middle East, I will do UAE. If I want to fly a Middle Eastern airline, I will fly Emirates. |
Originalsly:Lol. I saw this girl. There were two of them. People paying to take pictures. Was surprised they made more money than one other guy playing a musical instrument nearby.
|
Was in NYC last month. Stayed in Hampton Inn Manhattan / Times Square South and visited lots of nice places. By the way.....there's filth on some streets in NYC. No be only Mushin dey dirty.

Meaning Nigerians alone account for over 3%. This is huge. Now we know why they have become ruthless when dealing with visa applications from Nigeria. |
niyirov:Congratulations. This Canada questions keep coming up. |
OmoBendel24:Thanks... Just checked. It's actually Jan 20, 2019 on the website. That's 6 months. |
TheEnforcer:I am telling you. Till 20 Jun 2019. Maybe he meant to write Jan. But it does not really matter. I am out in August. |
So I touched down on Washington Dulles International Airport yesterday (July 21, 2018). Background: This is my first trip to the United States. I was a little bit worried before leaving Lagos on Friday because I got my visa last November and was meant to travel last December for a training at a university in DC. I could not make that trip in December so I decided to come for the next run this July. My firm was to sponsor the trip in December. However, I resigned from the job in April to start out on my own. So, I was a bit worried that my job situation had changed and I would be sponsoring myself on the trip as against my former company which was stated at the visa interview. Also, I had mentioned at the interview that I would be staying for 8 days but now I planned to stay for 3 weeks. Trip: I flew with Qatar and arrived Washington Dulles at about 3.45pm local time after flying for 13hrs from Doha. The queue at the immigration was so long. I estimated almost 1000 people on the line. I was on the queue for about 2hrs. The interview: Interview lasted barely 2 minutes. CBP officer: What are you here for? Business or pleasure? Me: Business CBP officer: What business? Me: I am here for a training at xxxxx school of business. CBP officer: How long are you staying? Me: Three weeks CBP officer: Hope you are not planning to go cross the border to Canada? Me: I bursted into laughter CBP officer: You are laughing.... A lot of people are doing that. Me: Yes, I have heard a lot about that. CPD officer: Don't do it they will send you back. Enjoy your stay. Stamps me in for 1YEAR till June 2019. I had always assumed maximum was for 6 months. Me: Thank you. My training is for 1 week, I will stay additional 2 weeks exploring the US. I plan to visit DC, Maryland, New York, Houston, Milwaukee and Chicago. I will be back in Lagos by God's grace on August 12, 2018. |
I absolutely agree. It is disrespectful to upload someone's corpse on social media. When i lost my spouse, her sister wanted to take pictures of her corpse on two occasions but i stopped her. I found it disrespectful and totally unnecessary. I specifically made sure no one (including myself) had any picture of her dead body. |
