My younger brother was diagnosed with HIV when he applied for a stidy visa to canda. Fortunately, he was granted the visa. However he is yet to get health insurance in Canada. I intend traveling there soon and they are asking that I come with his drugs.
Please advise. Can I travel with ARV drugs on his behalf? Are there risks associated?

Pity yourself if you think this white powerder sniffing S.O.B have your interest at heart. Naira will continue to depreciate perpetually for obvious reasons. Dialpad: Not possible, these BDC cannot meet the demand of Nigeria based on the $20k weekly by CBN.
So if I want to travel and I need $15000, where will I get the cash ?
Will aboki sell the entire amount at government approved rate or how will it work.
The people I pity most are those that hurriedly purchased between 1400 and 1800 with the hope that it will hit 2500.
They didn't consider that the government will fight back. |

Properties › Re: Urgent! Should I Allow My Tenant Bury Her 1 Year Old Daughter In My Compound? by Sheffieldconsul: 11:12am On Feb 21, 2024 |
Let them go and bury at Port Harcourt cemetery. Why would you bury another person's baby in your compound? DSS1335: A very good young woman whom her husband abandoned last year lost her 1 year old child this morning. They jovial baby was very healthy on Sunday, by Monday morning, the baby was suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. According to the mum, she was prescribed pediatric antibiotic Amoxicillin along with antimalarial (Lonart susp), paracetamol syrup and Rophegan. I was alarmed on why she gave her child Rophegan 5ml, normally this antiemetic drug is not recommended for children under 2 years of age. Unfortunately this early morning the child was gasping for breath while crying loudly and died few hours later.
The issue now is that she is from far away east. She doesn't want to travel home. I have a very large space in my compound, and want to bury the child there. I consulted my kins, they objected it that I should never allow such to happen that it's against our tradition. That a child should be buried in his father's home or public cemetery. This tenant have already made up her mind to Park out few months after her rent expires due to the scandals of separating from her husband. Should I go ahead and allow her or alternatively raise funds for her to travel to the east to bury the child there. Though she isn't forthcoming with my alternative.
N/B I am of Rivers state, Ikwerre to be precise, the lady from Umuahia
Update: The mother of the lady came late in the afternoon from Abia state and pleaded I should allow them bury the baby in my compound. After considering some notable advice from here coupled with the warning from my kinsmen, I declined. The lady's mother contacted their branch pastor and they made arrangements to bury her in a place provided by their church. Later this evening the woman came back insulting my family that we are very wicked for not allowing their baby to be buried in my compound. If not for the sympathy I had for the mother mourning her loss, I would have lost my cool. This was the same woman responsible for the breakdown of her daughter's marriage. After marriage, she came to live with the new couple who parked into my apartment newly. Instigating her daughter against her husband. Using her daughter as a proxy to siphon off her husband's wealth, a Dubai-based businessman. Controlling the man forcefully, preventing him from socializing with others because of her insecurity complexes. The last straw that broke the marriage was when the lady and her mother teamed up to lock the husband indoors for 4 days and transferred all his money to the wife's account. That whenever he needs his own money, he should tell the wife. In short, the marriage broke down irreconcilably and the husband relocated to another state and never came back, he was neither interested in the child that was born 3 months after nor care to inquire about their wellbeing |

Dump her and dump her fast!! Her mentality will be a serious burden to your future endeavors! Dump her now and find a suitable high value woman. My wife bought me a valentine gift almost a week before valentine without knowing if I'll get her anything or not. Supremedrizzy: Women can be really funny at times and take frivolous things serious. My girlfriend came around to stay with me for a while, so she was kinda of expecting that we would celebrate Val or stuff but unfortunately I am low on funds cos I just settled some bills earlier this month.
After work today, I just bought only 1k palm wine because we enjoy taking it together, but I observed she was a bit moody. I just faced my front cos I had just 5k on me and I still have about 2weeks to go till the next pay day so I am being very prudent with it.
She kept making side comments about how other ladies would be receiving gifts from their boyfriends by now and other sarcastic talks. She lager opened up this night about how today is her worst val ever and it's more of a haters day for her. I told her to calm down, after all we have celebrated Val for the past two years very well so she shouldn't be upset about us not going out today. She insisted that it's not about us going out but I couldn't even get her fish or meat, I simply told her that I can't afford anything now and she's been giving me the cold shoulder. |

This is a terrible work place! A "proper company, firm, organization or whatever, have a salary structure or pay scale. Your salary will be inline with that pay scale, regardless of what your salary expectations are or the answer you give to that question. It is either you're cooking up this story or you're in a sh*tty firm. Jackanda1: I recently applied to work in an organisation.
After passing the interview and checks, the management was impressed and decided to hire and give me a major role in the company.
When i asked about the payment for my position, they threw me a popular question; HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD PAY YOU?
I gave them a figure in mind, a little above what i got in my former job. Their facial expression was 'WoW'.
I started work on tuesday and after making friends and chating the secretary, i found out that i earn twice less than the staffs in the company in the same position.
Infact, i earn a little more than the gateman and cleaner. The secretary even earns more.
Its my fault, should have done some checks on the strength and salary structure of the firm before applying.
I feel discouraged. With this information, i won't be able fuction properly. Plus this secretary with her loud mouth will spread the news in the company, making me feel worst.
Anyone with this experience? Please console me. |

Nonsense!! I'm not a broke man yet I didn't even spend up to 500k to buy baby things for my boy. Stop encouraging people to be wasteful. larryUG: Baba, I spent close to a million for my baby stuff. What you need to understand is that baby things are generally very costly. Secondly, escalation has taken a toll on the prices of things . It seems a lot of people have not taken into account the effect of the naira losing value in the economy I gave my wife 350K initially but she bought wasnt substantial. She added her money and i gave her additional. BEd alone is 170k-200k depending on the quality. Breast pump (for when your baby my not have the mum around) is 50k in the market. just these 2 items have taken 220-250K out of your 400K. now talk about feeding bottles, diapers, clothes (there are several types your baby will need), Powder/soaps, baby oils, shoes, other stuff, wardrobe alone for kids na 120K. Why are you worried about a visa application that was denied in 2005? Have your circumstances not changed since 2005? Make a fresh application, acknowledge the refusal and if they ask, state why you were refused. Except ban as a result of fraud , etc. I don't see why you're fretting about visa denial! Apart from supporting documents and visa officer following guidelines, the rest is subjective and circumstantial. infofta: I applied for a visitors visa in 2005 and was refused based on family ties in the country I was supposed to visit. My question is how long does the embassy keep record of visa denials? I heard there is an immigration record retention period of six years. How true is this? Valuable inputs from experts needed. |

This is an inpermanent lost. I bought 6k USDT this evening. Next stop is #2k per $. Ebola Ahmed is sending the country to the Abyss! Athena6: Last week I created a thread talking about how my japa plans have been crushed due to the increase in dollar.
Many adviced me to invest in dollar, this was the advice they gave me months ago but I did follow through because I wasn't sure. My last thread hit front page and 90% of the comments were advising me to invest in dollars, one even quoted that in the past 10 years, the dollar haven't fallen but it increases every year.
One even called me a weak minded person and I am scared to take risks. After everything I thought to myself, since so many people felt this dollar will keep on rising, maybe I should invest afterall life is all about risks.
Well guess what, dollar have decreased, I invested 3M in buying dollars and now in today exchange rate. I have 2.6M now and I either cash out now or hope it will increase.
Right now, I am very angry. Those giving me advice should come and contribute the 400k for me o
Another thing, do you think the dollar will increase or should I just cut my loses. I am so tired 😫 |

Reading the responses in this post, you will know that Nigerian are the most abused and damaged set of people in the world. Why this whole trust issues ?? Damm... You people are f**king malignant and poor in reasoning. Everything in life is not about money and inflicting pains on people that have made mistakes. Back in 2015 I caused a damage of over $30k at my place of work. I took responsibility, did drug and alcohol test and apologized. All I received was a written warning and that was it. Worked for another 5 yrs and moved on to another job. YourBestWriter: So I mishandled some information and costed the hospital that I work in a lot of money. I took the responsibility, approached the managing director and told him I accept the responsibility and ready to pay the prices. Surprisingly, the director went straight to his computer and immediately told me to go, that my sins are forgiven.
But what could this mean? Did he really forgive me just like that? I have a bad feeling about the entire thing. I mean, he didn't even show his anger towards me, and he was straightforward. |

Family › Re: My Mom Doesn't Appreciate Me. How Do I Handle This? by Sheffieldconsul: 8:55am On Sep 22, 2023 |
You cannot change who your mom is or her attitude towards you. However, you can work on how you reacts to things she says that hurts you. She might not be informed enough to understand that those things she's saying or doing are hurtful and affects your mental health. It is worth it tho, to engage in a candid conversation with her. In that conversation, bring up an example of what she has said to you and how that has affected you. She might be defensive and claim tough love, don't argue with her but stand firm on your points. After the candid conversation, observe her and if she continues, you can now deploy a stoic strategy. 1. Focus on you and your reaction towards what she is saying. Reason: she is who she is and her actions are beyond your control. You can't change her and you can't control her. However, you can train yourself to grow a thick skin towards whatever she says. You can even choose to subconsciously block out all those negativity and filter what you share with her. Lastly, if you don't want to hold any resentment towards her, you can choose too see it from a perspective of ignorance. That is, she doesn't know any better or it was how she was brought up and no body taught her any better. Focus on building yourself up rather than wasting your energy to change her. She won't change, she will rather be defensive. Na your mama sha, you know her better than us.
quote author=Undilutedme post=89449645]Hello nairaland family. I trust you guys are doing fine. I have a little problem and I need a piece of advise on how to handle it. I have a very wonderful mother. She's caring, sweet, compassionate, name all the good characteristics of a good woman, she's got all but there's this problem I'm still having with her. SHE NEVER APPRECIATES ME, NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY. My mom will never appreciate me for anything I do, even if she does, she does it nonchalantly like it doesn't matter. She compares me with friends at every slight opportunity she gets.
There was something that happened. Momsy travelled sometime around this year and stayed for close to two months and she has a shop that she manages. The shop's generator has been bad for sometime and it's really stressful for her selling with dim lights but she refused repairing it again because according to her, the generator is consuming her money because of too much repairs every time. So I wanted to surprise her, I called a friend that fixes generator to come help me fix it so when she comes she'll see that it has been fixed. My friend came and fixed it. When momsy came back and I told her that I fixed the generator for her, she told me that, she didn't send me to fix generator for her and that she is not going to use it. According to her "I send you make you fix gen?. I say I nor wan use the gen again". I swear I was really hurt.
On another occasion was during the just concluded UTME exam. My friends wrote before me, a friend of mine had 330 so I told her, she was very happy. She was like, I pray you get something like this. Fast forward, 3 days later, I wrote mine and result came out. I scored 314, when she came, just happily told her, instead of being happy, she just hissed and said "You nor fit get reach 330?". My spirit just died immediately. She likes comparing me with my friends.
There are many occasions things have happened but I'll not bore you with unnecessary talks. It's really eating me up emotionally and psychologically. How well can I make my mom appreciate me more?. How can I please her?.
Ps: Please nobody should throw insults at her. I beg you in the name of whoever you serve. Thanks.[/quote] |

Peter532: Hello all, My dad immediate elder brother who went to south africa in the 90s is back to drag their parents property claiming to be the first son.
This is someone who after he travelled only came back once and never bothered about the affair's of the family.
Their father my grandfather died 2005 he was no where to be found. my grand mother died 2018 still nothing from him.
No contributions whatever even while their parents was still alive.
He cut all sort of communications with them and now he's back to lay claim on the properties.
The family is angry but some of the elders in the extended family are getting on is side claiming he's still the senior he was never disowned but they can't say it out though.
It's obvious he came back with almost nothing and felt laying claims on their parent property is the back up plan
No will was written and some of the old buildings has been reconstructed from the scratch by my father and yet someone is laying claim on it.
I will like to know how this will go because my father is ready to fight this with his last strength and we the children are firmly behind him |
