Orunto: PDP is a god. Buhari is a dog. How can "Orisa", god be afraid of its underline? PDP can only fear APC and not an individual in it.
Well that's your opinion. But don't you think, your party have always been discussing Buhari for sometimes now. Why not Kwankwaso? Okorocha? Fashola? Et all.
It's glaringly clear. The fear of Buhari can be seen all over the PDP.

He is known as General Muhammadu Buhari, but I prefer to call him the people's general. This name rings bell in the ears of any politician, political analyst, etc. in Nigeria and beyond.
This man has been subject to criticisms for quite a long period of time for some reasons best known to those pointing accusing fingers at him.

The events of the past few weeks prompts me to ask: Why is the PDP afraid of Buhari?

Buhariphobia(The fear of Buhari )is now rampant and glaring as we approach the 2015 elections especially from the PDP members and sympathizers. But, the surprising thing is that, this same people claimed that the General doesn't stand a chance against them, but are clearly afraid of him.

They started with their propagandas that he was corrupt while in office with their popular "Suitcase case", but that has been proven to be false. They never stopped there, they went ahead to insinuate that Buhari is a dictator, and that he will likely deny us, the freedom we enjoy today, but they were educated that" The military era is so much different from the civilian era ".

As if that was not enough, they said that Buhari is an Islamist, a fanatic, and the most ridiculous of it" a boko haram sympathizer ", but they have been asked to come with proofs to defend this, but nothing at all. In fact they were schooled that out of the 3 times the general had contested, his running mates have been Christians ( in 2011 a pastor was also chosen by him as a matter of fact).

Still not satisfied, they said he is too old, to govern the nation and they have been told that it's not a matter of age but what you are ready to bring to the table. After all, many youths have fumbled woefully when given the chance to lead the nation.

It was never going to stop there after those their " anthems " against him have failed, they have now revised the stanzas of the anthems.

Just some months ago, when the general was attacked by terrorists, instead of these people to wish the general well, they went wide to ask how did he get the money to buy a bullet proof car, thinking that they have found a loophole in his credibility. But hey, it was never to be, as they were educated with facts as usual.
Again, as soon as kwankwaso declared his interest to run for the presidency, they were dancing azonto and saying that indeed a crack is brewing in kano APC(Forgetting the fact that, kano indigenes don't joke with Buhari).

Still yet, they were not tired of that. As soon as Atiku declared his interest too, they were wide with skelewu, and insinuating that now there's a war in APC( As buhari cannot stand the political sagacity of Atiku). I just can't laugh oooo.
Now talks of consensus or not is now their headache.

They have reached the peak of their phobia with them now asking of the general's source of income. Now, they are interested in knowing how much and how buhari earns his money. As if they were not aware that, he should be on the govt's payroll as a past head of state, and even without that, how will someone of his age, not have business that can be fetching him money. What of his children, family, friends etc. In fact, this is one of the most unreasonable criticisms i have heard from them. But wait, why didn't they ask of Ribadu's source of income in 2011.

Some even went to the extent of asking how he funds his campaigns (Hmm i laugh in swahili). Now, for the doubting Thomases i say: No body has the capacity to fund his election only ( even GEJ can't), Unless if you are a Big thief in Nigeria today. I even doubt it if MKO can do that today. So, elections are funded by party, friends, well wishers, supporters, organizations etc.
Some even said that if he's been funded by people, that means they want something in return, and we tell them that if it's so, GEJ is the number 1 culprit as he was funded by Dangote, Adenuga, Otedola, Dokpesi etc. So, GEJ is siphoning our wealth to pay these people back.

But despite all these, Buhari is yet to declare his interest, and they are so much afraid of him. No day, will pass by without pdp members castigating the general. We are now forced to ask:
Why is the PDP afraid of Buhari?
Why are they afraid of the 70 year old man?
Why are the afraid of the man who can only get the votes from the north?
Why are they afraid of the man who has always been "failing"?
Why are they afraid of the man who doesn't appeal to the youths? In fact I can go on and on.

Finally, all PDP members are expected to remain calm and continue doing what's right always and don't allow the fear of Buhari to kill them, before their party's eventual demise in 2015.

On a lighter mood:
Seun also suffers from Buhariphobia. But, as a progressive i am assuring him that we will always rally behind him and make sure this phobia doesn't consume him nor nairaland before and beyond 2015 as we all know the role this forum will play in deciding the Change we all envisage in 2015.

Tundeiab: it's obvious his intention for going was questionable. Over a million and one positive things that has taken place at SCOAN, did he bother to let the word know about it?

The Muslims would have done worse if they were the once affected...if possible religious riot would even erupt especially if a Christian journalist was trying to force his way into a mosque.
He said Christians are too secretive cos they erect fences to cover their activities. All the mosques in my area are fenced so I don't know what he was talking about.
I have been trying to avoid you before, but you're proving beyond reasonable doubt that you're unreasonable.
You're full of sentiments and biased in your thinking. What has the Muslims got to do with this. Do you think the reporter is a Muslim? Or because I posted the information here for all to see now means I am trying to turn it into a religious issue.
Your type of people are those who've helped this country in the way it's been managed badly these days.
You don't even understand what the reporter was saying(according to your last line) and you have the guts to talk trash.
So, because T.B.J have been doing good all these while(according to you), any thing contrary to that shouldn't be reported.
So, I see you, people should continue been maltreated and we should keep quiet because it's your pastor.

It's really appalling the way some people react to issues. Because I made a comment someone has the right to call me anti-Christ? You know that's an offense on nairaland which is punishable.
But come to think of it, especially those supporting the church here, isn't it illogical for the church to try to cover up what actually happened from the public? What's it that is been concealed from the public? And why should journalists be treated in that manner.
What's now happen to law and order?
If, church members can act against fellows who might even be of the same faith with them in the manner, the reporter stated. Hmm, There's God oooo

It's clear from what the reporter has said, that the police was totally doing the willing of the church instead of that of the country.

PoliticsReporter's Diary: How I Got Attacked At Synagogue Church by ShehuAba(op): 1:20pm On Sep 14, 2014
by Adedayo Ademuwagun

One of the buildings inside the premises of the
Synagogue Church in Lagos collapsed on Friday
afternoon . Dozens of people died and others were
injured.
After the collapse happened on Friday, church
members blocked the collapse site and prevented
journalists and officials from state agencies from
entering.

The members were violent. They assaulted
journalists and broke some of their equipment.
The Lagos State Building Control Agency
(LASBCA) boss, Abimbola Animashaun, and her
team were prevented from entering. Officials from
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency
(LASEMA) were also assaulted and prevented
from going in. The exact number of casualties still
cannot be ascertained.

On Saturday morning I was at the church to cover
the progress of rescue operations and find out
how things were getting on.
Inside the premises, dozens of church members
manned the gate leading to the collapse site and
barred anyone from going in or out except their
church members and essential rescue officials.
Myself, and journalists from organisations such
as STV, AIT, the Associated Press and others
waited outside the site for hours. The church
people on the ground were very aggressive and
refused to attend to us or let us do our job. It
was clear that they didn’t want journalists and
the rest of the world to know what was going on
in there.

There were many police cars parked around, from
the church entrance to the collapse site. The
police officers saw what the church people were
doing to the journalists and the officials from the
state agencies, but they just continued to look.
Personally, I approached some of the policemen
and challenged them to do something to stop this
unlawful action by the church people, but the
officers barely even looked at me.

Around 11 am, the DG of LASEMA, Femi
Osanyintolu, arrived at the church and promptly
agreed to address journalists. He was very
journalist-friendly. He confirmed to us that the
church members had been hostile to his men and
said his men were inside the site doing rescue
operations. He also said 17 people were dead
while 21 were in hospital as of 1 am Friday.
Meanwhile, there was a woman weeping on the
side-walk and murmuring about her relative who
was inside the building when it collapsed. She
didn’t know if the relative was dead or in hospital
or even still stuck under the rubble. Apparently,
no one had addressed families of victims. This
was 24 hours after the building collapse.
I asked the Mr. Osanyintolu if the relatives of
victims had been informed about what was going
on. He confirmed that no one had yet done this.
I and the other journalists demanded to be
allowed into the site.

The LASEMA boss reasoned
with us and tried to lead us and his men into the
site, but the church people manning the gate
repelled us. The LASEMA boss was furious and
ordered them to let him in, but they didn’t move.
The LASEMA boss IS the head of all emergency
operations in Lagos.
The boss turned back to meet the church’s
security chief to have a word with him. After
some time, they reluctantly agreed, but we were
again blocked at the gate to the site. The police
officers continued to watch.
Meanwhile, some young female officials of the
church were sending the DPO up and down the
walkway like their errand boy. We asked him why
he and his men are watching all this happen. He
murmured incoherently.
I asked one of the journalists from a TV station
why the police were acting like the Synagogue’s
police force when they ARE the Nigerian police
force. He replied, “He who pays the piper dictates
the tune.”

I looked at all the police cars. Nearly all of them
had this printed on them: Donated By Emmanuel
TV. Emmanuel TV is the media arm of the
Synagogue church.
Finally, we had to fight our way into the site,
following the DG’s lead. He wanted to try and
squeeze us past the thug-like youths who were
holding the gate viciously.
Some journalists made it in, but I stayed back for
a moment to record their militant behaviour. So
they attacked me and pulled me off the back of
the DG. He tried to pull my arm in, but we were
outnumbered. The police at this gate were
practically helping the church people keep us out
by force.

As the youths mobbed me and were going to beat
me, I appealed to the police officers looking at us
to help me. They didn’t say a word. The police
woman among them just hissed and walked
away. I could have been shot by those people.
But an old man among them intervened in the
nick of time and led me out of their way.
Later that afternoon, the head of the church TB
Joshua granted a press conference, where he
claimed that it was an aircraft hovering in the sky
that somehow caused that building to crumble.

Churches behaving badly
This Synagogue incident was the latest, not the
first, show of cult-like behaviour in churches in
Nigeria. Large churches in the country often work
like cults. They build walls around their activities
and try to keep the outside world from knowing
what’s going on inside. So even when the
government or the media tries to look into their
affairs, they grow aggressive.
Last year, some tax officers of the Ogun state
government went to the Winners Chapel church in
the state to demand unpaid taxes and do some
checks. Church members prevented them from
going in and attacked them.
This incident also shows that these large
churches in the country are so powerful that they
can molest people, break the law and do whatever
they like on their premises and no one, not even
the government, will take serious action against
them.

Some of my colleagues from the other media
houses were jotting down the names of the
policemen so that they could put it in the media.
They would not be the first to do that.
If things turn out well, they’ll put the names in
the media and then people would look at it and
say, “Oh, this is bad.” If things turn out REALLY
well, the details would go viral and then the police
force would find out and probably sack the
officers.

But that hasn’t quite changed anything so far. In
the past, there have been numerous YouTube
videos of police officers doing something wrong.
But things have effectively remained the same.
With what happened at the Synagogue on this
day, it will be very hard for me to continue to
trust the police to protect me or defend me in
future.

#Crazy FUNAAB has been keeping me waiting
Yes, you can get accommodation if only you get cleared early. The only hindrance to getting accommodation is clearance. in fact, if you pay early enough, and you don't get cleared, you won't be opportuned to apply for accommodation when it's available.

So, paying early is not proportional to getting admitted, what really matters is Clearance.
EducationWhat Got You Here Will Not Take You There by ShehuAba(op): 5:08pm On Sep 06, 2014
Life, they say is not a bed of roses, but to some
this is far from the truth, as they are in a world of
their own and succeed absolutely in whatever they
lay their hands on. Though it seems too true to
be believed, but it is a fact that cannot be denied.
I don’t want to bore you with stories of how life
screws us all, and that we sometimes end up not
getting what we actually planned for.

Now, let me ask you these sincere questions.
Have you ever imagined why it’s so easy for
some people to adapt to seemingly difficult
situations? Have you ever pondered on the reason
why that your dumb friend in secondary school
suddenly becomes the brightest in the higher
institution? Have you ever thought of how a
friend who you started hustling together suddenly
makes a breakthrough before you? Yes, you
started work before him, but he has now gotten
promoted but you are still dormant. You had a
very bright student friend while in your early years
in the university but he suddenly turned out to be
one of the poor upon graduation.

The fact is that, they did some things right while
you or some other people failed to. You might be
wondering what they did that you didn’t do, you
read together, you started business together, and
in fact you shared ideas together, you used to
teach him back then in secondary school, but
now he’s your oga at the top .
Surprising and Amazing isn’t it?

Okay, let me shock you the more. You might even
have worked harder than he did but, he worked
smarter. He learnt the golden rule to success
anywhere in the world early enough, yes, he
utilized an undermined tactic that: “What Got You
Here Will Not Take You There “. You heard me
right, or simply put: What got you into this
present state will not take you to the next state.
Yes, the things you did to succeed in your prior
role will not be the same thing that you will do to
succeed in this new role”

Are you doubting this tactic, Okay let’s take a
look at a case study which is applicable to
everyone (Including You). When, you were
probably in primary school you rarely read or
don’t do it at all except in few cases. But, on
getting to secondary school, things changed and
you started reading well even from junior classes.
When you climbed the ladder to senior secondary,
especially when you wanted to write your final
exams, you burnt the midnight candle. Then in
the university you had no choice but to read
wildly and carefully.
This is a must so as to remain among the best in
your class. Thus, it will be suicidal for any
student not to follow this laid down procedure, in
fact it will be detrimental to your success as a
student if you read in the university as you do in
secondary school. This is where the men are
separated from the boys; this is where some
people fail woefully while some excel
overwhelmingly. This is where a bright student
can suddenly become dumb, while the dumb
become bright. This is where that newbie friend
of yours in business can suddenly become your
boss.

Sadly, most people don’t apply this tactic in any
aspect of their lives and don’t get results. Don’t
be a mediocre that does same thing always and
expect a different result. Don’t expect a positive
change in your life when you don’t approach life
with the right attitude and mindset. The bitter
truth is that every situation requires a special
attention, and every problem requires a specific
solution. This tactic is useful in your studies,
career, job hunt, business, and in fact in your life,
never take it with levity and you will surely see
positive changes.

On a final Note:
I leave you with the words of Mr Niyi Yusuf, CEO
ACCENTURE NIGERIA Who in an interview with
Jarushub.com , explained how not learning this
tactic earlier enough almost cost him his studies
while in school, he said:
“I had a resit in Mathematics. I did not take the
resit exams and so carried it over into my 200
level. I was consistently the best student in my
secondary school, and so was confident about my
academic ability. I was also hardworking,
patient, prayerful and focus on the goal
(attributes I picked up from my mum while
growing up). I was fortunate to have another
uncle who just
graduated from UNIFE and who mentored me
about the need to change my style. I need to read
textbooks, practice past questions and attend
tutorial classes.
All 3 things I did not do in my first semester in
UNIFE as I did not need to do these 3 things
while in secondary school. All I needed to do in
secondary school was to attend classes, take
notes, and read my notes for the exams. These
were very sufficient, Later on in life, I read about
that basically says “what got you here, will not
take you there”. That is, the things you did that
made you to succeed in your prior role will not
be sufficient to make you succeed in this new
role. So, the things I did that led to success in
secondary school will not be sufficient to
guarantee me success in Great IFE. It was a
lesson I learnt the hardway”.

Over to You:
How well do you utilize this tactic? How much
has it helped you? Do you prioritize it in your
activities? And how has not doing it affected you?
Do have a nice read and share as usual.

Hi guys let me chip this in as par the clearance stuff.
Well, by now most peeps who paid and have uploaded will be expecting the clearance by now.
Clearance is so important that you can't do anything as a student except with it, talk of applying for school hostel, course registration, school fees payment etc.
So, any student who has not been cleared most at times are nervous (which is understandable).
Now, let me tell you this, some will be cleared early enough, some will take weeks, some even might be moved eventually.
The interesting part is that, those on second batch, can get cleared before you (Yes you heard me right).
In fact this happened to me particularly as some of my friends who I got admitted before were cleared with immediate alacrity, but I just had to wait. I even sent mails, visited comsit before getting eventually cleared.
So, I am not trying to scare you but just to let you know that you have to be patient and check your portal always, even sometimes you might be asked to reupload.
It's all part of the process and you have to pass through it.
Wishing you guys all the best.
EducationRe: Why The Hate On University Of Ilorin? by ShehuAba(m): 12:32pm On Sep 06, 2014
Thanks op for bringing this issue up.
Though, am still a student of UNILORIN and I share the sentiments the op opened up here.
Personally, I believe that Nigerian schools haven't done much really in terms of everything ranging from learning, environment, innovation etc. But some people now attack UNILORIN unnecessarily, especially when they are also suffering from what they accuse the school of not having.
Some will even go to the extent of assuming that UNILORIN students aren't intelligent which unfortunately is false. If there's anything that you can't fault UNILORIN in, it's the drilling you undergo, that's why some students call it better by stress.
But those schools that hate on UNILORIN should desist from it, because this is a school that has risen above the bars and now compete favorably with its elders per se in Nigeria educational system.
Take a look at the fact that UNILORIN was established in 1975, and it still stands out among its contemporaries which they were founded in the same year. I don't think there's any Nigerian school established in that year, that can withstand UNILORIN now.
The U.I, O.A.U, UNILAG, U.N.N, A.B.U of Nigeria came before us with at least 13 years but we still challenge them in terms of everything.
Many innovations which most schools in Nigeria use today started off in UNILORIN. Talk of CBT,E- registration, E-payment, and many more.
Though I accept that we face what all Nigerian schools go through and there's a need for more improvement. What other Nigerian schools lack which have favored us thus far is the school administration, they have really worked and are still doing their best assiduously to actualize the envisaged Better By Far University.
HealthWatching T.V While Eating Bad For Health- Nutritionist by ShehuAba(op): 3:29pm On Sep 05, 2014
Eating and watching television at the same time may pose a serious risk to human
health, a nutritionist has said.
Speaking in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES, Wednesday, Opeyemi Bolajoko, a
nutritionist and dietician with the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State, said
watching television while eating negatively impacts on the health as a lot of people
nibble, thus become unconscious of the amount of food being consumed while
inactive and which at the long run contributes to the rate of obesity in Nigeria.
Medical experts say Nigeria is facing an increasing prevalence of obesity, while
people living with hypertension and diabetes are adversely affected.
Mrs. Bolajoko however stated that eating while glued to the internet, either working
or streaming live contents on the social media, also has negative consequences on
health.
According to her, people spend a lot of time while eating and watching TV, working
on or watching the internet or cable TV thus will be prone to weight gain.
“They would be eating and would not really be conscious of what or the amount of
what they are eating. So they tend to eat more. That’s why many people while
eating, they eat more, and because they eat more, it can make them add weight
coupled with the fact that by the time they are eating, the time they spend
watching TV, they are not doing anything active, that is inactivity, which we call
sedentary lifestyle.
“That alone means the food that is even being eaten is not used. It would
invariably be stored in the body and that is one of the factors that have increased
the rate of obesity in the population because we discovered that these days, a lot
of people spend a lot of time on the internet and in watching television, so the
actual time spent on physical activities is quite reduced. And when you are eating,
and you are watching the internet or streaming something live on the internet, or
the cable TV and you spend a lot of time, and you eat as well, at the end of the
day, the person will definitely have the tendency to be fat, if that is habitual” she
said.
A study published in the JAMA Network Journals, found that televisions,
particularly those with action and sound, are bad for the waistline as viewers eat
more while watching action films than those watching an interview programme.
According to the researchers, viewing TV encourages sedentary lifestyle just like
other distracting activities such as reading, listening to radio and interacting with
companions during meals.
The study included 94 undergraduate students- 57 females with mean age nearly
20 years, who were gathered in groups to watch 20 minutes of TV and were
randomly assigned to one of three different programs. These included an action
film, an interview and a programme without sound.
It was discovered that viewers watching the more distracting programme with high
camera cuts and sound variation (action film), ate 98 percent more grams of food
and 65 percent more calories than those who watched the less distracting
programme- an interview.
“More distracting TV content appears to increase food consumption: action and
sound variation are bad for one’s diet. The more distracting a TV show, the less
attention people appear to pay to eating and the more they eat,” the researchers
stated in the journal.

PDP guys can't stop amazing me with their comments.
After they have deceived Ribadu, they are now saying that there's something better waiting for him in the party. Oboy, I laugh in Swahili, this is not only funny but also illogical.
How on earth will a party that failed to give you the support when needed, compensate you with something better.
Some are even talking about the vice presidency as if the person there is a mumu and will allow a newbie to take his place.
It looks too good to be true, this is Nigeria and our politicians are something else, Even if sambo agrees there are many sycophants that will frustrate the efforts.

From governor to minister.

san316: This is interesting. They stepped down never to be governors till 2019. Chaai, this is depressing for us that want Ribadu to be Adamawa Governor. What next? Because I'm sure he won't be Governor in 2015. *sad face*
SAI RIBADU. EFCC CHAIRMAN IN THE WAITING.
Hahaha

PDP guys can continue to talk trash for all I care.
After they will come out to tell us that they don't impose candidates. Why must candidates from Adamawa central not contest? Why will they be the only one to contest in 2015.
A party based on deceit, zoning, tribalism, Religious sentiments is not a true national party.
Now, look at how they terminated Ribadu's ambition untimely.
In 2015, they want only GEJ to contest their primaries and win.
Now tell me what's the essence of the waiver if he can't contest in the first place.
PDP MY FOOT!!

Amanwulu1: wise decision by Ribadu if u ask me. In 2015 he is clinching d ticket and govern 4 4-8yrs. Even dis man is hailing ur decision.
See this political novice talking trash. The last time i checked Nigerian politicians don't keep to agreements. You think, the person who clinches the ticket will even win the election, and even if its so will he decide not to run in 2015. Is this not the same agreement GEJ had, and he's not keeping to it.
Hahaha PDP deceiving people since 1999.
