Former goverment officials going to the private sector is not uncommon due to the sole reason of advising/telling them of where to invest and what assets to buy off from the country they previously served. |
Beyoncé never made her popular except for those people in this world that won’t know anything until a popular culture celebrity endorses it. This woman had an honorary degree from Kalamazoo College in around 2007, which was way before Beyoncé used a portion of her speech in her song. She won the prestigious MacArthur genius grant in 2008,a prize of $500,000. She has been a fellow at both Princeton and Harvard and also have gave speeches in top institutions around the world, way before Beyoncé. She is well respected in institutions around the world and can pretty much walk into any faculty in top Ivy League schools and hold a Professorship position if she wants to, just because of what she knows and have accomplished. To me she’s even less popular now, She was balling around 2007ish to 2010ish, the days of Purple Hibiscus and The thing around your neck. Lastly Americana was on New York Times best books in 2013 list, all before Beyoncé and the book is being made into a movie now. |

I appreciate the picture and the history behind it. Seeing pictures like this educates me about the glimpses of the largely undocumented history of the Yoruba people (in comparison to Egyptian history Greek etc. I think the Yoruba history is richer than the level of applause it gets around the world and it certainly deserves to have similar standing in history just like people study Greek and Egyptian history) But having being a student of life and whilst also dedicated to observing life in regards to issues of elitism, fascism, racism, hatred, monarchy and organised ruler-ship of people. History has shown that these type of ruler-ship, beliefs, organised religion (especially that group led by a leader of absolute who is a full representative of God that can never be wrong and also have power to change doctrines) and systems have given us nothing but suffering initiated through greed, elite-partnership, again GREEDY BANKING and “man wanting to achieve something for himself whilst using the slogan I want to bring a change/revolution/whatever you call it”. Iconic people in history such as Julius Cesar, Hitler, Napoleon, Queen Mary I of England, Benito Mussolini proved this. I’m sure they are heroes to some people around the world. The only thing outside of Christ (all good things comes from Christ anyway) that has been a blessing to humanity is the people/masses who have worked relentlessly to innovate machines and technology that has helped enhanced the quality of life right from iron & dark ages. The sky is the limit of where humanity can get to with the hard work of non-greedy people who are committed to their work. But people in organised ruler-ship have done nothing tangible for the populace but has only served the vested interest of itself and its partners. Let me throw in Buhari for example, there was never going to be a change. It’s the same cycle of greedy human beings that grouped themselves together to inherit a government that will give them more money, power and influence. The same will be done again and again and again with whatever Mr/Mrs Saint that campaigns in 2019, 2023, 2027 till eternity (of course things can get better and I pray that the same wont be done). I’m quite sure that organised human government structure can never fully help the populace that elects it but will rather listen to the people that planted it. The 180 million people in Nigeria seem to me to have one direct influence, and it’s even a collective influence and unfortunately it comes every 4 years, it is the right to vote. There are people and lobby groups that can influence the decisions of the government every single day, that doesn’t sound like democracy to me. |
lonelydora:Noone washes dead body or peel potato. It's a myth.Even funeral home business is a very lucrative business though. |
Worksunlimited:Are you been serious, the point is one screen is not enough. Its still one system. All you need is a cable to join 2 monitors to a system. You can even add a third one if your job warrants it. ironically, I'm currently typing from a 3 screen set-up. |
The problem is the simple gospel of God saving us and calling us with a holy calling to live unto Him has been hijacked by Men who pretend to know God more than anyone and make a name and fortune from themselves.I feel you bro. There are still few churches that preach the whole truth with no main superman Pastor that act like a Old covenant priest but rather as a New covenant Brother. |
Zellie:BIG FALSE I KNOW THAT'S BEEN DRIVEN INTO YOU FOR DECADES. |
Towncrier007:From the following: Doesn't get offended easily. Doesn't keep malice over period of time Does not try to oppress people.Love edifies right. Treat "non important" people with similar respect He/She gives to "important" people. Hates sin so much that even a movie with a single sex scene disturbs him/her. Does not believe once he pays the tithe, God is pleased with me. In summary being a true follower of Christ is simply not to take the grace of God in vain but pleasing him with our quality of life.Examples in 1 Peter 2 Peter 1 to 3 John. What passes for christianity nowadays baffles me a lot and many are deceived or not being told the absolute truth as they take the keys to earthly prosperity more serious than the keys of inner prosperity and holiness. |

duduade:Yes oh that thing controls the world but I choose to rule over it and not money rule over me |
Teaching traditions as the commandment of God. What happens in a tribe from a part of the world where men cook.I've seen a lot of that in non Nigerians where I live. |
ceecee0703:Christianity brought knowledge but a lot of the christian movement we have today are led by businessmen who parade themselves as MOG and enrich themselves by all means. The catholic church in the 14th century were believed to lead people to the "light" until Martin Luther challenged that the Pope does not have absolute power and also that the Catholic doctrine is wrong.Christianity has slipped into that state again where one super Bishop dominate people and acts like almost the representative of God on earth just like the POPE. |
hemartins:You are right sir but there is a BIG but. Let's start with the words of Christ,He used a lot of figurative expressions to describe things.I believe an eternal separation from God is equal and even worst than physical fire.In fact even if there are 1 million hell references in the bible it simply means an eternal damnation of being separated from God.In fact think of all the evil going on in the world at the moment, the rituals, killings, rape.Imagine,God still has a hand in holding this world together which means there still hope for humanity, imagine the days when He removes His hand, that's worst than fire burning you. Just like the heaven example as well, we say it's laid with Gold,is that what really makes heaven HEAVEN -GOLD, that means the Saudi prince are already in heaven and the real heaven is just a compliment but NO it's the presence of God that makes heaven HEAVEN.I will rather be with Jesus for ever and be in a small room as far as the presence of God is there(That's heaven for me). A palace without God's hand is hell. I'm not at all trying to negate the existence of Hell but a time will come after God judges the earth and He will cast off His hand and wherever the wicked people find themselves, trust me that's hell whether it has fire or not. |

But who defined the fellowship of the brethren as a building that has 500 (or more/less) people who don’t even know and care about each other and then led by a superman dictator Pastor. Can’t the fellowship of the brethren be a small unit of 5 Christians that meet together? Why is money so important in Christianity today? If money is not in Christianity at all, will there be the same number of churches today? Through history, when God calls a man, the man goes on and start well, people will repent, but as time goes by, people start to compromise (look at the 7 churches in revelation, only two pleased God), then suddenly our interest will be in numbers and mega-buildings, check out The Salvation army and the Methodist church and compare them to what they are today, when the visionary who God called dies, some of those ministries changes to a mere religion and then becomes institutionalised, man's greed for power and prominence sets in, then they start saying, lets open 10 branches by the end of the year, is it Mr Biggs, you are trying to open. Let’s go back to God and know God, going to church, dancing for 40mins and dropping offering in the basket and then hearing a sermon that does not lead you to repentance and discipleship will not save you. The catholic church did the same thing until Martin Luther confronted the Rome establishment, same with the Church of England until John Wesley, enough is enough of blind shepherds and paid hirelings pretending from the pulpit that they are better and holier than you where the only thing they want is fame, money and power just like every other human being in the world. They dominate you, rule over you, put yokes on your neck and they profit from the gospel, did Peter, Paul and Jesus made a dime from preaching the gospel, why do people use their God given “spiritual gifts” to enrich themselves, when the sorcerer offered Paul money, he rebuked Him, why do preachers demand money before they come and preach and why do they get unsatisfied if you don’t put them in the hotel they think is right? These are the times to go back to God and seek His face,...Enoch walked with God, Elijah was taken up, Paul said that I may know Him. While we may not be Noah or Paul, do we have the holy anointing as 1 John says and do we have God in our hearts? Church is not bad when its administered by the holy spirit, but when flesh runs it, keep far please and run for your life!!!. |
VolT0xic:I disagree.People always say if you are hiding nothing then don't fear.Everyman has a right to his personal data and if you leave everything about your data in the hands of someone else, abuse will be inevitable and only a matter of time.I'm sure Google themselves can't beleive how easy we've all left them to play with our personal data's. |
quiverfull:If only people know what is called Illuminati. It is the highest level of secret cult anyone can belong to in the whole world. It has 33° and illuminati is the freaking highest degree even presidents and Chief Justices are not even in the top echoleon of illuminati.I laugh when people say people like Olamide,Tiwa etc are in illuminati.Maybe some secret cult and that's maybe. The funny thing is they know what tickles people and they keep flashing the triangle hand sign so as to increase their popularity. |
cktheluckyman:Most of the plants he listed are hydros and do no gas.it's needs tidal energy. |
mrvitalis:Spot on sir.In fact the only time he was carrying thst box was when the picture was taken. The thing is Oyinbo people knows how to play the game and never caught red handed but a Nigerian politician will claim expenses of 10 million naira, hence losing his reputation. |
malailayi:Calling a dead person who died for what she believe in stupid is uncalled for. I think you wont find out the real stupid person until the resurrection morning. I for one wont call a dead person stupid talk-less of someone who died preaching the gospel. |
tayooluwole:I think the beauty of humans that no other creature has is the freewill as we saw in Cain and Abel.We have the will to be an Abel or a Cain but we need to know that God will judge the unrepentant sinner. In closing,I paraphrase a scripture in Deuteronomy which says I set before you life and death-God being a loving Father,He even gave us expo"The expo is choose life that you may live".The armed robbers that choose the way of death and every other sinners that fails to repent will eventually be judged. Shalom. |
thelish:Nope to you question. What I'm saying is a myth is the famous hit her well and she will coming back to beg everyday. It is a myth when you have more than three kids and you both work. Yes everyone can have a good sex life. |
thelish:It's a myth(maybe for in married jobless folks) and your post shows you are not married and if married a fresher. Be married with three kids along with work for you and your wife and you will realise no amount of hitting the spot can make you guys have regular sex due to the toll of work and stress but you can abviously work around it. |
LastMumu:Thank you Sir. African man and pride. Leave them to be talking about resources that you can't even extract and turn into a finish product. Yes we have resources but fail in every category when compared to other countries and thats not even naming western nations but countries like Iran,Thailand,Turkey etc |
Our President Buhari did a nice job but a smarter clothing would have been better and also prevent His buba dropping into the food. |
I find it utterly ironic that the petty endeavours of the poor that they use as a means of survival – okada riding & hawking, is being gradually eradicated by a government that is so dedicated to having a perfect visually looking city but hasn’t provided an alternative means of survival that would replace the “public hawking” that’s been erased. We certainly do not have any social allowance given to unemployed youths and yet the government seeks to eliminate their source of income. In case our government is not aware of this, the reason why there is minimal theft and burglary in the Western countries compare to Africa and other third world countries is not because the citizens of the west are holier (far from it), it’s because there is some form of basic allowances provided by the government of these countries to the lowest earners/no earners in the society, take away these allowances, then the so called western countries will have an increase rate in burglary as well. What we fail to realise is the action of the people in power is what pushes the least enlightened or the paupers to take up extreme measures of survival. We saw that in the French revolution. It’s a world-wide known principle. The corrupt system and unsecured country we have today is decades long collation of corruption in high places. People’s salary and pension have been used to buy mansions in Switzerland and Dubai. Money meant to be for youth empowerment and job creation have been stolen by corrupt officials over the past decades and now you want clean street with no hawking like London when you do NOT have the social welfare budget of the UK which is the highest part of the whole National budget. |
flyca:The reason why I engaged you was you used the term "regular-kids" and you said you didnt mean it in your reponse. Of course we went off topic but we both instilled some thought into each other which I think thats the primary reason behind this patform. The reason why I was passionate about it is that I see people do this to innocent children. Some parents compare kids and I think it's terrible. But that's not what you did.I also appreciate the fact that we didn't insult each other even though you said abeg raise your children as you like which is a direct personal statement and I never went personal with you. Take care. |
flyca:I don't like the commercial African religion too and I think it's the opium of the masses.I'm talking about knowing God and I dont think any sensible person will fail to educate and equip their children for the 21st century. An entrepreneur that innovates and changes His nation but cheats His employees is as poor in the area of honesty/empathy as a poor illiterate man who steals from a local market seller. The problem is we directly equate physical greatness which can be attained through education and training of some sorts with personal holiness which can only be attained by seeking after God (At the same time they obviously don't contardict each other as you can have both).I'm not here to say I am a godly person as I am not, but I have studied this world and found out that the heart of men are evil and it's only when He follows God that He will cease to be evil.I am not talking about technology or whatever point you are raising.I am simply saying both rich and poor, developed or under-developed nation, educated or non-educated both need to live godly lives. Trust me I do not like blind following of a particular spiritual leader or religious backwardness but that doesn't mean there is no room for personal holiness. I am pro education and by the grace of God,I am blessed in my career but what I think pleases God more than my education and everyday work is if I die to self and follow Jesus everyday. I think we are saying the same thing but from different point of view. My last line for you to think about: Why is it that people will work under a boss, let's say a Doctor and His driver, cook, nurses, gate man etc will say Oga is very humble and nice and caring.Oga associates with them and oga is very meek. Then the other scenario is an Oga Doctor with even more experience than the former Oga, but this Oga shouts, ridicules and oppress His staffs, which one do you prefer? In a nutshell that is an epitome of what goes on everyday around various sectors across the world. We have seasoned Harvard educated congressmen that has collected lobbying money to vote for legislations that will impoverish a whole town, we have senators collecting governor salary for 5 years, we have well educated teachers molesting students, we have Pastor's who are in it for the money and not because God called them to care for souls.I can go on and on. So I am not only pro-development but pro following Jesus daily and development. Whether we like it or not God will judge sin and I don't think anyone will go to hell for being poor and under-developed (vice versa wih being rich as well) but they can certainly go for being a sinner. |
olamide215:You really misunderstood my point.I'm saying the evil we see today is lack of Godliness.Nobody is saying we should be poor. If you want to hear If I have to choose I will rather choose God over mammon but I think If any man chooses God and follow Him, such man will never lack anything good. |
flyca:All of those are good and never ungodly, infact our soceity need more and I encourage all parents to support their children to fully exploit their potential and become the best they can be and parents should also spend up to their last kobo/pence/cent to make sure they acheive and develop in extracurricular activities whilst also contributing to society but if they possess all of these earthly achievement and do NOT know God and walk in His way (not as secular christian of living in sin and going to church and paying tithe) , then I can say such parent has failed.I pray that will not be a testimony of anyone.Amen When I say the number one need.I talk from the point of view of the evil we see in our world today (it grieves me) and it's because human are becoming more evil by the day. Fortunately or unfortunately those evils can only be eliminated through Godliness and not horse riding and piano lessons. |
flyca:I guess you are not a parent. There is nothing called regular child but I do know that children are heritage of the Lord. As you may know and aware of the very bad news we hear everyday,I'm sure you are not surprised that its someone "child (whether rich or poo)" that committed the atrocities. Therefore the number one need of this present age are Godly children that will be more godly than us their parents and will follow Jesus everyday.Every other earthy blessing is a bonus.#IprayyouunderstandwhereImcomingfrom. |
My own example is Saraki.Regardless of the allegations against Him and some have been proven to be true, but the guy is still saying No shaking,I'm not going anywhere. You know why?No respect for the people of Nigeria. |
