ComputersRe: Processor Speed Or Ram(random Access Memory): Which Determines Speed Of A Pc? by sholasys: 6:19pm On Dec 07, 2011
you guys have said it all and in addition, dual core, quad, core 2 duo, i3 , i5, i7processor types are also a factor, they contain multiple processor chips not necessarily the processor speed and they are better than the former. 32bit , 64 bit processor is also a factor, before now we have limited option for comparison but due to high tech we hv alot of option to determine sys peed.  it also depends on the task you are performing. now deleting a huge file does not require much RAM accessibility but copying a hug file require both the RAM and processor.
PoliticsRe: Failed Projects And Money Wasted by sholasys: 8:44am On Nov 23, 2011
Most of this project failed bc no proper project management plans, some of this contractors dont even scoop and understand the project requirements. Above all, their intention is bias even though the project objective is beneficial to the masses, their selfish interest will kill it. over inflation, favouritism, project galloping and economic sabotage all culminate project failure   #PMOT

Security Brief For End Year Activities

As we approach end-of-year activities, there is the likelihood of increased criminality. Historically, the rate of violent crimes such as kidnap for ransom, armed robbery, carjacking, extortion, fraud and other petty crimes tend to increase during this period.
Personal awareness of the prevalence and tactics of criminals remains the first line of security risk mitigation. Staff are expected to take responsibility for their personal security, by being vigilant and consciously avoiding behaviors that will expose them to criminal attacks.
The following security tips are considered helpful:
Threat awareness:
• Be interested in knowing about security threats and activities in your locality - route to work, shopping places, home/residence and house of worship e.t.c. Develop the habit of asking friends/colleagues/neighbours about what is happening around your localities with respect to security.
Personal Actions:
• Remember to lock your doors and windows before leaving home or resting at night.
• Check where your children are playing and be aware of the whereabouts of family members are at any given time. Always tell someone where you are going and what time you expect to arrive.
• Remember your personal journey management - vary your times and routes: don't set patterns. Avoid known trouble spots and avoid night time driving.
• Be vigilant especially after social gatherings and when returning from places of worship, restaurants, clubs and supermarkets, etc.
• Be alert when returning to your home or compound. Ensure that you are not being followed or that there are no unknown persons loitering near your gate/premises. If you are in any doubt, drive on to a known or secure location such as a police station and report your doubt/suspicion.
• Avoid non-critical trips. Minimize night time movements. When travelling, avoid stopping in lonely, obscure places. Fill your fuel tank before you embark on a journey and stop to buy fuel only in major towns/cities.
• Do not flaunt your wealth! Do not display or expose anything of value either in your car or at home where it may be seen from outside as they may attract criminal attacks.
• As much as it is practicable, conceal your identity. A low profile lifestyle may reduce your vulnerability to criminal attacks.
• Avoid carrying large amounts of cash and where possible, consider transactions in banks within Shell premises.
• Avoid using ATMs in public places and during dark hours.
• Limit the number of people that know your personal details and travel arrangements.
• Ensure you carry valid vehicle papers and pertinent travel documents at all times.
Communicate:
• If you feel that something is instinctively wrong, it probably is - report it! FEEL/SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.
• Have a functional means of communication. Have adequate call credit on your phone. Being able to make that call could just be what you need to handle unpleasant circumstances.

• Do not feel shy about reporting something.

Nairaland GeneralEleven Eleven Eleven 11 – 11 – 11 Date by sholasys(op): 4:07pm On Nov 02, 2011
This is a spectacular date that occurs once in a long time. It is on a Friday and a lot of programs have been slated for this date. Church programs, social function, clubbing (Almost every club in PH has a special attraction for that day with billboards and multimedia adverts in strategic places), special event and weddings will be held on this day for its uniqueness. All this are good but my worry is that those Evil doers’s should not use that day to perpetrate their acts again. Remember 9/11? The date was very strategic to the plan, the twin centre stands as “11”, 911 a US Dial code. The uniqueness of the date may prompt terrorist to operate again. Or would the world end on that day? Would there be acid rain ? Please what do you think?

Wonderful project you have there. My advice for you in case of next time you "projectized" your project. Sorry my fellow kwarans from your analysis i observed that you dont have a define project plan, definite project scope. You scope creep which increase your project cost, the materials cost analysys   was not based on measurement and size but based on estimate and price negotiation. I am happy for u bc u are not complaining and its always like this when your are sending money down for a project. henceforth any material you r buying request for bill of quantity of any project phase eg plastering or painting get like 2 diff type, involve external expert on it to ask question. U will be suprised on how much cost you will reduced. I pray i will start my own soonest like you, jst bought 1 plot at 300k in ilorin few month ago. which area is ur site. God bless U

IslamRe: Come And See jihad For What It Is by sholasys: 7:02am On Oct 08, 2011
All this Islam is a religion of peace cannot be define and explain theoretically except practically. Should I say the Arab world did not have good knowledge of islam or did not even understand the religion ? else by the posters explanation why would they always associate Islam with violent? why at any violent the word "jihad" is wide used. In the northern nigeria all the violent that took place killing non muslims, you will hear them shouting jihad, allahu akbar repeatedly. I think the poster should start educating their fellow muslims first, change their orientation. I just ask a muslim friend now and he said the true applicable meaning of jihad is the process of fighting against enemy of islam. diplomatically, i like your post but it will not be judged by that but by what is happening.

FamilyRe: Is It Wise To Allow Our Kids To Speak Pidgin English? by sholasys: 12:18pm On Sep 27, 2011
Why would i denial my kid not to speak pidgin English? both does not disturb each other and as a matter of fact i know when and whom to speak English to and also pidgin. Am very fluent in both and if i want to be posh, i can do that perfectly and eloquently. Some time i do speak broken to my kid. All get their benefits. As far as you are a Nigerian or you are in Nigeria you need it. In fact an American Expertriate  was saved from kidnapping in Phc bc he spoke pidgin English to them (dough he married  Niaja lady).

Cisco is an Hardware manufacturing company/product name like LG, DELL, SONY, TOSHIBA etc,  They major in Telecommunication infrastructures (ICT in general). One need the knowledge and the understanding of there product to be able to used and work with them. So you have to be certified on there product/OS, be trained on it to manage it properly. At the course of managing it,  involves hardware, software, laying cables etc. Sorry this is the lowest i can go. thanks

RomanceRe: Can You Take The Risk Of Marrying A Genotype Incompartible Partner? by sholasys: 12:07pm On Jul 12, 2011
I am posting this, not to encourage the Poster but a Testimony to the Glory of GOD. Six month to our wedding i discovered am AS meanwhile my fiancée (wife now) had told me right from unset that she is AS, we courted for 8yrs. I tot i was AA bc i did the test during secondary sch days early 90s. We love each other and decided to go ahead and we married. Am expecting another very soon,  And I know God will do it again. I went Ahead to marry her bc she is the best woman in d word. I can never never loose her bc of genotype. I told God If it will take me to fast for the whole 9month to avoid SS child, i am ready. I did not quote scripture bc i don't want to sound spiritual here. But My friend. u need FAITH FAITH and FAITH, It works. And as long as u are ever faithful to your wife, forget it, its a done deal. we plan to hav 2 kids. so decide bro

Why are some Muslims here so diversionary and myopic in their thought.  How can somebody be comparing Christian Universities with Islamic banking? This is sheer sentiment to justify a failed argument. Islamic bank is banking with sharia law. In Christian universities there are muslims reading law, computer science, accounting etc without "religionized" it  Dont be shallow minded. If you dont have fact just Shot up

I try to study all the maps from EzeUche and Becomrich before contributing to this thread because i work in a Drilling company in PortHarcourt which made me to have traveled to atleast 35% of this oil Rigs both offshore and onshore(swamp and land). Their maps are both correct with some correction on Becomrich map along igbo Land. Imo state has oil. I have to search my company oil catalog before coming to post this. There is oil in Izombe and Egbema both operated by Addax and Sterling global respectively both in Imo state. There is also oil block in one village that i have forgotten the name of the village very close to rivers state but its in Imo state.
Anyway this thread has been educative
PoliticsRe: Tinubu Gave S’west Votes To Jonathan - Yinka Odumakin by sholasys: 11:20pm On Apr 19, 2011
i have taken time to study the presidential election thoroughly and as a matter of fact, this is my first post after the election. There was no deal struck at all btw Tinubu and GEJ. This election was based on religious sentiment and personality. I can assure you that if it were Buhari that contested under PDP, SE will not vote for him same as SS and probably Middle belt.  This is not good for the country.
