If you are not happy that APC made you swear by the Koran, you can go back to PDP who take you to Okija shrine to swear that you will loot the nation's treasury and share it with fellow thieves.

No need of sanctioning AIT now, after May 29, the fraudulent company will be shut forever. The 419 chairman sold shares to poor Nigerians and used the money to marry more wives, no profit, no bonus. Trust Buhari, he does not like lying media and cheating business men. AIT has just 4 more months to lie to Nigerians. I hope AIT staff have started sending out their CVs. ONTV, CTV, STV, LTV and other stations all over Nigeria will absorb current AIT staff. The fraudulent and lying media will not be allowed to continue propagating falsehood. Freedom of speech does not include lying and deceit.

Politics › NCC Shuts Down Buhari’s Campaign Fund Raising Platform by simpleseyi(op): 5:39pm On Jan 22, 2015
The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has shut down the 35350 SMS platform for raising fund for the General Muhammed Buhari presidential campaign.
The platform was one of the five launched in Lagos on Tuesday, but the Director, Buhari-Osinbajo Fund Raising Campaign and Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola told a news conference on Thursday at the State House, Marina, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, that President Goodluck Jonathan has become so desperate that he is using the NCC to haunt the opposition party.
With the 35350 platform, Nigerians willing to donate to Buhari’s campaign simply had to send APC to the 35350 to contribute N100 to the campaign either using MTN, Glo, Etisalat, Airtel and Visaphone.
•Muhammadu Buhari
•Muhammadu Buhari
According to Fashola, the NCC shut down the platform on Wednesday afternoon after it wrote to the telecom operators not to carry such messages.
“The NCC has shut down the 35350 platform for sending N100 message to the Buhari fund raising campaign yesterday afternoon. Before it was shut down, 5400 people had contributed N100 to the Buhari campaign fund using the platform,” he said.
Fashola added that since Wednesday, he had been receiving messages from people wanting to contribute that they could not get through to the line because NCC had shut it down.
He said in 2010, the same platform was granted by the NCC to raise fund for the Jonathan-Sambo campaign, while appealing to the president to direct NCC to restore the platform as the people’s freedom was being gagged.
The governor restated that it entered into business relationship with the telecom operators and was never a political issue to make them partisan.
Fashola lamented that in recent time, Jonathan had become so desperate and intolerant that he oppressed the opposition in a bid to hold on to power at all costs.
He said he never expected to witness such brazen lawlessness and repression of the people’s freedom to express themselves all in the quest to cling to power at all costs.
“Why should a commercial transaction be frustrated because of one man’s desire to serve and why should they be shutting down generational platform?” he asked.
Fashola said the Federal Government had earlier shut down the APC’s website which made the party to launch another platform which is still being haunted by the presidency.
The governor said the APC would explore all legal means to fight for its interest but lamented that the courts had been shut down for long, thus, preventing the party from using it to seek redress.

Politics › Jobless Youth Killed While Struggling For Campaign Money by simpleseyi(op): 6:25am On Jan 22, 2015
A 25-year-old man, Kingsley Ughala, has been shot dead while struggling to share the money dashed out by a politician after a rally of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon in the Gbagada area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Kingsley had followed the APC to a rally and returned with some group of boys who later besieged the campaign office of the APC governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, for “settlement.”

Our correspondent was told that after money was given out to the men, trouble started when a particular group wanted to pocket the largesse.

In the ensuing scuffle, the Imo State indigene was shot dead.

His corpse was said to have been deposited at the Gbagada General Hospital mortuary.

It was learnt that the police, had however arrested a suspect, Abayomi Ayeni.

A resident of the area, Jegede Johnson, said the victim was killed around 4pm.

He said, “It happened around the APC campaign office in Gbagada. After they finished their rally for the day, some group of boys returned to the campaign office for settlement.

“They were given some money to share among themselves.

“A fight broke out when one of the groups wanted to go away with the money.

“The struggle was intense, and at a point one of the groups brought out a gun and shot the guy dead.”

The victim’s father, Samuel, a carpenter, said he had returned from work in the evening of the fateful day when he learnt his son had been killed.

“I returned from work at about 9pm and I heard my son was killed. By that time, it was too late for me to go out so I waited till the following day which was a Saturday. I reported the matter at the Ifako Police Station.

“He had just finished his apprenticeship and we were looking for a job for him when he was killed. He was the third out of my six children.”

The victim’s elder brother, Chima, said, “I learnt that my brother was struggling for the money with those boys. When they entered a bus, they shot and killed him.”

It was gathered that the matter had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, where the suspect was also being held.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.

The states under probe by the EFCC included Kano, Jigawa, Imo, Ebonyi and Rivers.
Kano, Imo, Rivers are APC states. Jigawa is neither PDP nor APC because the governor has been campaigning for FeBuhari while Ebonyi is the only purely PDP state under probe. We thought that Goatluck Jonathan will wait till he loses the election before loosing his militants to turn the country South-South upside, but obviously he does not want to wait till after election. Let him (Jonathan) bring it on, we are waiting for him.

The evil genius has said that Generals will support their fellow General (FeBuhari), Baba-No-Regret Obasanjo has thrown his weight behind FeBuhari, we the South-Westerners have thrown our weight behind FeBuhari just as South-South militants whom Jonathan has been given money to acquire arms and ammunition are ready to fight for their own clueless son to continue ruining the country. BRING IT ON, WE ARE WAITING.
Politics › Alleged Fraud: EFCC Probes Rivers, Kano, Others by simpleseyi(op): 7:04am On Jan 21, 2015
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is investigating five state governments in connection with suspected financial crimes, sources in the commission said on Tuesday.

The states under probe by the EFCC included Kano, Jigawa, Imo, Ebonyi and Rivers.

It was learnt that five other state governments were under watch but the commission had not moved against them.

A source said that the commission had been silent on some of the cases involving deductions from local government funds at source in some of the states in order to avoid sending out wrong signals that the anti-graft commission was being used for political victimisation.

It was further learnt that the cases against the governments were being handled by the Public Governance Unit of the EFCC.

Another source in the EFCC said the commission commenced investigations into the Rivers State Government accounts shortly after the crisis that rocked the state House of Assembly and that anti-graft operatives had yet to conclude the investigation.

Already, the EFCC source said the commission had invited some members of the Rivers House for interrogation.

The source added that the commission’s investigation in Ebonyi State, which was said to have led to the arrest of three top government officials, rested on alleged illegal deductions from local government funds for questionable projects.

The commission recently arrested three top officials of the state government in relation with alleged illegal deductions of local government funds at source for asphalt projects in all the 13 local government areas of the state.

It was further stated that the EFCC was also investigating a former governor (name withheld) in relation with an ongoing investigation into the accounts of one of the states.

Our correspondent could not get the head of media and publicity of the EFCC, Wilson Uwajaren, to comment on the ongoing investigations as he did not pick the calls made to his mobile telephone line.

Politics › Re: Can We Easily Wrest Power From Buhari If He Does Not Perform After 4 Years by simpleseyi: 10:12am On Jan 16, 2015
I am a chronic Buhari supporter. I preach Buhari, I think Buhari, I eat Buhari, I sleep Buhari and I dream Buhari. By the grace of God, Buhari will be sworn in as Nigeria's president come May 29, 2015. Buhari is coming to fix Nigeria, the same way he did it from December 1983 to August 1985 (20 months). These months are the best months of modern Nigeria. Buhari paid the loan that Shagari and his looting comrades borrowed from World Bank. Buhari reduced inflation from about 25% in Shagari regime to about 5%. Buhari stabilized the Naira, 1 Naira was $1.20Cents, meaning that the naira was higher than the dollar. Today, 1 dollar is more than 180 naira. Corrupt politicians like the Jonathans, the Allison-Maduekes, the Stella Oduahs, the Okojo-Iweallas of today were given executive rooms in non-executive prisons. By the grace of God, Buhari is coming back to repeat the same performance and even surpass his own records.

If however, for any reason whatsoever he does not perform within the next 2 years, we shall start the process of removing him from office through mass protest in all the cities in Nigeria and also lobby the National Assembly to impeach him. We cannot wait another four years for anyone to take us for a ride again. The current dunce and nonentity at Aso Rock once said that only one term of 4 years is enough to fix Nigeria. Now, we he has wasted six years plus the eight years that Obasanjo wasted making it 14 wasted years. We don't have any 4 years to give anyone. Only 24 months, if Buhari does not perform, we will not allow him finish the 4 years. we shall take to the streets.

Please Madam Okonjo-Iwealla, is the purchase of another presidential jet to make a total of 11 jets also part of the austerity measures?
Politics › More Austerity Measures Coming – Okonjo-iweala by simpleseyi(op): 7:46am On Jan 16, 2015
Following the continuous decline of the price of crude oil in the international market, the Federal Government on Thursday said it was preparing additional measures to mitigate the impact of the price drop on the Nigerian economy.

It also denied withdrawing the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework from the National Assembly, adding that the MTEF and the budget were with the lawmakers.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, stated these in Abuja while speaking at the launch of the Action 2015 programme, where she had a dialogue with school children of 15 years of age.

Action 2015 is an international movement to call for more action in the area of fighting corruption, inequality and climate change, and it is based on the believe that 2015 can be a pivotal year that will change the future.

The concert-styled event had in attendance celebrities such as Genevieve Nnaji, Samson Siasia, Dbanj, Timi Dakolo, Praiz, Marvellous Odiete, Nike Laoye and Jaiye Keys, who lent their voices to the call for inclusive growth.

Okonjo-Iweala said the country was facing a challenging time because of the developments in the global economy, adding that this had necessitated the need for additional austerity measures.

The minister did not provide details of the additional measures being planned.

She had during a public presentation of the 2015 budget proposal listed the stoppage of the purchase of new furniture, and reduction in international travels and trainings by government officials by 50 per cent as some of the austerity measures to be taken this year to boost revenue.

Others are the implementation of the Stephen Orasanye committee’s report on the rationalisation of the civil service; and introduction of 10 per cent tax on private jets, three per cent surcharge on champagnes and one per cent property tax on mansions with value exceeding N300m.

Between December 17, 2014 when the budget proposal was submitted, with oil benchmark price pegged at $65 per barrel, and now, global oil prices have further crashed to around $46 per barrel.

The development has further heightened tension in the country because of the Federal Government’s almost total dependence on crude oil exports for its revenue

Specifically, Okonjo-Iweala told the children that 2015 would be a very difficult year for the economy, noting, however, that with appropriate fiscal and monetary policy instruments, the government would manage the economy in a manner that would be beneficial to all.

She said although the country could have moved faster in achieving its goal in the past, a lot of efforts had been put in place to ensure that it achieved the Millennium Development Goals.

The minister gave an assurance that despite the challenges facing the economy as a result of the drop in oil prices, the government was prepared to respond with additional austerity measures.

She said since the budget proposal was with the National Assembly, the government was monitoring developments around oil prices in order to come up with appropriate measures once the decline got to the lowest point.

The minister said, “We have to provide an environment for the children to grow so that they can become leaders that will uphold the values that we need such as honesty, hard work, truth and valuing the country above self.

“Even though the oil price is going down, the budget is with the National Assembly. Let me just tell you that measures are being put in place so that we can manage the budget and the economy at whatever the oil price bottoms out.

“Right now, no one knows the bottom because it is falling every day. Once it stabilises and we know the bottom, we will accompany it with appropriate measures. So, we are working everyday with scenarios; we are following exactly the plan we told Nigerians.

“There are scenarios at $55, $50 and below of the additional measures that will be needed, and I believe that though this will be a very difficult year for the country, we have the tools, we know how to apply them and we know that working together, we will be able to take this country through this year and then to a brighter 2016.”

On what is being done to assist the poor to mitigate the difficult times, Okonjo-Iweala said although things might look tough at the moment, the government was building a platform on which it would assist those at the bottom of the pyramid.

She said. “For one to help lift people out of poverty, we are doing something that is technological, which is trying to give every Nigerian a smartcard and your generation will be the one to mostly appreciate this.

“It will enable us to target those at the very bottom once they have a card to be able to help them with some assistance that can assure basic health care and their children being in school through a conditional cash transfer programme and that programme is being put together by the President.

“These are some of the things that will target and include more people who are left out now.”

She said the government was working towards providing an environment for the children to grow so that they could become leaders who would uphold the values of honesty, hard work, truth and valuing the country above self.
