DrAda:You have even made her case worse. The 20 faculties have their various students Unions headed by the faculty presidents The 110 departments have theirs too headed by the departmental presidents Even the halls of residence have their various students executives. Then there is the elected students union parliament The students Union also have their elected executive Council. Are these numerous representatives not enough for her to work with in the "complex" University? |
givedemwotowoto:The courts does not work that way. If it does, anyone that loses a matter at any court can approach another court to give him a favourable ruling on the same subject instead of appealing. The Sim group committed a grave error in this matter. They obtained an exparte order from a state high court on the 16th of July restraining PDP from conducting the Congress. The order expired after 7 days and was not renewed for reasons best known to them. The Wike group then immediately got their own order from a federal High Court to conduct the Congress. What the Sim group did today by going to another state high court to get another exparte order is an effort on futility because the order of the federal high Court is still subsisting. Have you asked yourself why they didn't approach the first judge that gave the restraining order on the 16th? I have heard that the order was supposed to have even renewed for another seven days but for internal sabotage. I think the Congress will still go ahead. Afterwards, the only option would be for the Sim group to approach the Appeal court. For the result, your guess is as good as mine. |
James Ibori, I thought you would have given a solution to stop the states from tampering with the Local Government allocations. You said paying their allocations directly by FAAC is not the solution, what then do you proffer as the solution. You said nothing. We all know that the Supreme Court ruling is in contradiction with Section 162 of the constitution. But then, the Supreme Court is a policy court. That section has led to gross abuse of the Local Government finances by the states and that is not what the drafters of the constitution intended - the spirit of the constitution. We all know that it will almost be impossible to amend this section because you will need concurrence of two thirds of the states. The Supreme court has done what a responsible supreme court should do in these circumstances. Man is not made for the law byt the law is made for man. |
Ken4Christ:I have read the original post from 2008 and most of the comments defending the Pastor. I was desperately searching for that one comment that will prove that the accusations were false. behold, the more I read the defences put up by the CE members the more I got convinced that they have nothing to counter the damning eye witness accounts and evidences provided by the accusers. And here are the questions still left answered for the past 16 years or so. 1. What really is the need and purpose of a healing school and making it compulsory for the sick to attend before they can qualify to be healed? There is no record of a healing school anywhere in the Bible. 2. The obvious answer to question 1 would be to teach you and fortify your faith. A follow up question is must one have faith in order to receive a miracle? Were all the miracles performed by our Lord Jesus as a result of the faith of the receiver? Are there no miracles performed out of mercy for the receiver, even if he or she is not strong in faith? 3. Why did the Tebego girl in South Africa use two different wheelchairs on the same day of her supposed healing? For me, this is the most damning evidence to corroborate the claims that she could actually walk and didn't come to the healing school with any wheelchair. I noticed that since 2008, the CE members have been avoiding this particular question. I hope someone can really answer these questions instead of beating around the bush. |
efemena5050:He wouldn't have lost relevance. He could have explained that away that they needed to change strategies to achieve their ultimate objective of having their own nation, that they needed to control the political administration of the region instead of leaving it in the hands of people who didn't believe in the struggle. It would have been easy to examine and he was already a god. They will believe anything he said. Nnamdi Kanu would have been the undisputed political leader of the south east by now if he had used his head. In reality, how can you even achieve self determination for your people without being their political head or regarded as one. Ojukwu was already the political head of the Eastern region before he declared Biafra. |
IxBet:So you had to wait almost one year before responding so that you can claim that it is difficult for you to check and make correction because of the time gap. My bet was won and you know it. 11-0, 11-0, 11-0 win for the heavy underdog player in table tennis is impossible. That is the result you claimed was the result. The links are still there to prove that you cheated me of my legitimate winning. I think I will bring back this matter to the puvlic domain |
Nnamdi Kanu and his family are still living in the past. They have failed to realise that NK has lost his awe and political relevance and it is all due to his fault. When he was released from the first detention in 2017, he was like a colossus and was literally worshipped by the Igbos who are naturally desirous and always eager for someone to hero worship. He should have seized that opportunity to quickly transform himself to the political leader of the South East. At that point, politicians were falling over themselves to have a picture with Nnamdi Kanu. Any candidate or party he endorsed would have won elections easily. And that is what he should have done. His adopted political party would have swept the south east and maybe by now, he would have had all five south east governors under his control. Then, you can effectively fight for a referendum if that was his real objective. But he allowed the hero worshipping to get into his head and he lost focus. Instead of strategising on how to make use of his cult following to gain political power, he started an underground warfare, flatantly abusing his bail conditions thinking that he was now untouchable. That is what landed him in this condition now. I am sure he must be regretting his missed opportunity now. But it is too late to make amends, a lot of water has passed under the bridge. He is no longer firmly in control of his IPOB and the Inos have got a new hero now to worship in the person of Peter Obi. Nnamdi Kanu and his family should face the reality now. This is no longer 2017. |
Abuja has virtually become one of the states in Nigeria by the way it is being administered now. The constitution should be amended to allow Abuja to be governed by an elected Mayor rather than a Minister appointed by the President. The political parties can go further to compulsorily zone their candidates for Mayor in such a way that if the North produces the President, the Mayor of Abuja should come from the South and vice versa. This will reduce the sense of loss from the region that didn't produce the President. But most importantly the Mayor seat will serve as a breeding and testing ground for potential future Presidents. Any Mayor that performs so well will naturally have a head start in future contests for the Presidency. |
Apel147:You are not honest or may be ignorant in your submission. Yes, Alia won the election for APC. But APC won the election for Alia too. There is a reason why he chose to contest under APC among the 16 or 17 other choices he had. It was a symbiotic relationship. APC needed Alia, and Alia needed the APC structure. Any one who says anything contrary is either untruthful or ignorant |
Why is the song so short? |
What does this woman really want from Wike? Let it not be what I am thinking o. But it might not be far from this: 1. Wike is appointed Minister of FCT 2. He makes the first set of appointments without consulting the senator. 3. The senator took to the public to complain but made a mistake by questioning Wike's suitability for the office. 4. Wike would have none of it and marked her as an enemy to be cut to size. 5. Wike starts appearing in public with Philip Adudua who Ireti Kingigbe dislodged as Senator with the help of the obidients wave. 6. Senator Adudua is popularly known in political circles as "the landlord of Abuja" and wants to return to the senate in 2027. 7. Wike has began to work very closely with the six Area Councils Chairmen, three are APC and three are PDP. 8. Senator Ireti Kingigbe is seeing that Wike wants to lock down the FCT with his usual "nyedeba nyedaba" politicking. 9. Wike is delivering critical projects, awarding some contracts to Adudua while the Senator has been reduced to a bystander. 10. The senator, now isolated and frustrated, starts rallying the obidients and discrediting Wike at every opportunity. |
Aketi was a loving husband married to a bad wife. Good men and women are hardly lucky in their choice of spouse. The irony of life. |
When a governor starts fighting his godfather, they will tell you that they wamt to end godfatherism. And the gullible will be cheering them on. But the reality is that they only seek to replace the old godfather with a new one: themselves. It is an unending vicious circle. |
We like deceiving ourselves in this country. I remember the frenzied calls last time to make direct primaries mandatory. The reality is that no major political party in Nigeria can conduct a credible direct primary election. There is no single direct primary election amongst the thousands we have held in this country that one can point out as credible. This is the sham that some ignorant folks wanted to make compulsory in our electoral act. Even the new one that will be conducted in Edo State will still be a charade. |
can the gubernatorial primary of the ruling party be disrupted? Anyone attempting that is going on a suicide mission. I believe someone with the experience of Philip Shaibu will know this. So I think that allegation was cooked up to arrest that supporter and intimidate the Deputy Governor. Dirty politics at play here. |
'My mum is expecting you in my house tomorrow. You know my house address." That last statement made me suspect that this was either a prank or staged. |
It is easy to dictate to people how they should react when they experience cyber bullying or are emotionally abused. Wait till it happens to you in such proportion, then you can come teach us with your own example. |
But economically speaking, this is good for Nigeria on the long run. If we are now exporting agricultural produce to other countries, it means our farmers will have more money in their pockets and more people will be encouraged to cultivate the vast arable land that we have. All the government needs to do is to tackle the issue of insecurity that has bedevilled the sector for too long. More people will take to farming and all the produce can not be exported. Nigeria might be on her way to food sufficiency if the government can just tackle insecurity. |
The introduction of this bill shows that our leaders are living in denial. They don't seem to know what is happening in the country or they pretend not to know. So upon all the hardship that has befallen the people, what is of topmost interest to this legislator is creation of more states? At a time when their is a general clamour for us to reduce the cost of governance. Until the masses take to the streets and anarchy befalls us before these jokers will face reality. |
See how we are now glorifying a midfielder that can only tackle but can not pass. This is how low we have sunk in our standards for the Super Eagles. Our National team has been turned to a team that parks the bus And we are okaying it, not knowing that we are destroying the culture of Nigerian football. In the past we have had midfielders like Onyeka, hard workers that do the dirty job but are not creative. Thompson Oliha, Moses Kpakor, Garba Lawal, Seyi Olofinjana, etc. But because our team always played with flair, we never glorified them. Sunday Oliseh is still regarded as our best defensive midfielder ever because he can not only tackle but is creative too. But today, Peseiro has turned us to Stoke City, complete with the long throw ins. And we see nothing wrong with that because of short term results. By the time our eyes clear, we will even be parking the bus against Sao Tome and Principe. |
ValarDoharis:Which of the past elections was better conducted than the 2023 general elections? |
ValarDoharis:It is not because of the docility of the citizens. The last general election was the best ever conducted by INEC. But we allowed ourselves to be deceived by those who lost to believe that it was the worst ever. That made us to ignore the strong features INEC had introduced. Instead of trying to seek ways to enhance these feature and plug the loopholes, we joined in the condemnation of the entire process. Everyone kept on hammering on real time electronic transmission of the results and ignored the fact that accreditation is the most important thing in an election and not the result. INEC had managed to get the accreditation right for the first time since 1993, yet we allowed ourselves to be deceived that the general election was a total sham. In the last off season elections, INEC simply gave the people what they said they wanted. Accreditation data and the results were all transmitted electronically real time to the iREV. And we are now back to the era of writing the results at home. As long as it is electronically transmitted, it is credible. |
ValarDoharis:Go and look at the results of the last governorship elections in Kogi and Imo states. The accreditation data and results are still there on the iREV. You will notice the massive electoral fraud in those two states. The results do not match the accreditation figures in many of the polling units. They were all transmitted electronically. So the electronic transmission did not stop the massive rigging that took place in those two states. But it was not so in the last general elections that people were discrediting. |
ValarDoharis:making it compulsory to transmit the result and accreditation figure electronically does not solve any problems. In the last off season governorship elections, the results and accreditation figures were all transmitted electronically and posted on the iREV yet those elections were worse than the last general elections. In the last general elections, INEC ensured that there was no polling unit where the total votes exceeded the accreditation figure and this is the way to go. It was not a flawless election but it was the best that INEC ever conducted. |
1. The compulsory fresh registration every 10 years is unnecessary. It might make INEC to relax in their continuous registration exercise and wait for the compulsory fresh registration every 10 years. We don't need a fresh registration to clean up the voters register. Instead, a system can be introduced to automatically remove any voter who has not been accredited to vote in three election circles from the voters register. 2. Holding all the elections same day makes more sense. We need to reduce the costs of our elections. 3. Electronic transmission of results is not the problem. In the massively fraudulent elections in Kogi and Imo states, all the results were transmitted electronically. But those elections were far worse than the last general elections. The important thing is how those results were generated and not whether they were transmitted electronically or not. The accreditation figures from the BIVAS is the most important thing and we should pay more attention to it rather than this fixation on the iREV. The total votes cast in any polling center should not be higher than the accreditation figure from the BIVAS. If this guideline was followed, most of the fraud we witnessed in Kogi and Imo states would have been curtailed. 4. The passing of a bill to ask courts to impose heavy fines on frivolous petitions is very laughable. The courts are already empowered to impose fines as they deem fit and they do not need a new law to ask them to do their jobs. What is even the definition of "heavy" fine. No amount was proposed so at the end it will still be at the discretion of the judges. This bill is a mere waste of legislative time. On the whole, I support only the proposed conduct of all elections same day. The rest should be trashed. |
The post by the Chippa Chairman only shows his lack of emotional intelligence. Even if he is supporting his goalie against his own country (which is weird by the way), he didn't need to say it publicly. |
Very nice gesture from the club but she should have spoken in Spanish. She no try at all. |
Artscollection:You guys keep referring to the supreme court case. So if it is in Wike's hand, he will let Amaechi take back Rivers State through Tonye Cole? I wonder how people reason sef. There was no supreme court agenda. Fubara signed the agreement because if he refused, Tinubu would allow Wike to impeach him. Simple. Wike has all the constitutional requirements needed to impeach the Governor. It was Tinubu that asked Wike to halt the impeachment process after the Governor was served an impeachment notice. That is why Fubara keeps thanking Tinubu for his support. Without the President's intervention, Fubara was a goner, Before anyone put matter on this Rivers issue, you have to know this basic fact first, |
UNDFTD:There are people who have fallen victims to the same group they were defending. Good luck to you. |
It is obvious that the recent steep decline in the value of the naira is not due to any proven economic factor. It is artificial, mainly due to speculations by Nigerians. I think the government should not intervene but ensure that there is little or no room for arbitrage as they seem to be doing lately. Let the naira even fall down to 10,000 to the dollar if that is what the currency speculators want. The market will naturally get to a bursting limit, like all ponzi schemes are bound to, where late entrants will lose heavily. There is no difference between ponzi and what they are doing now. |
Abagworo:The truth is that there are Fulani herdsmen doing kidnappings, there are IPOB elements doing kidnappings too and there are also local criminals doing kidnappings. There is no point in pointing fingers at just one group or trying to exonerate any. You may even fall victim to the same group you are trying to defend. |
fergie001:Oh I see. Politics is deep. |
