He is not a Yoruba man in any way, my sister was his father,s personal assistant for many yrs, she knows everything about their family, they are not even real Nigerians if you don't know. his great grandfather claimed Hausa but married a Yoruba conquered woman, the same thing with is father olusola saraki who also married yoruba woman
I think I"ll agree with u on this. The saraki's are not ethnic Yoruba's. Saraki is not a Yoruba name, I guess they are Fulani's that immigrated from somewhere in Mali. However, they've mingled with the natives in Ilorin and adopted Yoruba culture. Bukola himself bears Yoruba names and speaks Yoruba as his first language. Kwara itself, just like okun in Kogi are considered Yoruba territory. So any appointment offered to people from those areas will be seen as a plus for the Yoruba's. Just like IBO's see appointment offered the delta IBO's a plus. |
OneNaira6:SE didn't just have a slight higher number in infant mortality, rather it had the 2nd worst infant mortality rate in the entire country. Worse than the War ravaged born throway NE. And to me that's very disturbing and it says a lot about basic healthcare in that region. SW that u guys had been pounding since morning didn't record such position in any of the indices. And sir go back and read the report beyond education indices. SW also had the highest record of children sleeping under ITN. and came second in ANC visit, measles immunisation, skilled attendant delivery etc Overall SW came top in overall health indices. Ur statement that SW performed worse in the southern region is fallacious. And its not all about SE NC top the list in HIV awareness. |
TRIBALSTOOGE:oga the same report that gave SE a prominent lead in education that u guys are drooling over also reported what I wrote. yet, u want to disparage the latter. then we can as well ignore the whole report. praise ur strength, and work on ur weakness. n try and be objective for once. |
Emyben:sw top in improved infant n child mortality indices as well as basic water sanitation. south east even trail behind NW in infant mortality which is very shocking. while SE led in overall education, it struggled in childhood health assesment. I guess your likes only read the first 4 indices n started basking in pseudo euphoria. go back and read the report properly. |
ifyan:this has nothing to do with african mentality complex or worshipping oyinbo its all about endorsement. its the same leverage you get when top naija stars adorn themselves with your product. besides, beyonce is not oyinbo. |
naturefellow:dont mind them all those haters. a top celebrity like beyonce wears your cloth and they say its no big deal. top designers pay huge amount just for celebrities to wear their brand. its an indirect form of advert. thousands will be interested in the product just because they saw it on beyonce. who knew frank oshodi (even in naija) before agbani darego won miss world. |
@ op the truth is most of these girls are not worth it. not to talk of creating enmity between you and your padi. forget the victim game they play, these girlz know what they are doing. your friend also has a game plan and he's playing to the script. you just came in and spoilt the show. next time, just stay out of it and remain loyal to your friend. nobody appreciates the good boy u're trying to be. |
Skywalker5:You guys are funny sha So what type of foreign investors are u expecting in a third world company Nigeria and Nigerians simply don't have what it takes to attract high paying jobs into the country. If we are really serious about diversification and industrialisation, then we will use our comparative advantage and competitive edge to attract the right kind of investors. And cheap labour is one of it. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Ask China. |
first I disagree with those who say 75,000 is nothing. the starting salary of a bsc holder in the federal civil service is 75,000k. people get married n raise families with the amount. they buy cars and embark on building project. its all about frugality n understanding. the average wage in china is $500, yet they have the fastest rising middle class in the world. we earn n spend our salary in naira not in dollars, thus any attempt at comparison or conversion makes no sense. now at op my piece of advise; dont travel out of this country illegally or by fraudulent means. trust me its not worth it. ur present status cannot get u a visa easily in any us embassy, so I dont really know how ur sister intends to bring you in. travel out only if u have a valid visa. it doesn't matter the type. be it visitor, student, work visa. So long its genuine, take the risk and make the best use of the opportunity. |
the ability to service a debt is the single most important factor to consider when borrowing. @ chronique is either dishonest or ignorant when he made attempt to compare the debt of an industrial nation to that of a third world. yes, countries like us, japan, uk have a high debt-gdp ratio, but they have the means to service their debt and thats what matters. this countries can do so because they service their debt using their respective local currency e.g America service its debt in dollars, japan owe its debt in yen. the advantage in this is that they can print more money to pay off their debt if need be. America has been doing this for some time now and that's why nations are worried about dollar remaining the global currency. besides, industrial nations are mostly productive with a highly diversified economy. thus they will always be revenue in the government coffers. Now it's a whole different ball game for developing or emerging economies. this countries borrow in dollars and are expected to pay back in dollars, a currency they have no control over. unlike America that prints dollar at will, these countries need to earn every single dollar by exporting either a product or service. Inability to do so simply means they are at the mercies of their debtors. most developing nations are mono-economy with weak infrastructures, thus revenue is limited. Therefore ability to service their debts quickly becomes an issue anytime there is an economic crisis, unlike what obtains in developed nations. Japan has been battling economic depression since 2000 while US has seen a weak growth over the past 8 years, yet none have defaulted on their loan servicing. But take a look at greece n u can appreciate what I ve been saying. nigeria story will be more like greece or ghana or argentina when world bank comes calling. |
sorepco:I hope u know the difference BTW depreciation and devaluation of currency. They are not interchangeable |
What u fail to understand is that most of those factories depend on imported raw materials and chemicals for production. We need to develop our value chain supply first before we embark on this suicidal mission. cococandy: |
atlwireles:Please, can u mention these tools |
First and foremost let me congratulate u for standing up for ur mom I can assure u she appreciated what u did on her behalf. As for ur dad, yes he slapped u, but its now dawned on him that his abusive authoritarian behaviours will not go unchallenged. He will be careful next time. Stand up for ur mum anytime he tries any rubbish. He will soon tire while u will be stronger. Try as much as possible to be independent. God will bless ur hustle. Then u will even have a bigger say. The truth is most of this men are just bullies, who don't know when to stop. When they are cautioned, they behave. No woman, ur mother's age deserve such maltreatment. They've gone through a lot. They should be allowed to live the rest of their years in peace. |
Europe is broke n desperately needs capital inflow to stay afloat. For now, China remains the biggest global spender. China is to global economy what Chelsea is to football. Most countries will do well to align with them one way or another. US should see it the way it is...... Its nothing personal. |
Hillary looks like a divisive figure in america she's not very popular I read comments about her on yahoo news today 1500 comments and non was favourable the comments were hateful n spiteful one even said an hillary presidency will bring back the north v south american revolution. I think the general impression in the us is that obama presidency is a mistake. and really I cant fault them. he promised change but all we could see both at home n abroad is continuity of the same hegemonic order. a lot of americanse are angry n tired. they felt they were swindled by the first-time mantra in 2008. now, they want nothing of such. unfortunately, hillary campaign bears such similarities- first female president. Moreover, most Americans feels hillary represent everything that is wrong with washington- elitist govt, arrogance, power obsession, excessive welfarism........ then is the issue of Clinton v Bush dynasty. democrats will do well to present a more open, less controversial candidate. I think its time americans do away with both the Bushs' n the clintons' |
50calibre:Get ur facts right abeg. UN regard Nigeria as a middle income economy and not underdeveloped. Have u heard of the acronym MINT. I agree we are not where we should be.......as per the likes of Malaysia, Indonesia, turkey, Philippines etc But we are far above those aid dependent countries u mentioned. |
Truckpusher:High human capital should reflect in the way the society is organised. Can u say Nigeria is an organised nation. |
oseo1:Oga don't come here and say what u don't know. Yes, american govt do not directly sponsor their professional athletes. But the various athletic clubs receives support from govt n corporate bodies alike. In the u.k, athletics clubs receive funding from both municipal n central govt. With this funding, the clubs take care of their athletes n helps them compete. Besides virtually all amateur athletes are under one form scholarship n they do receive training grants. Now its a bit different in developing countries who takes sport seriously. The govt funds and sponsor this athletes directly. The govt establishe national athletic clubs that will be directly responsible for training, development, welfare, progress n competitiveness of both amateur n professional athletes. The clubs employ national teams coaches, physiotherapists, trainers, nutritionists, psychologists etc for the athletes. That's how in done in Jamaica, China, Ethiopia, kenya, Cuba n even Russia. And that's why their athletes perform well in international competitions. |
babyosisi:Really So doctors in the u.s don't get to treat MRSA, VRE, ESBL producing organisms, CDI, VAP..... No wonder nosocomial infections kill 90,000 americans yearly...... U see urself now Go and read about nosocomial infections, u no gree. |
babyosisi:I hope u know what nosocomial infection is all about. Because if u do, u won't exonerate healthcare workers BTW its now called healthcare workers associated infections. HAI. read about it. |
naijafresh:I'm not sure she shares this same sentiment with u. As far she's concerned The demon eats and dine with Nigerian doctors, while american healthcare workers are next to God. I wish I can browse and dig out that article I wrote about. Come and see as Americans were hurling insults at people the op wants us to worship. They said all they care about is payment and how much of it they can get off u irrespective of treatment outcome. What shocked me was that they supported the idea of the woman getting a better and cheaper treatment for her daughter in mexico. They assured her of getting her money's worth in mexico than us. Comparing a health system of a developing country to that of a developed country is simply illogical. The challenges are different and approach at finding solution is also not the same. The problem of Nigerian healthcare system is not incompetence of the healthcare workers. The same doctors and nurses leave the shores of this country and practice efficiently elsewhere. The bane of the problem lies in lack of organisation and accountability. And the above two permeates all sectors in this country. That's why immigration can organise interview for candidates in a stadium of all places and yet nobody was held responsible for the aftermath chaos. When people are not held accountable for their actions, abuse is inevitable. And that's the greed, corruption, nepotism, non challance u see everywhere. If you've been to a hospital where things work. Its not because there are better doctors or nurses. Its because there's a head who doesn't tolerates rubbish. He makes sure people are held accountable for their actions. I have worked in one of such hospitals before. As a doctor, u dare not say because u re not on call u won't attend to an emergency. That's suicidal. Patients are not kept waiting in casualty overnight. Once they are stabilized , they are moved to the wards where the management team takes over. U don't push emergency surgeries to the next day. O&G Consultants on call sleep overnight. I worked there for 3 years and we only recorded a case of maternal mortality. The confidence women had in our O&G docs was very high. A consultant had been sacked before for being slothful in his duty. I know the op is a staunch GEJ supporter. If only he can provide us with this kind of no nonsense leadership we all crave for. Maybe then people will sit up and take their duty seriously. In this country, i know every maternal mortality case should be reported to the presidency. If the presidency decides to take action on this cases and enacts strict disciplinary measures Then maybe every doctor all over the country will try their very best not to incur the wrath of the president. But as I wrote earlier, when people are not held accountable for their action, abuse is inevitable. |
Yes! I have answered the only intelligent question posed No single hospital anywhere in the USA will turn a patient who shows up at the emergency room away
Abeg, softly, softly American healthcare system is not eldorado as u are trying to paint it. Americans are also complaining about their healthcare system americans who live close to Canadian border now cross over to canada to assess healthcare services like drugs, investigations, basic surgical procedures etc because its much more cheaper and same quality. Most dentist who live near the Mexican border are moving their facilities to mexico to avoid bureaucracy associated with the burdensome and expensive healthcare industry. I read an article where a lady accused the medical staffs in a us hospital of worsening her child's condition when on admission. The hospital ignored her complaints and even threatened her. She took her child and left for mexico without proper discharge. The issue was national news in the u.s that time. Most comments I read online supported the woman's action. They described medical staffs as heartless and wicked people. Some even said she will get a better treatment in mexico. I think the child had cancer. A friend of mine who lives in Carolina complained to me how she paid more for an investigation via her health insurance. She said she would have paid just a third of the amount if she had no insurance and had paid directly from her pocket. Small wonder most Americans now prefer to have no form of health insurance. At least nobody will scam them of their hard earned money. And I hope u know most Americans belief health workers like u are the biggest beneficiary of their health insurance premium. Thus a growing resentment against doctors and other health care workers. I don't need to tell u about Medicare and Medicaid that's on the verge of collapse once China stop lending u guys money. Just pray Hilary Clinton wins the next presidential election, or else the republicans will come with their voucher card health care payment that will definitely be rationed. Then we will see how nice and happy american doctors will be to treat people for free. And if I may ask u Why are american doctors and nurses against obamacare? A noble idea that intends to give a universal healthcare coverage to all Americans simply wants to go down the drain because of the greed and selfishness of some few. A few ingrates that babyosis represents. |

tete7000:Oga I'm a Christian but I don't your theory Personal revelation is subject to different interpretations, so don't come here and expound unsubstantiated facts as the truth. Clearly show us in the scriptures where this so called church wedding is a must. if u fail to do so, then don't come here and ascribe church wedding as a core value to the Christian faith. please, start acting like the bereans' and stop allowing your pastor to brainwash you. |
joywendy:The fact that you got so many likes for this rubbish you wrote shows the high number of empty skulls residing in this country. for your information, Africans were the first set of people to open universities in this world. go and read about university of Timbuktu, a school founded more than 1000 years ago. at its peak it had over 25,000 students and 700,000 books. it awarded degrees in medicine, mathematics, and postgraduate degrees. pls, grab a book and read before coming online to display your ignorance. |
Eluwilussit:All these scenario unfolding are beyond jonathan himself he is as helpless as we electorates he is just a pawn in the hands of the powers that be. anybody that thinks any election is going to hold on march 28 is on a long thing. just because its always cold in jos doesn't mean snow is going to fall. its obvious jonathan cannot win a free and fair (sophisticated rigged) election. the next option is tenure elongation or ING As for the march4buhari crew sorry, buhari's case has been concluded. he's a bygone. the cabals don't want him. To we the electorates Let's just accept whatever outcome for peace to reign its only when there's peace that we can shout 'change or continuity'. |
woodcook:Sincerely, do you think GEJ is the one acting? He's no longer in charge. The poor guy is as helpless as the electorates. |
woodcook:do you sincerely think GEJ is the one acting? He's no longer in control. The poor guy is as helpless as the electorates. |
Litmus:Mr conspiratory therorist, calm down abeg. ur imagination is running u wild. if western countries are looking for a legitimate reason to have a military foothold in Nigeria they would have done so last year, during the chibok girls crisis, but the foreign forces only came, saw and left. western countries may not like Nigeria, but they also don't hate us. rather, they expect us to get our acts and priorities right and be a regional power we are suppose to be. but when a poorly funded rag-tag militia like book haram begins to re-draw the map of Nigeria its normal for sane and serious nations to ask questions. |
ChristineC:but Chadian troops crossing over to Nigerian territory is not a declaration of war? continue giving excuse for incompetence |
halimat38:as in........eehn the thing tire me...... amazingly..... a lot of people don't even see anything wrong in it |
