lastpage:are u saying police wont investigate a case of car robbery if the owner left his car key in the ignition, thus making it easy for the car to be stolen. pls cite references, thats a vague statement. I dont know if u stay in nigeria, but I can tell u 90% of cars in naija are not insured or has third party at best (which is no insurance). technically, motor vehicle comprehensive insurance is voluntary. anyway lets not to deviate, the koko be say indecent dressing is not an excuse for rape. no means no, and its high time men begin to respect that decision. this is what getting a lot of our guys in trouble abroad. besides I dont even believe an 18 yr old girl living under her father's roof will leave the house early in the morning dressed like a slot. that lecturer has no excuse. he did the crime, he must do the time. |
lastpage:but the police will investigate the robbery, go after the robbers, arrest them and return his car. and thats all that matters, not the opinion of some insurance companies or the society. look here lets be factual I wonder the 'so called indecent' dress an 18 yr old girl (that left her father's house early in the morning to follow her dad's friend to work) will wear that justified her being raped. the man who left home early because he wanted to avoid traffic suddenly had so much time on his hand that he volunteered to become a tourist guide. he got to office and this 18 yr old girl started flirting with him and playing with his manhood, telling him to be free and practically offered herself to him. a girl he's meeting for the very first time. I wonder how many of our matured women will be that daring and bold to offer themselves to a man they barely know. and its amazimg that someone can even fall for that crap that has lies smeared all over it. i'm not sure u really know so many typical 18 yr old, but majority are simple, naive, and naturally reserved. they dont have the mind for all these things this lecturer said she did. |
lastpage:so the average ones should be at the mercy of lecturers? because I dont understand what you're driving at. its a girls fault if she an average student there4 sje should not complain if a lecturer choose to sit on her destiny. |
magicminister:please take time and read ppp. what is the cost of rent in america compared to naija. how much do u pay ur artisans for services rendered in naija compared to america. how much do ur domestic workers earn here? is that what they pay same people in us. |
magicminister:have u heard of the word PPP -purchasing power parity? because if u do, u won't be comparing wages of a developing nation to that of developed. if nigerians start earning exactly what their americans counterparts earn, then I guess Americans will come down here to take jobs, because someone earning a million naira in naija is a king while someone earning 5000 dollars is not noticed by his neighbours. |
hinwazaka:now you ague we should boost our production and industrial capacity. that I agree. but is it going to happen overnight? if we start planting cocoa, cotton and palm oil trees that will yield millions of tonnes of products and help in favourable trade balance, dont u think that will take time? if we embark on massive industrialization of our economy, do you think by next year we will become an export regional power? so what do u want the govt to do till then? fold their hands and allow the naira attain junk status? no serious govt will allow that. I dont know what u do, but this policy will favour manufacturers on the long run. factories import raw materials that they process into finished goods. They will surely benefit from a strong naira. OR you prefer the devaluation of the naira. Most factories in the eighties collapsed due to naira depreciation courtesy SAP. |
PvtParts:my piece of advice to u. quit ethnic bigotry. bigots struggle to attain there full potential. they rarely do well in life. |
PvtParts:so positive trade balance will happen overnight? and until then the govt should wait and watch as its currency turn to tissue paper and the economy is dollarised. every serious govt manipulates her currency as the state of the economy demands. china and south korea are the worst culprit. I dont really get your point about the manufacturing industry because as far as I know, our manufacturers are majorly importers of raw materials and intermediates products. our value chain supply is weak, so most factories rely on imported industrial components to produce finished goods. therefore a stronger naira is beneficial to the manufacturing sector. |
skyfullofstars:wow I love you see maturity and intelligence in display. homosexuality is a clash of culture and religious belief across continents. just like abortion, it will always be a conflicting issue. |
ROSSIKE:tell this to the 4 millions zimbabweans who are in south africa doing menial jobs to survive yet refused to go home in the face of apparent xenophobic attacks from angry hosts. by the way, why are they are not at home working on the redistributed farms. if the land reform is a success as you allude, then why are Zim running away from the land. See you, you think to till the land for profit is all about hoe and cutlass? nonsense. are even aware that most of Mugagbe's cronies he gave the land to are silently leasing the land back to white farmers. Talking about putting the cart before the horse. do you even know that the man still collects aids from these so called western nations. The U.S he plummets every now and then, remains the largest source of foreign donor to his govt. very pathetic. He travelled to china the other day, for the asean convention and said 'the days of Africa selling primary products to western nations in exchange for consumer goods are over' I was like so what exactly does asian nations buy from Zim and what do they sell in return. abeg, the man is simply out of touch with reality. I dont respect african leaders that spits venom against western countries but yet failed woefully to achieve economic sustainability for the common good of their own people. Talk to me about Gadaffi or that botswana leader and I will listen. |
ROSSIKE:I dont know whether the land reform is a success or not, but for a country that was formerly a net exporter of food to now become a net importer of food says a lot about the so called land reform u just dont hand over farms to people who lacked the technical skill, knowledge and capital on how to run a viable commercial enterprise and expect a transformation. if thats how u intend to run your business, then i feel sorry for u........ Let's face it, Zimbabwe is an economic disaster. The biggest source of revenue for the nation is remittance from Zimbabweans working in south Africa. The severe economic condition has forced it's citizens to RSA to work low paying jobs The average wage in Zim is nothing to write home about...... 5 dollars per month And u are even among the lucky few to get that kind of job Unemployment is rampant........at 94 %. Despite the ridiculous cheap labour (something that should encourage investors) factories are closing down everyday. Cost of doing business is high and bureaucracy is daunting. Efforts to lease the fertile lands to competent hands for commercial farming was rebuffed. Despite the relief from the Chinese........they are Zim biggest buyers of its natural resources Only the members of zanu-pf party and their cronies has seen improvements in their lives. The rest of the country has given up. Chronic inflation has destroyed any reasonable purchasing power And essential commodities has simply disappeared from stores. Effort by fellow Africans, incuding my ibo brothers to revive the ailing retail market by their ingenuity was resisted. Mugabe simply said no foreigner must own a store or shop, instead the foreigner should employ a local as the real boss of the shop. Now Someone wants me to respect such a man simply because he's antiwest. Nonsense. Mugabe is a failure.....an example of everything wrong with African leaders He should go. |
well, this report basically corroborate similar poverty index reports from world bank and national bureau of statistics. SW has the lowest poverty rate while NW has the highest, although facts and figures vary. The various methodologies used in carrying out this reports are always controversial. white people view poverty from a different angle, they define poverty as a person living on less than two dollars per day and lay emphasis on access to clean water, basic sanitation, quality education and healthcare, infant mortality rate, maternal mortality rate, life expectancy etc Nigerians view poverty differently and believes poverty eradication has more to do with acquisition of material wealth such as mansions, luxurious cars, private jets; viability of commercial activities; presence of big supermarkets, shopping malls; individuals' purchasing power etc. This will naturally cause a disagreement among us anytime this reports are released. However, methodologies follow basic scientific principles which includes universality, reproducibility, testable and tentative. If your poverty methodology is acceptable in Nigeria but rejected in Japan, then its not scientific and cannot be used to assess poverty. Until we are a able to produce a universally acceptable methodology on poverty rate, we will continue to abide with theirs'. |
omenka:ok I'll try to explain based on revelational understanding I have on the topic Now, the bible made us to understand that God is a spirit and he created man in his exact likeness i.e God created man a spirit. In Gen 1:27, God created man in his own image(which is the spirit and not the body), male and female he created them and gave them the mandate to populate the earth. and man has been doing this for over thousands of years he has been in existence. Now man needs a body to function in his present terrestrial world which is the earth. The bodily form man acquire per time depends on environmental and climatic condition he finds himself at that period. As man evolves his body adapts to the reality of his new world in order to survive and function. These explains the different body forms ascribed to man through his evolutionary timeline. The homo sapien sapien (the modern man) presently occupies the earth and they differ depending on the location they live. Those close to the equator develop a darker skin pigment to avoid developing skin cancers due to direct exposure to sunlight. Those who lives on high elevation tends to be hairy in order to protect themselves from cold. That's what evolution is all about and also explains the variation in mankind and for your info man is still evolving. down the line man may no longer have the pinna because we don't really need it. both the wisdom tooth, coccyx and appendix may also disappear because they serve no useful function. however what has remained constant is the way God made us...spirit form. that has not changed and will never change. what has changed is our body and physical appearance and God is not responsible for that. God didn't create anybody a body, whatever body you have is a prerequisite for u to function and to have an identity people can relate with. Even when God was to be made man, he had to shed his celestial glory for an earthly body in order to dwell and relate among us. please it's worthy to note that man is a spirit, he has a soul and dwells in a body. Out of the 3, the body is of the least priority to God anyway, its going to eventually degenerate, never to be restored. In heaven, we are all going to be spirit beings with celestial bodies. No race, no colour, no black, no ethnicity, no hispanic, no white. So why should God pay so much attention to such inconsequentials. Therefore as followers of christ, its imperative for us not to dwell too deeply on such matters that are purely academic at best. Now the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of eden is simply a poetic allegory to explain the fallen state of man, the subsequent separation of man from God and setting the stage for the eventual reconciliation btw man and God. |
freecocoa:I thought u are here to find answers....... all these atheism, agnosticism or whatever wont help u..... they will only confuse your mind the more in your quest to seek knowledge..... open up your mind to the truth and you shall find the peace you so much need ...... that u are a Christian doesn't make u a zombie or someone without a rational mind God even told us, come lets walk and discuss together that we may agree. To the topic Now, the bible made us to understand that God is a spirit and he created man in his exact likeness. In Gen 1:27, God created man in his own image(which is the spirit and not the body), male and female he created them and gave them the mandate to populate the earth. and man has been doing this for over thousands of years he has been in existence. Our fingers may be reduced to four or even three because to use ur hand efficiently, all u need is the thumb and one or two fingers. The rest are just extras. however what has remained constant is the way God made us...spirit form. that has not changed and will never change. what has changed is our body and physical appearance and God is not responsible for that. God made man a spirit not a body. please remember this; Man is a spirit, he has a soul, and lives in a body. The issue here is not the justification of land grab rather the poor state of the economy. Let's face it, Zimbabwe is an economic disaster. I think for every age gruop , there are more single guys than ladies. That's a fact. It's always been like that........its not something new. However, the mere fact that a man can marry younger women while that cannot be said for women makes the case of aged spinsters more disturbing. Most aging bachelors will eventually settle down.......one way or another. That for aging spinsters could be a daunting task.........the more reason a young lady should ensure she's plucked when her cherry blossoms the most. God will help us all. |
ayoolanr:hmmmmm so u will advise your sister to divorce her husband if he cheats on her? I'm a christian and a firm believer in marital fidelity...... but let me tell u something life is not all white and black as u think........rather, it comes in different shades of color, sometimes matted together u cant even decipher. and when it hits u......taking irrational decisions like the ones u posted maybe counterproductive. ever wonder why people say 'life is not fair......get use to it'. @ post I'm sure the op never encouraged infidelity of any kind...... rather all she's saying is dont do anything deemed extreme when u discover ur spouse' infidelity..... there are other options....... To my naija women....the truth remains, the sole reason why your husband will never cheat on you is if he has a genuine fear of God in his heart. the bible says the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom...... A wise man who knows this and keeps it to heart will know that adultery is a destroyer and a destiny killer. proverbs 5:1-23. anything apart from the above guarantees nothing. your beauty, cooking, wealth, love, care, charm, influence, nagging, threat may not prevent him.......... that's the realistic truth. |
Ephemmm:aregbesola would have borrowed from the bank to pay salaries but have exceeded the debt limit for the state. no bank will loan the govt of osun state any money. the problem in osun state is obvious........ a large chunk of the state allocation goes to debt servicing, leaving virtually nothing for personel cost, salaries and capital projects. lets face it, aregbesola has no business with governance. the guy ran the state into insolvency with his dubious welfare programs aregbesola ran a socialist government and for a state like osun with meagre source of revenue........that is an issue. well.......the people of osun need not complain they loved and adored him when the oil money was sustaining his welfare programs like the free school meal, opon imo, unemployment benefit for graduatres....... thus they should endure with him during the hard times....... as yorubas will say..... you dont dine and wine with the baron, and then turn against him in the day of trouble. |
Prettydiamond:OK ![]() Prettydiamond:OK |
Prettydiamond:Indeed u are pretty As for the diamond.........well I can't comment. |
bushdoc9919:oga doc there is nothing wrong in washing snake bite wound with soap and water its an acceptable and recommended emergency fist aid treatment in the management of snake bite injury. i wonder where all these misinformation is coming from.......most esp from a fellow doc u read her post and condemned the right thing.....yet was silent on the application of tourniquet around the wound site, and that is a wrong thing to do. i think we should be careful information we post on social media before we mislead the public. |
onyxo76:sorry wrong post |

this guy....... u dey try sha...........with all these ur conspiracy theories. at least, it's better to be known for something than nothing at all. |

Do you seriously want me to believe all that u wrote there. IMF forced African leaders to take loan...... I hope you are aware Ghana and Egypt just rejected IMF bail out funds.......... And seriously...I should blame the white man that a stupid African leader stole his countries wealth and deposited it abroad....... And all u guys shouting natural resources exploitation are beginning to sound like a crack c.d.......... Botswana, a successful African country by universal standard developed her economy around diamond exportation. They have consistently maintained a budget surplus and huge foreign reserves just by exporting diamond. South Africa is another African country that depend on natural resources exportation as a source of foreign exchange earning. Australia is a country ranked among the top five countries in prosperity index, yet 75% of her exports comprises coal and iron ore. Instead of u guys to ask how serious countries are getting the best out of their natural resources....... All u do is to rant about exploitation. As per what u wrote about HIV..........sorry, l don't do conspiracy theory. If u have hard facts showing HIV was introduced into africa via immunisation.......... Present it and we'll debate it. |
An2elect2:No media depicts Africa a shit hole..... Africa is depicted exactly what Africans have turned it into.... I dont know the western media you watch...... but bbc dedicates an hour everyday talking about investment opportunities in Africa cnn also has a biweekly program called inside Africa that talks about African enterpreneurs...... however, if you feel this is not enough..... why cant we launch our own cable news channel and show the world the image of Africa we want them to see. cnn and bbc isn't for Africa viewers..... so they will never be designed to satisfy you. lets learn from al Jazeera and cctv..... rather than howling and whining. |
An2elect2:I agree we don't live for them and they don't live for us as well. however, while they don't disturb us with their problems..... we hardly get by our problems without involving them ebola would have wiped out at least 3 west African nations if not for their interventions... most donor contributions towards eradicating HIV/AIDS and polio in Africa comes from them.... and I dont even want to start on the Mediterranean crossing..... I cant continue to spoon-feed you and expect me to take you serious... You dont like what people write or say about you....... then get your acts together and prove them wrong. pure and simple. |
Hollaniyii:I think they lack the capacity to engage in mass production of their products. Value chain production is a challenge in this country except they will produce in Asia. Its when they can churn out millions of their products within a short possible time that they can target the general masses. Until then, their limited production capacity will inadvertently make their products a target of the elites. |
Emyben:nope, but I picked it because IMR is a strong health indicator used in measuring basic healthcare services in a nation. u guys cannot lag behind in that n be boasting of best HDI. |
OneNaira6:oga go read infant mortality rate. then read under 5 mortality rate n childhood mortality rate. then we'll come back n discuss that aspect. I didn't say IMR and maternal mortality rate goes hand in hand, cos I dont know where u got that from. rather both are health assessment indicators u guys came here and were gloating about a weak educational system that produce sub standard paper certificates products. but when others came n pointed out ur weak basic sanitation n poor health indices, u went emotional and started talking about international standard. pls calm down n use that ur common sense to counsel them on international standard when it comes to quality education a nation/region should be proud of. |
OneNaira6:but why did the SE region perform so poorly in infant mortality rate. no other southern region had such dismal performance in all the indices reported. u should be worried if u know what that means. IMR and maternal mortality rate are strong measures of socio-economic status of a community. Since under 5 and infant MR goes hand in hand and SE didnt record a dismal figure in the former, then I want to believe the latter figure is an error. if not, then.........I really dont know what to say and please....... u cant be boasting of the best HDI when your children find it difficult to celebrate their first birthday. do something about that first. |
