Kobojunkie:
Really sad! The man must have given up from the time he decided it best to sell all he had back home so he could get out of Nigeria. For any human being to settle for a life as a cleaner, rather than go back, tells of how resolved he is to take what he has now over what he used to have.

I hope he gets his asylum if he can.
Can anyone really get to that point. . .  I mean give up and be willing to settle as a cleaner in a foreign country?!!

I honestly don't want to believe it.

I hope that blonde immigration officer or one of her family members wasnt dumped by a naija guy? She was so antagonistic though I know she was only doing her job. She seemed more militant than the others.

Rotflmao! She is just probably fed up with the whole thing! Did you hear say. . . "We know how it works" It is so sad, if only our people will see they are better off in Nigeria. . . there has got to be something better than cleaner work in Naija now? Thats if its true though
He is probably doing this for his family.  undecided I doubt his family property story is true. He's probably doing it for asylum. . . the Indian Immigration officer said the chances he'll get one based on that story is very small.

Isn’t the beauty of a wonderful (dating) relationship based on the fact that you can both retire to your separate quarters at the end of the day?

Why would anyone want to live with a guy when they don’t have to. . . I mean all that togetherness before marriage?  huh huh huh

I say wait until you absolutely, can’t escape it, you have no choice but to live together to. . . You know live together.

All the people saying forgive him, pray for him and all that, ahn ahn,
notto mention those saying she's maybe not as attractive as she was before, and similar rubbish

The man is abusing the woman and all you can suggest is forgive him and pray for him?

The man is mentally and emotionally abusive.
Why must it always the abused woman's fault?

Why should the abused woman wanting to walk away from an abusive relationship , and that is what this is, be told "Marriage is for life". So she should suffer under the abuse till what happens exactly? Till she has a nervous breakdown, commits suicide, kills her son, when will you think that she has endured enough from this man?
Don't you know it. . . You are not a true, proper, loving, saintly Naija wife until you die for the sake of marriage.

All sorts of sensless responses to this thread. Imagine. . . excusing cheating by saying ALL Nigerian men cheat and she better get used to it, like HIS mom did. If someone else says that now, they will all yell generalization! I love how they use the "it's in our blood excuse" when it's convenient for them.

There're some mistakes that should never happen in a relationship, if it does, it will never be the same again.
And it is infidelity

@ poster,
can you see what am saying concerning women encouraging such degrading acts, you can read from the last responses, women have really lost their focus, am not sorry to utter that statement.
What the hell has to with the innocent child in this case, there're so many children who grew up without the love of their father, and they made it successful, e.g Ben Carson (famous neuro-surgeon) lacks fatherly care, you can see what he's made up of.
IOt is better for a child to grow up without a father, than growing up when a useless one is around.

Prayer don't change those that are not ready to change, and the funniest part is that people of such kind are very religious, they beleive that by going to church regularly all their atrocities will be forgiven of the previous week, and they go into it the following week. So the next sundey they go for cleansing, the act just keep up going all that way round.

Ladies, put yourself in the shoes of men, you catch your wife cheating on you, what will you do? be sincere with yourself
enitan2002:
@ hotpot,
the lady in question has already made a decision, and by his special grace, she'll survive the trauma the man put her into.
I wish her from the depth of my heart, the strength to be able to live her live as she has dreamt of, which is to be happy.

@ nomanicole,
women as well as men are the architect of their own misfortune,
making a mistake once don't describe you as being stupid, but making it and still don't want to admit, and thinking things will change without an extra effort from you, makes you the dumbest fella.
The poster admitted, but she aint going back, and am in support.
enitan2002:
@ nomanicole,
There're some positions I find myself in, that i don't care about what the other person have to say or will say.
And by the way, with the condition we are in, there's no way we can get the other person's view.

Infidelity has no basis of any kind.

If the relationship has been cut off before the act, i don't see any thing wrong there.

What is it that your hubby must have done for you to cheat on him/her?
enitan2002:
Well i grew in a family, where this kind of issue never get to occur, so i really want the kind of life i grew up with to also be the same for my children.

I guess those with different views don't see anything wrong with it at all, because that is the type of lifestyle they are grew up into.

enitan2002:
@ poster/all,
what i hate most in any form of relationship, whther dating/courtship/marriage is infidelity, i don't really condone such an animistic behaviour.
And I blame women totally when this happens to them in marriage, they would have seen such traits in their man during courtship or even onmany occasions got caught, but all in the name of getting married and having a prefix 'mrs' or 'age is no longer on my side theory', they overlook it and console theirselves that 'he'll change when he's married', but things get worse in marriage.
So my sister, quiting such relationship saves you a lot, premature death (Hypertension, Heart Failure, Depression e.t.c), the man doesnt really worth you, with a little patience you will arrive at your destination.

Tjose men on the forum,
I don't really think there'd be a character in a woman that warrants her husband to be cheating on her (i.e if she is not the promiscous one also), if there exist between them open communication, i don't think both parties will find it difficult in talking out their differences, that is the beauty of it all.

I take Men infidelity and women infidelity equal, no one is greater than the other

@ poster,
you've made the right decision, i wish you strength to be able to get over with the problems he's caused you.
While I take issue with your putting the blame solely on the women because they should have seen the behavior during courtship, I'll still say. . .

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHOWING US THAT THERE ARE MEN WHO DON'T LET BLIND LOYALTY TO THEIR SEX STOP THEM FROM SEEING REASON!!!!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!!! kiss kiss kiss kiss

bawomolo:
what exactly is prayer going to do in this case?
Praying for HIM to change now!! They keep praying and praying and praying. . . looking for the answers to their prayer in the day he walks into the house with flowers in his hands and declare. . . "Darling, I will never cheat on you again, I am a changed man" and they live happily ever after.

Yeaap, they wait for this miraculous event, totally oblivious the real answers to the prayers where they are being shown honest to goodness reasons for them to pack their kaya and jet out of there before he completely destroys their life.

SOS

I am so lost, I’m trying to find my way back but I don’t know if I can. Seen so many things, heard so many things this past few weeks, it makes everything seem so trivial. I can’t find pleasure in the pleasurable anymore. I want to go back. . . back to when it was all so easy, when the thought of murder gave me a thrill. Now. . . now I can barely muster up a Yee haw at the thought of taking a life with a pen. . . a blue one (I think the image of red on blue will be a pretty sight). Not even the thought of popping air in a vein gets me there. My muse has deserted me or maybe I left her. . . either way, I’m lost,  I’m trying to find my way back and I don’t know if I can.

Foreign AffairsObama's Use Of Complete Sentences Stirs Controversy by SisiJinx(op): 6:56pm On Nov 22, 2008
Obama's Use of Complete Sentences Stirs Controversy

In the first two weeks since the election, President-elect Barack Obama has broken with a tradition established over the past eight years through his controversial use of complete sentences, political observers say.

Millions of Americans who watched Mr. Obama's appearance on CBS's 60 Minutes on Sunday witnessed the president-elect's unorthodox verbal tic, which had Mr. Obama employing grammatically correct sentences virtually every time he opened his mouth.

But Mr. Obama's decision to use complete sentences in his public pronouncements carries with it certain risks, since after the last eight years many Americans may find his odd speaking style jarring.

According to presidential historian Davis Logsdon of the University of Minnesota, some Americans might find it "alienating" to have a president who speaks English as if it were his first language.

"Every time Obama opens his mouth, his subjects and verbs are in agreement," says Mr. Logsdon. "If he keeps it up, he is running the risk of sounding like an elitist."

The historian said that if Mr. Obama insists on using complete sentences in his speeches, the public may find itself saying, "Okay, subject, predicate, subject predicate -- we get it, stop showing off."

The president-elect's stubborn insistence on using complete sentences has already attracted a rebuke from one of his harshest critics, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska.

"Talking with complete sentences there and also too talking in a way that ordinary Americans like Joe the Plumber and Tito the Builder can't really do there, I think needing to do that isn't tapping into what Americans are needing also," she said.
